Spiderman's problem is that the people who have been making Spiderman exist in two camps: Those that like Spiderman and those that make Spiderman and there's no overlap between the two. Spiderman only manages to be fun when they escape to somewhere they're allowed to be cool: movie adaptations, gonzo spiderverse bullocks, spinoffs, etcetera.

The problem with the currently revealed Spiderman stuff is that it feels like it's fanservice for a fan that kinda doesn't exist. There's a pile of cards that are literally the same Spiderman in a franchise that is nearly a fucking pensioner at 60+ years old. We gotta hope hard that they're holding out on the good shit because if that's it the set is cooked.

The other problem with the set is that limited and constructed is going to be unplayable with players having to say "spiderman" no less than 70 times a game and pointing to make sure you understand which Spiderman they mean. You'd think that wouldn't be a problem in a set that is racing to beat previous Legendary Creature records, but here we are.

As one-off cards nothing jumps out at me for my decks either, so eh; color pie seems weird too.

dota in warcraft 3 also worked without matchmaking and retards were fine.
age of empires 2 allowed only maximum 8 players per match, and boomers were sending each other their IPs via messengers when someone was hosting a game. the germans alone had their own league and clans for players over 30.

Warcraft Dota also had its own slew of issues where if you weren't part of a custom client that basically did unofficial matchmaking and penalized you super hard for leaving games, people abandoned games constantly which meant you rarely got past what passed for laning in that age.

Yup. That's the best part. Winning enough, but where it feels fair, others feel like they get to play the game enough. It's why I run a midrange to long range control attrition deck with plenty of board wipes and removal to keep someone from comboing off, while not being a threat myself until late game when it's time to end the game, and I tend to do that without a two card combo.

There are a few ways, the four I have in my deck are: Bramble Sovereign, Lithoform Engine, Mirage Mirror and Mirror of the Forebears.
Then there are a few other methods: Shifting Woodland (which I should include but it's expensive), Minion Reflector (high mana cost for what I want compared to what I have included), Mirrorpool (needs a wingnut), then all the lands that can become a copy of Mirrorpool for the same effect.

Another card I like Boundless Realms. If you have a Lotus Cobra out it allows you to pretty much spit out the rest of the lands in your deck and play anything you want, while thinning your deck to anything but a land. Since hardly anyone plays mass land destruction, it's really easy to "fairly" get out of hand. No combos, just pure ramp and attack. Oh and Eldrazi Monument is a must.
