You can make actually static copies of stuff and index them in a text file or something. That helps with organization of local files. Tens of thousands of files uncompressed in a torrent can cause the client to be laggy when dealing with that torrent, not the case with IPFS. Also, IPFS can work well with dynamic content. It is helpful for small "trivial" files where torrents are mostly for "significant" stuff/collections. Other reasons. Websites pinata.cloud and web3.storage can help seed CIDs.

I saw that merely doing the "weighted page spread" method is probably worse as there is no grabbing pressure spreading the pages via weights.
Oh, and it's easier to do this: each photo contains the page in a rectangle in such a way that you don't have to open GIMP to edit the image file so that it looks better. Downside: output is not super fantastic. With this method, you don't have to open any GUI image manipulation program to modify images.
