I run Control Magic, Mind Control, and Confiscate in each of my decks with blue. If you wanna seethe and scoop to it then yeah sure I'll treat it as a "Remove target player from the game" card and count it as a victory

I've got 4 extra turn spells but a lot of draw so it's not unusual to get an extra turn and then draw into another one and chain them together like that, which isn't fun for anyone and is probably outside of the realm of what my deck should be doing in my regular pod's power level.
Should I cut extra turns for fogs so I can stay in bracket three? I figure a fog is basically like a riskier extra turn spell, keeping me alive for another round. We're in combat meta, not combo meta. Though I guess aristocrats and stuff will fuck me up just as bad.

I keep overpowering my pod and I'm trying to make a bracket 2 deck. I'm mostly going for thematics based around characters and art, but I keep ending up slightly too optimized. I think I just don't really have a good grasp of what qualifies for bracket 2 and what pushes it over the edge into bracket 3. My list technically qualifies for bracket 2 by all the qualifications and bracket calculators I can find, but I'm not sure what I need to change to make it less antagonistic to my friends.
Anyone have a good example of what a bracket 2 deck should look like? Seems like almost no one else plays at this level intentionally.

Remove almost all interaction/removal. Take out a lot of draw engines. Put in funsies cards instead of cards that synergize with your commander/theme. Run definitely-less-optimal/efficient cards. And then understand that skilled players can beat newbies piloting bracket 4 decks with precons

Outside of throwing a Swords to Plowshares or a Beast Within at the biggest thing you're pointing their way, or ramping more quickly than you can burst them down, battlecruiser decks have no answers to early pressure. This is at least partially responsible for why lower brackets suggest that games shouldn't end too quickly.
If you've ever played online you might see rooms with gentleman's rules like "no attacking before turn 3", "no wins before turn 7", which is basically how battlecruiser players will attract other battlecruiser players to their tables. Battlecruiser as a playstyle really only works in multiplayer if no one recognizes you ramping three turns straight makes you the biggest threat even on an empty board, or only if everyone agrees to play slowly.

The way I describe it probably makes it sound pretty weak and pathetic, needing a whole list of extra rules just to avoid hurt feelings, but battlecruiser decks are a TON of fun to play once they get off the ground, and battlecruiser pods are a fucking blast since it's all heat all the time once all four decks are raring to go. A lot of people say battlecruiser magic is what EDH was made for, and I'm inclined to agree. EDH is the only format where battlecruiser can function, and it's unfortunate that a lot of players have optimized the fun out of the game for themselves just to improve their win rates.

Triple 3s on a post asking about 3-mana rocks sounds like destiny, but I wouldn't recommend it unless the whole deck is built around dumping entire hands of 3-mana rocks onto the field. A turn two 2-mana rock ramps you into your commander on turn three, which is a big tempo play that gets you cards and a solid lead on your opponents turn four.
Blue has some good utility 3-mana rocks though, and a lot of them are available on a budget. If budget is a concern at all, I'd suggest considering it. Not every deck needs to be hyperoptimized.

i think wotc knows the age of 60 card competitive is truly over; much has been said about the failure of mtg being an esports, but i think it goes farther than that
i believe the brackets system being released this year is not a coincidence
this might sound ridiculous to you guys but i believe that brackets are the new formats - think vintage, standard, modern - and that events will now be bracket 2/3 edh (with random deck checks) using chase boosters as prizes to ensure people get out there buying, i've seen the game stores around my area doing this already
i believe the massive success of FF is exactly what wotc was looking for, nintendo allowing their non-pokemon IP to enter magic for example is every wotc exec's wet dream
this is why i believe magic will not get cheaper anytime soon, as instead of making cards cheaper to compete with proxies ala gabe newell/steam wotc is heavily leaning into magic as a luxury product with all the IP you could ever want
just like women will never be caught dead using fake chanel bags, nerdy guys won't dare come out in the wild with proxies - imagine going outside with that in a luxury hobby - the peer pressure and fear of shame will ensure you keep buying if you ever plan on leaving your small island of proxying friends
expect more UBs using the IPs that tickle the fancy of every nerd in the world in some kind of Weiss Schwarz future, with events offering the perfect kind of prize (surge foil, all the bells and whistles, hidden in boosters) to make people continue buying, and since holding the rights for reprints is never a sure thing that will only cause prices of chase cards to go higher and higher

On one hand, I think some of what you’re saying makes sense. Seeing what has happened with MtG with Bloomburrow, Tarkir Dragonstorm and FF along with other trends was what made me finally buy some Hasbro stock for my portfolio. On the other hand, I truly believe FF was a one-time thing with UB because of how broad it is as a series. The main two categories people fit into is they’re either die-hard fans of all games or really, really like one or two but don’t care about the rest (I’m the latter with 7 and 10 being the only ones I care about). Other companies like Nintendo are very finicky when it comes to collaboration with their products as they want to be the one reaping the massive profits (and there must be massive profits involved), so where UB goes from here is a bit of an unknown. I’m not sure I’d go all the way down the rabbit hole you have with the Brackets system but I 100% agree WotC have some plan for them that will not benefit the customers in the long-run.

This was my favorite card for a while when my friends and I first started playing Magic, felt great murdering everyone with their own big creatures. I remember killing one guy with his Rofellos and another with Vulrath, it was singlehandedly responsible for the tempo increase in our pod because it was an instant win.

Everything was downhill after that because all the win conditions kept coming out faster and faster until we weren't so much playing as we were just hoping to draw exactly what we needed by turn three or four. I bet if we still played now all of our decks would just be turn two kills and people would be scooping on their first card draw.

One game I got an early Unshakable Tail and that boy puts in so much fucking WORK with Golbez, once I got out Enhanced Surveillance it became a matter of just puking out clues and surveiling 3 at a time. With Polluted Cistern (before it was removed during a particularly UPSETTING Smothering Tithe moment) I managed to drain the table for 20 or so before my draw step and it probably would've been 30-40 if they hadn't removed it. Won at end step with Apocalypse Demon coming out of the grave with Golbez, though so no real complaints.
I just made a small maybeboard of more ways to surveil because the mechanic feels great when executed continuously. Maybe I should get more thopter generators.

That, and a different templating for "If this card has seven or more charge counters, it gains". Which would be a bit more awkward to do when it can instead be condensed into the number and a keyword.
