>>95986063 (OP)I have no idea what this thread question is trying to ask. All conversions are canon.
>>95986063 (OP)>TQEvery ork looted vehicle conversion must be canon.
Also that tank is cute in the OP pic.
>>95986063 (OP)>>Thread Question:>What conversions do you believe should be canon if they are not or receive more attention?Aspect wraithlords definitely.
>>95986063 (OP)>Scylla Light TankI love tiny tanks

Is Graham McNeill a good writer? I wanna read the Ultramarines novels but I want to know if they're worth buying.
airborne guard best guard, perhaps? Second at least. tank guard is probably best guard.
>>95986089Nta
Yarrick has a better model is important, but let's compare the characters.
Yarrick is a commissar that's really good at fighting the orks on armageddon, he came back from retirement multiple times to fight against gazkull. He got his arm cut off, killed the ork that did it and then had that ork's power klaw grafted as a new arm.
Ursulla Creed is Creed but female, there was Creed, now there is his daughter.
GW clearly stated that she somehow EARNED the title of Lord Castellan. The first time you see her, taking the spot of an existing character, she's supposed to be that good.
You got a character with history and that actually did cool shit, and then you have the "female character taking exisitng male character's spot".
Normally I'd say the sex of a character is irrelevant, but here it's THE POINT that she's a girl.
It's such a bad character on every level, or rather, she's not a good character on any level.
>>95986063 (OP)>>Thread Question:>What conversions do you believe should be canon if they are not or receive more attention?Land Raider Prometheus. The quad heavy bolters are just metal as fuck!
>>95986186Thank you anon. I get it now, and I can't believe I didn't understand why before.
>>95986063 (OP)>TQDark Eldar Castigator Wraithguard from their old book lore
One unit on the table top essentially becomes John Wick and can solo the entire enemy army? Bonus points if the unit is small.
>>95986199It should have been Lord General Castor.
>>95986063 (OP)>Thread Question:>What conversions do you believe should be canon if they are not or receive more attention?I think all conversions should get more attention, but I have no idea why you'd need them to be canonized
>>95986210>new unitI am interested, QRD?
Bonus point for profile as pic
>>95986230Please post a better and not sideways pic of the rig, it looks fucking cool
What else are Templarchuds getting this week? I feel like there's going to be one more reveal.
Here's my proxy Helbrecht. He's magnetized to the larger base so I can also use him as a normal Marshal/Castellan.
>>95986235>but I have no idea why you'd need them to be canonizedBecause /mydudes/ are better than /yourdudes/ and therefore /mydudes/ deserve to be made canon by big daddy GW.
>>95986224That's what they did with gotrek in aos and it was really fluffy and cool at first, but over time became too good for beginners to deal with and too expensive for comp players to run.
>>95986238Dark Eldar don't really have a big tough melee unit like the Craftworlds do with Wraithguard/blades.
Spoilers for the end of the Path of the Dark Eldar trilogy but Vect has an army of Wraithguard converted to run on trapped and tormented souls like a pain engine rather than hosting a fallen hero.
>>95986263But if they get canonized then they aren't /yourdudes/ anymore and then someone else will start writing lore for them who has different ideas than you have for them.
>>95986288Pretty cool, I wonder what they'd look like, deldar wraiths...
>>95986299I'd imagine like that image. Like a wraith, with spikes
>>95986290But I get big bragging points that /mydudes/ were so good that big corporation made them canon to validate me.
My submission to vehicle of the month. Sororitas Rhino that converts into Castigator we have at home.
>>95986279The issue with Gotrek was that he was basically unkillable by any center piece monster in the game, but his weakness was that he is incredibly slow and can't get teleported or sped up by anything.
The guy gets a grand total of 20" of movement in a 5 turn game, not including running or charging.
He's still in AoS but got tuned down a bit, and costs appropriately less as well. Now he's just really strong instead of stupidly strong
>>95986063 (OP)>TQWraithknights/wraithlords with aspects weapons
Is Bela Core's shadow legion supposed to have its own color scheme? Does anyone give a fuck?
What IG regiment do you want see models for but you know it will never happen? For me it's the Savlar Chem-Dogs. I like that kit-bashes I've seen with GSC but that's just too much money for me to spend.
>>95986380They're just WB
>>95986380I have no clue what that even is.
>>95986380>Does anyone give a fuck?No.
>>95986383I'm torn, because while I want to see new models I don't trust GW to do them justice
But in an ideal world I'd say praetorians or firstborns
>>95986383Vostroyans in plastic
>>95986380You could use House Korvax's paint scheme and apply it to CSM. Not the most exciting to look at, but it should be simple to execute across any army.
>>95986261>What else are Templarchuds getting this week?Don't get your hopes up. You'll get a new combat patrol on top of the stuff that's already been shown.
Cool mini too, anon.
>>95986158>airborne guard>posts Imperial NavyHuh?
>>95986335Boy is that garish but in a kinda cool way. I don't hate using the heresy dg theme with the contrast cranked up for imperials
>>95986450Clean the landing zone prior to drop
>>95986383It'd be dope as fuck if they just released a huge line of customization sprues of various existing regiments and random stuff so people could make whatever regiment they wanted. But alas, that's too fun.
Eldar women are literally built for sex with Primarchs
>>95986186imo, Ursula Creed being a CREED does all the heavy lifting for her status. It's like how we voted for two Bushes just because people remembered the first Bush and was like "hey this guy is also a Bush maybe he's just like the first one". This doesn't mean that her lore is anywhere near good, it's just that people will see her last name and go "Oh like other creed she must be as good".
2v2 3k game, Orks+votann vs DA+custodes. Made things broken by combining detachments. Taktikal plus hearthband for xenos, stormlance+lions for imperium.
>>95986492Extremely close game, went back and forth a few times. It all came down to the final round where we barely killed enough units to deny them the kill more points.
>>95986288>Run on trapped and tormented soulsSo they're a Writheguard instead of a Wraithguard. I like that
>>95986526>writheguardkek
>>95986186It helps a lot that the model for Yarrick is much more iconic even if it's ugly. His iconic claw gives him a very unique silhouette that Ursula lacks. Look at the poses between the two, notice how more active Yarrick's pose is than Ursula's. A fighting leader is more inspiring than one standing around confused
>>95986168Apparently they canonised blanche's idea that the skeleton visible in all these artworks is just a facade and that the real emperor is only accessible via a secret passage by custodians.
>>95986288Why call them wraith-things if they're better described as pain engines?
>>95986555Don't forget he got multiple models over the years, complimenting his existing presence.
On a side but related note I find that newer (it's been more than a decade now) models from GW just suck personality wise.
They're often too subdued or just generic/empty; I don't care for the Nth action pose, the model should tell a story of "who is this guy"
The new space wolves are just meh for instance
>>95986601For example I do not hate this model.
But the fucker just feels like someone in twitter pointing out at the blood and say how cool of a reference that is!

>>95986630>>95986685wasn't there a huge controversy over that limited release model because stores got maybe 1 or 2 of them and that was it?
Decided to make a Space Wolf Leman Russ Exterminator for use in 3rd/4th edition games, still fairly early WIP but it's coming along nicely.

>>95986791the new hh book, the very last short story, so I'm told, unless you're talking about when/where blanche said that, I think it was a youtube interview shortly after his retirement, shouldn't be hard to find.

>>95986827I think yes. Maybe. No. Unless...?
>>95986653Obvious shit stirring attempt aside.
What makes someone a fake grog versus someone who just prefers older stuff?
We've already established that there is a collective of anons who lose their shit at the mention of the word firstborn like how there are those who get angry at seeing primaris marines. So is this visceral reaction in the same vein when people talk about preferring older stuff?

>>95986918Bottom and interior then glued shut
>>95986892Considering it was made with cardboard and it can open when it drops.
Something the newer pod can't do...
>>95986907I mean, the new one looks fine. Ease of building is probably the top priority they had when designing it. But like many model refreshes that GW has come out with in the past few years, it's just a worse version of an older kit with a few positives to its name. And most of the time the one positive is that it's scaled better.
>>95986734Isn't this the insane cheese unit people dreaded in 3rd. I remember reading about something with space wolf tanks being fucked up in earlier editions

>>95986837A fake grog would be someone pretending to be a grog, but who isn't, hence "fake"
There are no fake grogs, it's a way to deflect criticism, implying that anyone who likes old stuff is lying, nobody actually likes old stuff, the new stuff is always better.
It's also a way for the person to avoid being looked at:
>this person is a liar, don't look at me!
>>95986960>unpaintedyikes
>>95986960how is it an upgrade if the rules they have said so far mean the total footprint is where models disembark from?
it lost a weapon, which was shitty but still a weapon is better than no weapon, and the footprint is now smaller so your movement is shorter
unless the new rule sheet has an enormous buff for the carry capacity and point cost, it's just worse
All I remember about the old drop-pod kit is how easily it became useless if you slightly messed up the gluing of the individual pieces and how if you didn't use enough glue it'd tear itself apart
>>95986960>a clear upgradeThe only thing clear is those boxes letting us see you didn't even fucking paint them

>>95987034small footprints are actually bad for transports, unironically
since drop pods don't have assault ramps, you are not dropping them into the thick of it, so you ideally want to drop them away from combat and then advance them into the enemy
>>95986939>>95986980He probably bought them before the new ones got revealed
>>95986960>no timestampnot yours
>>95987046Sure, but you can't fucking fit the current drop pod anywhere, even before factoring in the 9 inch restriction for any enemy units
>>95986863>>95987004The reason why the doors aren't separate parts is because GW would then need to make another sprue for the kit. And more sprues a kit contains, bigger the box for it needs to be.
And bigger the box, less kits can fit on a palette which means less individual kits can fit inside a shipping container. Which means GW needs to get more shipping containers which cost money, which means less profit for GW.
This is just standard multi-billion dollar corporation jewery. Nothing more.

Among many other conversions. 5 of the primes become hyper adapted raveners. 15 of the leftover 18 ryans leapers will become raveners. 120hormagaunts/120 termagaunts

>>95987085Because I don't play drop pods and now I never will
But yeah, I guess for someone who impulse buys models he hates assembling it's okay to buy every single kit you might want in the future, that way I'd be allowed to praise the kit for being better by virtue of owning it.
You think owing the model gives value to your opinion because that's all you have, spending money to pretend you matter.
Maybe if you were less mad on the internet you'd take a second to step back and realize why you're just advocating for both worse models in a hobby and for predatory anti-consumer practices, just so you can feel better about owning 3 models you didn't even bother to paint.
>>95987121a lot of words to say you're seething over being dismissed as the nomodels you are
>>95987002Nta but that's the best place for mouldlines because they're easily accessible and also easy to see so you don't miss them. I'd rather have a mouldline on the center of a panel than around the edge where it's easier to gouge

>>95987118Spider nids are coming along but no new pics, nothing to truly update on. I'm at 14 of the 30 genestealers which I've decided to use superglue+plain bath tissue to get their webbing harness down so I'll update once I finish all 30 in assembly and start on the web part.

>>95987152It's about as bad as a second run on a starter box it's not too rough honestly. Seems like a chunky enough mould that it'll take a while to start slipping too. >>95988739Anon, there are people who have never known anything but "Points as Power Level", who have never seen an armory page or a force org chart, who do not know what a pinning test is, who do not know that mortal wounds are just Rending again and caused the exact same problems, who have never known the game without Admech or Custards or Primarus or Tau. It's just how it is now.
Elites got real grab bag by the end too, they shoved scouts and anyone with a flag in there.
>>95988787The index balance was all over the place. You had shit like full tilt boogie Oath of Moment released alongside Votann and Dark Eldar and Admech and Tau.
I am still mad about Crisis Suits. Somebody is married to power level and old crisis were a unit that doesn't do one size fits all. It's like they were designed for a different points system and were awkwardly hammered into this one.

Update from yesterday. I think I took the picture too closely, but I'm liking how the silver looks with the armor.
>>95989054I really like what you did. I do have to say, those models have aged a bit.
>>95989059Thanks, anon.
I agree, the Warp Talons age is starting to show, especially when I compare them to the Chosen or Legionaries.
I really like them as a unit though so I'm okay with it.
I think they are really fun. They can be played in both simple and complex styles and are very strong right now. They filter people by being really hard to model though, and most of their squads don't have dedicated boxes but are instead made up of several boxes so they are very expensive.
I got into them in 10th edition when they just had the index. I really love the Corvus Blackstar even though its bad because the idea of black clad special ops marines rappelling down from the 40k equivalent of a Harrier jet really tickled my brain in the right ways. The special ammunition strats are very straightforward and really sell the "we have the right tool and the right gun for every job" aesthetic that they have. These are the guys with the full armory unlocked who can take the most ridiculous relic and xenos weapons from all over the galaxy. I painted mine to all come from chapters I like, I have Raptors, Dark Krakens, Salamanders, Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Dark Angels and Blood Ravens all in my army (its barely 1000 points).
If you are thinking of getting into them my QRD of how the army plays is
>amazing special units called Kill Teams that are mixed profile primaris squads but with better guns, including S5 bolters!
>deathwatch veterans are the best firstborn manlet unit left in the game outside of gray knights, S10 Thunderhammers go bonk. kit is fantastic.
>straightforward ammo strats let you maximize you shooting on all your units
>best teleportation strat in the game, so best in class mobility
>the Corvus Blackstar can be put in hover mode and used to deliver a unit pretty much anywhere in the battlefield (unfortunately cant charge because no assault ramp GW please fucking give this thing assault ramp. you can call it Aerial Assault and make it once per game or something)
>>95989106Thanks for the write up anon, really good shit to know and seem like a fun option for a side army
>>95988950I started in the ass end of third, Tau were my first army. I'm used to them carrying the expansion pack faction label, if that's finally changing then thank fuck. I probably should have said Votann as the example instead, but I forgot about them.

Working on a Gorkanaut. Having fun :)
>>95987505Oblits aren't that kind of tanky. They're tanky in the "you have to point something real to kill these" but oblits are pretty important targets to pick off, they're quite expensive and if you point a real gun at them they will explode just like anything else. 5 T7 wounds just aren't that difficult to break through.

Hypothetical army I want to run. Because I believe in the concept of a young chapter having minimal equipment choices and having "The Holy Bolter" being their ideal weapon.
Intercessors, Heavy Intercessors, Devastators with Heavy Bolters, maybe some Sniper Scouts and Suppressors.
Using Anvil Siege Force
>Ranged weapons equipped by ADEPTUS ASTARTES models from your army have the [HEAVY] ability. If such a weapon already has this ability, each time an attack is made with that weapon, if the attacking modelโs unit Remained Stationary this turn, add 1 to the Wound roll.
I don't know if its competitive or able to stand on its own. HB+Autocannon could lend me options like Destructors, and the like. But as it stands, I like the current theme.
Should I do it? I want to meme bolters.
>>95990344Forgot to ask, which founding legion was more bolter based?
