What can I say, overall, I liked it, it's not good, but I'm the type of guy that prefers something different to something good most of the time.
I think that they lacked good editing/direction, every segment felt so drawn out that at the end you end up disliking the sketch even if the initial idea had potential.

Just finished The Great War after ignoring it for a decade.
Its actually better than Extreme Peace but its still hilariously bad but in a wholesome way. They just improvising and riffing the whole movie while never breaking character or smirking at the camera.
The problem with Extreme Peace is it feels sterile and the editing is lazy. Also Sam & Nick acted like they were too good for the show while the paid actors just have to sit there and listen to their tryhard ironic spiteful humor like they are below their status. In The Great War you can tell they are having a blast with the wiggers while having sincere improv with that works with the story. That's why Eric & Charls were the best part of the season because they interacted with the actors and the sets. The Great War had sam and jet riffing for an hour next to a pilot in a helicopter tour and it somehow had more editing than extreme peace. That's what its missing from Extreme Peace, MDE editing. It has IMAX cameras and A+ audio equipment but it doesn't have the humor or the bizarreness of MDE. You are just staring at Nick go on & on & on and nothing is happening. In The Great War, it had a crab getting hacked, a soldier trying to heal sam's hands with skateboarding tricks and a shitty confusing storyline that its impossible to keep up. The last episode is so fucking good, it ends with them telling their android that the president is not going to give him a medal of honor because hes a robot. Legendary episode.

Definitely needs a director who does more than "set up the shots and just let them do their thing", Alex Schultz puts it. Obviously Ruse was leaps and bounds a much better director in terms of technical ability, but his absence has had a glaring effect on everyone's performance (mainly Nick and Sam, as you say). Those two are just not as versatile as they like to believe. They would benefit from some creative direction especially from someone like Ruse who knows they're individual strengths and weaknesses, and can help guide them or shape their characters. And there's a trust with that, like Nick knows Ruse won't steer him wrong and he can try different things and whatnot.
