Right now you need a fucking 1 mana instant speed removal spell to survive in standard. You can lose the game on turn 2 if you're on the draw without a burst lightning / torch / cut down / stab. Green could have a doom blade and it would be too slow

If you've got a FOMO on the field and 3 in the grave and Delirium is burning bright, swing with your one (and pray they kill it by any means), next combat Ardyn grabs another FOMO, it swings cause it has haste, next combat Ardyn grabs another FOMO, etc. until you're out of FOMOs. I've been brainstorming uses in standard for the bug that turns things into 3/3s, and there aren't really any uses for it outside making 1/1 tokens into 3/3s or turning your opponent's big creatures into 3/3s. Most things that care about power are either already big, can target stuff that's already big, or could easily be replaced with a pump spell. The only thing that stands out is that it works with passive buffs and counters, meaning you can pair it with tribal bonuses and it can make creatures that enter as base 0/0s (hydra-esque cards) way bigger.

Quick test of Biotech Specialist in Jund Sacrifice suggests that Mayhem Devil being one mana cheaper, double damage to people and and ALSO generating Deadly Dispute sac fodder on ETB pushes the deck even further into cancertown than it previously was. It only having 1 power is sometimes relevant but rarely matters when you can just machine gun people to death.

I don't think it's a puzzle at all, mayhem > biotech in the mirror easy. Unless you have enough to sac and immediately end the game, biotech is going to get off 6 damage max before dying for free. Plus another big issue is that it only triggers on artifacts, so it actually does the same amount of damage mayhem does on a cat oven loop. Maybe there's a new version of the deck built more around artifacts, idk.

While lil'bit more costly in life and mana in a long run compared to crawler it's just more flexible since you dont need zombies and more aggressive with haste and 2cmc even works with phoniex pretty well.
