What did you do in Chainsaw Man?
If you take a drawback that makes you autistic, will it also make you trans?
So in Justice league dark which is cooler, being a magician with all the cool magic powers but having to be fucked with by the DC magic having a price or to just go primordial vampire and not deal with all that?
>>95910277Arguably the vampire option but in reality it'll just result in you getting gangbanged by all the "good" DC magic users if you actually use those abilities.
>>95910324Nta, but perk is based on Andrew Bennet a Vampire Hunting Vampire Hero and protagonist of the I, vampire run.
As vampires can through willpower resist their bloodlust and they can live of animal blood it's not that difficult to convince heroes to spare them.
Though Constantine easily fucked him over when first encountering him by creating a small sun.
>>95910183I attempted to disconnect devils from concepts to prevent the death of a devil from deleting things in reality.
>>95910277I usually go for the magic house and some of the john inspired capstones that let you cheat rather than direct casting power.

>>95910428So Constantine murdered a hero?
>>95910693That's more or less my MO anyway. Do I have to do ALL of them, though? That would make it feel like a job which is poison to things that you love. And what about settings where there are none?
As Juneteenth comes to an end, it is important for jumpers to remember not to treat their companions as slaves.
Does Jumper's Empire have nukes?
>>95910973Jumper does not have a empire. He is very insistent its not a empire. Even to the point its in there founding document that its not a empire. But... no they don't. Jumpers State is fairly medieval in technology.

>>95911588Making money is actually rather important in game, with the bank being slower than the investments but scaling with how much you already have very well.
Plenty of big money sinks to spend on and lots of factors limiting your ability to earn more as there's a limited number of respawning enemies with loot to sell.

Since the jump dropped recently, I just finished watching Oldboy. No not the good one, the newer bad western one for the hell of it. And it just struck me that it was the most un-woke film imaginable, but it still committed the same fundamental mistake of the MCU: Deliberately omitting or fundamentally failing to understand the core themes of the source material, clumsily replacing them with hollywood cliches and sleepwalking through what were assumed to be the most marketable moments of the original narrative. The difference is that now the cliches are snarky independent women, men being victim to pratfalls and immersion breaking humour. And then, the cliches were villains having posh british accents as well as a taste for haute culture and fanatically loyal sexy bodyguards, and the protagonist being a hardboiled man on a redemption arc with the love interest being a clingy and generically caring hysterical woman.
The really surreal part was suddenly realising the generic love interest was the Scarlet Witch, the protagonist was Thanos, and the sexy bodyguard was fucking MANTIS. I completely forgot about that, and I am as gobsmacked as the protagonist was when he found out he fucked his daughter. At least in terms of springing a retroactive TWEEST on me that makes me unable to see the same people in the same context ever again, Oldboy (2013) surpassed the original.
Are there any non comically evil organizations in One Piece I can sell my human weapon projects to?
>>95913394The problem is that all evil organizations in One Piece are also comical.
I was making a build for Skulduggery Pleasant and the Grimnoir Chronicles when I remembered we have another jump whose magic system is "you get one kind of magic".
Anyone remember what it was? Some kinds of magic were straight up illegal and the local government was basically enslaving the magicals
>>95913508Pretty much how magic works in Dorohedoro. Aslo Mashle, whenever we get a jump for that.
>Anyone remember what it was? Some kinds of magic were straight up illegal and the local government was basically enslaving the magicalsHuh, not sure on that one.

But Jumper is also infinite so it porbably is quite large.
Is anyone reading the My Hero Academia fic A Precise Note? In this fic Midoriya has a sort of conceptual quirk that lets him make anything more precise, and he uses that to conceptually improve his body in all sorts of ways, like giving him ultraviolet vision or super-intelligence.
Does someone have some quirk combinations from the Jump Quirk Tablet that would simulate something like that?
>>95911689So many isekai protagonist and villains are so brain-dead, just having the power of common sense would allow you to solo the entire setting.
Honestly the cheat powers don't really irritate me, the attitude is what pisses me off. Some authors spend so much pages dick-riding the MC, warping the entire story to praise the MC and his party of ass-kissers for doing basically nothing of real worth, it becomes unbearable, it fills me with the urge to incarnate as a villain and spend at least one "arc" beating the shit out of the MC and his party of braindead onaholes.
I don't want to kill main characters because that is 1.Evil, 2. Disrespectful to the author. 3. I don't actually hate them enough to kill. But goddamn do I want to make certain isekai MC's bleed for their victories, no more ass-kissing the MC just because he is "kind", I want to make those fuckers cry tears of blood to earn every victory.
I know it's not good for my mental health, but sometimes I like to imagine how my favorite villains in fantasy, like certain characters from First law trilogy, would behave if they were dropped in certain isekai works, and it fills me joy imagining how much pain they would deliver before being defeated.
>>95915856Do yourself a favor and never read Smartphone Isekai.

>>95915951You know, NTA but that MC actually has just about every perk in that jump. The guy even eventually reverse engineers God's phone and gives copies to his girls and a couple of his friends.
I thought it was funny because I had always thought that Technomagical Genius perk was a little too powerful back before I read the series, but no. The MC really does have it and every other perk and item (maybe not the Mystic Eyes perk, though) in that jump for himself. Motherfucker is running Creative Mode.
I'm not really sure how to treat the Childhood's Beginning of Bloodborne; on the one hand, ascension into an infant Great One. On the other hand, the Good Hunter's kinda been slaughtering their way through like a good half-dozen "Great" Ones by this point. On the third tendril, death doesn't really mean as much to Great Ones as it does material beings. All told, while my Jumper's been building up to it in my writeup, I'm not exactly sure what the result SHOULD be by the time they actually achieve it.
Can I get some advice, thoughts maybe? Just-what would it even mean to ascend and become a babby Great One? Besides turning into a giant betentacled slug, that is.

>>95916421Do you really not understand the inherent absurdity of asking what it would MEAN to become a being beyond human comprehension?
>>95916555That doesn't even really begin to approach the question, but thanks anyways.
>>95916751That's the ting; ARE Great Ones beings beyond human comprehension? Yeah you need Insight to interact with/perceive some of them, but not all, and the Good Hunter killed his way through several before Ascending. Except maybe that was less an actual feat and more something that was actively prepared for them so they had the chance to Ascend, and none of the Great Ones "killed" in the endeavor actually died as we would understand it? I have no clue.
There is an inherent absurdity to the task, yeah, but it's not an unapproachable task either. I'm mostly just looking for inspiration and thoughts that might help my writing; anything you can share towards figuring out what Childhood's Beginning actually does would be great.
>>95916784>Except maybe that was less an actual feat and more something that was actively prepared for them so they had the chance to Ascend, and none of the Great Ones "killed" in the endeavor actually died as we would understand it? I have no clue.Old ones can't die
>>95916832Are Great Ones also Old Ones? Bloodborne takes cues from Lovecraft, but are they literally connected or just thematically?
>>95916421The "real" world is just another dream and being a Great One let's you interact with it as such. The Hunters waking up in another world after death is an example of that.
Are guns based or cringe?
>>95916784There are two kinds of Great Ones. The "left behind" ones can't die. No matter how many times you kill them, they spawn back in the catacombs. Then there's the "Nightmare Slain" ones whose bodies died and their souls have become gods in the dream world. So you only manage to actually kill four Great Ones: the Brain of Mensis, Mergo's Wet Nurse, The Orphan of Kos, and the Moon Presence. (You kill the Orphan twice, once to kill the physical body and once to kill his soul.) The Great Ones are afraid of Hunters because Hunters have the special power to kill them. That's why the Rune for Hunters is an upside down corpse and the Pthumerians and fish people have a bunch of Hunters corpses hung upside down.
As for what a Great One can actually do... uh create their own layers in the dream world. And brings dolls to life, apparently. It doesn't seem like that great of a deal, especially for a jumper.

>>95917384Cheryl Berger was a rather ordinary teenager from 1986 New York City. She used to dream of becoming an astronaut, but has recently abandoned such a goal after watching a rocket explode on live TV.
Less than a week after that explosion, Cheryl was offered a chance at a new life in her dreams... and took it without hesitation!
-
Dropped into the world of Orre as a twelve-year old girl, Cheryl spends most of her life on the run after her home city gets burned to the ground by criminal syndicates and she loses her family in the chaos. She learns to live off of the land, raising a competent team of Pokรฉmon to help her survive, learning skills and toughing it out in the ultra-hot deserts, training for the day when she's finally able to get her revenge.
Halfway through her jump she does just that, and becomes a local hero of the region. She dedicates the rest of her time in the world to improving the region and establishing an official battling circuit, atop which she sits as champion.
-
First time doing this but might as well share my build. Playing a character more than I am a self-insert. I don't really have a goal or anything here, I just want to write how she'd react to different things and enjoy my time while doing so. Cheryl's pretty sweet and patient, the opposite of both my personality and a lot of the characters I end up writing, so I think starting a chain with her as head will be good practice.
I'll probably do the warehouse next, but I'll save body mod for later. Probably not touching InFamous just because the power level is very high for a second jump and I don't really want her doing superheroics just yet.

>oWoDMage as long as she isnโt a Nephandus or Marauder.
>nWoD Princess.
>>95918432That was my point. By becoming them, you're basically becoming Gohan.
>>95918483OH, I SEE what you MEAN now. Well I think of it more like a SKINWALKER killing and replacing a hiker, or a hunter collecting trophies from fallen PREY.
>>95918455Which wod splat would be best for making yugioh real?
Other than mages, since iirc they can do basic everything.
>>95918455Actually you know what, profoundly terrible idea.
Do you think the Torment draining charm from Exalted Mortals would be useful at all for draining Shadows from a Dethroned in Princess the Hopeful, even as just the base for a custom one for them?
>>95918768I really cannot stress enough that in Old and New, mages overshadow everyone else simply because mages have the best access to fucking with beings of godlike power and devising things like children's card game-based rituals.
Now that's out of the way,
>OldDemon
>NewChangeling
>>95918842I would lean towards "base for a custom one" given that while TECHNICALLY Torment is a form of Bad Vibe, it is the bad vibes of slain god-monster-universes not the regular human beings (insofar as nWoD humans can be considered regular) for whom Nobility and the Dethroned are tied to. So yes it would probably work, and yes it would probably be a profoundly terrible idea given the Empress of Storms proves that it is in fact possible to fuck with Princess powers to intensify them-and that there are good reasons nobody is currently trying.
>>95918867I thought it was the Bad Vibes of INFINITE DARKNESS or something?
Explain further on the empress please. Or just give a page number so I can read it myself.
>>95918768Mummy if you want egypt
VtM if you can get to 10 dots but also want egypt
Demon the Fallen if you time travel back to being an Angel in time to make egypt and give humanity Ka and Ba and then eventually turn into Zorc
>>95918882It's a bit of both really, it's deliberately unclear if the Primordials' dying dreams conjured Oblivion or if Oblivion drew the dying Primordials towards itself when they discovered it with their dying dreams.
>Explain furtherThere's not really much more I can explain. P. 232 speculates about Empress Theory as a progression past a queen, with no clear definition. P. 204 has the brief backstory of the Queen of Storms. All that's really certain is that she has long since transcended her mortal flesh, and is now more of a force of nature who permeates those consumed by her power as well as rages against the Darkness itself within it's own presence instead of a human being. And it is unclear how she did it, or if anyone else should. Probably not. As far as anyone can tell she feels nothing except hatred against the Darkness anymore.
>>95918935Oh, sorry, not Abyssals, Dethroned. Since iirc the enemy of that splat is literally just various manifestations of darkness and despair.
And thats deeply concerning, but thankfully I'm not trying to amplify them, just suck all of the bad juju out of them so they can pass on peacefully.
>>95918943In that case it's merely the bad vibes of Generically Ominous Negative Emotion-Based Magical Force. To the extent it matters (and it doesn't except for powerlevel dickwaving rights) there is no indication the Darkness is superordinate to reality in the sense that the Supernal, the Judges of Duat, the Gentry or even the Cthonians and nWoD Deathlords are. It's just a haze of bad vibes in it's own vague otherspace, and the Dethroned are just Nobles turned inside-out by it's awfulness.
>>95918982...Huh. That's actually kind of a bummer, it makes my vague plan to have it be the final boss of XvsWoD not work out very well. Because, like, I can punch vampires, I can punch werewolves, I can bully nerds, I can do a bunch of other stuff to people, but at the end of the day people will still be people. Unless I can find the actual manifestation of despair and the darkness in peoples hearts and beating it to death ala the primordial war to finally make the setting a better place. I even set up part of that fight in my previous snippets, I was gonna have Mary Sue call on ALL THE CHANGELINGS for an emergency army to defend Alhambra and launch a counterattack.
But basically its a scrub, you say?
>>95919021That is the price Princess pays for being a reasonably balanced and cohesive fansplat that fits into the New World of Darkness without forcing it to completely revolve around itself and not, say, Beast the Primordial instead yes. The Darkness is just the opposing force to the Light, no more and no less. The Queens were winning against the Darkness but in no way, shape or form that suggested they were successful in getting rid of it forever, the Darkness currently has them trapped, and there is zero indication the Darkness has anything to do with the Abyss, the God-Machine, the Lower Depths, the Judges of Duat or the Exarchs who hold all the real powerwank in nWoD as a wider setting.
If you wanted to find "the actual manifestation of despair and the darkness in peoples hearts" you should've started by looking at the Wounds where the Maeljin Incarnae live. At which point you would've found out that the Akathartoi, the closest thing the nWoD has to "real" demons, VASTLY outnumber and in the case of both the Maeljin Incarnae and Lucifer himself VASTLY outgun all known wielders of the Light combined. And to be clear, while they genuinely do have the strongest claim to being "the actual ultimate evil" the problem is everyone I mentioned before the Maeljin Incarnae are entities that with a claim to being "the force sovereign from but actively manipulating the actual ultimate evil" (there is more than one Lower Depth).
>>95919104Hmm. Well that sucks.
>Maeljin Incanae>Wyrm stuffYup, sounds douchey.
>Lucifer>Fell from heaven trying to help human git gud to fight some vague apocalypse...doesn't sound douchey?
I'm split between swinging it as totally a greater evil all along it was only just kinda not really paying attention to the Princesses because they aren't a threat and its actually working on other things (like, say, pentex), or having it somehow merge together with something else to be a megazord of pure evil. Which I will then supplex.
>>95919196>Wyrm stuffIn the nWoD the Maeljin Incarnae have no connection to the Wyrm and the Wyrm isn't canon, they are "merely" Rank 8 Akathartoi (demons primarily characterised by their lack of objective reality, as dwellers of the Lower Depths) vaguely associated with the death of Father Wolf.
>LuciferAgain, forget everything you know about oWoD. We know nothing about nWoD Lucifer other than he has the same spirit rank as the Primal Wild and God (well, the Ain-Soph)
/this is why I always ask people if they mean OLD or NEW World of Darkness, the cosmologies are very different/
>>95919196>We know nothing about nWoD LuciferWell, that and given he's the most powerful of the Akathartoi (of whom lesser examples include a former priest pedophile, the actual Furies, blood or other filth-eating ghouls and a spiteful fallen angel castrated for bestowing warfare via metalworking on mankind) he is probably a force of utmost malevolence.
(At least, he is probably defined as such by his Testimony which presumably exists...somewhere.)
>>95919210And then there's my dumb ass who doesn't understand the difference, doesn't really care about the difference, and is perfectly happy mix editions based on whatever seems coolest for my chain, which includes a pair of twin sisters where one is a dreamer, one is lost, and one is having an identity crisis over finding out she's a changeling.

>>95919251None of them.

For Exalted vs, I decided to make my jumper a Reveler. Unfortunately this means being sloshed out of my mind a significant portion of the time which doesn't make for a great story, so I decided to basically have the story of Xvs basically be about other people reacting to jumpers shenanigans. Cue the most fucked up family tree I could make.

>Dragonblood/DemonJade was young and impulsive and Gregory was a solider before he was a pastor. He looked impressive enough, good genes and all that. Unfortunately the Dragonblood families are very controlling, and their son never exalted, so they have a very rocky relationship wherein the two men are outright a mistake that Jade made and can't get rid of. Very asian mom, wherein her son is a disappointment. Gregory is far more chill by comparison, and married another woman (splat undecided) so that his son would have a semi-stable motherly figure.
>Hunter/GeniusOne of the big things for Geniuses is funding, and at that time, she had none. Anyways, they bumped into each other while he was on a mission and she kind of followed him, leading to her getting some fascinating data on various things, so she stuck around. This transitioned to dates and eventually getting married. He is technically a salesman for a gun company who travels around to promote the guns (shoot vampires), and she spies on him for scientific data which she has a tidy side hustle of selling off to other Geniuses when she isn't looking after their kids.
>Solar/all of thatIf you recognize the name of the snake you should already know what's up, but the kid is the reincarnation of The King Of Uncloaked Steel from Keychain after accidentally purifying himself into a Solar. So the snake is his formerly-a-lunar-currently-trapped-in-a-sword wife from two reincarnations ago. Minimum. Rachel is my player character from VtMb, and is a Malkavian. Vanessa lacks any real detail to her life beyond having a rivalry with Rachel, which gets shown of in the first part of my Xvs writing. The two girls kind of get dragged into a pseudo justice league thing by him after he exalts fighting Clulvnarihe.

Time travel!
I should probably figure out whats up with Clive's mom one of these days. I'd kind of figured her for a random offscreen character but honestly the whole point of this is to shove as many splats onto the family tree as possible, so that doesn't make sense.
>>95919345You could go to Mahoyo as a Meinster and have your Great Three Ploys have the form of cute girls.
Pretty much what Van-fem does.
>>95919432Youโre using most of the splats already. Though given your comment about not caring about new/old wod, you could make them the other version of demon, mummy, or vampire, whichever you arenโt using already. Thereโs also both versions of werewolf, as well as Kindred of the East, Orpheus, and Deviant.
Actually, donโt do Deviant for the stepmom. Part of their inspiration is Kamen Rider, so you should have the Princess date one instead.
>>95919432>I should probably figure out whats up with Clive's mom one of these days.Obviously she's the token mortal. Also the scariest member of the family
>>95919508>Giving the magical girl a kamen rider bfI like the way you think.
Also, fanfics have taught me that Werewolves ruin everything they touch and both need/deserve to get their asses kicked, so I will not be including them on the family tree. Other Were-things might be an option, but fuck werewolves.
>>95919520...You know what, that's actually fair - there needs to be at least one normal human in here, for completion.
>>95919538Werewolf might fit for one of the parents of the Kamen rider, iirc there are a handful of scientifically created were-animals designed by Pentex to screw with the werewolves. Thatโs similar enough to Deviant.

>Backgrounds: The Ebon Dragon commands virtually limitless resources and servants, giving him a rating of 5 (or even N/A where such advantages can be extrapolated further) in any Background that reasonably expresses this authority and station. If he wants something and has ever had any remote chance of obtaining it, he has probably done so.

>>95920568>the ebon dragon doesn't have enough background dots to compete with a legendary first age solar
>>95920677Nobody has enough background dots to compete with a legendary first age solar.
>>95920677First Age Solars would invent new categories just to mock their enemies for being physically unable to compete in them. The Ebon Dragon is not allowed to directly participate in the Order-Conferring Trade Pattern, therefore his Wealth dots are pathetic compared to a First Age Solar even moderately interested in acquiring wealth.
>>95920677It seems to be around the same, Legendary Solars in the book have all 5 dots and a few N/As.
Keep in mind that a lot of the things that Solars build in the First Age were made using spirit labour, a lot of the time demons.
Like, even by the late First Age, the Solar Deliberative still needed some resources that could only be produced in the manses left behind by Auto-kun's souls.

>>95921236why would you purchase a divine body when you got divine blood and vermillion Oni?
Your jumper will quickly reach the level of an extremly powerful divine spirit(and pureblood dragon, and super kitsune and Super Oni).
If you want people to use magecraft it would likely be as simple as blessing them and connecting them to your authority, also you could likely give people extremly potent magic circuits by letting them drink some of your blood considering your dragon powers.
>>95920928Monster or โmonsterโ?
>>95921546Monster, no quotations. I do not need fuckbuddies, I need supersoldiers.
>>95921526I was thinking of grabbing a perk in the next jump to eat it and gain its power. In terms of raw power it might not be significant but it's not like it's nature is going to be identical to mine so there should be some versatility at least. Also you get a new one each jump appropriate for the setting so the next time I visit TES I can just go "One heart of Lorkhan plox".
I mostly took the jump for Vermillion Oni, the other stuff is just extra.
>>95920699what Essence do the various Experiences in First Age start with?
>>95920928QQ's kyonyuu fantasy, one of the drop-in capstone items is iirc a whole bunch of demihumans and monsters that are willing to fight for you (and provide you waifus)
>>95921526maybe that want the divine body to give to other people?
>>95920928Pokemon Infinite Fusion
>>95921698not shard but legendary should either be 9 or 10 (probably ten considering who the examples are). The steps below that are probably in 1 or 2 dot increments so the step below legendary would be 7-8, then 5-6 and etc. It's worth pointing out though that the experience perk isn't just about having a high essence but also about having everything that comes with that age and experience like a vastly expanded pool of mastered charms, higher abilities and skills, more knowledge of sorcery (if you picked up the sorcerer perk at least), more knowledge of various different crafts (if you picked up crafting stuff) and etc.
>>95921644>I was thinking of grabbing a perk in the next jump to eat it and gain its power.Oh, you can already do that, there's multiple characters that hae eaten divine bdies to empwer yourself like Bai Ruolong and Ergo in Case Files. Also there was that Reinforcement specialst in Fate Strange Fake who taps into the mystery of Oni, and he also tried to do that but was stopped by the Vermillion mixed blood Kouma.
Someone like you who has Oni blood could definitely just eat it. Hell, if you choose to have a demon power like SHIKI Tohno you could probably just integrate it into your body perfectly and make its power fully yous.
If that is your plan and you want to keep getting new divine body parts in new jumps it makes sense.
>>95921709>maybe that want the divine body to give to other people?Dont see how that ould matter unless he wants someone else to eat it(where again feeding them his own body parts would probably be more potent), the main way divine bdies are used is by allowing people to coonnect themselves to it to get a degraded form of divine magic, but as a full on divine spirit you can just give people a much stronger version right of the bat.
>>95921785>Oh, you can already do thatWell that's good because the perk I was planning on turned out to be weaker than I remembered, and also requires me to have killed the thing I eat myself. That being the one in D&D Dragons. I know other such perks exist but I forget where.
>>95921953Have you decided what your oni blood ability would be?
Because even at base level that isn't too far fetched and that is before you boost it to high levels throughh Vermillion Oni.
Like I already said, SHIKI Tohno already got soomething similar going on and he's not a Vermillion Oni, this is how his ability is described.
>One of his abilities as a demon hybrid is a "death-resistant body". Just as it sounds, it means he has a body that will not die. However, this is not the ability to heal wounds, but the ability to reconfigure his body in order to survive despite his wounds. It is this ability to freely manipulate his flesh that allows him to use his own spilled blood as a sword by coagulating it.>Corrosive Separation. One of Tohno SHIKI's abilities as a demon hybrid. A curse of fusion by contact.>SHIKI is naturally capable of continuing to use his own body no matter what condition it's in, but his ultimate ability is actually restoring his own flesh by assimilating the flesh of others. In a word, it's the no holds barred version of an organ transplant.>Though SHIKI became a vampire due to being invaded by Roa's consciousness, this innate ability as a demon hybrid was already pretty vampire-ish. (Of course, in the end it's just making up for lost parts.) so you can easily get something stronger than the perk.
>>95921990I actually forgot I got one. I suppose something like the ability to truly incorporate what I devour into my being to the extent of making it inheritable would round up the build nicely.
>>95921727Legendary start with 7 as per the core book, you can purchase more.
The Hierophant is just Essence 8 and he is considered Legendary even if he is not a Golden Hero Vassal.
>>95922040>truly incorporate what I devour into my being to the extent of making it inheritable that also has precedent in setting with Sigurd devouring the heart and bloood of a dragon to gain power and this ending up being at least partially inherited by his daughter.
Though generally any child of your jumper would have a crazy heritage just from the stuff in this jump alone.
Also if you care about your decendents I recommend also picking the Fifth Heavenly Hunter perk in this jump which makes it much easier to pass down abilities and techniques to your decendents even if they have a very low chance of inheritence, it also makes sure none of them will struggle with self control like many oni blooded people do.
>>95919750I appreciate the attempt, but nah. I'm pretty sure the mockery breeds are highly tainted. Might make for good villains, because kaijin, but not really sure I want that on the family tree.

Is there any easy way to search through the Jumpchain drive? It's fucking enormous and completely unsorted past the year 2021. There are older jumps under Series, sure, but I've seen plenty of interesting newer jumps in the public-access folder that I just cannot fucking find because Google either never had a drive-specific search function or removed it at some point because fuck you.

>>95921698I decided to leave it deliberately vague since, to be quite honest, First Age's lore is quite clear that there is considerable variance between Solars capabilities that transcend Essence ranking-with the most standout example being Brigid somehow surviving the Primordial War while being useless then becoming the mother of sorcery. The Hierophant of course is another because while the standard for Legendary IS supposed to be mostly Primordial War veterans, the Hierophant taking a leading role in the aftermath of the Solar Civil War gave him disproportionate clout.
I'd accept taking or not taking thematically relevant perks as justifications for being on the higher or lower bounds of any of the minimums/maximums for listed examples in Experiences, although honestly I don't mind starting at whatever Essence within reason since First Age makes clear that Essence rank alone determines the power of Solars less than personal accomplishments, training and experimentation.

>>95926036Can you give me a list of all your jumps please?
So this is a interesting world honestly just given how... malleable it is a bit given its a amalgamation of Shakespeare's works. Being able to retcon reality even on a minor level is a little bit of a terrifying power existentially for Jumper. He'll probably try to file that away for something to use only very rarely. Oh but with historic hometown now it marks a bit of a milestone for jumper. He firmly falls into the "not homeless" camp now. Having a island that follows him. (Koridai) and a a home, and now a town to put around that home. He's got a decent place to return to in each jump for a sense of continuity. That... help I think having a home.

It says a lot about what the writers thought about Lunars that Lilith, who is supposed to be an exceptional martial artist, is merely E7
I haven't consumed all that much Xianxia, is this setting for the generic reasonable:
This reality is boundless is more ways than one. Each world stretches on forever in spatial terms, then there's a higher world where everything is more powerful and condensed containing infinite of the worlds on the lower tier, and then the higher world for the higher world and so on with no top. Same with cultivation, there just is no top. Moving up through the worlds is actually a natural process. You simply get spat out to the next tier when you become too big for the world to contain. By the same token, trying to go to a lower world is challenging to say the least and typically accomplished through avatars "small" enough for the world to accommodate. It should go without saying but these worlds are by no means flat. The gap between the least of the beings and the greatest the world will host is quite wide indeed, and ascension is by no means a common event (aside from actually constantly happening what with each world being infinite).
In terms of cultivation types, cultures, aesthetics and whatnot, it's an absolute kitchen sink but you can find areas of arbitrary size for any given theme you might think of.
>>95927865Yeah, that sounds about normal. The lack of distinct planets will hamper any planet-shattering battles or the like, but that's literally all having planets ever amounts to in xianxia: stage setting for beeg cosmic shenanigans to show off how beeg your powerlevels are.
In the current xianxia I'm reading a single city in a very tiny country is 3 million miles in diameter. Earth, for reference, is approximately 8 thousand miles in diameter. Again, tiny city in a tiny country in a tiny region in a tiny continent on the starter planet.

Hey Skyrim since 5.7 is pretty much the Abyss and Khaenri'ah loredrop patch any chance to add more abyss stuff to the jump next update? It's also neat how the abyss can just mimic the elements too but considering that abyss monsters can mimic other things it's not that big of a surprise.
>>95927548That was before he was 'crippled' and 'became himself' after the Primordial War, instead of the Dragon's Shadow.
>>95928009I probably will. I'm gonna have to catch up to the story later though, right now Baldur's Gate 3 is taking up most of the storage space in my computer.
>>95928017I like that the Ebon Dragon is so weak as a Primordial that any time he is wounded or crippled, he paradoxically becomes stronger (or at least more annoying) that what he was before.
Also, for the weakest Primordial, his powerset is quite strong if you forget his lack of parries and virtue weakness. In any other setting he would be a much worse nightmare to deal that many of his siblings. One of his charms is basically just summoning an evil clone squad of anyone.
Reminder: while great minds think alike, fools seldom differ.
>>95928046People used to mock his 2e depiction as being Edgy Aku, but honestly I think that's both a fair assessment and a compliment. Ebby potentially having the power to cover the world in cursed darkness where wounds don't heal, nobody can muster hope, and at any moment you could be attacked by sociopathic doppelgangers of yourself or your loved ones while being simultaneously restrained by the darkness itself and hit with paralysing pain is limited by the fact that he's such a bitch that he NEEDS a Charm to attack in melee under very specific conditions. An Infernal with Ebby Charms can do things with them that the real Ebby never would unless lacking any other option.
>>95927809Also to answer the actual question, if we set aside 3e's more holistic approach to the Usurpation the main answers are because the Solars were so mad with power at that point they were refusing to listen to their own Charms when they informed them they had become existential threats to what they once defended, because SMAs and Craft: Fate are absolute bitches to deal with even if you can just flex through Fate-based effects /as long as you know they're there/, and because canonically 5 dots is a sufficient rating for building an artifact that is basically a weapon-shaped chunk of Solar kryptonite. Seriously, artifacts. They slot neatly inside all the plot holes of Exalted!
>>95928026Also any plans on updating the Manifestations of desires perk since we've known since Neuvillette's release that Visions are handed out by the archon's authority automatically and can be handed out by a sovereign if they so choose? Also a slight rework based on how Hydro homie's story implies that visions also make an Archon stronger when a vision user dies?
>From that day on, whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift. Though they might know nothing of who or what wish had stepped into the threshold of the sacred, the Seven Archons still had to impart a shattered shard of their mastery to that person. And when one so gifted completed their duty... the gift the gods would receive in return would be more abundant still.>Neuvillette obeys no edict from the heavens, but he does acknowledge human will. So he too set aside parts of himself, as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them

>>95928137Being able to turn every setting into wingfic is pretty funny I reckon.
>>95928517I want to separate the warehouse from the fiefdom, have the warehouse be its own building within it. If there was just a fiefdom/country/hamlet/general land-ownership supplement, Iโd be using that instead of Base of Operations 100%.
>>95928555Why separate it?
What the fuck is wingfic?
>>95928739Fanfic genre where people have wings
>>95928735I dunno, autism. I tried to keep them together but it really bugged me for some reason. Probably because I immediately converted the Base of Operations into a fiefdom, and kept getting upgrades to that end, but couldn't customize the warehouse I also wanted nearly as much because of how I was handling the fiefdom.
The warehouse is going to be my Jumper's castle while the Base of Operations is going to include the moat and all the surrounding settlement, if you get my drift. Cosmic Warehouse doesn't have any kind of upgrades for earth-like aesthetics or utilities separate from the base, as well as less space overall, so I'm using that for the warehouse portion.
>>95927981It's white martians who are persecuted though so it would be something akin to a black man dunking his face in chalk.
>>95928750Fair. I don't really see much reason to take both myself. Especially since I like buying other pocket dimensions to add to the Base of Operations, like My Castle from that one Fire Emblem jump
>>95928768also fair, and significantly less autistic than my ass. I have an "Annexed" portion for stuff like the Castle you're describing, where I'll integrate it into the fiefdom with a bit of writing and explanation, because for some reason my brain breaks if I don't make clear exactly how this random castle is going to fit into my endless expanse of pet kaiju and farmer-knights.
>>95928780... I just wanna point out that that's actually how the Base of Operations's District upgrade works. You've got your normal base and then an ever growing landmass for any properties you happen to acquire, with convenient roads leading to the other properties.
>>95928787I know, and I'm accounting for it as well as paying the point price, but I'm saying that I can't just add that stuff without writing it out or I short-circuit.
That, and the Districts thing doesn't entirely account for pocket dimensions that look completely different or anything. I don't want that stuff aimlessly floating around in the fiefdom since it'll fuck up the aesthetics, so I section it off.
>>95928794... This reminds of the pocket dimension connecting perk from The Old Kingdom
>When Worlds Collide (400 cp): The Old Kingdom didn't always have the place known as Ancelstierre to its south, nor the Empty Lands to its north. By some process, entirely separate worlds can be connected at the boundary, and you now have access to a fraction of that power. You may connect your pocket dimensions, personal realities and the like by way of an intervening border between them. Rules/metaphysics in one such world do not apply in the others.

Is the Narrator option from the new Undertale jump a companion or a follower?
Also, would you say that stuff like the Yumie alternate personality in Hellsing or possessing entities like said Narrator or a Tailed Beast count as close enough to an "inner spirit" for the Brother Blade perk in Bleach (the one that manifests your zanpakuto and similar beings in the outside world)?
I'm kind of interested in inner spirits/voices and friendly possessing entities in general right now, so they came to mind.
Any other ideas on how to improve aid inner spirits without importing them as actual companions (and thus making them take up a slot), by the way?
>>95929703Nta, but all we got right now is Post Reboot Archie, and certainly not as bad as Pre Reboot Archie, it's a lot closer to the games. Only problem is that it got cancelled very early, not even a hundred issues from both the main series and Sonic Universe iirc.
>>95929662Looks good in my very inexpert opinion.
Salt shaker reminds me of that... dollhouse fullbringer, or something like that? I don't fully remember. Strong, but a Captain is not going to just stand still to allow you to flavor him.
The Zanpakuto feels a bit shakier, but the concept seems interesting. I might have done something like having Shikai be aimbot/homing projectiles while the Bankai warps space or otherwise becomes an autohit, but that could just be my personal preference for implementing this concept idk. Just throwing it out in case there's info there that turns out useful for you.
>>95929904>Is the Narrator option from the new Undertale jump a companion or a follower?Companion
what's the difference between a companion and a follower? I feel like i'm missing something
>>95929982Companions come typically from specifically labeled companion options and gain special mechanics involving always respawning after a certain amount of time and being able to be imported into jumps with the companion import options, though they're also subject to the 8 companions in a jump limit. Followers have no such limit but don't get the other benefits of being a companion. Followers often come from scenarios or item/army builder sections.
>>95929982You can only have eight companions out at once, but you can also import companions into jumps to give them a history in the setting and access to perks. Also they come back to life when slain
There's no limit to how many followers you have, but you can't usually import them and don't generally come with histories. Whether or not they come back from the dead depends on the item you got them from
>>95930015...so Companions are companions, while Followers are basically just mooks or army minions kind of? That you presumably can't take with you to meta spaces like the warehouse?
>>95929956Yeah, while it might be possible to weaponize the shaker my main idea is to make the use of older perks that allow me to gain power from eating things (or people) more comfortable. As for the zanpakuto, it reflects jumper's laziness in not wanting to move around or even think about how to fight. Its "weakness" is that the wielder has to provide all the power behind the strikes.
>>95930033You can take them to pocket dimensions and shit. Nothing stops that.
So you can take both Companions and Followers out of Jumps, but can only bring Companions with you to new ones?
>>95930058No, they can both come to New jumps with you.
>>95930075then what's the difference
>>95930080I just explained the mechanical differences
>>95930080Followers were invented because people realised the 8 companions thing was stupid but people weren't willing to break Quicksilvers rules so we had to skirt around it.
>>95930058Followers follow you by default, companions have to be slotted into your eight companion slots (if you don't they'll just be inactive and can be slotted in later). Companions can, but don't have to be, imported to obtain a background and build in jumps.
>>95930033Followers can be named characters, you typically obtain followers through items and the item in question details how the followers work. There are some that allow you to take anyone you please as a follower.
>>95930080Followers don't respawn and don't get builds. They are essentially just living items.
>>95929662What do you think of my hollow ability?
>Sol de VacioAllows to manifest from any piece of my soul a black sun upon the area, from wich I can scry the area, absorb energy, both from the ambient, attacks and souls, and then redistribute it, to buff and heal my allies. It collapses if the vessel from wich I'm manifesting it is damaged too much.
>>95930100If Followers can come to different jumps with you too, the only real difference I can find is that Followers don't get existing histories or the option to make their own builds in new Jumps... which just makes the distinction confusing and I don't know why Followers would need to exist if this was the case. Just get rid of the companion limit and make some generic build you can apply to all your Followers per Jump.
>>95930104pussies

creative freedommmmm
Do people really have an issue with the 8 companion limit? I almost find it too much lol, I struggle to bother making that many builds for that many characters. I'm personally lowering it to like 2 per Jump I think.
>>95930120Literally what is the point of this. Why call them Followers at that point. Just make them Companions and ditch the limit
>>95930058The difference is that you can import companions into jumps.
Importing someone gives them a history in the jump you're importing them into and lets them get new powers
>>95930126I'm no expert on Bleach, It's been ages since I watched the parts where hollows were prominent. In terms of suitability it seems fine, I guess. In terms of usefulness, I assume you have a plan and supplementary powers for utilizing it.
FWIW all I wrote for my hollow power is
>Theme: SeparationBut the idea is that when I physically tear into someone it also tears into their mental/spiritual traits, and as the power matures I could pull someone's hostility, skill at swordplay, karma or whatever out of them as its own person.
>>95930058Your wife that you companioned in medieval times can be reborn as a ninja with her own build in Naruto, but that army of knights you also brought with you remains a normal army of knights and does not get anything from the new jump they travel to (not without you actively trying to empower them like doing Orochimaru experiments, at least). And neither does your dog who you just want to carry with you for emotional support and aren't planning to turn into Krypto 2.0.
Of course, group companions like the Pink Tide are also a thing, but in general?
Companions get power but are limited outside a few specific circumstances. Followers can accompany you with no restrictions, but in exchange they don't get fun new powers.
>>95930291So the main difference is that Companions are specifically changed to fit the setting + can gain new powers, while Followers just stay the same?
Do the abilities associated with the special freebie backgrounds in Archie Sonic Jump (like solo origin Leader + From Another Dimension) act like perks, persisting across jumps, or only for the duration of the jump?
Would my jumper have the elemental abilities after the jump or not? Or does it count as a part of my jumper's Mobian form?
>>95930298Pretty much. Companions don't NEED to be imported or have a background just like you can personally be a Drop In.
I'd say it's partially a matter of approach and preference, complicated by the fact that companions were a thing much earlier than follower, but... pretty much.
Following the Naruto example, if Naruto was the Jumper companions were meant to be the rest Team 7. Your crew, the group of people who are going to keep supporting you and growing with you as you meet new challenges.
Meanwhile, a Follower could be Ichiraku. The realization that just because you like his company and his ramen, he doesn't need to be anything more than he already is. He's not going to go into battle with you, doesn't need to become a shinigami in Bleach or whatever. And thus people wanted to be able to carry people like that without using up a companion slot.
>>95930210>I assume you have a plan and supplementary powers for utilizing it.It's connected to my power to share and therefore the ability to spread my soul and influence, but the main reasoning was to copy a certain concept from another setting, and therefore mainly buff "villains" (the filler/movie characters I want to recruit) manifesting always as this ominous sun.
>>95930358So the companion is a deuteragonist while the follower is a supporting cast member. Got it.
I do not envy the triple-digit Jumpers who have to keep track of all of those, jesus. I'm probably just going to ignore the concept and stick to my two or three actual Companions, then assume that everyone I liked in a Jump was automatically shipped off to the fiefdom or something.
>>95930414Oh sure, just because it's available doesn't mean you have to use it.
But if you ever want to for example make a new Guild Base in Overlord and then carry all its NPC inhabitants with you, you'd have the option.
>>95930414>I do not envy the triple-digit Jumpers who have to keep track of all of those, jesus. This is exactly why even though mass companion imports sounds super broken, it's actually fairly balanced. Because even if you could do that for a chain of 50 to 100 jumps, who in their right mind would go past 10 jumps worth of that at full utilization when it means filling out/tracking 50+ companion builds after jump 7 (assuming you only got 8 new companions per jump)?
What do you think companioning "Nareno Miu" as someone with the Joy Boy perk (and maybe Nika fruit too while we're at it) would be like? How would this affect Totally Not Imu In Disguise?
>>95930465>mass companion imports sounds super brokenI honestly thought it sounded like a punishment more than a perk...
>>95930461Yeah, fair enough. I'm way too much of a softie to do stuff like bring dogs along with me to superhero settings (think of all the danger it'd be in!), but I guess I can see Followers working for funny fish out of water scenarios or crossover fanwank.
>>95930483>Joy BoyAnnoyed but hides it.
>Nika fruit Visibly sweating.
>>95930498Now I can't decide which is funnier: annoyed Imu ending up closer to tsundere due to Nakama/Beautiful/both, or trying to keep her anxiety under control because the new Nika spontaneously decided they're best buddies and sure this is better than fighting him again but it is STRESSFUL.
Is there anything stopping a World Noble from going around overruling or overthrowing evil local rulers, like that one that Kuma and Ginny rebelled against?
I know that they can't interfere in the actions of other Celestial Dragons because then the God Knights get involved, but I'm unsure if being too interested in governance or in reforming the bad PR of the Celestial Dragons would annoy the Five Elder Planets.
>>95930739If you start getting too involved they'll probably do something eventually, especially because the evil kings usually bring in the most money for the heavenly tribute. Celestial Dragons also just hate when one of their own tries to be good and help regular people. I doubt you could reform the reputation of CDs given the near thousand years of them being horrible.
>>95930751Nta, do you think Imu would agree to a deal where I receive the abyss/power of evil and become the pirate king, acting as essentially a gatekeeper for Laugh Tale, while never revealing its secrets?
>>95924546>there doesn't seem to be a single My Little Pony jumphttps://www.reddit.com/r/JumpChain/comments/lirxte/my_little_pony_friendship_is_magic/
>>95930782If you were a big enough threat, possibly. It seems like in the new chapter it's implied Shanks was connected to Imu and when he sacrificed his arm to the Lord of the Coast it was so the tattoo that connected him to Imu would be removed, so it's possible from Imu's perspective that you're gonna snake him.
>>95930806I'm not sure how much I believe that, as Gaban didn't aim at the mark when he attacked Sommer, so I don't know if it's that easy to remove their power, but thank you anyway.
Exalted is great when you can go and read how poorly worded some of the charms are. No better feeling than finding a charm that makes you functionally invincible by accident.
>>95930751>especially because the evil kings usually bring in the most money for the heavenly tributeSo it isn't an inflexible amount, then?
>Celestial Dragons also just hate when one of their own tries to be good and help regular peopleI see. Is it helping or is it getting too attached to their "lessers"?
I was thinking that one didn't need to abandon their status like Donquixote and there might have been some interesting room for "god magnanimously bestowing blessings" or "no one gets to harm our citizens but us" shenanigans, but in hindsight Shanks was also looked down on, wasn't he?
>I doubt you could reform the reputation of CDs given the near thousand years of them being horrible.Yeah, probably. Felt like an interesting middle point between going pirate/revolutionary and being like his family, taking that one statement about how each CD generation is worse than the last and essentially being an atavism in that regard. Someone trying to use the fact that most World Nobles don't leave Mary Geoise to give the world an example that even if most CD are awful not ALL of them are, trying to improve the World and weaken support of Dragon at the same time.
Thank you for the information.
>>95930848>So it isn't an inflexible amount, then?It is, but the evil kings are willing to oppress their people to extract enough money out of them to meet the quota
>>95930837Exalted is noteworthy for being a shittily balanced game where the characters are golden tissue paper. If you think you've found a broken rule in the other direction, you're interpreting it wrong.
>>95930879Ah I see, it's a matter of a lot of places not actually meeting the quota then?
Good to know. It'll be trickier then, although perhaps still doable if they generate enough money for the quota in some other way. I'll have to think on it...

This wonโt be easy, and youโll probably have to go out of your way quite a bit to pull off such a drastic change of heart in somebody else, but even one of the worst people can change just by hanging out with them for a little less than a week.

>>95930915Stasis pods are for moving someone who isn't a companion or follower or whatever.
Someone from an old jump without companion option perhaps, or idk if it could work for someone who you just want to move from World A to World B instead of keeping them around indefinitely.
Of course there are clear issues with them, which is why a lot of people houserule instead.
>>95930951You could maybe achieve something with that, but I think Imu is just a tad bit more evil than Kuzco.
>>95930961I'm adapting a lot of it yeah. I'm getting rid of the cooldown because it's kind of counterintuitive though. (Yes, buy pods to transport your companions to other Jumps and then make it impossible to do two Jumps in a row with this very expensive upgrade you purchased, great idea).
>>95930954The 8 companion limit being solely for imports meaning you can have more as drop ins without builds or just hanging out in any of your properties. IIRC that shit is even tacitly acknowledged because of the nature of the stasis pods themselves.
>>95930974The ones from NuBee's Base of Operations just straight up turn people into companions proper, instead of having them be attached to the pods
>>95930993Yeah, I like that bit about it. I think it's a clever way of reusing the idea. I'm stealing it wholesale.
>>95930970True true. And might actually acknowledge herself as evil given how she talks about the "Power of Evil". On the other hand, that might just mean a bigger and longer adventure is necessary, and One Piece is good for those. It felt like an interesting combo given that she'd be going on adventures with you as Miu on her own initiative with no need for llama transformations.
Might end up depending on what we find out about her in the future, like why she's interested in Vivi/her ancestor.

>>95930837For me it's Yozi-Body Unity. You are now super-intangible to the extent people AND ghosts need specialised means of affecting something in the opposite state of their own materiality to even touch you.
Question. So we know that humans have basically always known how to farm and domesticate animals. We know this because Cain was a farmer and Abel was a shepherd (and they learned it from Adam and Eve witht their gardening skills). However, we also know that all societies regardless of race or culture were at some point hunter-gatherers. Why is this? Did God memory wipe all knowledge from the descendants of Noah, who were the only ones to survive the flood and- among other things- expert carpenters and shepherds? Humans have at points lost much of their accumulated knowledge, but losing even the knowledge of domesticating animals and farming is really profound unless literally every farmer and shepherd died across the entire world (or God memory wiped everyone).

TLDR we used to have admin rights but various events such as being cast from the garden, the onset of aging, the flood and the tower of Babel worsened the initially ironclad form of interaction between humans and animals, forcing humans to relearn animal husbandry in a fallen world.
>What did your jumper doI introduced slood, a natural substance common to many worlds in the multiverse (at least, the branch of it that includes the Dsicworld) that is much easier to discover than fire and only slightly harder to discover than water. It's vital for food preparation, and best spread evenly through pipes to manage the slood differentials in a given building.
>>95932238now make a jump for it

Because thatโslood.

No, u. I have enough stuff, thanks.

>>95932495Fair enough. Itโll have to be something for later then, since I have several projects of my own.
This is an odd question about the Ringu jump. Do you start off knowing what it will take to companion Sadako? Is it something you have to figure out? Because it seems pretty specific.

>that's lood
>>95932531The eternal problem - being too distracted by this other project to get anything done on your current one.
At the very least, a quick check says the author has a second fate/futa doujin, so you might be able to draw from that as well.
>>95932273What's worse is that if it wasn't for the pointless clarification it wouldn't matter. Why write this unless you want people to stack hardness? It wouldn't make sense to stack it until they specified only one (1) of these effects doesn't stack.
>Each version of this Charm grants a unique power. Additionally, invoking any version grants the character a natural lethal soak and Hardness rating equal to her Stamina, and permits the character to parry lethal attacks unarmed without a stunt. (The lethal soak granted by this Charm does not stack upon itself with multiple invocations. Apply the soak bonus only once.)
>>95932570>something much more interesting than that. Such as?
>I mean one that caters to my fetishes (patrician) not your fetishes (cuckshit)Like what?
>>95932608>Futa/Grand OrderReminds me of a FGO quest where the protagonist made the various Singularities lewder and in the process slowly retconed history into being lewder in general. Presumably this version would involve futas slowly being retconed into history along with things getting lewder.
>>95932618>Each version of this Charm grants a unique power>"ST, my unique power is...getting even more natural lethal soak and a Hardness rating equal to my D E X T E R I T Y"
>>95932648Sounds neat. Got a sauce?
>>95932658Nah it's (Color) Jade Transformation/Fivefold Embodiment of (Color) Jade. If you pop all five versions at once you get a hardness rating of (5 * Stamina) + (Essence + highest Virtue)/2. You can start with 7 dots of Stamina. Lmao.
>>95915318I know our Star Trek jumps are kinda shit, but what about the Caitians?
>>95932676>https://fiction.live/stories/Fate-Grand-Romance/Sa5P728KcTbYPFMu4
>>95932618I would read that as only getting the hardness once just like the soak.
>>95932677Nah it would be (Stamina)+(Essence + highest Virtue)/2 which allows for 12 Hardness at max.
>>95932726>>95932735If it didn't have that little bit in parentheses I would agree with you but someone went out of their way to say you don't stack the soak while not mentioning the hardness.
>>95932748It is a general given in 2e that you can't get more Hardness than your Soak.
>>95932767Ok but where is that specifically stated? I can't think of anything that gives more hardness than soak but nothing in the rules that I know of says you can't have more of the former than the latter.
Do any jumps offer perks to scale your military rank to your position in a tech company?
>Be Abyssal Exalt
>Go to Pathfinder
>Gain the attention and favor of Sarenrae, goddess of The Sun, Redemption, and Healing
>Petition her to help you cleanse the Neverbornโs shadowy taint from your Exaltation and return it to its proper state of Solar Righteousness
Should this work?
>>95932767>>95932789 (Me)
Actually I did think of one. In the same book there is an Artisan charm that lets you make warded barriers. You spend motes for soak and hardness separately. So as far as that book is concerned you can have things with higher hardness than soak.
>>95932808Unclear. Based on her capabilities (fighting Asmodeus hard enough to make him give up and fuck off, causing stars to give life, smiting Gormuz) I think Saranrae certainly doesnโt lack for power. The question is if she has the finesse to cleanse it. Itโs a plot point that Lytek has very specific divine tools to let him tinker with an Exaltation on the level of potentially removing the taint if he was informed it was there, and while Saranrae far exceeds the non-Incarna gods in raw power (and exceed the Incarnae in big picture capabilities they can do in-person, without using the cosmological construct that falls under their purview) she seems to struggle with finesse given the effects of the smiting.
Gun to my head I would say Sanrenrae COULD potentially do itโฆwith active help from the Abyssal. Itโs going to come down to a Wish-level effect and how theoretically risky those are, probably with the Abyssal either building some kind of artifact to affect the taint or actively performing acts of great heroism (which will definitely smite them with Resonance, gotta get around that somehow) to catalyse the development of Charms like the one that restores Solar ones and their spiritual evolution towards Solar themes.
>>95932935Can you get around being smote with Resonance by just having extreme regeneration?
>>95932965For yourself certainly, itโs your mind/the environment/your relationships that suffer for it at that point depending on the form that manifests.
>>95932965Resonance isn't just taking damage from pissed off Neverborn. It is a roll table that includes killing everything around you for a variable distance up to a couple miles, Getting possessed and doing Neverborn things for a day or so, Permanently losing Intimacies to the Void, Getting stuck with a supernatural fear aura for a couple of days.
>>95932982>>95932992Oh. Abyssals are even more edgy than I thought.
>>95933027Their purpose is to literally Destroy Everything, and unlike Infernals they are designed such that them just existing and wandering around will fulfill their purpose regardless of their wishes. Every time they have a resonance eruption they drag creation a little closer to the Void. Even if they wander around being a hero as best they can they slowly make reality weaker and just Less.
>>959330272eโs guide to Resonance specifically states that the Neverborn LIKE IT if you choose to deal with your Resonance by venting it on Creation, because spreading entropic wastelands is absolutely doing their will (ending Creation). They were designed first and foremost as weapons. They donโt care if an Abyssal is stubbornly rebellious against getting raped into submission by their Deathlord or soul-raped by maddening visions from Oblivion, because merely resisting the will of the Neverborn loads them up with anti-Creation ammunition.
>>95911588I need this irl
>>95933072The Neverborn are aware enough to have wills and things that they like?
>>95933090In 2e? Oh yes explicitly, Immortal Malevolence Enslavement is explicitly about sucking up to them so hard they resurrect you if you die (in an explicitly agonising, degrading way right outside their tomb-bodies that costs you a level of Essence. They absolutely have enough agency to play favourites, with the Dowagerโs patron Neverborn still hoping sheโll pull out another Great Contagion or worse-level calamity.
>>95933102Can they be bargained with?
>>95933090Yeah in 2e they were mostly unconscious until a group of first age exalts went down and cracked a bunch of their tombs open. They are still pretty mad and delirious but they have the ability to perceive the underworld and influence things on a broad scale. Mainly the problem is that they are all being super tortured by being unable to fully die and working at cross purposes.
>>95933131Yes* But they are more likely to kill you and then drag your ghost near enough to them for the brainwashing to take hold than to deal fairly with you.
