I'm working on an image build for this, but I have to convince myself to use or not use an arguable exploit I happened upon during the design:

Character is a mutant, and I took Fateful Friend+Chance for Greatness (nobility) to be able to have a place where I wouldn't particularly need to worry about the fact, since Nobility and Grandeur has the edict Legalize Mutants.

But that edict requires that the one who takes it BE a mutant, or have taken the choice Dark Past to have a mutant 'enforcer.'

And then I realize - arguably, the main character I'm designing could be DESIGNATED that enforcer. And if I do, the phrasing of the choice does not in fact limit the total 'shards' available for them; taking 'enforcer' says

>You get 20 Fate Shards that you may spend on [Skills] and [Knowledge] that your Enforcer possess[es].

and likewise Dark Past,

>Your Enforcer's past unlocks them the [Mutagenic Spectrum] and they gain 30 fate Shards that they may spend on Mutagen.

Which by a plain reading could simply add to my existing shard totals for spending if I designated myself this character's enforcer, giving me an extra 50 shards plus free mastery of skill fighting.

But it would certainly be termed an exploit. Should I take advantage of it for a build, or ignore it out of a spirit of fair play? (I was also considering splitting the difference, taking advantage of it for only half the shards it offers.)

I'm going to post this again, it's been getting a lot of discussion lately.

No, the point of clones is that (You) are not the one doing things. In my build that I posted last thread you may notice that I have fangs and Skinwalkers so they can take Actor and pretend to be real people. The most optimal plan for that world is to have other people perpetuate hate for you to keep the war turning. I really don't think it's that complicated especially if you have scholars doing the heavy lifting for you. The hate machine is already moving you just have to feed every once in awhile.

I also don't think the world uniting ageist you would be a hard failure point, depending on how long it takes them to figure you out; though the difficulty spike would be intense.

You get 1 clone per purchase of the ability, you need Unique Trait in addition to Fangs for Actor/Conceal and Disguise to actually turn into the people you want to impersonate. That is two out of six ability points for not-Clones, leaving four points for Clone (disregarding debt). With four clones you would be missing out on the useful Teleportation and Scrying. Speaking of Scrying, this also requires a good espionage network so you know when and how to nudge things into more war, something the Parasites are hard pressed to do (if at all). So (you) going out in person as the fifth agent is an important part of it. Or you get Scrying, reducing your clone count but allowing for some safe information gathering. Teleport would be nice as well for easy travel between hotspots. Contract Magic, Illusion Magic and Magic Eye all can be useful for the actual nudging part too.

You can absolutely do it, but to me the whole thing has too many moving parts, too many points of failure. And, to repeat the simile I used earlier, it only takes a single failure to get exposed in those 250 years.
Yes, getting exposed is not an instant loss, but two heroes(heroines) plus all the world's armies immediately gunning for you sounds more a question of "when" not "if" to me. The "ancient greece" tech level helps, but it does not say that they do NOT have water/earth mages for diving and digging or no teleportation.

Nobility options are mostly limited by Domain size and their Chivalry/Dread points. You can get enough to do whatever you really want with the 30 shard points from Chance for Greatness.

As for the Mutagen maxxing strat just pick a Dark Past Enforcer for them and give them Mutagen Thief, Alzur's Creation, and Monstrous Discovery and you still have 15 points for other Mutagens and the 40 free points for skills for them while they can essentially create the most OP mutagen combo that scales over time.

You can still have a Court Sorcerer and a Personal Witcher (charisma needed from the noble to keep him from killing the Mutant likely).

When making marriage requirements for the characters in the Magi Case I made them based around on what I thought the character would want from a general partner/some profile expectations. So I imagined someone like Asteris wanting a more mature man around her age or close to it.

It did limit dating and marriage options for Players, but it also helped to impact builds making people think about whether such options are worth it and if committing to it how would they build their persona within X age range.

Redux will be more user friendly as it features "True Love" as one of the many impact events. Minus characters that are already married, it pierces through all marriage requirements so you can marry anyone. It can also be combined with the Harem Contract for those wanting a more nonsensical adventure.

Mind: The category relating to how your brain works.
- Processing: Increasing speed increases the rate at which your brain processes things, 1 would be regular human speed, taking a while to do calculations and such, 10 would be almost superhuman capable of calculating large numbers of equations in an instant and potentially mapping out 1 on 1 battles in your head as the fight begins. A very high value in this can lead to ADHD each sentence coming out of another's mouth being digested subjective minutes before they move on
- Memory: How well your brain holds onto information and how much it can hold overall. At 1 you'll occasionally forget details and be unable to remember anything detailed but irrelevant past 1 day, at 10 you will have a perfect memory capable of storing the full events of an (100 year) human lifetime without any form of error 3 or 4 times over and can retrieve any moment from it trivially. Higher levels of this tend to lead to more reflective and passive personalities as you can ruminate over every regret effectively forever.
- Pattern Recognition: The ability to recognize patterns in large sets of data, at level one your completely average, capable of getting by in day to day life but unlikely to be solving any crimes or making great scientific discoveries. At level 10 you can see the patterns in everything around you and are capable of feats such as re-creating modern mathematics from first principles within your lifetime. High levels in this stat are associated with schizophrenia, the ability to see patterns anywhere rapidly morphing into seeing patterns where there are none.

- Sense: Separate from processing speed, this refers to how quickly your body receives and reacts to inputs from the outside, for example the speed at which your kneecap kick reflex activates would be dependent on your reactions. High reactions means that you can receive inputs faster, for example jerking out of the way of a gunshot by reflex after seeing someone's fingers tightening. At higher levels this could lead to over-reactions, recognizing the slight change in air pressure from someone dealing out cards as the same caused by your arch rival going for his gun and reacting accordingly.

- Luck: The ephemeral idea of luckiness, the amount that probability will bend around you to permit your path through this world. 10 in luck would mean a general division by 10 in your odds of failure in any situation (This operates in terms of ratios i.e. 1:1 representing a 50% chance would become a 10:1 representing a 1/11 chance of failure), even if you are not actively involved so long as it would effect you the ratio will be effected. Thematic trees for the minions would make sense, with each monster belonging to several specialties. It's not just the aquatic minions that are all scattered around, after all. The spellcasters are like that, too.

However . . . there's a limit to what one author, working on their own time, for free, can reasonably get done. And even if Anduin had been willing to work all of the possibilities out, that would likely make the cyoa very messy.

If you wanted to do some fan DLC ones, though, go for it. Some of the NPC demon lords very obviously have monster specialties/paths other than the ones listed in the cyoa, including monster girls and dinosaurs.

Minions and core guardians are severely lacking and too specific, undead need a tier 2 core line unit, like wights or ghouls. Nature could use t1 fairies and t2 satyrs, mermaids/merfolk could be a t2 fantasy, demon is also missing a tier 2 core line unit like a generic demon warrior, and arcane, the literal wizard line is missing a fucking spellcasting option including core guardians. There's lots more options for the options, kobolds, manticores, wyverns, etc for fantasy. Centaurs, hydras, cyclops, etc for mythology. It would be both prudent and easy to expand them, not that it will ever happen though.

I have a concept of a CYOA where you are guided on your journey by two npcs (waifus that love you) on the surface get along. But they secretly they have competing end goals that can only be achieved by using you. One such (waifu) character by the end of the CYOA wants you to side with her, where she will stab the other npc (waifu) to bleed to death and have you sacrifice all your prior choices from items to friends and home to come with her on a great mysterious journey involving the stars.
