It's comfy on the merit that it's SIGNIFICANTLY more affordable than either Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! for a competitively viable deck and most decks with recentish support are competitively viable if you pilot them well.

It's significantly more balanced, but decks like Sakuya can play options for free and by extension digivolve for free, Megidra/DukeX can gain a ton of memory cause of dated cards as well as punish you for punishing them by gaining memory on deletion, and Blue Galaxy just ramps up memory for free making their turn an entire hour.
It sounds scary, but once you learn the match-up you can remember which of your cards shine the most v. Them.

God Hunters is such a fucking obnoxious deck to play into. Gains memory out the ass for doing nothing and even if you actually have an evolution cost floodgate it will never survive more than a turn.

The list I use in picrel. This is a tamerless variant that doesnt use Ruin Mode. Ruin Mode is expensive staple that ican run 50- 60+ USD atm.
There was a LilithLevia deck that topped in the UK which bought attention to the ST Gatomon from the Mastemon starter deck. ST Gatomon can On Play search for Yellows and Purples. So if you want to use Retailation inheritable Impmon + Ruin Mode + ST Matt, you can go that route too for potential double searching.
Gatomon also makes all your LadyDevis 2 evo cost cheaper (they are all Fallen Angels) and the reduction stacks with X-Antibody Protoform. Usually the board state I like to go for is LilithX + any weenie. Use LadyDeviX inherit effect to free play ST Gato from trash, On Play for Yellow/Purple top 3 then on your turn you can Protoform + ST Gato for a free LadyDeviX. Protoform counts as X Antibody so you will get the Volee token. If you highroll, get Anubismon out, pitch Ignitemons/Mervamon then do a full combo from there to kill. Do keep in mind Psychemon will block Anubismon out so be mindful!

Lilith is a deck that needs it. Cant run it? Have to find another deck. Its the unfortunate outcome. People usually run 4. Im running 3 to cheap out and for the 1/100 chance BT9 X-Anti can tuck under a LV6 stack with BT03 LadyDevi Inherit to pop a floodgate and potentially free play a ST Gato from trash from LilithX slapped onto a Lilith. The one cost reduction on Protoform is too important. 3 minimum is a must.

Sadly it has to be. Lilith's "in-archetype" cards (if you want to call them that) suck major ass. EX06 Tsukai reads like a BT01 card. So underpowered. EX07 Tsukai only searches for specfically Lilith related cards. So its a worse GabuX that will bottom deck your X-Antis, all the Level 4,5s and some 6s. Worst searcher I have had the misfortune of reading in this card game and might be Digimon TCGs worst searcher for an archetype. Its so bad the deck never considered to run any ckpies Day 1 when the deck gor comoleted in EX07.
The Level 4s are salvagable (thats the Witchmon and BlackGato seen above). Bastemon is better in Dark Animal pile but is still playable if you want to? LadyDeviX on release booted Bastemon out power level wise DESU.
Ratios can definetly be cleaned up in that list I run for sure. Some people use Ginkakumon Promote for the revival into Rush. Some people play BT14 Ogremon. Lots of freedom in the 3s/4s.

For the only GOOD seasons, it is 1 and 3. Everything else is up to taste and masochism afterwards. My favorite is season 5 but I still think 1 and 3 are objectively superior and the best/only worthwhile to watch.

I like Savers quite a bit. Dunno about the others, they may not be of your liking.
Adventure 2020 in my opinion is kinda cool if you treat it like a weird addendum of the og series, not so good on its own.
Liberators is very good and it goes extra on the card game hype.
And the movies are a good choice too.

Original Adventure, Tamers, and Savers are all fun times. For the various manga, I would highly recommend V-Tamer, it's great; the Xros Wars manga is also pretty good. If you want to mess around with the virtual pets, any of the X series would be a good choice.

It was a build that got 1st at UK event toward the end of 2024 that popularized the 2 ST Gatomons being a mainstay in Lilithmon decks. Naturally some choices in this list are severely outdated by 2025 Digimon TCG standards. The Raid/Retailation Saberdramon promo for example is a card not worth running ATM. BT14 Ogremon in later lists got cut down to 1 or not played at all in future Lilith builds.

The Level 3 line in this deck is something I would pay attention to. These Level 3s and GabuX that is Blue/Purple that is Restricted to 1 and the BT19 Impmon (if you use Tamers such as ST Matt) are probably the best Level 3 picks. Since RKs and staples such as MedievalDukemon are popular right now Psychemon is more high impact this meta compared to Gazimon.
No clue why this gentleman ran 3 DoberX. 4 always. Lilith wasnt as refined as an archetype by then but this list set the road map to what the archetype should look like.

Sadly as you can see, you need Protoform. Deck is SUPER RELIANT on Protoform. 4 copies if you can, 3 if you want to save money. You subsitute the 4th with the BT9 base X-Antibody which is easy to get since locals are hosting Evolution Cups right now and its the entry promo.

if you don't know the absolute basics its kind of hard to help you beyond just explaining the rules and how they work.
after that the ideal would be someone explaining how to play your deck to you and how the cards work so you can get a general idea of the flow of the game and the back and forth of it.

after that you should be competently able to play the game, with a lot of room left to learn for things beyond the basics.


if you have a locals near you I would go on the day are running, ask if you can see some of the games, meet the people there, asks some questions, see if its a good number of players, and potentially try to organize someone to explain the game to you (for example like half an hr before the next locals or something).
online and using the sim is great to learn, but you will need to rely on resources (videos, guides, etc) to get initially started before you can start playing on the sim and figuring stuff out.

I learnt to play by buying 2 starter decks and playing against my self a few times, then I went to my locals and had a chat to a few people about the kind of decks I might be interested in, came back the next week, and started playing, have been playing ever since.

Oddly it feels like it doesn't really do enough as an ACE most of the time. It strips every source and unsuspends by bottom decking a digimon without a source, but that's 1-2 unsuspends most of the time when FM ACE already gets 1 unsuspend. Recycling your own trash is more often than not the better use because you can draw so much that decking out is a possibility with the deck and doing the same to your opponent only matters if they have recursion or a white level 7 in their trash to potentially steal turn. No protection aside from partition so it's almost free memory for a lot of decks. It's okay as a combat trap, but that's not really worth the slot. Still not going to drop the winner prerelease AA of paladin mode I won from release, but fuck it just doesn't feel like it does enough when compared to other level 7 ACEs for actually winning the game

the best use of pally ace in imperial is pretty much for return to the primogenitor protection on your fighter modes.
very rarely even your opponent goes super wide and you can strip an ace so you evo into it and blow out the game, or you promote a second stack and use HPD or primogenitor to get into it for cheaper and do the same.
slightly more often your opponent tries to deck you out and you just evo into it, or hard slam it just to reset your trash.

the protection and it blowing out certain decks in certain situations is pretty much the most value, outside of that its not very good.
magna x is one of the few decks it can be good in generically since it keeps the magna protection and can often be 20k+ DP and close out the game next turn.

the card felt a lot stronger when the game had a lot more lvl 5 aces in it, most aces are now just lvl 6's so you don't really get to strip and ace and steal turn, you just strip them down to their ace which is far less useful in a lot of cases.

You have pic related in hand, Exveemon (blue) and Stingmon (green) on the field. You take Exveemon's (blue) entire stack, put it on top of Stingmon's (green) entire stack, (because that's the order dictated on Paildramon) and put Paildramon on top of the stack.

You normally have to DNA Digivolve during Main timing just like regular Digivolving, but it's pretty common to effects that cheat that.

I managed to drop my preorder of BT22 boxes from 3 to 1, the store wouldn't let me cancel them all completely. The last 3 sets have me concerned about the future of the game. Hero sucked, DM sucks, and from the looks of things CS will suck.

My complaints don't really have anything to do with balance, it's that these traits are completely half baked and fuck with supporting prior archetypes. Barely any of the hero cards get use because they had to try and smoosh them all together for a new archetype that will never see support. None of the DM archetypes look good, they padded it out with extra kimeramon shit so instead of 5 nonfunctional archetypes we get 6, and now its leaking into future sets like we saw with the monzaemon shit in bt22.

CS in BT22 is probably the worst offender with half baked bullshit, they started with CS cards doing something similar to the galaxy engine and then seeming stopped.

I like what they did with Chronicle, Accel, Ghost, and Medusamon, for example. The whole deck is in the box. My only issue is with cards interacting with other archetypes generating degeneracy (Alphamon, Oryuken, and Valdr Arm)

I love the liberator archetypes, even the novel stuff, I just wish they had a little bit more support.

They're new decks, support is forthcoming for most of them. I'd be shocked if there was no Royal Base support in the CS set.
My main issue with the Liberator decks is variety. I'd love if they branched out from just the one digivolution line and featured other (or more new) digimon that fit the decks' themes.

Yeah I honestly feel duped by the Liberator starter decks having a wide variety of underused Digimon (Tobucatmon, Doggymon, Pandamon and Eaglemon got their first cards, and most of the other Digimon were getting their 2nd) only for the decks to become the Liberator line.
It's a little better with Arisa because Mirai has a whole other line but as a lifelong puppet Digimon fan I am bummed that there's not much reason to run any non Liberator puppets.

Fortunately my main Liberator deck is Aquatic and there were so many cards before Yao and even two related archetypes (DS and Seadramon X) that I get the flexibility I wanted for puppets with them.

What are some banned/restricted cards you don't understand the reason for being that way?
