Yeah my model's off ebay he was missing some bits, and needing some filling. I haven't played with greenstuff in 10 years but it went pretty well, yourself's looking good!
Base is paintedDryad Bark, then a wash of Agrax Earthshade.
Drybrush Gorthor Brown, followed by drybrushing Knight-Questor Flesh.
The body is drybrushing Doombull Brown, followed by drybrushing Tuskgor Fur.
The hair is drybrushing Jokaero Orange.
Base is just Hobgrot Hide, which I'll wash with Earthshade then drybrush underhive ash.

Painting some WoC, making a 32 man unit in batched sub assemblies which is surprisingly fun. My ambition is to build a Storm of Chaos style army with representatives of all the chaos god as well as Beastmen and Daemons and perhaps Chorfs if they every get made. Also got some classic sculpts that I'm looking forward to painting. (Metal knights, Crom, Kordel Shorgaar).

>>96044988WHFB rules were always garbage. everybody in a nostalgia fog seems to forget that. they were easy to hack and had lots of fun supplements, but the basic rules were just a linear expansion on RPG combat that minimized player decisions and dragged out game length with excessive rolling and tedious rules referencing. in that sense, TOW is very much in the spirit of warhammer.
GW only ever made 3 good fantasy battle rulesets, and none of them say "warhammer" on the cover.

I'm working on my Bretonnians from Lyonesse, out on crusade. After that I will do more Bretonnians. After that I've got an old Be'lakor I'll do for fun.
Picrel is the Prophetess ("princess") that my 4yo daughter has told me the colours for that I'm working on atm. I'll name her after her when she's done
There's an ongoing Kickstarter for siocast miniatures based on classic Ian miller drawings. Looks extremely tempting to chip in.
>>96044760Ludwig Schwarzhelm and the older girl is Katarina Todbringer. You can see she's wearing an ulrican brooch and a necklace with the Todbringer arms on it. She also matches her portrait from The Power Behind the Throne.
Her appearance in this picture is a bit weird. In the context of Empire in Ruins it makes sense for her to be in Altdorf, but not with KF looking relatively healthy, nor with Luitpold in the picture.
It's definitely her though.
>>96045520it's still kinda crazy to me that WHFB (and AOS) designers just refused to learn any lessons from MESBG. like early days, I get it, warhammer is your cash cow, you don't wanna risk shit so just play it safe. use the new side game to test all the wild ideas your guys have for a better 28mm fantasy battle game.
but then the crazy fuckers actually do it. they make a core game that beats the shit out of warhammer in every imaginable catagory. and it's a solid foundation to build on, easily expandable. porting that system and slotting the warhammer fantasy armies in to it next edition would be totally achievable, and you'd have a game that's way better than anything the trajectory whfb is currently on could hope to achieve.
but instead of that, you say, nah, fuck it, let's double down on all the stupid shit that makes fantasy a pain in the ass to play, fix nothing, and while we're at it jam in a bunch of new rules that force everybody to buy more of the same models and change the footprints of all their trays. that will free up resources to update some armies way too many times and ignore other armies for multiple consecutive editions.
>>96045657intersting
Did Miller do any concept design for GW miniatures back in the day?
I always thought he was a cover and interior artist for GW., he was never really on the miniatures side of the company, at least looking at released products.
>>96045550>Advocating for 40k 10th at any points limitYoure scum tier for 40k for shilling one of the worst editions there is, even more so for bringing it up here.
>>96045675Yeah MESBG has good core mechanics, I think there was a Warhammer version of it as well, but from my experience brand loyalists are very very reluctant to try something new outside of the plantation. But I'm a bit skeptical if all the wacky Warhammer units would translate well to MESBG, which has lower power levels in general.
>>96045616Only empire fags that can't live without Karl
>>96045677>concept designnot to my knowledge, as far as I know gw's go to guys were blanche, jes, gallagher and gibbons, if the sculptor wasn't given free reign on what to do at least
>>96045677I don't think miller was ever in GW, he was just hired as an artist to do various work. he was already a "name" from doing tolkien shit in the 70s.
>>96045158>>96045217Update on my dudes. More or less happy with them minus a tiny bit more tidying up, then it's onto the highlights. The cloak I do last as that's where I hold them when painting and I tend to rub the paint off.
>>96045728if you can break brand loyalty, you've got a choice of 10,000 better rulesets than whfb. that goes without saying.
I just dont get why GW themselves was so opposed to repeating their own success. they spent two fucking editions before ET bitching about how fantasy was bleeding players to other games, the answer to all their woes was literally right there in arm's reach. being worked on by some of the same fucking people.

>>96046402whats stopping you? often times its tons of little friction which can be remedied with some preparation. for instance, have a designated painting area with everything set up already, schedule your assembly, priming and painting time, get a decent airbrush for priming if you live in an area with non facilitating climate
>>96044988>making GW richthat's 40k, and msbg only during the theatrical run
What is the best way to kitbash the classic bighats on chaos dwarfs? I have come across some legion of azgorh (FW) models and want to make them into an updated version of the classic look
>>96045764>the answer to all their woesI thought one of their most significant woes with WFB was all the old players had already bought their armies and so didn't buy models regularly enough. Rule changes were an attempt to sell more models by making armies larger or introduce new models that you needed to buy to win.
>>96046643could use the forge world hat for inspiration
>>96046643There used to be some third party hat heads. I think I had some at one point in a bits box, but ended up selling them.
>>96046674Their woes were due to assuming that their already existing customer base was all the were going to get. If you make the game more friendly to new players by not requiring them to buy 10 boxes of infantry in order to have a good army, you get more people to by into the game.
>>96046075Because horus heresy is more or less symmetrical with just dudes with roughly the same physical abilities, weapons, and armour fighting dudes just like them where as whfb and TOW are about forces who are different on a fundamental level fighting eachother
>>96044667I always want to buy 4 razorgors but even the proxies are so ugly, godspeed anon the red looks good.

>TQJust finishing my bases for wood elves. First unit I've finished since I got back to TOW (had painted 1kish points of beastmen prior) while my guys will never win awards I think they look ok, just need to finish basing and then paint the 20mm>25mm movement tray I ordered. Will probbaly paint 2 to 6 more like this to have 2 units of 8 or 16. Content with the effort to result ratio so far, but not 100% on my base choice- colors are fine but mix of leaves, flowers, flock etc not dialed in. I'll get there. For 500 points, which hero is better for WoC?
All would be Aspiring Champions
Build 1: Foot Champion
Great Weapon, Meteoric Iron, Favoured of the Gods
Build 2: Horse
Chaos Steed, Lance, Shield
Build 3: Daemonic Mount
Daemonic Mount, Lance, Favoured of the Gods
Foot Champion is a lot cheaper and would be leading 8 Chaos Warriors with a unit champ.
The other two would be leading 4 Chaos Knights. Which would be best? Leaning to the foot lord.
>>96048487Doing some escalation league thing at your LGS?
I'd say start on foot to save points. When things escalate and the games get bigger, move him to horse.
When things get really big, promote him and move him to monster.
>>96048506Its a straight 500 point event. Play 4 games for the day so sadly no escalation. If this was, I'd 100 dive for Daemonic Mount.
In this case foot lord is the cheapest and can get champion upgrades for all 3 of my units, which are very small.
>>96048487Fwiw I find my meek elf hippie Heros do best mounted but that's becsusest 500 to 1k points I don't really have the blobs of infantry to help his buffs be worthwhile, while the stag let's me really crush the smaller units the wild riders charge
Why exactly does Slaanesh get a claim to elven souls in fantasy? Like sure, there was the Cult of Pleasure, but no real big event that ties them to She Who Thirsts otherwise.
>>96048586They're just that much tastier
>>96048572That's understandable, as moat elf heroes I assume got buffs which only count for critical mass.
In this case, I have tried 4 chaos knights with and without the hero. Either way, they get shit done, just roll over everything, even more with the hero.
Inversely, the chaos warriors, who I am fielding as 8, range from OK to meh. With the hero, they become a viable threat on the field while the knights run rough shod across the battlefield.
Its more of a case if I want my knights to get even stronger or turn my Warriors into a more viable unit on the field.
>>96048586All elves feel emotions to a much greater extent than humans so they are more vulnerable to excess that Slaanesh likes
>>96048661Sure, they're vulnerable. By why does he get an automatic claim on consuming their souls upon death? No other god gets to do that with another race.
>>96048645Yeah fair enough 1W 4+ just ain't enough and as I learned last game vs slaanesh a lucky charge and shoot rapes 5 to 10 man squads effectiveness. Plus it's more points for killing elsewhere.
It's probbaly cause my eternal guard are anything but eternal so I generally spend points elsewhere at 1k and under, using then as a anvil. Foe a hero to add value I have to take eternal kindred and BoM netling and that's 50pts right there so I find it's too many eggs in one very flimsy basket.
Good hunting either way anon!
>>96048216>>96048240The duality of Slaanesh.
>>96048586Because nu-GW is retarded and decided everything must be as similar to 40k as possible
>>96048645Don't post botslop, make a bad photshop, or a basic mspaint doodle, if you need an image.
>>96048706That's been standing lore for a long ass time.
>>96048686Oh I was just proposing a discussion point. If I add to the Knights, it means they are even more assured to tear into infantry. I haven't used them in the new double rank infantry, so the hero might be enough to make it still devastating.
Foot Lord will bolster the Warriors to be an asset. Kind of putting it together and hurting my OCD. Sounds of it you'd go horsey?
>>96048714I dragged it from a discord, my bad.
>>96048645why does ai slop all have this brown piss filter now
>>96048751No clue. Ask google or the other multi bajillion dollar companies.
>>96048745Yeah, you are probably right- my wild riders or so squishy vs the 2 ranks of infantry I usually lose 2-3 and they only FBIGO then I get smacked next turn, so I needed the stag to inflict damage or challenge stuff. Whereas your Chaos warriors are probably often shot or charged first, and your knights tough, so makes sense to bolster infantry for your army.
>>96048740you're gonna have to back that up with a citation. I'm calling bullshit.
>>96048780Thanks head. Appreciate the advice. Poor Elves, must be brutal to set up those giant cav minis only to get sniped. Hurts a lot too when I lose my knights.
>>96046674>>96046713which was completely wrong. 7th tried that with wider ranks and gave a lot of players the nudge that started the mass exodus to either MESBG or in to things like Confrontation or Warmachine. and then 8th killed the game by doubling down with hordes, simultaneously driving away anybody who was still on the fence and guaranteeing nobody new would be able to buy in.
maybe you forget, but GW had a tremendous amount of goodwill and momentum going in the later half of 6th. lots of local whfb groups were huge and continuously growing. if they'd kept improving the game that could have continued for a long time. instead they threw it all away in the space of really just a couple years of nonstop bad decisions.
>>96048830You call them bad decisions, I call them savvy business moves to maximize shareholder value.
And in the end, they're who really matter.
>>96048791Yeah but thats the game, god knows the wild rider and stagshero put out far more S5 attacks any limp wristed pointy ear should- so I get why they are often on the kill list. Good luck on your league btw
>>96048830This was why I dropped out, I couldn't afford to keep collecting bret and dark elves and only played thanks to beastmen being so ass someone gave me a massive discount before leaving. By 8th every game was mass infantry and guns/wizards and it was so expensive my local groups went to WMH/Malifaux because it was like 100 bucks for a full sized army, if not less, with relative for the time innovative gameplay. Like people from 3-5th editions will tell you, during 6th the escalation and push for new models and larger sizes became exhausting
>>96048905>during 6thmeant starting in 6th, aka how every edition last edition models were bad, and the bad ones suddenly good, plus generally larger unit sizes needed started there even if 6th itself wasn't too bad
Is an Outcast Wizard better off alone or in a block of Men at Arms? I kinda like the juxtaposition of having one unit with a Grail Monk and one unit with my wizzie, even if there's a good chance he'll nuke the unit.
>>96048905The thing about 8th is, yeah it was a horde game but it was still so tied down in rpg minutia that it felt even more schizophrenic. There's historical games with far more models per unit that play much better, so it's not so much that the number of figures required is the issue so much as the price GW was asking for, and how people were expected to actually use them.
Because buying four boxes, which was what $140, for one unit of core that just died in one hit to a nuke spell was not fun. But if you didn't good luck outgrinding an enemy block of infantry that wouldn't break.
>>96044634 (OP)Does Bretonnia get cucked so hard that even its main gimmick of having the best knights is stolen by Vampire Counts (Blood Knights), Chaos (Chaos Knights), and the Empire's demigryph riders and Knights of the Inner Circle? What else do they get?The best peasant levies? The ability to field the most generic knights?
>>96049103>gimmick of having the best knightsLOL cope harder. KOTR are easily the best "standard" cav, Grail Knights rape every other "elite" cav unit, and Questing Knights tear through monster/fear cuck units. The only legitimate criticism against Bret knights is that the models are kind of underwhelming for how powerful they are.
Also, yes, Bret infantry is some of the best in the game right now, particularly Bret Exiles.
>>96049103He says this as Bretonnia is one of the most broken armies of TOW.
>>96049103Pre TOW yes, now they are the premier non monsterous cav

So today had a nice 1k game of my wood elves vs my buddies stitched together "cult of slaanesh" list it was
>20 or so those 2 attack cultists (that we agreed were way undercosted), 3 fiends, 5 seekers, 2 bolt throwers, a level2 herald, and 10 repeater xbow
Vs
> 2x8 squads of poison glade guard, 14 eternal guard, 5 wardancer w/2hw, 5 wildriders, then a staghero a lvl1 mage abandoned wardancer hero
What I learned was:
>Eternal guard are so shit for their points, 14 pts for a 5+ and 1 st3 ap-1 attack just doesn't cut it everytime I've bought them they get slaughtered
>new frenzy changes suck balls on overrun/pursuit, it fucked me hard vs the fiends after hitting them from a fleeing xbow unit
>magic missles kill glade guard. Even at 750/1k pts I think I need to start investing in the oaken staff
>glade guard poison still kills warmachines funnily enough
>wardancers continue to print money vs T3, and bounce off T4.
I lost as I had no good answer to the demonology bric of anointed cultists but at least had some good charges and 6 glade guard shot a repeater off so that was fun, but yeah at least on these smaller scale games I just think I have to accept I'm all hammer and no anvil and stick to msu.
The men at arms kit is really charming, makes for great zombie fuel.
>Running campaign about PCs hunting for Ghal Maraz in Black Fire Pass, but it's not the Enemy Within book about that.
I'm settled on the main antagonists being Greenskins, Chaos Dwarves and a Dragon, but there should be a Blood Dragon that serves as a rival/mentor as they hunt for the same Dragon that's causing all the problems.

Already revamped my list adding oaken stave, the 5+++ armor for staggy, and 5 glade riders with shoot n scoot plus poison shots. Leaves roughly 25pts for a banner somewhere prob wild riders for the +1 combat banner. If wood elves are going to be annoying or bust might as well lean into it.

>>96051479Not to mention how fucking scary a centuries-old swordmaster vampire would be in a small skirmish setting with no backup coming. Mordheim does an excellent job of this, if you come across an undead warband, the vampire is a terrifying murder machine.
Now that I mention it, I think the Barony of the Damned 2e supplement had a vampire nobleman encounter that kind of fills this role. I know I just shilled it to the other anon, but it's really quite good inspiration for all things undead.
>>96050998I had some stupid ideas for a Hunt for Ghal Maraz campaign.
The Thousand Thrones says that Sigmar witnessed the Tree of Hope on his journey from the world. Nagash is also said to have encountered the Tree of Hope on his travels and had some kind of revelation there.
The Tree of Hope is withered and almost dead. It's said to stand at the edge of the world, beyond Morr's realm, and hold the secrets of life within its branches.
Retarded idea: The Tree of Hope is the last remaining sprig of a second Oak of Ages, created by the Old Ones to nurture the nascent Imperial tribes in what would become the Dark Lands. When the Age of Woes happened, it got buried in volcanic ash and the tribes fled west to the Empire. When Sigmar left the Empire he was travelling east to find it in the ancestral Unberogen lands.
The campaign starts with Azhag the Slaughterer's Waaagh, which is complicated by vampires turning up to steal the Crown of Sorcery. Shenanigans ensue that involve revelations and research into the ties between Nagash and Sigmar. Info about Ghal Maraz and the Tree of Hope is discovered, the PCs set off east into the Dark Lands with Nagash cultists/vampires/Sigmarite zealots/greenskins in pursuit. Something something Vampire Prophecies, something something Ghal Maraz, something something Cradle of Life.
I'm thinking of doing wood elves but I need to know how viable the forest spirit units are

>>96051238God(Ariel?) willing it will keep the bad touch fireballs away from me then
>>96051608Generally treekin and treeman are fantastic and treekin especially are the closest thing we have to an avil I think. I'm no wood expert but almost every batrep I've watched for wood elves has 1 to 2 units of them. Dyrads aren't bad either but the forest spirit rule really limits them as only branchwraiths or makes can join them. Host of Talysn also has some boosts to treestuff.
That said flaming still hurts, dragons and flying monsters can just move around you, and dyrads will crumple vs proper melee stuff. I'd say running tree heavy is fine but you need to have a plan, which is true for all wood elf stuff this edition I think. Then again I'm 2-7 so what do I know other than staglord is chadlord.

>>96051544Nah this owns. A race against other factions to grab some mythical artifact or treasure is classic storytelling.
>>96049921I remember that, for some reasons, the main online communities of the time (warseer, dakkadakka, the other one I can't ever seem to remember) were REALLY against anything that GW put out for fantasy that wasn't an army book.
I remember endless discussions and threads about how Blood in the badlands was just a money grab that should have been a series of articles on white dwarf, how Sigmar's blood wasn't worth the paper it was printed on because it only focused on two armies, storm of magic? Straight to the recycling bin, those mini campaign/scenarios that were released only digitally and only on Apple software? Fuck you GW where's my plastic tree man?
Thamurkan also had the hurdle of being focused on finecast and limited in scope.
Looking back at it now, it's weird seeing all the toxic aggresivity that came out against things that were just an attempt at revitalizing fantasy.
I acquired a bunch of those campaign and expansions recently and I really like them. BitB is a nice product, and i actually rather like the limited scope of Sigmar's blood despite having neither empire nor undead.

>>96054964Yes and no. The Arcane journal does open up a few playstyles (all cav aggro, defensive with trees) and when built right and played right you can win games through constant movement and trading. Treekin, glade riders, deepwoodscouts/glade guard and our lords are all very solid. Unfortunately most our items are meh to shit (barring a few like regen armor, helm, and oaken staff) a ton of our units suck ass, our magic is kind of bad offensively, and we have been paying for the sins of other factions all edition long. Dragon nerfs, poison nerfs, light cav nerfs, and a few others have punished a mid tier army. Then our army has so many restrictions often (need kindred to join some stuff for example which locks out options, MUST buy a waystalker for waywatchers, etc.) All while there continues to be a meta of fast flying stuff or big tough blocks of infantry both which we struggle into. Basically it's not terrible but many other factions are eating much better. You can still wood elf just know there are limits.

>>96055477Is this one not available? I'm sure that once you remove the shield, change the head and swap the weapon you can end up with one close to the concept and somewhat novel looking
>>96055804Cothqie Elves really like the sea and water sports so the gym is mostly about them
>>96055477I like the chainmail and over all design of the regular warboss more, but I think the new blorc boss would probably be easier to work with, since you could have an easier time adding and removing hands, weapons, extra bits of armour, ect...
I personally think both look good, and have their own positives, though I am a bit of a sucker for older FW sculpts.
>mfw I see all the Heresy 3.0 changes.
I hope TOW doesn't get a new edition for a long time.
>>96056468We will know in 18 months
>>96056468Its a lot of changes, but it is getting more complex which is a breathe of relief from modern GW's "simplified, not simple" garbage. The TOW 1.5 update was also pretty good so I have faith.
>>96055795>>96055441The headdress was for TK, so we might just see TK next week. We do know from an extremely credible leaker and the website bug (not the store one, Dogs of War have been a category since the Orcs added the giant) that Southern Realms is coming with old DoW minis.
>>96056567>The headdress was for TKWhy not Necrons for 40k/Kill Team?
>>96055835Is there anything interesting on Tiranoc? They've always struck me as kind of vanilla.
>>96056596>Why not Necrons for 40k/Kill Team? Not impossible, but we know there is going to be Old World stuff at the preview show. Other hats are definitely 40k themed or have strong 40k potential whereas the Pharoah hat is so extremely TK-y. Necrons are somewhat Egypt-y but I dont think they have that kind of hat, they're more scarab-y.
>>96056567>The headdress was for TKWe already have a necron vs deathwatch rumor, I wouldn't hold my breath for kangs.
>>96056632No, not even in the section of the book about Chariots, the thing Tironoc is known for.
The players' guide had a small section on them, but nothing brand new.
The GM Guide is focused on Cothique as a location where a lot of intrigue and politicking is happening and has a non-high elves population, which is non-existent outside of Lothern
>>96049905I'm pretty sure Henry V fought on foot, dude
>>96056567>Southern Realmsthat's not their name
>>96056693And we already have a borderlands campaign and TK content rumored. I trust the OW leaker though, he's almost as accurate as Whitefang at this point.
>>96056705It's what's listed in the core rulebook and what the leaker said they're going to be renamed. More of a Tilea/Estalia focus on less full soup of mercs mode.
>>96056654good luck finding a necron hat in a random pile of non-warhammer related hats.
next you'll tell me they couldn't possibly use a traffic cone for custodes.
>>96055494>>96055877>>96055592>>96055877Thanks /tg/. Think I will go for the left guy. Looks more bulky and chunky and I think his sub blades on his back would be adequate.
>>96055818Afraid not. He isn't my full cup mainly cause buying a kit is a monthly investment.
>>96056732You don't need a necron hat, anything vaguely robot-like would have sufficed. Tomb KANGZ own the Pharoah look now
>>96056731>It's what's listed in the core rulebook and what the leaker said they're going to be renamed. nothing of that is true
>>96056731The core rulebook calls it the Southern Kingdoms rather than realms
>>96056752could be Thousand Sons for HH/LI, that's another Egypt-inspired faction.
>>96056703I know Henry did and it wasn't unheard of. But my autism started with
>playing old warhammer game from 90s>want to make collection of the mercs>realise leader is on horse>suddenly realise 99% of leaders are on horse in Warhammer>realise same for history>hurts my autism in liking foot leadersThat's my tism story
>>96056782Very unlikely considering they just got their stuff.
>>96056766>>96056763Still not Dogs of War, and yes, the Dogs of War filter has been on the website since last year.
pretty smart move if they pull this off
literally everyone gets something new and is inclined to buy the full range to play them as their own army too
>>96056632>>96056699Bummer to hear. The little lore they have for Trianoc is so interesting. Arrogant and bitter (almost as much as the Nagarythe) they still chariot and it's why they lack silver helms, while they were known to be major contributors to colonies (mostly new world iirc). They also have very solid levies and often serve at the gates.
There's fertile ground (ironic for them since their fertile land is underwater) of a land full of sunken cities, beautiful lands, dangerous coasts, trade connections, and families still clinging on. I'd imagine if the new world ever got a glow up we'd see more.
>who am I kidding they'd just wank caeldor and nagarrythe more.
Dogs of War have been on the website since at LEAST May of 2024. Probably earlier. It's just what the Giants and Ogres get classified under.
>>96056840I donโt know what part of the world you are in but not here in NA.
>>96056881I am in NA. It's annoying but you gotta go to Shop All, then choose filters, then choose Armies of the Old World and it'll pop up.

>>96055682How big is the left guy to a regular orc boy?
I also thought of this guy from the big un set but I think he may be too small.
>>96056937forgot to mention that you are safe if you were planning on basing them to new old world bases
>>96056766It also calls the dwarf section the ancestor gods and the wood elves section the enchanted woods, that's not the name of the faction.
>>96056812except noone will buy the extremely overpriced metals, people will simply proxy all the units, so it might shake the meta, it might move the arcane journals, but the dogs of war units themselves won't fly off the virtual shelves.
>>96057094Ya no bother, that was the plan. Plus they come with TOW bases to begin with.
>>96055228For a city focused around the sea, I was expecting more docks and rivers and canals and shit.
>>96057141It's all underground A lot of Tor Koruali is built into the bedrock of Cothique, so that's where all the industry docks and warehouses for the city are
>>96056795You're being retarded. Foot generals were common in 6th. I only use foot generals because it's kino, I don't care if it's less optimal.
>>96057235Honestly with the new changes to challenges against dragon lords, if you have a unit champion its actually VERY safe to be in the brick now, so its a viable strat.
>>96056840Iโd say that just confirms it was in the books long term to happen. Like how Cathay and Kislev had design documents drawn up since TOWโs launch, but they only just released Cathay over a year later. Iโm willing to hope until Iโm proven wrong lmao.
>>96056840I fucking knew I wasn't going crazy
>>96057139They've redone some old metal kits in resin right, like the war wagon ? Because metal prices are absolutely brutal, especially compared to the rest of tow which is relatively forgiving for a gw game
>>96057432Yeah calling Mercs from the start Dogs of War was intentional for sure. Just wanted to point out the website thing isn't a leak (unlike the Map leak which was 100% unintended).
>>96057434We were getting gaslit bro
>>96057284What changes?
I've been out of the loop since last summer.
>>96057508Dragons or their lords (whoever has lower initiative) no longer get to overkill onto unit champs/characters if the enemy is killed during a higher initiative step, so you're generally only get 1-3 combat res from fighting. Also except for Chaos Lord on dragon, the new 10US requirement for the close order static res means dragon lords don't get it anymore. So its very easy for infantry bricks to win in static resolution against dragons.
>>96057235In the fluff and history man. Of course foot gwnerals were common in WHF bit for an "accurate" leader, they'd be mounted.
>>96057693Accurate is what you want it to be. Warhammer is not history. You can tailor fluff to your liking, they are YOUR DUDES. If your general likes to fight on foot then so what
I am getting back into fantasy after 10 years
Chosen empire
I have borghi 60 state troops
What do you think is a decent loadout?
I was thinking for sure at least 25 spears and 20 halberds. Could it be a decent choice to make 15 swordsmen with the rest?
Hey empire chads, I just finally pulled the trigger on an empire lot and am ready to drive back the darkness with combat res and guns. Any ideas for a 1k list? I got
>25 gunners with sprues for 5 more missile troops
>20 swordsmen and 10 state troopers on sprue plus extra parts
>12 knights with lances
>1 foot hero, 1 grandmaster
I also have some good proxy artillery for any of the empire ones.
Any ideas to build to 1k? My gut says use the extra bodies to make 15 halbs or spears, use the gunners for detachments, and use a great cannon? As for my Heros any good combos for foot and knight?
>>96057901Oh anon, you poor sod.
>>96057901Right now Halberds and Swords are both good, but spears don't have a lot of play. Then again proxying is the norm for loadouts so just build what you think is cool.
But for sure Sword and Shield > Halberds >>> spears imo
>>96057729Good point, just my autism flaring.
Are there no seeds anymore? Can't even get the metadata.
>>96054464That putty work you did around the joints really does elevate what was originally a fairly weak model from GW, hes looking good lad
Started doing some work on a lightly converted second giant, pretty happy with the skin so far, pants and weapon next. Unsure if I want to give him a tattoo of some sort.
How many minotaurs is too many for a 1k list?
I've got 6
>TQ
Been working on Dawi for a while and finished my BSB. I think the only models left to paint for a 2K army are a gyrobomber (running it as a gyrocopter for variety's sake since I already have a copter painted), and 20 dwarf warriors. I'm for sure going to keep expanding my dwarf roster before doing another army. I still have slayers, anvil of doom, other lord and engineer models, grudge thrower, cannon, etc. If I were to start a new army, who should I choose between Warriors of Chaos and Greenskins?
>>96059249That is gorgeous. Zamn.
>>96056530>>96056567I don't know guys. Just poke you head into /hhg/ because they're having a melt down over the new edition.
I really hope GW don't fumble fantasy (again).
>>96059747Iโm more worried about things that donโt have models to get removed next edition than the game being shit

How did we get so lucky that our errata is overall amazing and listened to community feedback and put the game into a much better position? Looking at HH 3.0 and it looks like a train wreck that would make me doubt the future of TOW if it werenโt for how recent and good the errata changes were. Are we the favourite children of specialist games?
>>96061513Itโs easy to just copy both past editions and other fan editions. HH had to changed because the settings moreโฆunique compared to tow.
