>>95869116 (OP)>Pr*mar*s helmetInto the trash it goes
>>95869116 (OP)It's amazing how much that helmet actually ruins the model. I can't even explain why, either, but it does. It's uncanny. Make a new fucking thread cause this shit is cursed.
>>95869125Primaris is just revamped MK IV
Are Imperialis Miltias going to be a thing in 3.0. or do we just don't know yet?
>>95869147Why wouldn't they be? They are probably not going to get released at launch and be playable for like 2/3rds or even just 1/3rd of the edition but I doubt they are going away.
>>95869116 (OP)Painting Night Lords and wondering which base is better; Leadbelcher base or chaos black basecoat?
Also any Legion specific rules been leaked yet?
>>95869160Silver. There's almost no difference and all your trim is based already.
>>95869160If you mean spray primer, I've stopped using lead belcher. Too often any layers over it don't stick, and it's a pain getting it usable for further work.
>>95869147We just don't know, they did mentiopn that custodes will get their own libre a few months after the release of the first ones, and that legacy units aree getting a pdf, so all we can do is hope that they'll do the same for milita and daemons.
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/m11ujimg/saturnine-your-questions-on-the-new-edition-of-horus-heresy-answered/
>>95869160None of the libers have been leaked yet, only the main rule book.
>>95869160I just stick with black because I'm a tard with other primers and black just works for me.
>>95869160My recipe was black - drybrush on leadbelcher - paint on nightlords blue into the correct areas - then apply lightning effects - curse god for your foolish weakness in choosing a legion that requires freehand lightning - paint out the details like skulls - and more skulls - then apply scuffed and chipped paint with GSW Chrome.
>>95869191But as you can see, I'm hardly a pro painter.
>>95869199It's fine, but the lightning is too thick. It'll look better if you thin up the sides with one of your blues
>>95869142And yet it sticks out like an infected thumb that needs to be amputated
>>95869203I didn't have any thinner brushes to work with at the time. Honestly, I'm just proud I actually got 2000pts worth fully painted in the end. Even if they are kind of a grab bag of various things I liked.
I'm somewhat proud of this Casta-Ferrum I converted from old DW bits and probably the last Ironclad Dread left in the GW shop.
posted in last thread but what i'm workin on atm
>>95869191>>95869199you need to wash those skulls with seraphim sepia or similar so they look like bone instead of plastic
>>95869223I know, but I only had Agrax and Nuln oil to work with at the time... and there's something about the idea that these guys are just using Spirit Halloween decorations to troll other people with that kind of appeals to me.
>>95869213You should be. That's more than can be said for too many people, myself included
>>95869147Pdf probably like before
>>95869160Thanks for the suggestions bros with the primer, next pay I'm buying some cataphractii and pic related so might stick to black primer
so with rapiers out the way what time frame do we reckon for other releases? If 2.0 is anything to go by it was AoD by June, but we're already looking at July or even August for Saturnine. Then the kratos was August, so maybe Fellblades by late Aug/Sep. The assault box was 18 months after AoD, but if theres no tanks then the breachers/assault mk II might get the winter to spring slots when Rhinos and sicarans dropped. Then the new Cata would be looking like an early summer 2026 release. Then again it could be way later with the skitarii stuff, tanks and the rumoured war in the webway supplement which could push all the marine releases to being finished by Spring 2027.
>>95869191omg that missile launcher mould line
>>95869278>we're already looking at July or even August for Saturnine.Nah, I imagine it will be out pretty sharpish. The only other big thing in the pipeline is Cathay.
>>95869278Considering the starter box is already in warehouses, my guess would be end June or somewhere in July for the release date.
>>95869278Preorders next week
>>95869289rumour is there is a launch box out in August which could only be cathay, killteam or this so its a 1 in 3 chance.
>>95869299I honestly don't see them waiting that long for either Cathay or Saturnine, given the rate of the articles they're doing.
So is anyone going to make a non-primaris thread or shall I?
>>95869275I prime black. Basecoated Pro Acryl Grey Blue and then a zenithal pass of PA blue. I seal it before adding other colors so I donโt fuck it up.
>>95869326There's no point in splitting the thread over the use of one bit in an image. You can not like something and not be a terminal autist at the same time.
>>95869327Very nice. I'm not sure if I like the blue you did or the darker midnight blue, the blue you did is great I'm just worried it looks too much like the Ultramarine cobalt blue
>>95869326Only if you spell Legionis Imperialis wrong.
>rapier crew comes with a ton of tacticool bits
>perfect for AL killteams etc
hmmm should I get some?

>>95869370armistos eat sandvich
>>95869370That's clearly a space harmonica. He's planning on leaving the legion and riding the space rails.
Leakanon, can you post the vehicle rules, please - and walker type rules? Are unit types/sub-types in the book too still?
>>95869338I had the same concerns. I was thinking of painting Ultra for 3.0. But a friend is so NL it is. So my Ultra are Dark Blue base, PA Ultramarine then itโll be PA Faded Ultramarine for edges. Thereโs a big difference.
>>95869370Kneeling on traitors is hard work

>>95869441>>95869453rules are temporary warcrimes are eternal
>>95869428>>95869433Can I get a shop of this please?
>>95869338in half the official NL art, they're just ultramarines blue armor before the decorations, they only look like a darker blue because it's night time which changes regular blue into dark blue.
If NL were a midnight blue during the day, then at night they'd just look pitch black and that's a Raven Guard thing. Night Lords aren't painted for stealth, they want their victims to see and hear them and poo their pants in fear. Hence the bright white lightning bolts which don't help with stealth.
I am once again asking Leakeranon whether there are Zone Mortalis rules in the book and if so to please gibs.
>>95869468your logic is sound, however, no one wants to see boy scout blue night lords
>>95869361They're supposed also to be used as other units, yes
Making progress, but I can't decide what sponsons to use. Obviously we don't know points yet, but what do we think? Bolters for cheap, lascannons are always good, but tanks aren't the Typhon's target. Heavy Flamers for keeping infantry away?
What about a dark prussian blue for the Night Lords?
>>95869441it's too much of a penalty. they still want to sell consuls, so they'll get some kind of detachment even if it's specialized and inflexible.
>>95869514HB would keep infantry away a lot more imo
>don't read instructions because I think I'll be fine
>Just realised I fucked 7/10 terminators shoulder pads
Is it fixable bros? I'm going to have to cut shoulder pads off all day with a knife fuck my life
>>95869533im amazed a decade after this kit came out people still fuck up the pads, rtfm guys
>>95869514Flamers do have that Panic rule which routes a unit if it inflicts a wound

>>95869612Maybe in your wildest dreams
>>95869653Are you implying that you're not my biggest fan?
>>95869502>We're getting rules for units which don't have models, along with suggestions on how to build them>It's basically exemplary battles mixed with TOW's arcane journal units but (presumably) in the main booksIncredibly based
>>95869595Did you use this ? Diluted a lot.
If not, you should.
>>95869595only if your whole army is metallic green, but I would suggest you maybe try a wash over it too.
Hmm no assault from deep strike or outflank again just like 1.0. The ruleโs writer must have lost one unit to an assault one time and got furious. It shall be a shooting edition indeed. Between losing sweeping, the terribad challenges, and this, assault phase is looking really rough. And Iโm one of the few enjoying the changes so far
>>95869748>Charging out of Rhinos>No volley fire or overwatch when you connect with the Set Up move>Minimum charge distance went up from 2" to 4" for marines, 5" if it's a IC leading the charge>Jump infantry might have even higher set up move>Can pursue units trying to flee and lock them in combat againIt ain't all bad. Will have to try out an actual game with the full rules to really judge how it's all gonna work.
Mk III guys finally got delivered this morning. Still canโt settle on a legion. Building should still be fun, I guess.
Does it make sense lore wise for there to be inductii assault squads? I want to kit bash the dominion zephon an a battle damaged IW inductii sergeant that's barely survived both IW artillery barrages and loyalist firefights. However, I don't what's best to use as inductii markings and how other people differentiate sergeants without the transverse crest. I feel like it doesn't fit with the IW aesthetic enough.
>>95869773>will have to try out an actual game yes because marines in rhinos charging 7.5 inches is a massive threat! Or how about getting within 3 inches of the enemy so they don't fire overwatch, truly gamechanging! But guys, the minimum charge distance went up, that means so much more for assault than maximum distances going down! Not to mention Jump infantry might randomly set up more than 3 inches even though it is based on unit stats not equipment! And don't forget you can pursue fleeing units, truly massive!
>>95869845>Not to mention Jump infantry might randomly set up more than 3 inches even though it is based on unit stats not equipment! It's based on movement you mongoloid. Basic Jump Infantry set up 5"
>>95869477for me it entirely depends on how lazy their secondary paint/hobbying is or isnt
If someone goes hard on the custom NL helmets or shoulders or bones/skinnings or goes hard on the lightning, then the royal blue NL actually go harder than the dark smudgy NL.
But if someone is a new painter and gonna just use plastic starter set marines and not buy resin helmets and shoulders or paint lightning - then they absolutely have to go midnight blue, non-negotiable.
>>95869595please stop posting your 0/10 trash painting. It looks like failed finger-painting by a 5 year old who sucks at color choice and never learned how to color inside the lines.

>>95869845>Rhino moves 7" unit disembarks 7" minimum charge of 1" (if you roll a double 1) so 15" threat range at least>Nobody ever complained about overwatch in 2.0!>Any charge below 7" range is a guaranteed succes, that's how 2d6 probability works!>People always rolled that double 6 for the maximum 12" charge range!Tell me you're a trolling nogames tourist without telling me you're a trolling nogames tourist
>>95869834No, it doesn't make sense.
>>95869834>Even the cover shows the sword being bent.Oh ffs
Assuming Rapier Quad Guns are the same (ish), 2 units of three would be pretty versatile yeah?
>>95870009It's a plastic model, retard.
>>95870012no more squadrons and the detachment has 2 slots, so you will most likely want 2x2 in 2 detachments instead
>>95870009I was thinking of swapping it out with a thunder hammer
>>95870023>no more squadronsrapiers aren't vehicles
>>95870023I thought the "no more squadrons" thing only applied to tanks and dreads?
>>95870039they specifically call out dreadnoughts, vehicles AND SIMILAR RULES.
guess what those similar rules are? apothecaries, techmarines, rapiers etc.
>>95870045"each individual unit will take up its own Slot"
while they do not specifically call out rapiers, i do not see why rapiers would not be a affected
>>95870046And who told you that those "similar rules" were specifically those units?
>>95870046>Rapiers can now only be fielded one per FOC slot>That is why GW is selling them in boxes of twoRetard.
>>95870074NTA but there's literally two Rapier slots per Detachment. Seems pretty obvious why.
>>95870027You should swap it out for a thunder hammer
>>95870095Because Rhinos are also sold in boxes of four, since there is always four transport slots per detachment.

Oh fuck, they got rid of night time entirely. Pour one out for the Day Lords space marine legion.
>>95870153Sorry anon but Mom says I can't stay up late for a "night battle". We have to play at daytime or not at all
>>95870153night fighting is bad for shooting so it was gotten rid of

>>95870153Night fighting was kind of retarded since we're expected to believe that space marines can't see in the dark.
>>95870198Fake. Real players care about tradition. Night fight on dawn of war is what peak Warhammer looks like.
Early Great Crusade - which units could be in my army and which ones are too modern?
>>95870204Night vision isn't some magic vision that allows perfect clarity. Dust, smoke, flaring from burning wreckage or weapons fire will reduce its effectiveness. That's why infravisors are so good, they combine thermal and you can absolutely see across the map.
>>95870209>Real players care about tradition. And yet they complain when GW does a terrible job with the rules :^)
>captcha: h8 trad
>>95870195>BraindeadAs if rolling the exact same dice requires more brainpower?
>>95870228>That's why infravisors are so goodThey're just a retarded addon. At a base level a space marine has super human eyesight even discounting their advanced armour systems.
>>95870198>NL unplayable now.Hh should include capture and torture mechanics to keep NL viable
>>95869998Ah thanks, so destroyer assault is probably more fitting. I was also thinking of just using the spike top of a numk3 helm as sergeant for the rest. Plumes dont really feel IW enough
>>95870219might need to be more specific, if you mean the Solar campaign then it is literally only mark II PA, no terminators, no sicarans but you could have the kratos instead, no legion specifics of any kind, breachers and destroyers even might be pushing it.
I'm about to start taking 0pts of war gear on my tactical squads on account of them getting fucked routinely anyway. I usually spend 40 on a vexilla, plasma pistol, power weapon and artificer armour.
Does anybody else do this?
>>95870304Be strong and always max out the officer's bling
>>95870291Let's say first 50 years.
>>95870239I'm not commenting on brainpower, I'm commenting on wittle baby doesn't want to lose his wittle unit after botching a melee. He just wants to sit back with his wittle wapiers shooting without any penalty.
Do I continue with my current army (Night Lords) or do I start fresh for 3.0? I'm thinking maybe Iron Hands. Not sure why. Maybe it's because like Ferris Manus, my crowning achievement will be to do nothing and then die.
>>95870148So why do you think two rapiers can't count as the same unit?
And going by your previous post, are tech marines and apothecaries going to come individually per command slot now too?
Why do you think that somebody asking you these questions makes them retarded?
>>95870323Melee and deepstrike were ruined to sell their shooty edition minis. So IH immortals and rapiers will probably be meta.
>>95870323Tbh NL are pretty pointless in a shooting-only edition which never has night battles. We won't know for sure until we see the liber army traits, but Nightlords and Alpha legion are the two riskiest chaos factions to ever play because any edition of warhammer there was a 50/50 chance they made NL "the faction with useless leadership modifiers to the enemy" and Alpha Legion "the faction bad at combat but shuffle one or two units in deployment and allowed to buy some basic cultists"
>>95870304I only take a combi-melta on the sergeant for 10 man tactical squads, but on 20 man squad I definitely take that vexilla so they don't run off the board.
>>95870315As the anon said, you get barebones for early GC, terminators only came about late within the GC (sub 50 years until HH)
>>95870348>>95870359What're some fluffy Iron Hands stuff to start working on then?
>>95870359NL will be good on the advanced characteristics.
>>95870392Immortals, Gorgons. Tortuga Bay has cool IH bits
>>95870385But wern't Saturnine termies early GC = could be used?
>>95870398Maybe, maybe not. They're not extra-ordinarily brave, nor extra-ordinary at battle strategy. And being a little bit spoopy might be useful against baseline unbuffed units but there's always a risk that the game lets every squad with a chaplain suddenly become very brave and then NL would be up shit creek. And Fear() has no effect beyond 12", so it's far less useful in a shooting edition than in one where marines are shooting 60 bolter shots at 24" and pinning the nightlords before you get in fear range. We'll have to see, they Could be good but it's risky - whereas someone like SoH / Iron Hands / Ultramarines are just bound to get something meaty instead of a useless fear thing.
Do you think Krak missiles will get AP 2 if they stand still? AP 2, but 1 damage perhaps?
>>95870291I understand the others but why no breachers?
>>95870465If they do, it will make meltas entirely pointless. Meltas lost the ability to threaten battle tanks when they lost d6 strength, but we're told "well they'll kill terminators"
But if krak missiles are AP2 for terminators at 48" and meltas only at 12", aint nobody using meltas for anything. Disintegrators already look to be a non-starter losing AP2 while not being good against vehicles either.
>>95870436Yeah gotta love tortuga, I just bought some bionic mk4 for a heresy kill team project.

>>95870359What is so bad about AL? In 2.0 technically they have 0 zero combat skills because their trait boils down to "back away". And yet it makes them kings of positioning. It makes the enemy miss. It makes the enemy pursue and overextend. The Alpha player gets to deploy, do alternative deploy, forces the opponent to commit then lies about it and redeploys.
It's rather good for a force that "sucks at actual combat"
You should be able to charge out of a (scattering) deepstrike or outflank, though
>>95870491The feet are still old style. That is not new MkIV.
>>95869514I like Volkite. Even moreso now that there's no threat of Weapon Destroyed
>>95870502>feetnonsensical argument
>>95870392I wouldnโt jump into iron hands until we see their rules, theyโre among the legions most at risk of being accidentally fucked over without being thought of
The loss of ID is a soft nerf to their legion trait and as IWND is entirely gone, one has to assume their vehicle buffs are just going to be slightly stronger auto-repair
Which could be good or bad depending on if any armor values change and how prevalent heavy(S) and armorbane are on anti-tank guns
Immortals are really only good in bitter iron, gorgons termies are probably going to stay weak as long as the WS chart stays how it is, and we have no reason to feel safe that cyber-familiars, grav upgrade, or even morlocks will stick around in their current handy incarnation, if at all
Plus the change to force org demolishes dread spam lists barring RoW, Iโm not at all saying iron hands will be bad (they have the potential to be really really good) but as one of the relative backgrounds characters with fewer shiny special models and characters to sell theyโre always at risk of being underwhelming
>>95870489Shouldn't Scouts be also there?
>>95870515You don't see how those feet are different from the image? Those feet are in line with the new Mks, the ones in the picture aren't.
>>95870359AL are based and they can steal a good combat unit from another legion >:)
Wait a minute I just reread the leaks. Pinning Stun and panic all work like concussive/Grav do now and you can only test once per phase. It's over.
>>95870500alphas in 2.0 were given a grab-bag of stuff that AL didn't have in other games workshop stuff.
Ability to take other legion's god-killer special unique squads - They certainly have nothing like that in any edition of 40k, could be gone in HH3.
Specialist squads with amazing broken stats (BS5) and the ability to Precision Strike with multimeltas like they're primarchs? Could very well be gone in HH3 and them be BS4 and no precision strike.
They had the ability to just place a bunch of overpowered dreadnoughts anywhere they wanted in HH2. Now dreadnoughts die in 1 shot and can't charge after deepstrike. If power moves to landraider sized tanks instead of dreadnoughts, they have enormous footprints and are easier to screen out from half the board and sending them on a flanking mission makes them easier to hit their rear armor. HH3 could always limit alpha legion to just "redeploy 2 units in your deployment zone" like they've had for other GW games.
We haven't seen any stats for Sniper Rifles which were a useful thing for AL who often focused on removing buffs so they could win fights despite having a shit army trait. Nemesis Bolters being S5 with Rending 5+ is not at all a given. Most GW editions have had sniper rifles as weak guns, HH2.0 is an exception. Would not be surprising if suddenly they're S4 AP5 Breaching6+ instead of sniper rifles being amazing in HH2.
It wouldn't take much of a change at all for AL to go from good to one of the weakest factions. They were among the worst chaos factions in 40k 3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 so them actually being cool in HH2 is something of an anomaly.
>>95870517You donโt run IH for rules, you run them because you want everyone to know youโve got balls
>>95870534There's only a minor difference in proportions, that doesn't mean it's a different design
>>95870491That's the old design. You can tell because of the "ears" of the helmets being huge. All the redesigns have made them smaller.
>>95870506>Even moreso now that there's no threat of Weapon DestroyedWhat's that got to do with this? In 2.0, Weapon Destroyed affects Primary weapons, which S6 Volkites are not. Defensive weapons are only eligible to be destroyed if there's no Primary weapon to affect.
Surely you weren't using sponsons and pintle weapons as ablatives to protect the Main Gun from a Weapons Destroyed result, right?
>>95870555>There's only a minor difference in proportionsYeah, because it's the old models as a base. The new models will have their own look.

>>95870559>>95870566The "new" models all look like that new mk4 art, plus artificier armour bling
>>95870612None of the new models have big ears.
>>95870612This model looks like absolute shit
>>95870603Typhons aren't superheavies. You need to take the lascannons so one pen doesn't remove the big gun.
>>95870596Night Lords had an entire RoW called "Terror Assault" entirely focused on starting each battle at night time. Something being there from day 1 and being flavorful is not a guarantee GW hasn't axed it from the game in HH3.0.
I don't hope they remove AL ability to grab all other legion's rare units, but it's the kind of thing someone at GW who doesn't play the game would remove. "What, you mean he's using that thing in TWO armies without buying it twice?! That's hurting our profits!"
They axed a lot of daemon units that were always allowed as allies for khorne/slaanesh/tzeentch/nurgle in 40k recently, only allowing a tiny piddling to be used cross faction. Some suit is allergic to fun at GW.
What should I buy for Word Bearers if Iโm just starting out? Legionaries and daemons?
>>95870603NTA but yes
if you get a Weapon destroyed result, you want to be able to pick something that's not your main gun to be lost. A lascannon sponson, stuff like that.
Giving a tank with a big dick gun like the typhon or cerberus extra defensive weapons means that a Weapon destroyed result is more likely to remove your primary armament.
>>95870633Demons donโt exist newfag
>>95870623What was wrong with them being a superheavy? Same with the Macharius :(
>>95870639Oh. So do you have an actual suggestion then? Maybe make some 40k Possessed into Gal Vorbak?
>>95870620You keep talking about proportions, which doesn't apply because then the old art also didn't match the old models.
The bottom line is that we got new models in mk4, and new art of mk4 matching them. The second is specially telling. Gw usually doesn't do that, and they have loads of unreleased illustrations that rarely surface much later
Speaking of superheavies, I wonder if under new rules they'll just be immune to glances and you have to pen to do any damage to them.
>>95870651>new art of mk4 matching themNo. The new MkIV art matches the old models.
>>9587063340k CSM Possessed to use as gal vorbak is the safe thing as Gal Vorbak are their main special squad.
Full daemon purchase I'd wait for the liber first, we can't know yet if you'll have a reason to buy bloodletters vs daemonettes vs plaguebearers or if summoning a Bloodthirster will still be allowed or good.
If building before the book I'd do the gal vorbek and some 30k marines, some heavy weapon stuff, make some word bearer character-types (daemon-summoner looking dude, dark chaplain looking centurion dude, etc.)
>>95870633Right now we're not sure about much since the new edition is near but we haven't seen the legion army lists yet. I would say just paint up some basic tactical squads for now, maybe some rhinos to transport them if you're doing squads of 10, since those are going to always be at least somewhat useful.
>>95870661Thanks, anon.
>>95870666Best to keep it simple I suppose. I was going to do big squads of 20, I like the idea of marching throngs of chanting fanatics
>>95870646if you do buy possessed, just remember to build the one with a tactical rock under his foot, not a primaris marine under his foot. I'm gonna need to cut away the one under mine and put some rocks and stuff over him.

>>95870551Fuck IH are so sexy. I am so tempted to just get an allied force of them.
>>95870633Tactical marines, rhinos, maybe some terminators.
Basically every legion relies on the same core of basic units which are always if not good then usable.
Everything else we dont know, gal vorbak could be fantastic or they could be ass, mhara gal could be disgustingly broken or worthless, we dont know what their rites are like (if they even have any), how summoning works (if at all) or anything else.
>>95870660They're all the same because they've not redesigned Mk4. It's just an upscale with different proportions.
>>95870712New ears are smaller but otherwise yes.
>>95870675Big squads of 20 area always fun to see on the table.
I would also think about mabe building one or two generic HQs, since the new force org seems to be encouraging lots of HQ models (esp. generic centurions) to have more detachments.
>>95870712It's a redesign, the fully extent of which we will see in time. Look at that secondary ear ridge for example, present there and here.
>>95870719Lmao thanks anon
>>95870734I grabbed a box of the 40k chosen to turn into a bunch of HQs, I was originally thinking of wanting to do more consuls but with rules leaks I think I'm going to make 1 herald, 2 centurions, 1 champion, and 1 other Consul I haven't decided yet. I already have my zardu layak, a terminator Librarian, and a moritat converted from haarken.
>>95870359>Tbh NL are pretty pointless in a shooting-only edition which never has night battlesThat entirely depends on their trait. If it expands to "+1 to wound/pen vs units with tactical status effects" then thats already pretty good.
>>95870768Or alternatively maybe their trait becomes melee only like in 1.0. But +1 to wound/pen might be a lot more valuable now that theres fewer rerolls, high S weapons might not be the only viable options and vehicles are harder to pen.
>>95870359But NL also have a bonus at range :(
Maybe their Rite will be one of the few sources of Night Fighting, which will mean many will be unprepared for it.
It'll also mean this will be a special, unnatural darkness that even regular marine visors struggle with.
>>95870768Also this
>>95870787This is also assuming their trait remains +1 to wound. Who knows what it might be. Maybe they just have a -1LD aura besides fear, maybe they have +1 to HIT instead. Who knows.
I think theres a lot of room for NL to utterly blow, but theres a lot of room for them to be better, their weapons cant get worse for example.

The more I read the more I start to think the great crusade deserves game recognition along with the heresy. That whole pre- 40k era should be the focus. Certain legions don't really get to shine without it (Death guard, Iron hands,) and there seem to be a lot of material for cool xenos to fight that aren't included in 40k like Ulumรฉathic League, Vassalian, Donarathi, Cimmeriac, Thexians, Draxians, Noisome Reek, Xenarch, Saharduin, Dracolith, and Szaeyr. Anyone got those LoggyK (RIP to a real one) files hosted somewhere? James seems to have burned them off most of the Internet. Bastards.
The belt feed for the plastic castigator is hella cool. Whoever designed knocked it out of the park.
Any advice on what to build after looking at the leaks? I have some special weapons and heavy weapons options available and not quite sure what should be a priority to build and paint.
I'm doing a mostly bipedal army. Infantry blobs, termies, dreads.

>>95872799Hard to say without having seen all the weapons and point costs yet. Everybody is going on about meltaguns, but we don't know if those will cost too much to be decent. Also curious how everybody seems to have forgotten multi-meltas exist, those have double the range of meltaguns. And in the new edition units can move and still shoot heavy weapon, so those could be an option if you don't want a meltagun squad in a Rhino.
For anti-infantry some heavy bolters, volkite culverins or plasma cannons would probably work.
>>95872931>Are NuMkIV kneecaps meant to be flush with the shins, or protruding slightly? I can't tell.I think they're meant to be flush. Would make it easier to fit to the same skeleton as the others.
>>95871268I wouldn't mind a xenos range for a great crusade book, but only if they were meaningfully different from 40k's range. Some wholly new races would be good; just say they got wiped out in the crusade. For orks, I'd love to see a revival of their classic more advanced look. For Eldar, combine all varieties into an immediate post-fall army which hasn't had the time to develop distinct cultures. This guy attached was designed to bridge that gap, and I think the aesthetic would work well for a full army.

who buys gw plastic anymore???
>>95873071I do. What proontfags don't tell you is that printing fucking sucks, takes way too much time and effort and supports warp a lot of detail.
>>95873076>supports warp a lot of detail. You were correct til this point. Print and support well and you can't see where the supports were. It does take a lot of time and space though. Its an investment so initial start up is expensive, but you will end up paying less in the long run.
>>95873105Nah it doesn't matter how well you place supports sometimes they just fuck up everything. I speak from experience. Here, look at this, looks good, right?
Im not a hh player but I was painted one of the old mk3 earlier for my firstborn 40k army and thought id look at the new ones. Why are they so different? The design is totally different and they dont look like the evil knight mark anymore. Id guess minor changes but the entire backpack is different
>>95873118Now look at the underside. Works here because it won't be seen but it killed all the detail. And having to tweak each print 200 times so it comes out perfect and doesn't fail 70% of the time or warps is a pain in the ass. I want the models, not the process. Plastic is easy and fast.
>>95873128Short version: Redesign of the range due to either new people wanting to make their mark, aiming for modern design sensibilities, and/or just plain weirdness.
>>95873139I wonder if its because the last mk3 models already scale pretty well with hh2.0 and theyd be no reason to rebuy it all unless its not "correct"
>>95871656The only thing I like about all the status effects is that Night Lords won't get pushed into using rotor cannons. Just seeing terror squads walking around with gattling guns is enough to make me laugh.

>>95873244I hate being reee, new thing bad, but new is genuinely worse.
All the weird curves to the plates, legs that are designed so the marines physically can't stand up straight, loss of the iconic boots, the distinctive shoulder pads having far less of that distinct top trim, and the mk.ii underneath no longer being what it's meant to be - replacing the overlapping plates with the shitty ring plate design.
They literally had a new scale mk.iii already, you can see it for DA destroyer dudes, they've just redesigned everything to try encourage people to buy new models.
I haven't seen any refer to bonus attacks for charging in the leaked rules yet. That would be an interesting change if so. Even the rules for pistol don't say anything about it counting as a HTH weapon
>>95873419Impact (Attacks) would allow you to give a bonus attack on charge. It won't be the general rule though.
>>95873419Like the other anon said, I think it's moved to Impact(x). I also noticed that a centurion from the box has 4 base attacks.
>>95873327Yeah no. They did the complete opposite. They sculpted the entire thing first, then posed it in the same way. No one would use such different sculpts as a base just because the pose is the same. It's easier and faster to start from scratch. You idiots have no idea how sculpting works, digital or not.
>>95873447Oh yea I saw that and all just commenting on the base bonus.
I think that would be very interesting bc (unfortunately/allegedly) the WS table didn't change. If thats the case then having less attacks in hth overall would be decent at least. It wasn't just that thunder hammers were OP, it was also having so many TH attacks (or fists for that matter) in a single round of hth
>>95873459>it was also having so many TH attacks (or fists for that matter) in a single round of hthThe fact we got attacks modifier and they're not slapping it on stuff like hammers and fists is a real missed opportunity.
So I mightโve missed it, the Assault Phase rules are long, but
I canโt find anywhere that you get +1A for charging, nor for having 2 melee weapons?

I hope they give armigers the wardog weapon options and also put moriaxes in the same army list and also put the plasma cannon/conversion beamer/big flamer/extendo-drill/collar missiles in as options for knights.
>>95873448Theyre not posed similarly, they are posed identically.
Yes of course they design the base model first than put it into the poses, how else would you do it?
The point is the have a bunch if preset poses that every mark of armour has been designed to fit into generically. Any feature if the armour that would get in the way of that goes into the trash.
2(3?) Sets of armour, all conforming to the same skeleton, all made to be the same with some surface level details swapped around.
Anyone else reckon there army lists are no longer usable thanks to the new terrible force org chart? All the changes for 3.0 have been okay to me besides this new chart. Literally think both my armies wont be playable and theyโre fairly normal lists
>>95873669I have over 20 marine lists on new recruit alone and for all of them the only change I needed to make was at most add 1 Centurion to get all the slots. Stop spamming dreadnoughts. And yes, 3 at 3k is still spam. 2 is borderline

And they're claiming it's more flexible than the FoC? Get real. People left 7h ed to HH1.0 because of detachments. Its kinda ironic/deaf
