>>96089419Who haven't seen the massive amount of power creep in the other colors over the past few years, particularly red and black.
Its gotten to the point where the main "control" card can be argued to be board wipes because the proliferation of strong 1-2 drops that are value engines in of themselves has made it so if one hits the board your kinda fucked unless you have your own value engine to counter it.
For example the latest ban wave hit 7 cards, the three red cards that made up the most oppressive strategies in the format. And the rst being the keystone cards for the handful of strategies that could compete.
Those being, the overtuned green value engine, the white enabler of an Omnificence combo that despite being able to win on turn three was still seen as lesser to the red strats, and a blue bounce spell used to recast targets while defending your own board alongside a black bounce target that forced to opponent to lost 2 and discard on ETB for 1 mana.
And again the red cards were the worst of the bunch.
That is all to say, blue hasn't gotten better but the rest of the game has gotten so much worse that blues potential to just negate bullshit is undertuned in regards to being actually useful.
