It's an island that has an actual island on it, so it's already better than 90% of islands printed in the last decade.

Besides, nobody hates islands. People hate blue. Dumb thread is dumb.

kinda? blue is still usually the strongest colour but if you havent learned how to play it or against it after all these years maybe a different card game or commander would be more your speed

>Red, deals anywhere from 1-3 points of damage to a creature which may proc other effects
>White, has exile which on paper sounds good but its execution is often janky and has downsides
>Green, large hard to kill creatures sometimes with hexproof
>Black, Kills creatures directly and because its black has flexibility with being able to kill your own creatures to proc other effects
>Blue, directly cancels any card played so no on death or enter field effects procs while wasting your mana and has bounce to hand which has flexibility with your own creatures enter field effects. Also has draw power so you can keep counter spells flowing as your 1/1 fairy deals chip damage.
A class that can only effectively counter itself is bad game design. Theoretically a weenie rush deck should be able to beat out blue but thats just one counter compared to other decks that are crushed under blue.

Who haven't seen the massive amount of power creep in the other colors over the past few years, particularly red and black.
Its gotten to the point where the main "control" card can be argued to be board wipes because the proliferation of strong 1-2 drops that are value engines in of themselves has made it so if one hits the board your kinda fucked unless you have your own value engine to counter it.

For example the latest ban wave hit 7 cards, the three red cards that made up the most oppressive strategies in the format. And the rst being the keystone cards for the handful of strategies that could compete.
Those being, the overtuned green value engine, the white enabler of an Omnificence combo that despite being able to win on turn three was still seen as lesser to the red strats, and a blue bounce spell used to recast targets while defending your own board alongside a black bounce target that forced to opponent to lost 2 and discard on ETB for 1 mana.
And again the red cards were the worst of the bunch.

That is all to say, blue hasn't gotten better but the rest of the game has gotten so much worse that blues potential to just negate bullshit is undertuned in regards to being actually useful.
