The mangler squig, while being a bit smaller than the usual centrepieces being on 100+mm bases, is just undefeated in design and engineering.
While you definitely need a magnet solution, im still amazed nothings broken yet.
And i transport them almost every weekend and they are only connected by two less than pencil thick points.
I just wish the warscroll didnt suck so hard right now. Had a tourney this weekend and the big guy did a whole 5 damage over 3 games. And that includes his Impact damage.

In danwbringers khul was being active in aqshy again after spending khorne knows how much time battling in ghur to clear his mind, and vandus took the chance to hound him again and finally have vengeance.
the basic beats of the subplot are about how vandus got increasingly obsessive about fighting khul, to the point he almost completely abandoned the protection of a dawnbringer crusade to go hunt khul with his army instead, and to the point his friend ionus (the lord relictor from the starter box that's now a special character on dragon) is worried his humanity is eroding away fast; on the other hand khul finally realised that his obsession for vandus's skull was HIS obsession, not khorne's, khorne doesn't really care, khul's own attachment to the oath he made and thought important was what kept him from reaching demonhood, so by vacationing in ghur he got to appreciate again the little things in slaughter, fighting for fighting's sake and spilling blood regardless of whence it spills from, and now in aqshy he's finally on the brink of demonhood and finally on the same battlefield as vandus.

except khul ignores vandus and is instead fighting gavriel (another lord celestant, he's got his own mini but he's a nobody), and before vandus can do anything, khul finishes the duel (a close one actually, he was severely wounded) and kills gavriel, finally claiming the last worthy skull needed to ascend to demonhood (which didn't need to be vandus all along) and leave the battlefield, leaving vandus behind mindbroken at the sight, vandus would then be carried away by ionus to be put in one of the ruination chamber's hospices.


the moral of the story is to learn to do what you do out of passion, not to crunch numbers, and that the way to leave behind your mortal spoils and join the immortal demons is to leave behind all mortal concerns, including personal grudges, it just don't matter.

I have heard blades of khorne, especially demon focused armies, really rely on priests. Would 3 or 4 priests be excessive? I have a blood priest to get blood tithe points, two skull thrones, and I usually run a bloodthirster with that trait to make him a priest. I tend to run bloodletters, a small squad of crushers, a cannon or two, and some flesh hounds each game. This all depends on the size of the game though.

Running multiple blood thrones is probably not the best, because only one can use the resurrection ability each turn. I think two priests is probably going to be all you need. I love AoS and think it has tons of potential that GW has unfortunately squandered since its inception, which the inception is riddled with flaws that still affects the setting. Fantasy is a very rich setting that I like as well, but the reality is that it's had 30+ years of refinement with many of those having truly passionate authors writing it, largely unrestrained by hyper-corporate bindings. That quality difference definitely shows in the army books with various anecdotes and descriptions of what the armies are all fighting for/what they do besides fight, examples of their languages and writing, and how they interact with other factions in the setting. In AoS those aforementioned aspects are largely diluted and mostly implied, which to me is disappointing and further exacerbates the problem of people trying to "get" the setting. I do love the game and setting, but wish GW took writing for it as seriously as they did for WHFB/TOW. 40k is a whole other beast, though.

Never painted a rat before or played them before but skryre nuking (myself and the opponent) seems super fun. New rat ogors are also sick but I don’t like any of the other big moulder monsters. I like the skryre foot heroes too. I know Clanrats are almost always mandatory for chaff in any list but I will not enjoy painting them.

Can any anon tell me what a blasty skryre list would look like and what units it would need to supplement the ranged firepower? I don’t know how far to lean into each battle formation in terms of my units’ keywords. Like, how many clanrats or non skryre heroes does a typical skryre list take? I don’t know the first thing about rats but I know skaventide is probably the best chance anyone is gonna get at buying cheap rats.

Oh yeah and I would like to avoid storm fiends if possible, but I can stomach painting a few if needs be. The ratling warpblaster is sick, so are the warp artillery guns, globadiers and jezzails.

I know it's anecdotal but it's my experience too.
We have an LGS that has sales at extra discounts, there's always stuff that's superseded, e.g. previous editions when the new edition is out.
Occasionally new stuff, TOW stuff is constantly there. It's pretty rare to see AoS in there. AoS is always played there, barely ever see TOW being played.

From everything I have seen, besides spam posters here who never have any evidence, TOW is the one that's dying

How would you go about painting Spirit Hosts to resemble Ghostflame from Elden Ring?

I've been trying to figure out a good way to give them that greenish black core that leads into the pale white-blue fire but I'm kind of a brainlet when it comes to developing original paint schemes. Any advice?
