The problem with nascar is they jump around too much now. I dont like Logano but him pretty much always in that Pennzoil scheme makes him so much easier to spot then the others. That of course goes down the road of how much nascar is struggling to get those sponsors for the full season, but its something thats hurt the drivers for sure. IndyCar has the same problem and it's a massive barrier to new fans. This is one area where F1 really gets it right. The team/primary sponsor is far, far more recognizable than the car number and both cars (usually) being the same color week to week helps easily identify them. I don't think NASCAR needs to have team colors or anything, but it would be really nice if they could at least attract full season sponsors like back in the day. The Dupont/GM Goodwrench/Tide/M&Ms etc liveries were so iconic and easy to spot even in the wide shots that showed the entire field that you immediately knew who you were looking at and what was going on. Now I find myself looking at the pylon and counting places all the time just to figure out who is where. It makes it extremely hard for someone new to racing to identify and pick a car/driver to follow and that's not good since NASCAR is likely to be someone's first experience with racing.

I always seen the lack of full season sponsor to be a symptom of the team not being in good shape.
At least in other championship always the poorfags turned up with 99 small sponsor stickers on the cars bc every sponsor chipped in with a small money but they were not able to find a proper big sponsorship.
Also for someone not following the sport day and night or wanting to get into it, most of the cars frequently changing livery makes the whole thing way harder
