Magic's story can be saved if they go all-in on gay dragon romance.

This scares the combo player

Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
>>96156873It hurts control players more, my dopplegang combo wouldn't care :)
Reminder there is literally no way to stop a combo player
>Attack them
They'll just combo off the turn before you kill them
>Remove all their combo pieces
They have seven free counterspells
>Play stax effects
They instantly remove all the stax pieces and combo through them
>Make them discard cards
They have 20 cards in their hand
>Wheel them
They recur it from their second hand
>Thoughtseize them
They have Leyline of Sanctity
>Stop building a useless shitpile
They're smarter and more handsome than me
>>96156882>seven free counterspellsName 7 free counterspells
>>96156882If three people cant collectively kill one person they all deserve to lose. They're just shittier combo players at that point
It's easy to build a budget combo deck that wins games.
>>96156892Fierce Guardianship
Uhhh
The second Fierce Guardianship (all combo players always cheat)
>>96156880Katilda control is unaffected since they generated their own mana advantage by just playing the game and can dump these kind of mana stax happily.
Just one-shot them with the commander damage lmao.
This scares the legacy and vintage players lmao
>>96156882It's true. That's why all cEDH decks are all-in combo decks like Rog/Si and Rog/Si and uh people still play Arcum Dagsson right? There's no cEDH decks that focus primarily on amassing insurmountable resource advantage through overloaded generic value engines (which are printed every other set) to the point their wincon is basically irrelevant. The very idea is ridiculous because you'd have to call that type of deck something stupid like "blue farm" or "no bad cards" which abbreviate to BF (sounds homosexual) and NBC (dangerously close to BBC, which I think about all the time as a normal person).

so these are the bonus cards then
So do we have the full set list for Edge Of Eternities yet?
>>96157003what's the problem with imago? supposed to only target yours?
What's the worst deck/commander you've ever made? Whether it was weak, poorly built, just didnt pan out etc.
If I'm walking into a random LGS to play, should I put tutors in my deck? I was thinking of putting wishclaw talisman in a group hug/politics deck, but maybe it'll piss off everybody I don't choose?
>>96157022That's honestly a good duo of bonus cards.
>>96157026Yes it's been fully spoiled. It ain't great.
>>96157003or is the problem with imago that it has a legend crown or isn't a legend?
>>96157039The vibes and preferences vary so much from LGS to LGS that it's impossible to say what will or won't piss people off.
>>96157049>>96157039I wish I had a playgroup that wasn't tutor + combo bullshit
>>96156941Nothing like having this in opening hand against blue players.
>>96157039Play this instead, copy it and everyone gets to tutor.
>>96157049Yeah but in general I mean. I am trying to understand all the bracket stuff too so I don't walk in with an overtuned deck and just wreck all the soccer dads who are playing precons.
>>96157046oh wow what a stupid oversight
>>96157037Rafiq. A single board wipe without mass protection set me back too much. When I took him apart to rebuild pic related the deck improved immeasurably.
>>96157003Yep UW is fucked now all the manpower is within the UB sets.
>>96157078There is no 'in general' is my point.
There are 3 different game stores near me, one of them I tapped out to play Revel in Riches, someone else board wiped, giving me enough treasures to win on my next turn, then everyone said my deck was way too strong ans won out of nowhere, another one someone says "my deck is pretty slow" and then combo wins turn 3, and the third is the Goldilocks zone that I actually enjoy playing in.
The best you can do is read the bracket descriptions and be honest about where your deck or decks fall.
>>96157090>A single board wipe without mass protection set me back too muchFucks sake, tell me about it. I got so frustrated how I had to start from scratch every single time. After a game with 6 board wipes I didn't touch the deck for like 5 years
whats some other exileslop commanders that are fun to play, but not overly reliant on the commander like picrel?
>>96157099Thanks anon. I may need to just test the waters with a precon one day and go from there.

>>96157037szadek and its not even close
i think in the 15 or so games i played with him i only ever managed to mill out one person and it was with dumping 30ish life into hatred but the deck was just way too weak to put up with the hate it recieved for being mill
on the bright side though i remade the deck into gatecrash lazav which i still have and enjoy to this day
>>96157172wish gaea would touch me desu senpai
>>96157172Underrated ramp.
>>96157037Thantis. I love forced combats, and goad in general. I tried as hard as I could to make my Thantis deck work, but my playgroup hates forced combat.

>>96156953yo when did Kripp get a card
>>96157206Forced combat is hated more than mill and infect at my LGS. You get targeted down fucking HARD if you bring that shit to the table
At what point is it worth it to proxy? I brewed a deck and its about $80. I would maybe proxy a couple of the cards, but doing the whole deck seems like overkill.
>>96157295>blocks your path
>>96157276I proxy everything over $1. It's a massive money saver when every deck needs/wants all those $1-$5 cards. I haven't spent more than like 20bux on a deck in years
>>96157162This has got to be one of the bottom 5 commanders in the entire format. Everything about it is shockingly bad. I'd argue for most of the vanilla legends over this, at least those can be properly voltron'd for commander damage kills.
>>96157162I wanted this to work ;-; I love all the OG big ravnica leaders

>>96157276If you already own an expensive card proxy it. If it's over $1 proxy it. If it's easier to just proxy the whole deck proxy it. There's no wrong answer.

when does a manacurve get too high?
I have a deck I consider slower and it's coming in at just under 3 for the average mana value. Could I afford to put some more expensive stuff in it you think?
>>96157470Anything over 3.xx is way too high unless you have a deck filled with dorks and what not. Play what you want but if you can't play the majority of your cards with 3 lands you have a really high chance of getting mana fucked.

For example, I cut Summoner's Sending because despite it being cheap, producing tokens/counters, and even being repeating graveyard hate, I just don't really like to track +1/+1 counters on random tokens and it feels like it's doing a little bit of a lot of things and is unfocused (despite the extremely based art). There were two. Warp meant we were going to get lots of good etb support effects right? We got one "whenever creature enters do damage" card. Space ships+stationing is obviously the big mechanic of the set and it feels like it has zero support outside of the cards themselves. Etc etc etc.
I'm getting really tired of how all these sets keep putting out barely a handful of any cards for different archetypes. Why bother dumping a new set every 6 weeks when it never supports anything that isn't artifacts or counters or landfall?

>>96159720literally just add red to Tidus and Yuna
I built a Big Stompy gruul deck to play at my LGS, but I can't seem to secure many wins despite being extremely consistent in gaining an advantage.
The game plan goes;
>Turn 1 land drop, Pass
>Turn 2 land drop, Commander, Pass
>Turn 3, land drop, tap out, 4 mana ramp spell, pass
>Turn 4, land drop, Tap out, 6-7 mana big fuck off scary creature
>Turn 5 onward; crank up the value engine until I have a board of 6 drops
This game plan is pretty much 100% consistent every game so long as I mulligan into a ramp spell and 2-3 lands, but no matter what It doesn't feel like I have enough to win even when I've ramped to like 20 lands
What are some changes I could make to keep this plan (even if its retarded) but actually secure the win?

>>96159739Yuna is firmly GW, even giving her blue was a stretch and they justified it with "lol water".
>>96159763Boardwipe protection, shit like Overwhelming Stampede. Just putting fat creatures on the board won't do much in 1v3unless you can murder at least two people at the same time.
Trying to make a degen salt inducing commander stuck between nekusar or tergrid?
>>96159782Tergrid and it's not even close. It's not just control like Grand Arbiter, it's also theft.
I'd argue Grand Arbiter clones is more toxic because it's not actually very good at ending the game, unlike Tergrid. But the sheer meltdowns some players have over theft makes her unjustly win out even though her wins tend to come much faster.
>>96159782Discard Shirei. Just put every Burglar Rat type effect in and sac them.
>>96159763Besides doing things like running some protection like red redirects or green hexproof and indestructible stuff there's not much else to it. In these kind of aggressive creature decks you need to quickly profile your opponents based on their color and commander choice. Once you assess what you're dealing with you need to start focusing down the player that will probably cause you the most trouble first. As in focus down the blue player if you've still got big spells you want to cast or if you've already got an established board instead go after the black player before they get to do a board wipe or something. Besides that I'm not sure what's with the cascade subtheme in your deck. Cascade is cool but it feels like a lot of these don't have any real focus or synergy with the rest of your deck. And cascade is already such a random mechanic that I don't know if it's really worth it unless you're going all in on it. I'd rather add things like board wide haste enablers like Fires Of Yavimaya or it's equivalents and big game ender cards like Overwhelming Stampeede or a repeatable version of it in Tyvar, the Pummeler. Maybe Stonehoof Chieftain to make your big guys even safer when going in.

>>96159933How do you plan on winning? You're getting a lot of value from your permanents but that value is just durdly creatures unless I'm missing something.
>>96159973to be honest I have no idea how to win with any deck that isn't combo
>>96159933Get some persistent life drain in here. You're spinning your wheels as the resident table annoyance and seeing a metric fuckton of cards but no card you find is going to turn the corner into a win.
>>96159763Consider this option.
>>96159864The cascade/discover/mill cards and play them for free subtheme is simply there to double dip on value when it comes to casting Cascade creatures. Due to how the deck is built, more than 70% of the time I will be cascading into a two land ramp spell that I cast for free, and if not I cascade into one of my draw engines.
The only reason I would really see cutting it is if the mana ramp it nearly always guarantees doesn't actually give me any kind of value other than having more land on board, which is certainly true in some cases.
>>96160001I mean heck, if it pays off in your experience then keep it up. Just commenting on what I would do. I tried similarly in one of my big creature Gruul and Jund decks but the cascade stuff always ended up on the chopping block for me. Even the more repeatable ones like Rain of Riches never really felt like they paid off. Or at least not in consistent ways for me.
>>96160015It pays off in that it gives me an extremely large number of lands on board, but as I said I've failed to secure many wins so maybe having 11 lands on turn 5 isnt all its cracked up to be if that doesn't mean you convert it into a win

>>96160032From my perspective your supposed stompy bomb is too cute for such an aggressive deck. Even in the budget range there are much more threatening drops that you can choose instead.
>>96159765Yeah, but Yuna has to be the other commander. Tidus is firmly all 4 colors, Red probably more than most due to you know the entire plot of the game and his life.

>>96160061Honestly I do actually think these would be worth including because I usually end up Hellbent by turn 6-7 due to just slapping down so many creatures. I think the main reason I didnt include them before is that they were above my (extremely limited) budget at time of building

on the practical side, planeswalkers are super vulnerable in multiplayer edh, so unless they are dummy op they don't have an impact. Maybe letting them spin their wheels for a year or two will stem the shitwater tide that has been their releases since like 2018

>>96159689Because they're fucking pointless. What mechanic would a WGRB Commander have that excludes blue? Not having counterspell stapled to it? >>96161664Lazy question gets a lazy LLM answer:
Based on the themes and emotions conveyed in the lyrics you provided, a fitting Magic: The Gathering commander could be K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth.
Reasons for this Choice:
Intimacy and Connection: The lyrics emphasize intimacy and connection, which can be reflected in K'rrik's ability to tap into the life force of others, representing a deep bond with the essence of life and death.
Imperfection and Struggle: The mention of imperfection aligns with K'rrik's nature as a character who embodies the struggle between life and death, as well as the complexities of existence.
Repetition and Reflection: The repeated phrases in the lyrics suggest a cycle or a feeling of being caught in a loop, which resonates with K'rrik's ability to recur and generate value from the graveyard, reflecting the cyclical nature of life and death.
Dark Themes: The darker undertones of the lyrics, such as "watch and listen the lie," can be mirrored in K'rrik's association with black mana and the moral complexities of his character.
Overall, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth embodies the emotional depth and complexity found in the lyrics, making him a compelling choice for a commander that resonates with those themes.

This is my reanimator theme recommendation. The guy keeps his list fairly up to date and is really dedicated to the commander. Give the deck a try and see how it flows and this isnt because he's a deck building genius but because the commander is so much better at reanimating.
>>96161937commanders for this feel?

>>961615811. Don't spread your deck too thin.
2. Don't get too attached to any cards anything can prove itself worth cutting
3. More draw and lands and interaction, less rocks and ramp
4. Find consistency in effects you want.
5. Have a gameplan and cards that can execute it. I want do X by turn 4 and include multiple lines of 1 2 3 and 4 drops that can get you there
redpill me on this
is it bracket 4-5 possible?
Anyone else that usually buys a box of each set thats released this set? I have 130 bucks store credit, so basically enough for pre release and a box, but overall this set seems pretty meh. I will probably just grab a few singles outside of pre release
>>96161581more, cheaper draw
actually play the deck and dont be discouraged when it sucks the first few times
Do that enough times and you start to get a feel for what you need and like
even now, after building probably 1000 decks, I know the first time piloting something is probably going to be a shitshow so just learn what you can from how the deck performs and make adjustments as you go.
>>96161998no. I only buy the Clerics of every single set and any card which might fit into my decks.

>>96161988Anything can be a bracket 4. There's enough good stuff to carry any shit commander
At a 3 bracket table how much of my deck needs to be committed to actually policing my opponents? I really don't like the idea of having to spend my turns stopping somebody else, especially if combos are not likely to happen.
>>96162044I personally wouldnt want to show up to any table at any power level without 10 pieces of interaction
>>96161988not 5, but probablt 4. just do +1/+1s and remember that "move a counter from target to target" is actually "remove a counter" and "put a counter" and goes through all the "if you would put a counter put double instead" and "if you would put a counter put that many plus one instead" effects.
>>96162044what is your deck trying to do?
Personally I would have preferred the chaos emeralds to be powerstone tokens but I guess that wouldn't be a very exciting bonus card

However I would argue it has not yet reached that point which is why I believe it's foolish for a business to use it. They are not the end user. They are an intermediate. AI currently does not produce works that rival the quality of human skill and it shows in final product.
While granted, humans have (likely) produced some utter rancid garbage as well (see: Marvel), that does not change how there is demand for high-quality writing that AI is currently incapable of creating.

>>96163492Why would women be into sexy women kpop girl groups that act all sexual for guys?
I don't even like the shit but you're delusional if you think its popularity is all women.
>>96163393Probably. People love 5 color good stuffs. White is probably higher now that wizards went out of their way to buff the playstyle.
>>961635145 color often has some interesting commanders.
>>96163505In the united states it's basically a rule that teen pop stars that are targeted at girls and young women act that way. IDK what you are on.
>>96163499Even as far back as the original game, there's heavily implied sex scene with Tifa if you built her relationship meter up before that point in the story. Kinda wonder if they'll have balls and go whole hog in the remake
>>96163498I would bet my entire collection that Netflix subscribers are disproportionately female.
>>96163536its like 51/49. With females being the 51%. Doesn't feel disproportionate.
>>96163229Is that really going to change anything? Wasn't Lord Of The Rings their highest selling set yet? Now it's usurped by Final Fantasy. It just reinforces what they already know. That Universe Beyond sells better. And with this Edge Of Eternities looking pretty shit right before Spider-Man of all things I think their path forward is very obvious.
>>96163560EOE will do well because it is getting a lot of hype from what I have seen. Also pushed
>>96163560>It just reinforces what they already know.that pretty girls that show midriff, bare shoulders, and pits sell well?
I doubt that lol
>>96163525oh, the phrase was 'cloud is a "sex with vagina" enjoyer'
I thought it was a typo of 'cloud has sex with a vagina enjoyer'
>>96163583I genuinely thought this was a pokemon card, based on the thumbnail. I hate UB so much.
>>96163597here have something more your speed buddy boy
>>96163518I mean 5c can literally do anything, so by design it has the most design space. Colorless is the most narrow, only having eldrazi and artifacts, or some mix of the two.
>>96163606>Radha I can't believe what they did to my girl.
>>96163618>girlI'm not shitposting here. That's a female elf?
>>96163608I reject the idea that those playing 5 color just want good stuff.
>>96163583I really shouldn't get another Tifa in deck since I already have her green one but damn it's tempting
>>96163637Jesus Christ how grim
Is this thing any good? I feel like in theory the answer is 'yes', especially since the tuck is a may ability.
>>96163661It used to be an absolute beast of a card. I still use it to great effect in grave pact decks.
>>96163571>it is getting a lot of hype from what I have seen>Also pushedAre either of these true? Seems like there's maybe a handful of cards in the set worth playing out of the couple hundred in the set and I haven't really seen it hyped anywhere either. I don't think it will be Karlov Manor bad but I wouldn't be surprised to see it almost as bad.
>>96163676>Are either of these trueNo
And black hidden gem cards that you love to use? My personal fav is break the ice
>>96163715Dead Man's Chest, I've never seen anyone else use it. IDK if that means people don't or not but I dont see it.
>>96163725That's a funny card ngl
>>96163725This got played against me when I was in a high power Gruul deck
Is this card good? I almost want to use it in a blue 1v1 control deck, or maybe a WR aggro deck to flash things in end of a turn and attack for big out of nowhere.
>>96163725>Steal a persons counter spell>Use their counerspell to stop game winning comboanti-theft lil dicks will never know such bliss
>>96163777some edh podcast pushed it hard for a long time
its an ok card in the right deck but overall not super worth it
>>96163628I also thought it was a dude, lmao
>>96163777Command zone pushed this for awhile. It's mediocre
>>96163673Was going to use it with hazel since she can copy tokens. The main issue is actually killing things constantly to trigger it.
I probably need dockside or vampiric rites as a constant token sac anyways.
>>96163785>command zoneJust Josh.
>>96163806And how many did Josh own personally
>>96163811more than the amount of mana crypts, fewer than the amount of terrible sleeves they shill
>>96163695That's what I figured. It just does look like an impressive set and I don't really see anywhere saying otherwise.
>>96163806Josh is the worst and I hate his fat face
They revealed a spiderman card btw
I'd post it but we're at image cap
even a second not seeing a fucking spiderman card is a blessing
>>96163882You can't escape him.
>>96163551You're not factoring in women who pay for the subscription with an account in their boyfriend's/husband's name.
>>96163871Does anybody even give a fuck about that set?
>>96163909It's fucking Spider-Man. Yes I think a lot of people are going to care about it. Even if it sucks it's fucking Spider-Man. People are going to try and make things from it work.
spoidermang is fucking boring
memberberries will carry it tho
>>96163929/tg/ thinks cape stuff is dead and super unpopular now.
>>96163944>memberberriesYeah I remember films released like 2 years ago
>>96163950The last good spiderman movie was over 20 years ago at this point. To the point the one you are talking about had to bring the villains and peter back from those films.
>>96163945Some of them may be but this is Spider-Man. He's one of the ever green capes. Like Batman and Superman. Regardless of what they've had come out in recent years these guys are always big names.
>>96163958Spider man popularity isn't nostalgic. Also I was referencing the spiderverse films
>>96163958Yeah and think about the average age of players now a days. I think a good chunk of them would have grown up with those movies even if they haven't bothered with anything Marvel after.
I can't WAIT for the endless movie discussion derailing the next thread!
>>96163958>capeshit good when it's from my childhoodYou're why they make these.
>>96163945Capeshit is dead. Marvel literally announced they're rebooting their universe after the next Avengers movie, not something you'd do if things were going well.
>>96164001Absolutely delusional lmao
Is a dimir fransisco/Malcolm pirate deck with a bunch of 1-2 mana pirates with evasion and time sieve considered too strong for bracket 2 and 3 because it's capable of chaining extra turns, even if I run no gamechangers?
>>96163992>over 600 posts>image limit reachednewfags lmao
>>96163777its meh and if youre in blue you can just do leyline instead
