>>95841034>>Previous thread:
Why does GW has a DwarfMarines scale for 40k tabletop but a perfect lore accurate scale on every other media ? (All videos, videos games, series, movies)
>>95846039>fat-shaming should really be brought into the hobbyIt should really be brought back into society, too many people are far to comfortable being obese.
>>95846042>make bigger marines>immediately upscale all regular humans as well, negating the entire point of changing the size of marine modeljust another one of James patented genius moves
>>95846042Regular humans would have to be too small, or everything else would be far too big.
have any of my games bros had the pleasure of playing the twist mission and/or the asymmetrical setups yet?
shits fucked imo, the asymmetrical setups would be great for a thematic game but those twist cards can really skew a game depending on the match up
>>95846042Actually in those media marines are oversized, because people who like nu40k and numarines have some inferiority complex and want to be HUUUUUUGH, Hugh-mongoose!
>>95846042Because the shit on the table has never been 1:1 scale with other models.
Like rhinos are a perfect example of this, they are way smaller than they should be when compared to marines. They are just scales down so you can fit then more easily on the table.
Also the fact is that the 40k tabletop has always been an abstraction, what you see on the table is only an approximation of what is really happening on the battlefield.
>>95846036 (OP)cuckstodes fans deserved to be punished for their terrible taste by being hit with femstodes
>>95846036 (OP)No TQ?
>TQWho are the fittest IRL faction collectors?
>spend hours trying to paint backdrop for tournament display board.
>looks like shit.
You would think after doing a hobby that is all about painting and making things, I would have accidentally learned some artistic skills...
>>95846070human models are mostly still scaled accurately with the old models, it's just kasrkin are scaled to old kasrkin, which were tall as fuck
>>95846120A big part behind painting is drawing. When you paint a mini, the โdrawingโ has already been done for you.
>>95846107>cuckstodes fans deserved to be punished for their terrible taste by being hit with femstodesRarely the truth is ever spoken here, but no truer words have ever been spoken.
>>95846042Kasrkin are like a head taller than normal Cadians. Because of reasons.
>>95846120Just trace it, people do it all the time, even for Golden demon
>>95846098>They are just scales down so you can fit then more easily on the table.Implying that is the reason for their size, and not just the fact that it was cheaper and easier for GW to make them smaller back in the day. This actually is the one thing they really fixed with the ugly primaris vehicles.
why do vehicle models with treads always have them exposed? like the lemun russ tank for example
490 KB
Do Genestealer Cults still "spread their seed" by hypnotic luring, pheromones and sexy times + genestealers kiss and ovipositors, or has that been ret-conned a bit and make more politically correct since the 90's, the old lore was perhaps seen as a bit rapey and non-con? Like I know they're their own wee army now, just not really their lore.
>>95846074Honestly, scale is meaningless because they're never going to unfuck the fucking vehicles. They'd either have to make the infantry way too tiny or make the tanks too Xbox huge to play on a reasonably sized table.
>>95846137i really can't see it as anything other than the venomcrawler with a gaping jawed asshole
>>95846081If it was made by GW or has GW's stamp of approval, it is canon.
Giant marines in SM2 were approved by GW and therefore are canon.
>>95846146To give them a very specific look, similar to WW1 tanks.
>>95846171at the end of the day its always fetishists championing this kind of thing under the guise of virtue
>>95846157I don't care about canon, especially when it contradicts itself on Monday and pretends in never happened on Tuesday
>>95846149It's still rape.
GSC still spread primarily through rape, GW just doesn't mention it because rape is icky and hard to sell to normie audiences.
>>95846137Looks grim as fuck anon. What do you use for the blood effects?
This was the last mini I finished (although the base isn't done in this photo). I tend to get close to finishing something and then I move on, so I have a tonne of shit that isn't quite finished now
>>95846178And it's based. Coomers won.
In lore terms does anyone in the galaxy stand any chance whatsoever against a Necron fleet? Or would it be like a Thunder Child vs Martian tripod situation where even though the humans are basically just spear-chuckers in comparison, a big hunk โo steel still hurts like hell if it hits you no matter how advanced you are? Is that what a Necron ship commander feels like when he sees a broadside of macro cannon shots coming at him? โLetโs try not to be hit by thatโฆโ Also is it a matter of the technological mismatch being so great that a lot of the Neconโs advanced tech is useless against primitive opponents? Like, quantum field jammers with no quantum sensors to jam, disentanglement beams which are a waste of energy disentangling many meters of plasteel, etc?
>>95846189we need a return of augustus' horny police
>>95846179>I don't care about canonToo bad, canon doesn't care about your feelings.
Giant marines are accurate and here to stay.
Stay mad.
>>95846042Those models are lore accurate scale retard. You're just don't know the lore. The shit on the right side is non-canon.
>>95846194Even if I am taken they will never stop my coomin'
>>95846157>If it was made by GW or has GW's stamp of approval, it is canon.Proof?
>>95846203Cadians aren't 7ft tall.
The model heights are inaccurate.
>>95846211Ease of destruction
>>95846183you want to turn a light on in your basement anon?
>>95846195>giant marines are accurateBut not canon!
>>95846210Kasrkin are specifically said to be the biggest, strongest guys on Cadia, the top tier special forces of a whole planetary population, so they're all like 6'6 and those models map to that height.
>>95846151The board should also be bigger, but they want it accessible to your average kitchen table, which has reduced in time. Which is also a big comment on affordability of things we used to take for granted. Frankly, I don't even have a kitchen table and just use a stool at my kitchen island.
>>95846193BfG2 and stuff like the World Engineโs destruction would indicate that yes a Necron fleet can be taken out. They donโt usually have large numbers of ships. Plasma works best since it slows Necrodermisโ regeneration.
>>95846183UHU glue mixed with Blood for the Blood God technical.
>>95846193>obsolete monitor takes on three fighting machines>destroys two before getting destroyer itselfDoesn't sound so bad.
>>95846210>Cadians aren't 7ft tall. You're right, which is why the cadian models are much shorter than the kasrkin
Nucadians are actually shorter than the old ones lol
manlets worship chaos for height gains
>>95846225Canonized by GW by giving the game a stamp of approval and not telling the devs to change the height.
>>95846228But it is never said anywhere that cadians are or kasrkin are 7ft tall or 6'6" even.
What you made up is just fanfiction, only thing the fluff says is that kasrkin are a bit taller than average due to some gene enhancements, that's it. However it never specifies how big they are.
Again, the models are inaccurate.
>>95846228Nta but that's been debunked a long time ago
I remember when the cadian KT came out and people coped about them being huge by claiming it was some LOOOOORE thing when it wasn't.
But sure man, go ahead, pull out your lore, let's see it
>>95846236Kasrkin are cadians.
Kasrkin aren't 7ft tall either.
>>95846253Giant marines aren't canon, every instance of them not being giant shows GW's stamp of approval
>>95846234The Martians werenโt soldiers, they were wildlife workers and the tripods were like farm tools, not war machines.
>>95846036 (OP)Giga Brigette my beloved
>>95846267>Giant marines aren't canonThey are canon.
GW's stamp of approval is on SM2, that means it is canon. You can try coping about it but it won't change reality.
Marines are giants and always have been.
>>95846236>This shitty scale againEverytime someone posts it I laugh, it's a mocking kind of laugh
>>95846268NTA but the tripods were literally called 'fighting machines' in the book. Granted, that was just a human name for them
When are we getting total war: the war of the worlds, it would be way better than total war 40k
>>95846042Right picture is just a manlet in the foreground with a high camera angle that makes a background figure look even taller because his feet start "higher up" when you angle down like that. Absolute retard.
Marines are 7 feet tall. Primaris are like 7 and a half, and that's the actual height you get when you measure an intercessor mini and convert it from 28mm scale, so it's accurate.
>>95846277>SM2>video game over miniaturesKek
>>95846253>only thing the fluff says is that kasrkin are a bit taller than average due to some gene enhancements>source: my ass

>>95846346>T-Rex pattern Terminators when
>>95846258Says they are selected for size and strength from the best of the best of Cadia, pretty clear that means they're going to be tall guys, 6'6 men exist IRL retard, let alone on a planet where everyone is bred for war in a eugenics program.
>>95846347BIGGER MARINES IS BETTER AND IT FITS THE LORE EVEN THOUGH MARINES ARE SOMETIMES 'ONLY' 6'10
>>95846330You wash resin casts to wash off the mold releasing agent.
>>95846367Trooscalers are so fucking cringe man, holy shit that retarded conversion
>>95846137Working on another banner, what should I write on it?
>>95846369Gotcha, cause it makes it so primer or paint doesn't cling as well, if the agent is still covering it? Do I literally use soap? Do you go whole sprue or once the model is built?
>>95846355Iโd still buy those Space Marine Heroes Terminators if they were availableโฆ.
>>95846391warm water, soap, may as well do it on the sprue since it's easier to dry
Retards who think marines are like 10 feet tall miss the entire point of marines. That would actually suck for them and make them useless. The main thing that makes marines special is they're a battle tank the size of an infantryman. If you put them in open fields you're better off just using actual tanks, so the only thing they're good for is cityfighting, boarding actions, going into tunnels and shit like that. They're super high-tier shock troops meant to fight indoors. If you make them so tall they can't even fit in these places anymore, you've just made shittier, weaker tanks that are way harder to replace, because gene-seed doesn't roll off of a factory floor.
Fucking morons.
>>95846193Oh yes, Battlefleet Gothic tabletop is canon and the Necron in that arent overwhelmingly hard to deal with, you just got to focus them down one at a time, they're expensive points wise so you dont have to face too many of them, they're rather weak to bombers, torps and boarding actions, no turrets, you can bait out their starpulse by slinging torps from a few frigates or something. Splitting their fire between arcs also somewhat cripples their effectiveness.
Nova cannons are still good too, as always!
>>95846384stop it anon you are making us all look bad with your crazy freehand stuff
>>95846268If the fighting-machines weren't for fighting and were ackshually just tools, then what were the crab-like handling-machines?
I'm stuck between spending my last 100 points on a naked trio of Eradicators or a Gravis Captain with Artificer armour

>>95846447Half the time in the early Heres Horussy books they are out of their armour wrestling in cages and stuff. And I think they weren't in battle plate during the big opera in Fulgrim either, but I could be wrong. But yeah, they do take it off.

>>95846221You could consider that weaponry in the 41st Milennium is so powerful that covering the track up with a bit of steel sheeting wont do shit anyway, so may as well make it easier to fix rather than adding weight and unnecessary extra panels to unbolt.

>>95846193>>95846410>>95846433BFG is not canon. Only elements of it. Newcron ships, for exampl,e have shields.
Anyway, Necron fleets are no longer OP. The Imperials are giving them a good fight in the Pariah Nexus despite being outnumbered and weakened by the Stilling. In the Indomitus novella, a single marine strike cruiser took out several Necron light ships.
You can always tell that Necron wankers are secondaries or newfags since they are not on the "pulse" of the setting. They go with outdated lore they heard from Loretubers.
>>95846738>How are nids?Fucked if I know, I've never met a tyranid BFG player! :D
>>95846738>Also how does the game play in general? It plays a bit like being the admiral who's absolutely convinced he's got this shit in the bag right up until turn three and four and the shit hits the fan. The opening turns are a slow churn of long-range pot-shots, somewhat glacial manoeuvring, and watching your massive torpedo salvos drift majestically off into empty space because you forgot your opponent could also turn. Then, it all goes sideways: ships are suddenly in close quarters, macro-cannon broadsides are flying everywhere, blast markers are piling up, and someone's flagship has exploded after a single lucky critical and its probably your own. When your not squinting at fire arcs or digging through the rulebook for that one obscure rule clarification, it genuinely feels like commanding city sized cathedral-warships in a fleet engagement. It's more about clever movement and timing than sheer overwhelming firepower, so when your perfectly executed pincer and torpedo attack actually does work (for once), it's immensely satisfying but don't be surprised when the Nuffle decides to spit in your face regardless on the next broadside. It's a brilliant game, if you've got the patience for somewhat crunchy rules, you'll love it (although compared to 40K, its fairly simple). Just don't expect it to be quick, or remotely fair, it really will punish you if you are new to the game and you optimistically fuck up your special orders.

>>95846896>>95846864Thats because nulore making everything equal makes it less interesting. Theres a reason why Halo's Covenant War is so interesting as a setting, Humanity is so hopelessly outgunned it adds natural gravitas to any fleet engagement. If Imperial ships can nuke necron ones just fine it's just a space war like any other. Asymmetry is a key part of the spicy sauce that is mankind against a hostile galaxy narratives.
>>95847214Rhino height: 3.6 metres.
Space marine height: 2 metres.
Clearly somethingโs out of whack there, Rhino should be about 130% the size it currently is.
>>95847232The sergeant rides shotgun (on the left, it's right hand drive because bongs).
>>95846107Femstodes are actually cool and fit the faction well though. If it's noble children being converted than its the nobility that matters, not the sex. I like giga ingrid. I would be extremely pissed if they made female space marines, but Custodes aren't space marines and it actually has narrative and aesthetic utility to differentiate them from marines more. Custodes aren't practical but expensive luxurious super humans, unlike marines who hare extremely efficient workhorses.
>>95847214There's a better version.
>>95847260Yea, they said that in 1992 you newfag. None of the Imperium / Marine vehicles are scaled for the miniatures. True scale they would be much bigger, but also more expensive and impractical for the board game part of the hobby.
>>95847260Yes. Exactly.
Every video game and series has the right rhino size tho.
Only the plastic one is 1:75 instead of 1:60.
>>95847259Zoomers wont even know what that collection of ceiling decorations (just add string!) in your picture even is. My nephew cant even comprehend a landline that isnโt wireless or why you would want one. :D
>>95847260>Average human height, 1.8m>M113 APC height, 2.5mOut of scale, should be 4 meters

So a CSM Sorcerer can't lead a group of allied Rubrics? Isn't that a bit weird?

>>95847329>Can be powered by electricity >runs on electric motors in a pinch>still uses some weird 4 way direct-drive driveshaft lockable diff configuration for normal running.Man they really are tech-retards in the future, why not just make it like a diesel electric locomotive, only the diesel bit is replaced with these "adaptable thermic combustor reactors"? Rip all that extra unnecessary shit out.
>>95847374Weren't they based on tractors? I imagine a lot of that stuff was for low range farm shit
>>95846193In the Word Bearers trilogy, a single Necron tomb ship easily destroys a moon-sized DaoT star fort. Granted, it is probably meant to have the firepower of an entire fleet since it is massive and flues solo.
>>95846873How hard is it for more "melee" and boarding armies to play?
>>95847381Nope. Predators even were actual DAoT era battle tanks.
>>95847340>Or... OR the current trannycrons aren't a big a threat as they used to beDid you not read my post? Thats exactly what I'm complaining about.
Overpowered Necrons is more narratively interesting and fits their personality well. It lets you tell Imperial perspective stories about impossible battles and lets you make the victories extremely hard fought and filled with le grimderp overwhelming loss which is the whole reason to be into 40k in the first place.
If I wanted sanitized and equitable war zones I would read star wars novels or some shit (yucky)
>>95847374Electric engines are shit, it literally says they are the backup of the backup.
>>95847239Have fun brother, AWOO!
>>95847369welcome to 10th edition hoe
>>95847406don't modern tanks use hybrid engines so they can shut off the turbine when they need stealth
>>95847369Its because the cult legion datasheets in CSM are basically there as allies. I agree its a bit awkward but they dont let you take a Tsons specific sorcerer to lead them so the lore would be they are loners to a generic chaos warband from the tsons who are their own seperate thing. Be grateful they have the Heretic Astartes keyword at all so strats can work on them. If it was how Agents work they would have no keywords and you could use no detachment relevant starts on them.
>>95846193Necron ships are all mega elites. But they can be overwhelmed, specially if necron leadership is not up to the task or they are controlled by their autonomous spirits, which are too rigid to adapt to battles in time.
Rest of the time necrons just have the better everything tech, their basic cannons are devastating and their fighters and bombers move like the crazed gravity defying death machines they are.
>>95847374GW writers and designers are quite obviously not engineers. And they never have been.
>>95847408ugly models. ywnb on the fridge
>>95847416Yes, some, but again that's a backup.
Batteries are mostly important for electronic components and that's it
>>95847409It's OK the solution was revealed to me in a dream.
10 traitors instead of 20 lets me switch the 10 legionaries in the rhino for 10 rubrics and for 60 points I also get a floating sorcerer that is sure to attract a lot of bullets
1995 points
>>95847423It actually surprised me they had the Heretic Astartes keyword desu
>>95846406The main thing that makes them special is that they are EXTREMELY low-maintenance in regards to what they do. They can go for very long periods without nutrition or sleep, eat almost anything, adapt to most environments, take all but the most horrific of wounds and keep fighting etc. And also, they are way more mobile and harder to hit than a tank. But yes, marines are supposed to be ordinarily 7-8 feet tall with outliers like Tyberos.
>>95847441Doesn't it help with cold starts?
>>95847457Mechanicum shits don't give the boys enough ether, also there's some dogma about how it's "tech-heresy" and they'll "addict the machine spirit" or something

>>95847277You're assuming good faith on the part of the people involved in the decisionmaking behind femstodes. There are no actual reasons needed to be for or against the IDEA of it because the REALITY of it is that femstodes are meant to be symbolic of pushing 40k fans out of their own hobby to be replaced by troons, hysterical women and people who don't even play the game.

>>95847449Their real thing is their extreme flexibility. They can do pretty much anything, in every environment. And they are good at it.
>>95847467tier1 is actually the most sensible among them
>>95847395>Predators even were actual DAoT era battle tanks.Man they really overhype the DAoT in the lore then of a Predator is one of the pinnacles of mankinds achievements.
>>95847532Anon, this already says marines 8ft tall.
>>95847536>they really overhype the DAoTblame the power level faggots, the point of having a daot isn't to have techgods but just conventionally sci fi humans at some point of the timeline.
>>95847536we are currently in the information age, yet chinese factories churn out slop on the daily
>>95847526Same reason that if you had gemstones you wouldnโt stat breeding pure blooded Astartes, the process used to make them sterilizes them as well. Custodes, like marines, were just meant to be a stopgap measure until humanity could psionic ally evolve.
>>95847406>Electric engines are shit, it literally says they are the backup of the backup.ah yes, diesel electric is so shit it been the pinnacle engine choice for for freight transportation since the 60's.

>>95847554>the point of having a daot isn't to have techgodswrong again tourist
>>95847467the last one on the right looks like a shoe.
>>95847526You kind of show your lack of understanding of the lore, newfriend. Allow me to enlighten you. Custodes are all hand crafted gene edited superhumans. Marines use a mass producible implanted organ that rewrites your genetic data over several years and produces a space marine with very close DNA to his battle brothers. Custodes are unlike Marines. They have genesmiths who do custom work on their bodies, often from childhood far earlier than the marine transition begins. The Custodes have specific tailored upgrades to their own genomes. Marines require the male genome to work, because the geneseed is mass produced and then replicated in marines bodies by the Progenoid. Custodes can't pass on their augments, because their DNA becomes so unique its as if they are a separate species. Marines are infertile as a result of their augmentations and changes, but can "reproduce" via the Progenoid. While we don't know the state of Custodes genitalia, they would certainly be infertile as the level of changes made to their DNA would make their gametes incompatible with baseline humans or at the very least create unhealthy hybridized humans who would probably have severe health complications similar to real life hybridized animals like Ligers.
Hope that helps.
>>95847536Don't think all the colonies reliant on STCs were using the best stuff available. It's probably why Terra and Mars don't have STCs, because it's like eating MREs in your home. STC was made for colonization. Terra and Mars were already colonized. Rhinos, predators, etc. were used out there because they worked. Like the hilux of the far future. >>95847603Yea. Knights were used at the height of power of the DAOT. Not exactly the most impressive utopian post scarcity technology. Knights are cool, but clearly have massive issues, same with Rhinos. Not the super civilization tech secondaries picture the DAOT being.

>>95847406>>95847564And whatโs diesel electric beaten by? Straight electric, for when you can offload the power generation from the train itself.
The only downside is complexity, which is already rendered null and void by all the techno-babble, multiple redundancy bullshit in this image:
>>95847329If you have direct drive electric motors on your tank in the first place, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to use the engines on board for power generation and just let the electric motors take full responsibility for propulsion. Hell they already have redundancy built in by having 2 on each side. All that extra drive linkages, differential and gearbox bullshit can be thrown out.
>>95846036 (OP)You know what Iโm sick of? People insisting that chapters have to be specifically melee focused or stealth focused.
The Raven Guars do not only use fucking lightning claws, they have an entire armoury and chapter.
Blood angels YES they do have the death company but they also have an entire fucking armoury and chapter. It just fucked me off when people insist you must view chapters as one trick ponies, where in reality if the fucking Raven Guard needed to use a Land Raider to blast down a street they would instead of being le spooky enough splinter cell fags, in face I think it makes for a BETTER setting when chapters actually subvert retarded expectation, when Blood angels actually SHOOT the enemy and Space Wolves use a fucking tank or Ravens just blow shit up with a rocket launcher

>>95847709Knights arent Mechs, they're not even remotely similar.
>>95847685while fanbases an be notoriously stupid and shortsighted, this is also a problem of their rules and depictions. if every art of raven guard is of a marine with lightning claws, then the fanbase will latch on to that. likewise if a chapter's rules are, say for example, +2 S and A on the charge, nobody is going to take bolter marines.
>>95847664knights were normal farming equipment in the dark age
>>95847722>yet Eldar ruled the galaxy up until the Fallthey didn''t
>>95847672Name one DAOT era technology that rivals Necron Necrodermis or Eldar Wraithbone. Even the Emperor had to try to repurpose Eldar webway technology rather than just invent it himself.
The only thing the Imperium does that's genuinely cutting edge on a galactic level is genetic and medical science. And even then the Eldar probably could easily make themselves 9 feet tall roided out super elves if they wanted, but they dont want to because its like primitive to them.
Imperium Fleet technology, small arms, armor, production, space travel, terraforming, computer, etc are all worse than any xenos equivalent.
>>95847709big robots will always be cool
>>95847714Knight lore is that they were used by DAOT colonists. Which is why they all have similar cultures and backstories (their castles are often depicted as being 50% giant beached colony ships).
>>95847596I still say they are genetically compatible because this is scifi and it largely doesn't need to be accurate.
>>95847709Knights were first and foremost tools for colonists way more than for warfare, they were the apex predators of punching giant aliens in the face.
>>95847714Codex: Imperial Knights (8th Edition)
The original Knight Worlds were founded during the Dark Age of Technology, settled by Humanity in its first great stellar exodus. In an event dubbed the Long March, over the course of decades colonization ships reached their pre-chosen worlds. When they arrived however, they found often lethal wildlife and plant-life alike, or devastating meteorological conditions. The founding materials for the colonists were the ship themselves, while they were able to flourish and expand thanks to STC machines. Among the creations of the STC during this time were the first Knight suits to defend against predators and hostile Xenos. The pilots for these suits were carefully chosen, but over extended exposure to their Throne Mechanicum console their concepts of practical self-defense and communal survival was replaced by ideas of authoritarianism, chivalry, and martial honor. Over the decades a feudal system formed, and those protected by the Knights increasingly became vassals to their masters.

>>95847672your idea of daot humans is wrong.
>>95847740So were Battlemechs, they woere originally Industrial Mechs, but soon it was realised they would be great for combat. Lets be real here, GW ripped the lore for Mechs and Titans straight from Battletech.

>>95847104Yeah the Path of the Dark Eldar is a very tight and good read. All of the characters are pretty interesting despite all being Drukhari, and it really gives you a good look at the differences within the culture. Fun concepts like Ailendrach where Mandrakes live, the large amount of pocket dimensions very close to Comorragh proper, Incubi shit. I liked it a lot. The Archon was pretty cool too and I was rooting for him, but Vect is inevitable.
>>95847768Sure, but maybe making stunty knights just made them look too similar to Ork Gargants and the Space Dwarves were too embarrassed to use them?
But realistically, STC are modular, not all STC are going to give the same answer for the same question every time. Any given society might pull very different tools (but equally effective) from an STC depending on their environment. The Votaan didnโt have a feudal mindset, they are clan orientated and meritocratic, having one Kin swanning about over the rest of them in a giant walker might have been seen as off-putting to them, or maybe it was just less efficient for their intended use-cases? Either way, they focussed more of robust infantry and powerful exo-suits given that they werent exactly facing anything that required a Knight scale warmachine to 1vs1 it to bring it down, they focussed on making everyone better and their asteroid mining and exploitation lifestyle more habitable.

How hard is it to just go "Yeah, we see you have been complaining about this since minutes of the package being delivered, so we'll refund your money"? I've been using Ebay for eight years and have never had any issues like this before. Let alone USPS acting like I am a piece of trash and trying to dodge communicating with me/hanging up on me when I called and introduced myself at one point. I am sick and tired of all of this nonsense. Why is it that customers are seen as enemies by these companies/services? I have a spotless record as a buyer and no criminal/legal problems either. $148 will probably not break the people in charge, but it is a significant amount to my broke self.

>>95847849Yea, Dante is a legitimately cool character and I think most of the people who hate on Blood Angels are people who don't read the books or whatever and just hate the vampire/red color scheme while knowing nothing about them. Or maybe the petty factionalism of MY MUHREEN CAN BEAT UP YOUR MUHREEN breeds that type of low IQ fan.

>>95848317people dont like blood angels because they smell of period blood of the mary sue
>>9584830930k marines tend to have more flavour. 40k marines have existed in a weird limbo where in the old art every design was super simple because they hadn't yet made detailed versions of space marines and the new art tends to be overly simplistic so it fits 1:1 to the models.
>>95848309As always the HH schemes are peak.
>>95848327When you look at the actual model it's bizarre
>>95848315I'll give you sanguinary guard and the new sanguinor are really fucking mid, sanguinary guard should be drip incarnate just like the victrix guard since they serve in the same role, and the sanguinor is just a fucking terrible looking centerpiece

the death company dread, however, is a fucking travesty, he should be as cool as the old venerable dread kitsand not just "paint the brutalis black with red Xs"
>>95848351>old venerable dreadI love dreadnaughts I languish everyday that I haven't got either

>>95848341Some of them are just pieces of art
>>95848013>>95847917We get to see a fully complete STC in The Death of Integrity, and it despises modern humans because they murder its crew for not being brainrotted Imperials. But the Votann are obviously tolerable enough to the Votann cores which are complete (though degrading) STCs as well. They all have standardized knowledge so its probably as you say, they just have crafting recipes for everything that can guide humans in reestablishing complex industry on an alien world.
>>95848003No it isn't. Not unless you own every single codex. Just use wahapedia. New recruit and Wahapedia both contain the full rules needed to play your army, and those should be what you are referencing because they aren't outdated and obselete unlike the codex and app. The App often has rules errors and don't let you take tournament legal loadouts or offer ones that aren't legal.
>>95848048>>95848087Just would have been a stronger game with characters that you play, like Vermintide. I know, I know, they wanted to not have people say "it's just Vermintide in 40k!" But actually that would have been better. VT2 is still VERY strong and active, so I don't really get their logic.
>>95848373>that decorated field police emblem Still my favorite callback.
>>95848023Not too much, you want marine pulpers so D2 weapons with a bit of AP so if you have an MEQ style list you should do okay. If they have magnus your one or two big threats should be enough at 2k.
>>95846367Maybe there was a good reason corvus corax killed his mutated reinforcements...
>>95848382while you're mostly correct, the app is fully updated on one thing that wahapedia isn't at this moment: new standard tournament base sizes
DId the old 40k have more people playing the successor chapters? I feel like as a game you're less inclined to play as a successor chapter or as /yourdudes/ as you lose access to all the named characters, primarchs and shit. You can have your own Blood Angels successors, or just play Blood Angels and get access to Mephiston, Dante and other stuff.
Im stuck between starting swarm imperial guard (website that sells 1/dollar a nonprinted guard in their version)..
And starting marines from the starter box set while selling/trading the nid bits. I want lots of flame and termi, ironically.
Which sounds best? both would cost me around 300-600 dollars for a 2k army.
>>95848373>>95848309Where are these from? What books? Fucking amazing
>>95848414>I feel like as a game you're less inclined to play as a successor chapter or as /yourdudes/ as you lose access to all the named charactersI consider that an upside.
>>95848374To be fair, the AI being pissed that the Imperium murdered its crew is pretty understandable.
I do like the small excerpt in the book when it proceeds to absolutely insult the fuck out of the techpriest. Like it's pure vitriol, but kino.
>"Oh spare me your feeble rituals, they are ineffectual, being based upon erroneous assumptions as to the nature of machines. We have no souls, "priest"," said The ship. "Yet another of your specious beliefs.">Plosk's voice stooped. He could not move. The abominable intelligence was in him. numiston stopped, strain on the flesh parts of his face.>The Space Marines aimed their guns at the column. No fire came.>When the Spirit of Eternity spoke again, the machine's voice came from the air and the lips of all the servitors.>"What shall I not tell them? Who are you to tell such as I what to do and what not to do? Once I gladly called your kind "master", but look how far you have fallen!">"Your ancestors bestrode the universe, and what are you? A witch doctor, mumbling cantrips and casting scented oils at mighty works you have no conception of. You are an ignoramus, a nothing. You are no longer worthy of the name "man". You look at the science and artistry of your forbears, and you fear it as primitives fear the night. I was there when mankind stood upon the brink of transcendence! I returned to find it sunk into senility. You disgust me."
>>95848414I feel like people played less successors unless they had dedicated stuff

jimmy space could be shoving white scars decals and bits in every fucking box and people still wouldn't model their stuff as scars because white is a nightmare to paint for people who don't paint
>>95848094no thank you. going play your oops all muhreens game and stay in your containment zone.
>>95848180>ware evil corpos evil?Man, idk anon, its a mystery.
>>95848433I mean I'd like to have my own dudes as well but the way GW is pushing only the "major" legions, you're at a loss by fielding only the generic marines. I wish they released a heavily customizable Chapter Master model of which you can only field if your army lacks a chapter keyword etc., maybe a chief librarian model as well for that purpose? I don't play competitively nor I play marines but it'd be nice if people were motivated to make their own chapters or play as less known ones. It's just Ultramarines/BA/DA now.
>>95848441Damn, I wonder how that would have gone if he met Cawl and not some flunky Tech priest.
>>95848441>AI believes machines don't have soulslmao, wonder how it would change its tune upon encountering the void dragon, vashtorr, or literally any millions of examples of the literal machine spirit working in action
>>95848455>oops all muhreens gameKinda funny considering vast majority of 40k players pick marines anyway
>>95846036 (OP)So I can include a War Dog Stalker in a DG list right?
>>95848210Kroot have an almost unplayable bad detachment that focuses on them. It actually has really good rules, it just doesn't really work. And to play and try it out you need to paint like 120 kroot which is both expensive and very difficult to do. They are quite good on their own in regular Tau though.
If you want to play an almost pure Kroot list its absolutely doable, its just going to be a slog to get all of them painted because they are a huge horde army and they will generally be weaker than almost anything you fight against. Think Agents of the Imperium tier in terms of strength.
>>95848414Depends on what you mean. For most of 40k's history there weren't any chapter specific rules except for the handful of chapters that got their own lists and codexes like wolves or angels. Until 10th named characters were not mandatory so you never missed much by skipping them and in even older editions special characters were considered something you need permission from your opponent, something you take for a special game, far from the standard.

I have a question about Astra Militarum.
Does the "Masters of Camoflauge" really give +2 to a infantry mans armor save?
>ASTRA MILITARUM WALKER and REGIMENT models from your army have the Benefit of Cover. While such a model has the Benefit of Cover for any other reason (e.g. because it is wholly within a RUIN), improve the Save characteristic of that model by 1 (to a maximum of 3+).
>>95848385It does have that though. Each voice is a character, and they have names kind of, like Enforcer Psyker or Loose Cannon vet. They are individual personalities. The dialogue in the game is actually really well written, its just confusing for people who came from Vermintide. The chatter is just as good as in Vermintide.

>>95848428I found some in the Liber Astartes others probably in one of the black books probably the first
>>95848518It's +1 all the time, since they count as having cover all the time. Then if your models are actually placed within cover for real, then the cumulative bonus you receive from being in cover becomes +2. +1 for being in cover, and +1 for that detachment's special rule which states that it stacks cumulatively with normal real cover.
>>95848414>I feel like as a game you're less inclined to play as a successor chapter or as /yourdudes/ as you lose access to all the named characters, primarchs and shit. You can have your own Blood Angels successors, or just play Blood Angels and get access to Mephiston, Dante and other stuff. You know you can paint your 'Blood Angels' however you want. Your Flesh Tearers or whatever can still run Mephiston. Most people who care enough to have lore for their units just write their own lore for the model.
Most common example of this is Celestine. When people take her in tournaments almost every one of them lists them as their own homebrew saint in the army list like Saint Excedra or something.

>>95848481True, but I play it for the diversity. I like marines, but I like the xenos and chaos quite a bit as well. The diversity is what really made me fall into loving 40k in the first place.

>>95848481does 30k even have chaos
>>95848567This is why we're asking for 40k to use the 30k ruleset instead of just playing that game. Rules are great but the 40k setting is better.
>>95848561"When a unit Advances, make an Advance roll for that unit by rolling one D6. Add the result in inches to the Move characteristic of each model in that unit until the end of the phase. Each model in that unit can then make an Advance move by moving a distance in inches less than or equal to this total, but no model can be moved within Engagement Range of enemy models. A unit cannot shoot or declare a charge in the same turn that it Advanced."
funny, RAW I'm not seeing an issue here, either
maybe there's some FAQ or something
>>95848506I would win by marching to GW's offices with assault rifles and grenades and forcing the rules writers to give it Deep Strike and a transport capacity.
>>95848521Egh. I mean yeah you're right. But sticking with one character for each type would give more depth. Like the trooper guys are either Cadian or snarky guy. Don't get me wrong, the game is quite fun and I've played it a decent amount too. But one Ogryn character, one Psyker, hell, maybe 2 for either a male or female for the non-Ogryns. That would be more depth, more tight. Give Ogryn 2 characters where one can talk and is ok at it like this one, and the other is a huge tardo.
>>95848583Yes Sanguinius got fucking killed by a Deamon
>>95848585Nah, there are lots of things that can be improved in 10th but I like detachments and how datasheets are designed.
Adding in wargear costs would be a nice minor improvement. And maybe a shrimplified psychic phase. But genuinely kind of hate the psychic phase in every game its been in, it feels like 10th could have done it better but its better to just include it in other phases of the game.
Found it, under the core rules in explanation of how data sheets are read:
Move (M): This is the speed at which a model moves across the battlefield. If a model has a Move of โ-โ it is unable to move at all. After all modifiers are applied, this cannot be less than 1".
>>95848632>Adding in wargear costs would be a nice minor improvement.>a nice minor improvement.>Completely changing the dynamics of every single vehicles and units that has acces to anything close to a plasmagun or lascannon.>a nice minor improvement.
>>95848632>detachmentsThose exist in 30k too though. I like the idea of them but the implementation in 10th is pretty bad IMO. Part of it is that stratagems exist though.
>and how datasheets are designedWhy exactly? It's one of the things I hate the most of 10th. The modular design of datasheets 40k had until 10th was much better.
>>95848541Or you can paint them as /yourdudes/ and not be tied to any rules change ever.
>>95848645It's minor in the sense that it can be added without rewriting the rest of the game.

>>95848662It is falling apart, it's just so large it's taking very long to do so.
>>95848654>Why exactly? It's one of the things I hate the most of 10th. The modular design of datasheets 40k had until 10th was much better.Like how each datasheet has a few abilities to make them unique. This one has sticky objectives and this one gives rerolls when shooting a unit that killed a friendly unit and this one gets a buff at half strength. Stuff like that, that evokes fluff through game mechanics. I like that type of game design. I think a marriage of the two could be cool though, where there is essentially an upgrade or two for each unit that changes how they work slightly and they are free but mutually exclusive. But that's probably unneeded complexity that doesn't really add much.
>>95848645Weve argued with each other for months. I get it, the lack of wargear cost to you is an unforgiveable sin that you will complain about in every thread for the next 4 years despite not even playing the game.
>>95848477Machine spirit is a half real and half fake thing.
Lot of the time the "machine spirits" are just AI that's been rebranded or it's just weird quirks some piece of tech might have.
Like you need to smack a lasgun decently hard in a certain spot so it properly reloads/starts to cycle the "ammo" again.
>>95848662It has. Many many times. The Imperium has gone through several periods of major reform in the last 12k years.
>>95848696>Like how each datasheet has a few abilities to make them unique.I'm gonna be honest anon that's one of the worst parts of 10th. It sounds cool on paper but in practice it's a mess, usually gamey and uninmersive and way too much to keep track of. Especially if it comes at the cost of wargear and listbuilding being fun and interesting.
>I think a marriage of the two could be cool though, where there is essentially an upgrade or two for each unit that changes how they work slightly and they are free but mutually exclusive. But that's probably unneeded complexity that doesn't really add much. The main issue here I think is that giving that to every single unit is simply too much. Specialists and elits having special rules (usually tied to their wargear) makes sense. Every single unit having 1+ abilities to keep track of not only increases mental load, it tends to make units revolve around said abilities. Look at Eradicators for example.
>immersive

It failing is by the Emperor's design so he can be reborn eventually but in doing so he doesn't endanger humanity's home.
>>95848730>Too much to keep track ofAnon this is how I know you didn't play earlier editions because 6th/7th were far, far worse in that regard
>>95848784Wargear is consistent across units. Not every unit has special wargear with rules. And tying a mechanic to something tangible is a lot more thematic than just giving it to the unit for gameplay with no connection to the reality it's representing.

>>95848730>It sounds cool on paper but in practice it's a mess, usually gamey and uninmersive and way too much to keep track of. Especially if it comes at the cost of wargear and listbuilding being fun and interesting.Meh, I disagree. That's a lot of subjectivity there. I think we just have different tastes anon. I think listbuilding is plenty fun in 10th and my new recruit is filled with probably 50+ army list concepts. I dont think its way too much to keep track of at all, in fact reading through 2E and 3E codexes with all the wargear units can take it feels like there is way more to keep track in old editions than knew ones. My opponent can just tell me "these guys ignore cover and give everyone else who shoots that unit +1 to hit for the rest of the phase" and most of the time it thematically evokes the unit well and thats pretty easy to grock.
2E/3E had limited unit variety, like legitimately just not a lot of datasheets per army and half of them were epic heroes
4th-6th I have zero experience with
7th edition had ridiculous overpowered keywords and terrible balance (havent played this one, just had horror stories told to me from people ITT)
8th-9th edition had 40+ strats per army that was impossible memorize
10th has rubberband balance with armies being blatantly overpowered one week that barely playable the next
At the end of the day it IS a game, so it being gamey doesnt upset me. I dont think 2E 40k was particularly simulationist or immersive, though I liked all the random effect tables. That was something I really enjoyed at 2E. Each edition I've played has clear weaknesses to me. The character of the game comes from the models and paintjob.
>>958488482. It's just me and you.

>>95848821Heresy is also not 7th, especially not this new edition. A big part of the issues with 7th are fixed the moment you delete the codexes. The core rules needed a cleanup which HH2 did pretty well but they were decent enough. HH3 from what I've seen looks like an overall evolution without spiraling like late 7th did or trashing everything like 8th and 10th and still a farcry from the amount of tracking 10th needs, which was the original point.

I think when people complain about mary sue's its in the context of stuff like Kirito from Sword Art in a story that takes itself tremendously seriously but everything is solved by narrative asspull.
40k in general is goofy ahh, the asspull is part of the fun and its aware of that. Thats why it can be full of mary sue's and still be good and something like an edgy anime protag who has 15 special powers or blood types or eye shapes or whatever that only he has because hes the chosen one and its played completely seriously is generally mocked by everyone who isnt 15 and its their first piece of media with adult themes they have ever consumed.

>>95848854>in fact reading through 2E and 3E codexes with all the wargear units can take it feels like there is way more to keep track in old editions than knew onesIn practoce it's not. All those options only matter when listbuilding (which is what makes ir fun for me) but during the game you only need to keep a handful of things in mind.
>2E/3E had limited unit variety, like legitimately just not a lot of datasheets per army and half of them were epic heroesBecause most things were tied to wargear and you didn't need a whole separate unit for that. In 10th a devastator squad would be 5 different units.
>7th edition had ridiculous overpowered keywords and terrible balance (havent played this one, just had horror stories told to me from people ITT)7th had decent enough core rules, it was the codexes that started giving out USRs like candy and then formations which could give you like 500 points of free stuff. Of course that would break the game.
>8th-9th edition had 40+ strats per army that was impossible memorizeYeah also removed USRs. Shit was stupid.
>10th has rubberband balance with armies being blatantly overpowered one week that barely playable the nextMostly because those abilities they give to every single unit are harder to quantify and they removed the tool they used to balance wargear. I don't know what they were thinking.
>At the end of the day it IS a game, so it being gamey doesnt upset me.It is to me. It's a part of the game I massively enjoy and now it's gone for no good reason because you can make units useful and interesting while keeping things feeling like an rpg.

>>95848928Yea but it only has 2 multimeltas, and what we need for Retributors is 4 multimeltas. nyaa~
>>95848937Places in warhammer have significance and power to them. Especially on a spiritual level, evidenced by things like World Spirits existing.
Earth is the birth place of humanity, safe guarding it from all manner of evil and destruction, both chaos and xenos is paramount.
>>95848878>Spamming 3 of the most busted datasheetsi mean even now that doesn't tend to happen, the best you get is a severely undercosted unit going x3 but the rest bing a mix.The only real exceptions are the super anemic Cult legion lines. Most decent competitive lists in other armies tend to have a mix of hard-hitting stuff, stuff to defend home/screen out deep strike and stuff to skirmish objectives leading to a mix of fast units, bulky units and strong units.
In comparison a lot of Midhammer games were pretty openly about Deathstars
>>95848941>7th had decent enough core rules>>95848822
>>95848941>In practoce it's not. All those options only matter when listbuilding (which is what makes ir fun for me) but during the game you only need to keep a handful of things in mind.Thats true of 10th as well though. If I have 5 datasheets that takes like 5 minutes to explain just like in 2E. It was 7th-9th that really got so bloated just trying to explain how the fuck the army works becomes an exercise in insanity.
>>95848964>evidenced by things like World Spirits existing.got a good place I can read about them?
>>95848960I already have 4 mewtimeltnyas, this is 2 more to go in a normal cattle sisters squad! (Fuck I've got so many spare heavy bolters why wasn't there a multimelta in the bs box, I hate gw....)
>>95848921I find people who still think 40k is serious business after reading about a baseline human who can 1v1 a hive tyrant because he's better than your average human at swordplay funny.
>>95848968Might be space marine bias but 3 ballistus, 3 vindicators, 1 msu inflitrator squad and the calgar guilliman clown car doesn't feel like a fun list to me.
>>95848875>Have seen the full piece, is good.Sadly you need an X or Bluesky account to see the entire thing. I tried getting access but had zero luck and it pains me.
>>95848977Eldar and sp*ce w*lves books.
Ah that's much better.
You are here to have a good time with dear friends. To still have units left on the board after six turns. To have a wargear section for your sergeants and HQ choices. To barely ever have special characters (with your opponent's permission).
>>95848964World Spirits are an artificial construct, not a natural evolution though, right? Like the Eldar made the world spirits for their Maiden worlds. It basically serves as a giant infinity circuit but for planets.
>>95848985even then the best lists began dropping some of the Vindis for a Glad Reaper/ATV/Scouts
i'm gonna be honest, I think every time someone complains about getting tabled/tabling round 3 it's just a giant admission of them being shitters and not knowing how to play
>>95848987The artist posted it on /aco/ one time, can't remember if I saved it.
>>95848997>To barely ever have special characters (with your opponent's permission)I have no idea why you faggots virtue signal with that, its been explained that named characters were deliberately overpowered and thats why they required permission
>>95849013If you have it, can you repost it please? The artist does a great job but knowing it is a cropped image bugs me greatly, not just because it is smut.
>>95848999Alpha Primus explains the human world spirits in genefather
>"He was not free, and would never be. He doubted anyone or anything truly was. He rejected power, and yet it was thrust on him. His dream bothered him. He must know more, and that meant going deeper. A mortal mind could not look upon the warp as it truly was. An order must be imposed, a cypher through which the mysteries of eternity might be safely interpreted. Primus drew in his consciousness, preventing it from dilution in the raw soul stuff of the immaterium. From his own memories he forged a sub-realm he could traverse, a place of personal truths. The methods were common to psykers. Throughout history those with a connection to the otherworld sought to impose humanity upon it, lest it strip their humanity from them. The symbolism varied. The Fenrisians had their Underverse, the Blood Angels their angelic visions, the Navigators their zodiacal allegories, the astropaths their verses and obfuscatory imagery, but the goal was the same: the protection of the soul against the inimical gods of the warp, and the ability to look upon that which could not be looked upon."-Genefather
>>95848999Since Fenris exists it's implied to be natural, since humanity even at their peak didn't have such psychic mastery or even tech to make something like that.
Also Fenris is confirmed to be basically a DAoT theme park that the humanity created during the Golden Age so people can live through earth's mythologies and whatever. It's basically a giant tourist Zoo trap that has just gone wild. Which is pretty funny.
>>95848800be happy with the kill team
>>95849017Well now they are still overpowered and the armies are designed with them in mind so you're expected to take them. Which is bad.
>>95849041every time i play a game I ask my opponent if they're cool with characters like primarchs/abbadon and it's pretty simple
there is nothing stopping you from asking
>>95849041aren't angron fulgrim and Magnus way less core parts of the army now than they used to be? And Marines got a nerf that strictly nerfs epic hero stacking?
>>95849017>named characters were deliberately overpoweredI dunno, most weren't too dissimilar to building similar regular HQ choices with wargear, and their special rules weren't silly like now.
>>95849075I could track down the standard bearer article where jervis johnson says verbatim it is why they required permission
>>95849063>opponent asks me if I'm okay with him bringing space marines to our game of 40kUh, yea mate. That's fine. Carry on.
>>95846089Nah, they're no bother, just use a resin with a bit of flex to it to save yourself headaches later.
>>95849017Incorrect. You could easily build better generic HQ's. Special/named characters were reserved more for recreating historical battles. At least in 3rd.
>>95849063has anyone said no? how do you feel about your opponents using them? have you ever asked them not to?
>>95849075agreed for Daemonhunters'
>>95849097>standard bearer article Wasn't 4th then lad.
>>95849105>>95846089Even the skinny lads are fine.
>>95849075Its pretty much just Bobby Gorillanigger. Angron, Belakor and Magnus have been almost required off and on in their armies, but I don't think any Epic hero has become as strong and as neccessary as bobby is to default space marines. Most Epic Heroes are side grades to genuinely good datasheets that are absolutely skippable if you don't like them.
>>95849063>every time i play a game I ask my opponent if they're cool with characters like primarchs/abbadon and it's pretty simpleWhy would I ask my opponent that when I'm the one that doesn't like special characters in normal games?
>>95848997speaking of 4th, has anyone tried pic related (Codex: Cityfight)?
>>95848315>>95848317>>95848336The best part of Blood Angels is that the primarch is definitely dead and never coming back.
>>95849126How bizarre, I was just looking at that very image in another tab 5 minutes ago.
>>95849114In my experience, pretty much everyone is fine with the 'non major Epic Heroes', thinks like Fierros in IH successors, the Salamander/IF duo ect. Most people are fine with stuff like that, and the 'centerpiece' units are almost on a tier of their own. It's normal to accept a game of SM vs Necrons as Szeras + Imotkh vs the Salamander Duo but if the Void Dragon or Silent King hit the field then most likely there's a Lion/Gorillaman about to hit the table

Sometimes I play with someone I don't know that well from the LGS discord and the experience has run from patiently tolerating an annoying autist who isnt fun to hang out with to really cool chill people. Best experience I had recently was a doubles game we organized from the discord and my doubles partner was a butch lesbian type playing battle sisters who was funny as fuck and I had a really good time and we went out for drinks after and got made fun of by the bartender for talking about 40k in a bar.
>>95846036 (OP)Is anyone a bit disturbed that /40kg/ now takes 10+ hours to reach the designated bump time? Did the 4chan hack have something to do with it?

I remember things in general for 3rd-5th edition 40k were both more fragile and didn't have the damage output potential of 40k. Unless it was a Old One-Eye or something, your special guy got 3 wounds and a 4+ invul and that's it. But they also weren't slinging 20 attacks per turn.

Regarding Gorilla Glue... I'm not super familiar with them, but I know they have their tentpole glue product, which is not superglue, but also sell an actual superglue. Make sure what you're using is actual superglue (cyanoacrylate). If what you have is cyanoacrylate gel then that should be fine.
Yes, 1.5mm to 2mm would be perfect. Any thicker than 2mm will start to really fuck up your hobby clippers (if you're lazy like me and use them instead of walking to the basement to grab some wire cutters or tin snips from the toolbox). It feels like, for a Space Marine list, once you have some regular Intercessors, some Inceptors, and a some Infiltrators, the rest of your list can be quite flavorful and be viable. Maybe battle reports arenโt the best measuring stick, but this is the impression Iโm getting.
>>95849735>Is there some kind of canon lore reasonNo.
GW just doesn't do that with the models because they want to keep the CSM and primaris aesthetics separate.
Realistically bunch of traitor would be running around in salvaged/stolen mk10 armor because primaris have had numerous skirmishes against chaos marines at this point.
Hell, there are chaos primaris already and it was hard confirmed to be possible with the Arks of Omen when Angron destoyed that one beacon which then caused khornate madness and corruption to spread to the entire fleet and the entire fleet Quartus was corrupted, all sisters of battle, guardsmen, techpriests and yes even primaris got corrupted. And any who weren't corrupted or somehow resisted then got horribly murdered as their former brothers and sisters in arms turned on them in murderous khorne fueled rage.
If you yourself want to make some chaos primaris, just go for it. But you have to greenstuff and otherwise convert/kitbash all of the details on the armors to make them sufficiently chaos-y looking.
>>95849793You can just make your list comprised of whatever you want. You don't really NEED anything specific

>>95846633No. You are literally just making shit up. Even the head sculptor of GW, the guy who DESIGNED SPACE MARINES PERSONALLY, has said this is complete bullshit.
>>95850012Iโve seen Sallyanon and Severanon post in my LGS discord several times. Youโll never know who I am though.
>>95850015This is honestly the biggest reason why I have posted my models here in the past for genuine honest criticisms.
Redditors sugar coat their shit with โnot trying to be meanโ and things like that to the point where you donโt give a fuck about the point of the post because you gotta go through a paragraph to get to the point.
Xitter and bluesky users donโt say anything to be honest.
>>95850015there's only a couple people here that paint good enough to give valuable advice
>>95846864>BFG is not canonIt was written by Andy Chambers personally, who was the head overlord of 40k for most of 2nd and 3rd edition and worked directly under Rick Priestley, the creator of 40k, and he also wrote half the fucking codexes. You literally can't GET more canon than that. Anything that contradicts BFG is fanfiction.
>In your Command phase, select one friendly HERETIC ASTARTES VEHICLE model within 3" of this model. That VEHICLE model regains up to D3 lost wounds and, until the start of your next Command phase, each time that VEHICLE makes an attack, add 1 to the Hit roll. Each model can only be selected for this ability once per Command phase.
Can I use this on multiple vehicles? It's not super clear
>>95850031>SeveranonFind that lazy lard and whip him into working on his army. He better be cooking something nice in his absence.
>>95850045>SELECT ONEItโs literally right there you fucking mongoloid.
>>95850053Then why did they bother adding
>Each model can only be selected for this ability once per Command phase.
>>95850057Because you can bring multiple characters with that ability.
>>95850057In case you bring more than one buffing character.
>>95850062>>95850064Alright I'm dumb, thanks.
>>95850071Donโt feel too bad. Reading comprehension is a rarely practiced skill in 2025
>>95850057How many units with that rule can you bring per game, retard?
>>95849970nope, guilliman and the lion are both just under 3 meters tall, making them just under 10 feet tall
>>95850133nope, writer is wrong, simple as
could lizardmen work as an old ones army in 40k? the new lizardmen age of sigmar refresh is a fair bit more technological looking than it used to be
>>95850133Primarisfags can't do numbers.
>>95850141and shortfags can?
>>95839270hella late but my vote goes to 1 or 2B
maybe 2 and 2B can be rank signifiers like sergeant/veteran
>>95850150It's funny how you obsess over size so much, almost as if that's the only thing primaris have going on for them and doesn't require primaris at all to happen.
>>95850140I'd honestly love to see GW bring back Slann next with a modernized interpretation the way they redid the Squats as Leagues of Votann. Could be pretty cool.
How idiot proof is leman russ tank assembly?
I plan to try it after I get home. I just want to be prepared. I have poster tac for dry fitting and extra thin plastic cement and files and clippers and hobby knife.
>>95849950I'm so mad they gave us these awesome new genestealer models but STILL fucked up the rending claws again. How is it they haven't been able to get them right one time since the Rogue Trader sculpts??
>>95850177the new slann is pretty scifi to be honest. i just built one, the underside of its chair has like battery cells and anti grav pads.
i wonder what the best proxy army would be, maybe necrons? slann as a ctan proxy? saurus warriors for flayed ones, kroxigor for melee destroyers. something like that
>>95850209I would go with CWE personally, since they're supposed to be pretty psychic I think.
>>95850140Unrelated but I love that model, had a lot of fun painting it too
>>95850199What do you mean?
When does Duncan Rhodesโ paint usually restock in Canada?
I like the metallic paints.
>>95848561>>95848588Units with a move value of - cannot move at all, per the core rules Datasheets section.
James Workshop still haven't given me the code for the SM: Remaster which I won during one of their streams. I sent a message over Twitch but I'm getting ignored.
>>95850220the problem with the CWE is that all of the seraphon ranges big psykers are on like 100mm+ bases, they're huge. eldars big psykers are farseers on like 32mm bases
maybe daemons would be a better fit? plenty of dinosaur counts as units, slann as a lord of change or something, aggradon lancers as juggernauts, etc.
i mean, as absolutely blasphemous as that suggestion is. im pretty sure if seraphon heard i was using them as daemons they would storm this dimension just to tear out my liver
>>95850224that whole range refresh was amazing. sold me on sigmar as a game even if almost no one in my scene plays it. 40k is definitely the main game
>>95850270You will never get it. It would be best if you moved on.
>>95850238You see how thick those claws are on the upper arms? How it's not like a nail attached to a finger, it's just a massive curved spike attached directly to the hand, and they're angled more like a triangle in relation to one another, like a big grabby claw in one of those machines full of prizes? See how fucking BEEFY the forearms are in this art? This is what a proper rending claw that can tear apart terminator armour should look like.
Really giving my code. A look over despite owning it for months now and this book really is cool. I do now though, understand why no one finds value in a second one for your army, even in a new edition.
>>95850279>maybe daemons would be a better fit?Actually yeah, that does sound like it might be a better fit ironically.
>>95850315And again here, look how much fucking scarier the claws look in this design than when they're just like, big fingernails.

calibran green is a lot darker than I thought
love priming with molotow one4all though
>>95850151Yeah 1's probably my favorite at the moment, not a bad idea for the ranking options
>>95850037>not trying to be meanImo when people pussyfoot around advice like this it makes me feel that much worse about my mistake. I'd rather have someone say, "this shit fucking sucks and this is why"
>>95850326i havent kept up with 10th edition, can you still run rainbow daemons? i had heard some rumors that rainbow daemons as an army were being considered for squatting, and blended into their respective cult god armies
>>95850050He's got a few guys started, I believe in him spitefully due to my own selfish desire to see people commit to high effort converted armies.
is there a sloptuber you hate more than the rest
for me it's cult of paints
they do nothing but shill their commissions and when they do army painting their """tip""" is "just airbrush highlight everything and leave the rest of the model unpainted or just basecoated it's just an army who cares"
>>95850140I think lizardmen would make a great necron proxy army.
>>95850417I stopped watching hobby youtubers a good while ago but Ninjon always rubbed me the wrong way.
>>95850315>>95850337My brother! The image of how rending claws are used was always crystal clear to me with that design, those things are vices that stab and then contract, they crush and tear like crab claws rather than slice. The new ones at least look nice and wicked sharp instead of the awkward flipper-finger claws every other sculpt of that rending claw design, but I am with you, I really wanted a version closer to 2nd edition stealers. The overkill princelings were so close, they just needed that rending claw design and a slightly better sculpt to the face.
Also give us the hoof-claw feet again please.
Why do tau posters insist on posting off model coomer art

>>95850291Yeah they're pretty damn fantastic
>>95850179As idiot proof as any kit built following the instructions
>>95850392Howโs the black one in an airbrush with a bit of thinner?
>>95850567That's primed with the black with zero thinning and a .05mm nozzle, went on super smooth
>>95850552I don't collect or plan to play Guard but I always have a background itch to build & paint Leman Russ tanks.
>>95850417I hate those grimdark channels that shill their stupid enamels.
>>95850613>grimdark channelsyou mean streaking grime channels
>>95850476I'm a newfag and it's my first time building these lads but I hate how monopose they are, even the tactical pipes are the same in case I decide to get a 2nd batch. I'm gonna field them in my GSC army as Purestrains and the GSC build options are really amazing, and borrowing stuff from Tyranid shows the contrast between the two.
But yeah they're clearly different from the old ones. These ones also don't have those fleshy bits on their backs
>>95850668>These ones also don't have those fleshy bits on their backsThe fun thing is they kind of do, of course not nearly as obviously as the OG design but it's there if you want to pick it out in homage. There's ridgy folds hiding in between the spine crests on their backs.
>I'm a newfag and it's my first time building these lads but I hate how monopose they areI agree and there's not much to be done about the scenery footholds without doing some very involved chopwork, but I don't think changing arm poses around will be particularly difficult, the slot pegs are easily removed so you can change the angles of the arms as you please, might have to do a little bit of trimming or GS work to make the connection to the socket clean. And while I haven't tried it out yet, some might just be freely swappable across bodies anyways, they are all the same shape slot and peg so its just a matter of finding pairs who can swap arms and not end up with an arm smashing into another part of the model.
>>95850587Iโll look into this stuff then. I want my airbrushing to be as idiot proof for me as possible.
>>95850668if you snip the connector tabs and separate the arms and just fill in the joints with a pinch of greenstuff, the new purestrain kit is pretty posable. also comes with the full set of 10 ymgarl heads for the first time which is great.
could it have just been ball joints? yeah, but its not nearly as bad as some other modern kits where like the guy is split vertically down the center into a front and back half
>>95850177>the way they redid the Squats as Leagues of VotannThere's a Lizardmen faction in Destiny?
>>95850767only advice I have is put your basecoat down pretty quickly after priming, I've heard that gives the best durability and it seems to be the truth in my experience of airbrushing a couple models after priming with it
>>95850613>>95850656Is there any grimdark channel that sticks to acrylics?
Iโve bought enough hobby stuff.
>>95850668New Space Hulk edition with new Genestealers trust
>>95850417I don't watch slop channels, the closest is pancreasnowork and I mostly because I like he doesn't take it seriously.
>>95850503Because it makes my peepee go weehee
>>95850737>>95850786It's doable probably but one of the downsides of being new is doing such tasks feel quite intimidating, the fear of doing some irrevocable damage to the minis. I have mad respect to people who cut up stuff and do their own thing. The guy I played against for example was a goddamn artist for he sculpts his own bits. The brain of this neurotyrant was his make though it's not fully painted yet.
>>95849533Get fucked you delusional Tau fag
>>95850476Yes sir! We share a synapse connection. Literally had the same thoughts about the Princelings, and was certain we would get that design for the new genestealers when they dropped. I don't hate the way they did the new ones with the different back spine design but I am curious why they changed it again. Disappointed about the claws though, even though I agree they're at least better than the ones we had for 4th edition and recent space hulk.
