There are 3 different game stores near me, one of them I tapped out to play Revel in Riches, someone else board wiped, giving me enough treasures to win on my next turn, then everyone said my deck was way too strong ans won out of nowhere, another one someone says "my deck is pretty slow" and then combo wins turn 3, and the third is the Goldilocks zone that I actually enjoy playing in.
The best you can do is read the bracket descriptions and be honest about where your deck or decks fall.

3 might be OK if you have cost reduction like the earth crystal or a metric fuck ton of early ramp and ways to recover and stabilize, but it's gonna be a real uphill fight. Though to be fair i like that style of deck where you recover and start to just plop down threat after threat every turn. A targeted spell like Decimate has its targets chosen upon casting the spell, before other players respond. You can't change targets afterward. If any of the targets of Decimate become illegal after it's cast, Decimate still resolves and destroys its the rest of its targets.

Your story was hard enough to follow that I think posting this may be helpful the next time your friend plays Decimate.

I'm pretty much about to start tweaking my Tidus precon again, but my first step was to cut cards that do things I don't like/want to keep track of. For example, I cut Summoner's Sending because despite it being cheap, producing tokens/counters, and even being repeating graveyard hate, I just don't really like to track +1/+1 counters on random tokens and it feels like it's doing a little bit of a lot of things and is unfocused (despite the extremely based art). I also cut Chasm Skulker because as much as I think that card is neat, I don't really like it in practice.

It is impressive just how bad it is so far. They really tried their best to make it bad. I kept a mostly light watch on the set so far. Only really checking in here and there. I kept waiting for something big to come that would be interesting and then diving into the set fully once that is revealed to see what supported it. It was too schizophrenic and aimless. When I saw pic related I got excited because I thought that with a proliferate Commander and obvious punny cards they could make ("set phasers to stun!") about it that there were going to be a slew of new stun cards. There were two. Warp meant we were going to get lots of good etb support effects right? We got one "whenever creature enters do damage" card. Space ships+stationing is obviously the big mechanic of the set and it feels like it has zero support outside of the cards themselves. Etc etc etc.

I'm getting really tired of how all these sets keep putting out barely a handful of any cards for different archetypes. Why bother dumping a new set every 6 weeks when it never supports anything that isn't artifacts or counters or landfall?

Mill is honestly one of the strongest litmus tests you can do for someone's mentality towards the game.
If they despise mill they're basically a Timmy with very little understanding of probabilities.

I built a Big Stompy gruul deck to play at my LGS, but I can't seem to secure many wins despite being extremely consistent in gaining an advantage.
The game plan goes;
>Turn 1 land drop, Pass
>Turn 2 land drop, Commander, Pass
>Turn 3, land drop, tap out, 4 mana ramp spell, pass
>Turn 4, land drop, Tap out, 6-7 mana big fuck off scary creature
>Turn 5 onward; crank up the value engine until I have a board of 6 drops
This game plan is pretty much 100% consistent every game so long as I mulligan into a ramp spell and 2-3 lands, but no matter what It doesn't feel like I have enough to win even when I've ramped to like 20 lands
What are some changes I could make to keep this plan (even if its retarded) but actually secure the win?

Besides doing things like running some protection like red redirects or green hexproof and indestructible stuff there's not much else to it. In these kind of aggressive creature decks you need to quickly profile your opponents based on their color and commander choice. Once you assess what you're dealing with you need to start focusing down the player that will probably cause you the most trouble first. As in focus down the blue player if you've still got big spells you want to cast or if you've already got an established board instead go after the black player before they get to do a board wipe or something. Besides that I'm not sure what's with the cascade subtheme in your deck. Cascade is cool but it feels like a lot of these don't have any real focus or synergy with the rest of your deck. And cascade is already such a random mechanic that I don't know if it's really worth it unless you're going all in on it. I'd rather add things like board wide haste enablers like Fires Of Yavimaya or it's equivalents and big game ender cards like Overwhelming Stampeede or a repeatable version of it in Tyvar, the Pummeler. Maybe Stonehoof Chieftain to make your big guys even safer when going in.

This guy is my personal favorite. I love being more proactive with my black decks, I have also enjoyed playing the original Massacre Girl for similar reasons.
My favorite black deck I have every played against is Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed. There was a guy on MTGO years and years ago with a well tuned but still causal version. It was just such a well oiled machine. His main wincon was copying deserted temple with the resonator and exsanguinating out but he just had so many iconic cards in the deck and made such good use out of them. He must have only been running demonic tutor also because every time I played against him the deck played pretty different.

That's fine. If AI produces art and writing of the exact same quality as a human, then the technology has filled a niche.
However I would argue it has not yet reached that point which is why I believe it's foolish for a business to use it. They are not the end user. They are an intermediate. AI currently does not produce works that rival the quality of human skill and it shows in final product.
While granted, humans have (likely) produced some utter rancid garbage as well (see: Marvel), that does not change how there is demand for high-quality writing that AI is currently incapable of creating.

I was thinking about changing my Derevi blink deck into a control deck, but it seems like the only good way to do that is to basically go full stax and I don't think my friends will find that all too fun to play against. (I also assume stax is fun to play one time and then not again)
