This isn't even the first time this sort of shit has happened. I remember some dude's wife DMing Adventurer's League at the store and multiple times she had to tell other people to shut the fuck up because she couldn't hear what her own group was saying. How difficult is it to talk at a normal fucking volume? It's not a competition, and just because someone rolled a natural 1 doesn't mean you need to laugh raucously for like 30-straight seconds.

I was in my local and a group actually started playing music on a little portable speaker. Not like blaring but like very noticeable and you could see everyone in the store's head pivot straight at them when they did.
After like ten minutes and a couple song changes someone went up and said "hey what's the deal with the music?" and the guy doing it got excited because he thought he was interested in it or something and didn't realize at first that he was being told to knock it off. Just playing regular normal music out loud in the store on a shitty speaker for no reason.

There's some autist who sometimes shows to game who's just so insanely loud and prone to overreacting to the dumbest shit (such as his character being targeted by some weak enemy), I always end up with headaches if that faggot joins a game and I'm in close. But even my other group is at my friend's house and 2 of them are so fucking loud. It's fine to speak in a clear discernible voice. It's annoying to fucking shout. And these FLGS cocksuckers don't need to either. It's not a competition. The only consolation is that like most 5e shit groups they'll probably fall apart in 2 sessions so I don't have to see them anymore.

Our newest hire is a gangly 23-year old cosplayer who's very openly and loudly queer - and sounds all too proud when she points out that "everyone she knows is queer" - and has no ability to converse about anything other than books ("omg i just bought the whole witcher books series, and also I speak Quenya") and her D&D escapades including the hundreds of hours of audio recordings of every session with the same faefaggotry sparklegobbo character. Most of the staff is in their mid-30s to late-40s, so whenever we're talking about other hobbies or life choices, she's either sternly quiet and stares into the wall, or loudly attempting to steer the topic into her narrow arena of nerdcore narcissism. She always talks 60% louder than whoever else is participating in conversation, and always laughs/reacts like a goddamn anime character or youtube shill. She's a lanky goblin with an aggravating social skills deficit, but she had precisely the technical profile our department had looked for for a very long time.

tl;dr - it's not just when surrounded by their ilk that these people are decibel douchefucks

One time I started a TTRPG at a very quiet time for our LGS. It was great for 3 sessions and on the 4th time we arrived and there were 2 other RPG groups in the back and they were annoying/rowdy.

Not to sound schizo but I feel like the simulation or demiurg or whatever you want to call it spawns way more nuisance NPCs these days. I like to visit state parks and hike around to clear my head but it always feels like even if I go deep into the trees and down side-trails there's always some loud moron there.

It's too easy to pirate or share the books among multiple players, miniatures are optional and there's tons of manufacturers, the fanbase is violently resistant to attempts to monetize the OGL or incorporate subscription services, etc.

I think most instances similar to these are a result of autists who were never socialized growing up. I'm an autist and after many, many years of LARPing as normal, I can now do it convincingly and have gained a great deal of self-awareness in the process.
