He drives for Reaume Bros Racing, which has a shoestring budget.
But he also totally choked the one time he found himself in a decent position late in the race, so him being the lowest ranked full time driver is a combination of things.

Not sure how different things are across the pond, but I cannot recommend grassroots club level motorcycle racing enough, it's unreasonably fun, not actually that expensive, and very easy to get into. Go get a bike that fits into a common class, either a Ninja 400, RC390, or SV650. Take a couple of trackdays with instruction to get your feet wet, and go do it.
Check normiebook or any kind of local sales place you guys might have and look for preprepped racebikes, there's no such thing as a turnkey race/track bike, but it'll be close and they're dirt cheap. Some guy in my org was selling a prepped, running SV650 for $1k to any new racer last weekend, good dude.

that's why they entered LMDh. Hyundai/Genesis don't have much racing history other than TCR and rally. (the Hyundai Accent WRC car sucked if I recall, the newer Hyundai WRC machines are pretty good) you must understand that manufacturers enter racing to improve their brand image. that's why Cadillac is doing LMDh and F1, the brand is seen as grandpa cars.

you need to age verify for everything age restricted, bc muh children. In practice that means sites hosting mixed content need to verify you to see anything (like wikipedia or youtube for example)
In theory its about safety, in reality it's another level of government control and spying on users.
For the government handled verification, data is passed to a palantir like us corpo ofc. Basically an easy way to build a more precise and constantly up to date face recognition db for glowies.
The uk is on a roll on clamping down on digital liberty, they forced apple to turn of backup encryption and tried to wrangle signal into giving it up as well

idk if any of you Anons have worked in manufacturing car parts or manufacturing in general but it's fucking bullshit. really nice quality parts take time and care to make. companies like Stellantis/Chrysler want it done fast, not done with quality. if Americans don't make the parts fast enough, they are more than happy to send the job to another country with lower paid workers. salivating at the thought of it, even.

Can confirm.
We need to rebuild American manufacturing. If (((they))) paid American workers better wages, the workers could afford to buy stuff made in America.
Also, stop diluting the fucking labor market, faggots.
This is how we can make American cars worth buying again.

Bristol is the closest to me and I missed this year because it was way earlier on the schedule. I was just talking about the local strip. It's pretty kino on a Friday night because it's a test and tune for everyone. Not only do you have the guys that are going to compete later in the weekend, but anyone can make a pass in anything so you can see some pretty neat cars. It'salso only $10.
>>150249050
It would be pretty hard to have a bad time unless you have a hangover or something. It might increase your enjoyment if you watch some races or at a couple of passes so you can understand what's going on. Also, it's not like most other races where the car that crosses the finish line first wins every time. This video can help you understand the scoring.

Those are definitely my two favorites, too, but pretty much all motorsports are fun to go see in person.
I have a hard time getting people to go with me sometimes, so if you have an opportunity to build a relationship with a potential future family member it might be worth getting into NHRA at least a little to strengthen that relationship. I bet it wouldn't be that hard to sell him on IndyCar or IMSA, especially if you go to a race together.

I completely agree, and I would add Argentina and Brazil to that list. It's weird that they mostly follow the northern hemisphere racing schedule. I really wish they would run in the northern hemisphere's winter season so we could have year round vrooms. It would help increase their popularity, too, but they literally don't seem to care. Even with SVG's popularity and success in NASCAR, Fox doesn't appear to be at all interested in bringing Supercars to the US, even as late night filler or on a tape delay. That's weird as hell to me.

IDC about the road going models, they literally have a really small effect on the team. The biggest effect I can recount from the last 30 years was that pug engineers hated the decision to go with the 206 and not the 306 for the wrc as it was smaller and a nightmare packaging wise. Then the 307 with it's welded together roof

Germs began to limit *some* their cars to a top speed of 155 mph in the 70's to preempt the government from putting speed limits on the Autobahn.
IIRC it's very much a here-and-there thing that's dependent on trim, options, whether the manufacturer feels like adhering to it and stuff, but there were third-party services to delimit cars with limiters as well.

A lot of those short track races are getting linked on acez and they are really quite good. Raceday has fallen victim to that which our fren and savior, spreadsheet anon, has refused to, which is including too much shit.
All the reputation Michelin had built in my mind from dominating endurance sports car racing has been undone by being an absolute garbage spec tire supplier.
>excuse for putting slide control in MotoGP was Kwabnaia's crash at Barcelona in 2023
>crashed then because he got one of the Shitelins that sent Horegay to the moon before the season started and also almost got him t-boned and run over by the entire field today
Not that I wouldn't accept this as an excuse to get rid of the holeshot devices because they make the bikes spin instead of wheelie too.

there is no at least contemporary example for a single suppier tyre being good because the company has the wrong incentive.
In a tyre war they need to build good tyres. If they have an exclusive single supplier contract, their incentive is to make the cheapest shit they can get away with as there is no competition

The more I read this book, the more I think NASCAR is faggots for not running at Road Atlanta. So far, it's been about running shine from Dawsonville to Atlanta and Braselton is just a few miles off the direct path.

The Camaro is also objectively better than the Boss 302, but I just keyed in on Mustangs as a kid. You really can't go wrong with anything that rand in the original Trans-Am series.

Yeah, as incredible as 343 mph in 1,000 ft is, I keep being even more boggled by 304 mph at the eighth.
I bought an autographed Kenny Bernstein jacket just earlier today, coincidentally enough, and people went nuts when Big Red went 301.70 at 1,320 ft. Grubnic/Collins/Force are now **going faster than that in half the distance**.

Road Atlanta and Atlanta motor speedway are too close together, they'd cannibalize each other's ticket sales. I, as someone who's been there for petit le mans many times, also don't think road atlanta could handle a nascar sized crowd either. There's just not enough parking, there are virtually zero grandstands to speak of (only a few small sets of bleachers on the outside of the pit straight), and the logistics of that many people coming and going from the circuit would be a nightmare. The track itself is located on a highway that's only two lanes. I could easily see both ways being backed up all the way to i985 and i85.

>Then the 307 with it's welded together roof
they say the 307 had "structural rigidity" problems and i think 13-16 m more bars to compensate for this. If someone explains to me what structural rigidity is, i will be grateful and you will receive a very low quality photo of Ove Andersson in the pool

if i remember right they werent prototypes dressed as road cars yet
the "welded" roof is probably related to the fact that they based the wrc on the cc version instead of the vanilla hatchback
aboout the 306, it was the f2 car and they were slowly killing the current ruleset because they couldnt handle a "2nd" tier car being faster than the top series
everything else is speculation unless theres a source for it
i guess thats was just a good excuse to post one of the most beautiful rally cars of all time, at the very least a fav of mine

I know the story and how the FIA "forced" Peugeot to weld the roof or how Christian Loriaux (while at Ford) was in charge of balancing the weight and all that but: "structural rigidity" is a concept that I think I understand but I couldn't explain because I'm not an engineer and I'm stupid

how is it any different than cars 30 years ago requiring you purchase arbitrary trim levels to unlock specific engine modes? practically all modern car tuning amounts to plugging a computer into the ECU to change the engine timing which automatically unlocks 20-50 horsepower depending on the car.

Same goes for Pocono.
They just put down cones to split the road into three lanes using the shoulders, then have all three lanes running south from I-80 to the track before the race, and north from the track back to the Interstate after the race.

structural rigidity is... how rigid is the chassis. More rigidity is better. If the chasses flexes/warps more (when less than 4 wheels touching the road for example) it's not just impacting performance, but can decrease reliability, put more strain on components, etc...
Back then even though most of homologation requirements were abolished in 97, the chassis needed to come from a production model still, so by the rules the 307CC was out of bounds, they would had to use the 3 door hatchback version (they had a proto of that btw) but somehow peugeot was able to convince FIA to let them weld the roof together and enter a coupe body style
>>150277085
Dunno where I read it, but it wasnt some anon rando posting it, but the engineers wanted to use the 306 as a base for the wrc as well because it was an already proven weapon in F2 form and it was more ideal because it was bigger, but marketing people wanted to promote the newly released 206 which was smaller than what was allowed by regulations so again, Peugeot somehow convinced FIA to include the bigger bumper of 206RC in the measurements instead of the bare chassis (SEAT engineers must have had a meltdown seeing this btw)
but the chassis was still smaller than the 306 and yet the engineers had to put even more shit into it (4WD, active suspension elements, etc) and it was a packaging nightmare

I'm getting retarded returns from Brave/Google AI saying last night's 14th was a tie for his best with the Coke 600. Maybe its too many qualifiers because right here on the NASCAR website it says he got 12th at Martinsville last year. Was THAT his best oval finish?

You can door a guy into the wall, you can "move someone up the track" to get him out of the way, but you can't, as the leading car, position yourself where you want on the track?

Also, Xfinity and ARCA clash on Friday? Cam the fak on, man.
I am retarded, but even I can figure out:
>Friday
ARCA ~5:00 pm
Trucks ~7:30 pm
>Saturday
WEC/IMSA ~ =2:00 pm
Xfinity ~>/= 5:00 pm
>Sunday
F1 ~ 10:00 am, for the Euros
Indycar ~2:00 pm
Cup ~4:00-5:00 pm
NHRA~7:00-8:00 pm
Aside from F1 and WEC taking place across vastly different time zones, what is wrong with this general scheduling, beaide fagball sports, that is.

It was pretty decent, but Crews just dominated the whole thing, but there were some good battles in the top 10 and the track is ultra kino, so that was fun. It's one of the oldest race tracks in America, hosting automobile races since 1910. I wish Trucks, Xfinity and Cup would run there, but they don't have pussy pads on the walls, so there's no chance of that happening.
Sprint cars would be a blood bath.

tubular chassis is what we have now in rally1 and what group b was after a point. when the chassis is basically a frame welded together from tubes (in this case basically rollcage = chassis) and the outer shell is just hanged to it but have no real stress holding part. So the car only resembles the road car from the looks of it, but the actual chassis is completely custom made.
Rally2 will be also tube frame based in a couple of years

If NASCAR wants to reset points for the final ten races, whatever. Let them do it. But don't do it for 16 drivers. If you look at the standings, there's only 5 or 6 drivers that are worthy of the NASCAR cup.
Byron leads in points. Elliot has the best average finish. Hamlin has the most wins. (I'd include SVG if he had 1 oval win). When Larson isn't finishing in last, he's probably the best driver on the track. Bell has 3 wins and is right behind Elliott in average finish. Somehow Blaney is fifth in points so throw him in too.
Elliot, Larson, Bell, Byron, Hamlin, Blaney. Reset those 6 and let them fight it out for the final ten races. We don't need 16 drivers

just make it the top 10 in points if you wanna go that route, hell make it top 8 and a wild card for the most wins outside of the top 10 if you really need a meme driver gimmick, that's still a quarter of the field

Should average finish be used to decide the winner of a racing series? Average finish and points almost always correlate with each other.
And if that's the case, NASCAR has only had the correct champion a handful of times in the past 20 years

Personally, I remain a fan of the most-wins approach, with average finish as a tiebreaker. I hate the idea of guys who can't close the deal still becoming champions because they second and thirded the field to death, the way Matt Kenseth did all those years ago. Winning should be all-important, because its all that matters to me, and all that should matter in any sport.
But I don't think there's no value in demonstrating consistency, which is why I like that as the tie-breaking metric. Because if you've got two guys neck-and-neck for the championship in a year, and one is checkers or wreckers every week and the other is always right there at the end even if he isn't bringing it home every week, you can draw two conclusions. Maybe Crashy is putting more into trying to win. But maybe he's going beyond his talent, and Mr. Consistency is demonstrating the greater driving prowess. I reckon the latter is more often true.
But that assumes you want your championship to be a true measure of team quality, and not a tool to drive audience investment. If what you want is eyes on your series the whole way through, you really can't beat the meme chaseoffs. It's never settled til the end of the season, so while some folks will tune out because their favorite has been knocked out of contention, plenty will stick around just to find out who wins it this year. It also succeeds at manufacturing drama, as Ross and Autism have demonstrated in recent years.

you can't top-down create a fanbase, that's the mistake these upstart sanctioning bodies keep making. you need an established fanbase that you can then unify. NASCAR didn't come from nothing, it was the unification of about a dozen different tracks and promoters coming together and agreeing to make a single ruleset and calendar so they could build off each other.

The whole point was that Rockingham was there and stock cars are cheap so they should hold some races for them. The track got sold and the new owners decided they didn't give a fuck so there wasn't much point in having ASA late models on road courses when Britain has 9000 other series already.

Rockingham wasn't that good for stock cars anyway. low banked superspeedways never are, see: Chicagoland and Kansas. those are much better for indycars, which is indeed what Rockingham (and Lausitz in Germany) were originally built for. I'd say you need at least 20Β° of banking for good stock car action. Short tracks being a different beast.

looking into it, England is roughly the same size as North Carolina, and NC has 30+ paved and dirt oval tracks ranging in size from β
mile quarter midget tracks all the way up to Charlotte. England has maybe 5.
