Two naked dragons are 960 points. You only have 40 left. Best you can do is level 4 Sorcerer + one mark on one character OR one normal "item" on the Lord (like Crown of Everlasting Conquest or Enchanting Aura). But you can't take Infernal Puppet, for example.
It could be silly list, or a list to flex on a novice player. But I don't think it would win you any tournament places.

I think Infernal Puppet is the only must-take item in the chaos list, so I actually do prefer taking a dragon lord, a level 4 sorcerer with that, and then I probably prefer 2 x giant chaos spawn over the warpfire dragon too but both are pretty valid IMO.

I just don't think the dragon spam list is that bad either. Chaos warriors are unfortunately pretty much forced into skew lists in the first place, so I don't think going even more skew is actually that much worse than the most optimal list.

I just remembered I have a bunch of unpainted Watchful I terracotta soldiers, can probably get away using them as something.

I really like the idea of a Knightly Orders army conceptually but I feel like tabletop wise theyd be shit. You get to choose between knights, better knights, pistoliers and some missile troops. I mean I'm not sure what I'm expecting from a knight army but still it doesn't sound fun to play as. Has anyone actually tried them yet?

What are the good units for Dwarf lists anyway? Coming from Lizards, we only really have 2 choices for main infantry blocks and they're both not that good and they both do the same thing. Dwarfs on the other hand have warriors, longbeards, hammerers, ironbreakers, miners, slayers, plus lots of similar ranged units. Dwarves are so lacking in the basics to make a non bullshit list, they have two competitive options.
Option one. Spam gyrocopters and some rangers, their stupid thane that shoots a dozen times on 2s. All their shit is less than like 90 points, it's a cloud of mobile garbage trying to kill 1k points of your list and give up less than 500.
Option two. Bullshit deathstar. It's 1500ish points of bullshit in one basically unkillable deathstar. It wins by killing roughly 500 points of your list while you don't get more than 400ish of theirs.

Yep! I had gotten him long before they made him a generic king in TOW but I still wanted to paint him in his regular colors/his appearance in Total War. In hindsight I would've done more layering on the armor but I'm still happy with how he turned out early last year.

One of them could be holding an entire arm that's still holding onto a weapon.

The classic arrow or two+ through a body part, eye, head, torso, etc.
One dragging the upper torso of another, family member dragging along another.

You're on the right track but you don't need the mark of Nurgle on your warriors. Save the points, the mark of chaos undivided is significantly better and free, especially if you're going up against a nuln army. You will eventually have to take a panic test or two, so you may as well make use of the FPT re-roll that the mark of chaos undivided gives you. That being said, a sorcerer of nurgle is a great idea. Make him a daemonologist and, with a bit of luck, he'll be able to bring your warriors to T6, I6, and M5. I've been thinking about painting up a nurgle sorcerer myself recently. It's not a competitive option, by any means, but I think it'd be real fun for casual games.

Sure it's fun, for a time, but it's not reliable. You're still constrained to a 10" charge range and 10 chosen aren't going to be able to survive getting shot at for long. Even with a level 4, you really can't expect to get Daemonic Vessel off when you need it, especially if your opponent's wizard is within dispel range. Remember, Vessel (and Vigour, which is really a crying shame, what's the point of a toughness buff if it doesn't last through your opponent's turn? At least Fleshy Abundance is a remains in play spell...) immediately after your turn does, so you'll need to cast it right before you issue a charge or during combat and it won't be active during your opponent's turns. Believe me, I tried to make it work. It just doesn't. Even when you put together a proper deathstar, 18 chosen warriors with a chaos lord w/ enchanting aura, bsb w/ war banner and a level 4 daemonologist, it just folds to a dragon immediately, assuming it doesn't just get shot off the board. As much as I wish it wasn't the case, the current state of the rules does not allow you to build a mighty regiment with the goal of taking down dragons or anything that's actually meta. It's just not going to work. Have fun with it, sure, but keep your expectations low.

Is it just me or does slaanesh not fit with the traditional chaos warrior/raiders? Like khorne fits super well with the established chaos designs(pic related) and being a god of fighting and bloodshed is also fitting for what's basically vikings/conan barbarians.
Nurgle also looks good and the harsh conditions most chaos tribes live in also makes it believable that a tribe falls because of a pandemic etc.
Tzeentch is obviously the shamans/magic users/oracles of the tribes and mutants.
Slaanesh just doesn't make sense to me outside of rich merchants and nobles, they much better fit with elves and their entire perfectionist/stronger feelings aspect.

To be quite honest the way they advertised Cathay before TWW release made it look like a faction without flaws too.
It's only with the in game quotes it looks more grey (also the interview of Andy Hall when he mention how Emperor big plan may not be so wholesome for not dragons in the end).
