Hmmm, gee. I wonder why.

I don't use it for archiving because it will disappear one day, but I use it for as a torrenting alternative often. Cheap, instant downloads about 75% of the time, dead torrents are often immediately available there, free downloading from Rapidgator primarily. I can usually find Rapidgator links to dead torrents and help revive the torrents.

why don't they just move their servers? surely that would solve this issue right?

It would be better not to poke the bear (movie industry) in this instance. Cucking and putting in DMCA regulations is pretty much they only thing they can do. I never understood using it for torrents though, it seems to fuck with the swarm similar to the Chinese service Xunlei.

bc you dont have to keep your pc on to dl a shitty torrent at 2-3mb/s cause the seeders have sht uploads. you can dl it onto real debrid then dl it from real debrid servers

fyi if you request a refund you'll get it automatically even if you've used the account and it's over 14 days. it's only partial though. alldebrid is in the same jewrastriction of France so I'd sit and wait before jumping to another service

Torbox seems like a worthy alternative to RD once they get their servers together. I'm not joining their Discord for updates though.
All of the other debrid sites are also based in France which means they'll probably get fucked next.

maybe. but the fact that the entire thing seems to be created by one guy who runs an anime profile pic discord server is concerning. also the influx of normies could be bad. personally, i think im just gonna stick with RD until my subscription runs out, and then consider getting a cloud seedbox for my PTs and some form of plex setup. it's annoying having to wait for it to download but a cloud seedbox should be able to download anything in a few minutes anyways. also always good to have usenet as a backup. Prime RD was good while it lasted.

I've been using TorBox for a few months now and they've grown a lot. Usenet for the pro tier is unbeatable. Free week of whatever TorBox plan you purchase if you use a referral code: 40b86eb0-e7c5-42d1-9c87-ab912dedd5c9

Their usenet index recently switched to be powered by orion. You can just use your own indexers and either upload the nzb or download directly using a client like sabnzbd. They give you credentials to their backbone. I've been using it for private trackers as well and haven't ran into any issues yet.

many fewer torrents are now cached. people on r/realdebrid and r/stremioaddons are discussing adding to the cache, which is problematic, because drawing attention to this debridmediamanager re-caching strategy may backfire.

Never understood how Usenet works, I know I have to pay for it. Does Torbox act as the provider?

The problem with Usenet is that you have to be logged in to pages to get the PW. and to get to these pages / forums you have to know someone who is already registered.
As an outsider, you don't have access to the really good and interesting things

Most PTs will probably ban you for using Torbox. Especially if the torrent gets cached.

I like torbox so far, but it's way slower than RD. I'll just keep using RD until it's finally no longer useable

I haven't used Usenet in 20 years. I thought it had mostly died out. What is currently available?

Tell us more? I used Newsleecher since about 2008, but they went to hell a few years ago after an alleged database crash. What's the best app/provider/indexer/nzb search option now?

Usenet is like premium torrenting nowadays. Reliable max speed downloads on everything. Assuming you're not in some hyper-specific private torrent tracker then odds are both Usenet and torrenting are going to have mostly the same content.

>best app
I use SabNZB but there's a bit of setup involved. Most providers will provide you with something basic or some reskinned 3rd party one.

>best provider
Really just whatever you can get for cheap. I got a $30/yr plan with Newshosting on black friday and it's great. R*ddit is usually the place to find them. You can get autistic about backbones and shit but it really doesn't matter most of the time.

>best indexer
Either NZBGeek or NZBfinder.ws is probably the best for most people. Either one should cover the vast majority of what you're looking for. Drunken Slug is great too if you can get an invite (not too hard).
