No, the BMW has nicer interior. Transmission is pretty impressive, but I can't give up a true manual. Look for a nicely optioned 997.2 would be my recomendation. Insurance payout for them is almost double the current market price, tons of fun, and you can upgrade them with a lot of the GT3 parts to modify if you want, not to mention aftermarket.

So long as you don't need to really tow anything, sure. I've owned three of them, first one had over 250k miles on it. The 4WD models handle great, but you can feel the extra weight up front. Try to find a 3.8L model if possible. Don't be shy'd away from the convertables either, the 997 specifically was designed as a convertable from the start and you can feel it when driving, the chassis doesn't flex.
