>TQ
Female Gargants/Mega Gargants and huge beasts (pets/animal companions)
>>96214869 (OP)I can't imagine much more other than another type of Mega but that'd be dumb, one anon mentioned awhile back giving them a piece of terrain that's just a giant boulder that they kick around like a soccerball or can be hit back into them.
Only other option I can think of that would be kinda funny would just be a little teeny tiny guy who they use as a prophet or wizard (oh shit, or an SOB that has a bunch of wizards in cages and just zaps out random spells when he rattles the cages)
>>96214869 (OP)>TQ>โArmoredโ mega with large scraps of metal and stone walls strapped to him.>Wizard/Priest mini gargant>Resculpt of mini gargants
Once my Fyreslayers arrive, I think I might strip my painted Ghouls and Horrors so I can paint them in the same base skin tone as my Fyreslayers, although I will tint the skin a bit more. Both forces exist in the same underground empire and were erstwhile - and now occasionally, allies.
>>96214869 (OP)Honestly i would erase the range.
Order has 9 armies
Chaos 7
Death and Destruction 4 each and one of those slots is for this weird Knight-like army. I think if Destruction wants to be interesting needs something better.
>>96214869 (OP)Mancrusher diversification: javelin, wizard/shaman, women, weapon options that are meaningful, drunken gargant kit that's actually modelled to reflect it, battering ram big stabba style model with two Mancrushers
>>96214869 (OP)I think the biggest problems of the range are that all the legs are posed exactly the same in all cases, so I think the megagargant kit should get an additional sprue that gives them legs posed in a different way, or an alternative megagargant kit with all sorts of other options, that's ideally largely compatible when it comes to heads and arms
in terms of stuff that could be slapped as an option for the kit, I'd say a bit to have a two headed giant, which could make the giant a wizard if it gets to have a staff and some hoods, but more importantly I'd say it'd be really really cool if you had enough bits to completely armor up a giant, so armored head, armoured fists, pauldrons, gutplate, metal boots, cape of stolen banners, shield made out of a gate, and greatsword stolen from a statue (perhaps with the bronze hands still attached)
a good scenery piece I think would be an enormous footprint of behemat or ymnog, the narrative being that the giants follow the fossilized steps their god forefather (or grand) once walked
for spells I'd make enormous beanstalks, perhaps great clouds (with a gigantic face and mouth blowing), and then I'd steal
>>96214910 and have an endless spell that's just a boulder, I think making it a spell is better than a piece of scenery
also I'd have an underworlds band that's just a pair of disembodied legs and some red creepers
>>96214999order has 5 armies
elves have 4 armies, elves aren't order
>>96214869 (OP)>TQThe matriarch wizard is mandatory, though I love this guy's suggestion
>>96214910 of a bunch of trapped wizards lmao.
My idea is a mega gargant holding a captive dragon like an irondrake holds his gun and essentially using it as a living flamethrower. If I get good enough at greenstuff I'd like to try myself.
>TQ
The obvious idea is a dedicated wizard/priest dual kit.
Something i'd do is add a bunch of gargants to other factions like a zombie gargant in Soulblight or a Azyr Shrine carrying gargant in CoS and then make them all playable in SoB (or at least have the GA related Mega Gargant enable you to use gargants from that GA, like Gatebreaker letting you play the zombie one)
>>96215135Well fuck there goes my "original" idea. But yeah basically scale this up with like a draconith or whatever and you've got the ideal gargant.
>>96215201Well you could probably find a conversion someone did for just about anything
>>96214869 (OP)>TQeasy, two new kits.
>1Aleguzzler Gargant. Same size as the Mancrusher but with a different pose. Give it a second build option, Rock Lobber Gargant or something.
>2Medium size Gargant. Lore says girl Gargants are smarter, so make it a caster Gargant. Second build option as a named character.
After that, throw in another sprue to the Aleguzzler kit to give it anothr build option like they did with the Mega
After that, thrown in another sprue to the female caster Gargant kit to give it another build option
Bing bango, there you go. Ease peasy lemon squeezy.
Anyone got the new Khorne book? Its in the app already, but im not paying no fucking subscription
>>96214869 (OP)>TQ1. Anatomically correct Megagargant.
2. Fully armoured Megagargant used as walking siege tower by Chorfs
3. Chaos Megagagagargant of Tz.
>>96215304Isnt the beard guy the chaos one already?
>>96215304>Anatomically correct Megagargantthat's just any normal action figure
Warhammer Community FINALLY posted an article celebrating the anniversary/looking back on the first 10 years.
It took too long, but it's reassuring.
>>96215273the app subscription doesn't unlock it lmao you have to buy the battletome
>>96214869 (OP)>How would (you) expand the Sons of Behemat range?A female megagargant unit. Her job will be to tell tall tales of megagargants of yore to inspire the young 'uns, and yell to berate them when they're not stomping good enough.
>>96215304I like the armoured idea but I prefer if it's just bits of castle walls and towers instead to give it that fairytale. I feel like proper armour coul work on a mancrusher though.
>>96215380Yeah matriarch wizard type deal seems like a popular suggestion too.
This feels mistitled. "Champions of Chaos" makes it sound like it's a book in the vein of the previous Champions books, adding supplemental options for the mainline Soulbound game, but apparently this will be a standalone book. Should probably have called it something different in that case.
>>96215341I think you might be looking at a different www.warhammer-community.com than I am.
>>96215466I hope it has cool art.
Also that it mentions beastmen
>>96215324One-Eyed Grunnock *works* for Chaos armies. Alas, he hasn't received any blessed mutation yet.
>>96215494He's taking the piss anon
>>96214869 (OP)Unique mercenary gargants would help ngl, kill two birds with one stone
>>96215466There was some talk of calling it Chaosbound, but I guess that might have confused some players who thought it would be a different system to Soulbound, and C7 have gotten rather lazy with their RPG names as of late with The Old World Roleplaying Game and The Horus Heresy Role Playing Game.
>>96215532No, it's there. Working on a link
>>96215549But they alreayd have that. In fact they basically have just that
>>96215466Isn't it literally jsut Champion of Chaos in line with all the other Champions of books, that simply got bloated with the long dev time?
>>96215637It's in-line with the other supplement, but I think C7 have said in the past that the book is basically completely standalone,e and you don't even need the core rulebook for it used.
is 4th playable yet or is it still slop?
>>96215668We're only just now getting battletomes that do something besides copy pasting the index so eh.
>>96215748we're 1/3 years in soon
>>96215668It's fucked.
Next edition might very well be the best mainline game ever released if they keep the right rules and inject fun back in.
But it's shit now
>>96215466Wouldn't Archaon's champions be undivided fighting monocults and not the other way around?
>>96215820They can be a bit of whatever so long as he can find a use for them.
>>96215813what exactly about the current state of aos and the teams working on it makes you think they are capable of the best mainline game ever???
>>96215986spearhead is good
they would just need to make the whole game like spearhead
>>96216059Wasn't spearhead written by someone who's gone now?
>>96216075no i think you're thinking of warcry
>>96215820Fist of the Everchosen was specifically Undivided+Khorne+Tzeentch, so he uses cult champions too
>>96216139Speaking of, is it still considered dead (in terms of support) ?
Apparently they mentioned it in the chorf stream but I've also headd anons saying the presenters are notorious retards who may have confused it for spearhead, though I don't know much about that.
It's got a decent amount of players at my lgs, but yeah strange that we've had radiosilence for so long.
>>96216211i dont think they're squatting it, but i do think it's entered a "maintenance mode" of sorts
>>96215813What happened with 4th Ed?
I played 2nd and 3rd pretty often, but got busy when 4th dropped and haven't played since.
What should happen for Tzeentch to get models as good as the other gods?
>>96215637It seems sort of like soulbound 1.5e, itโs a standalone book that probably contains an updated set of core rules but is still backwards compatible with everything else
>>96215986Disregard this homosexual
>>96216059Spearhead is mid to trash
The core rules for AoS ARE well written, and the MtG stack they settled on (active player does all their shit, then opposing player) actually does a good job cleaning up a lot of the bullshit that slowed down other editions of AoS. BTs (if the fucking things HAVE to EXIST) are better as something you build into your army, not a choice every battle round (which further slows everything down). Limiting CP was a good choice. The current 'low drops gets priority, but high drops can get a once per game reroll' is the best solution to get around the anchor that is the double turn. The current core rules are the best AoS can be short of finally just going Alternative Activation. The only miss (and it's a huge, gaping miss) is they stupidly sucked all the flavor out of the armies (few artifacts, boring battle traits, the shit d3 rule). If they can combine some of that 2nd Ed flare with the 4.0 core rules, AoS will be one of the best wargames on the market.
>>96216264I will add, even though the battletomes this edition are largely flavorless grey paste, the recent books (probably written shortly after launch when they released they went way too far) have been slowly dripping flavor back in (Wrathmongers getting the 'hitting yourself' rule back was EXTREMELY unexpected). However, it's too late for all the books already released.
>>96216264You get it, anon.
As for flavor, the Khorne AoR screams stupid fun and seems like it might be really good. And with some of the SoG stuff it feels like GW's loosening the grip on boring rules.
>>96216285The Khorne AoR is another excellent shout for fun being allowed back in. It's probably the coolest AoR they will ever do
>>96216245Eh, I guess Nurgle and Slaanesh are better off, but Tzeentch has it a good bit better than Khorne.
>>96216301Not in the craziest Tzeentch fan dreams.
Tzeentch has a bunch of shitty birds and naked barbarians.
Khorne is full of chads and great models like pic related.

Reposting this 3e CoS tome cutout narrative from the last thread because itโs very nice
>>96216323Let's be honest here. James doesnt have the balls to make female Giants.
>>96216323https://files.catbox.moe/i0pfaf.mp4
>>96216337I like that. Can you still run Dispossessed with CoS in 4e? That would probably be what would make me give CoS a shot.
>GW will not deliver giantess mommys
>GW wll not deliver more monster girls
>GW will not deliver female fyreslayers barely cover
who is in charge of design and why they are not doing what should be done?
>>96216366could always go 3rd party
>>96216357>Can you still run Dispossessed with CoS in 4e?for now, but that is HIGHLY tenuous. the kits have already all been reboxed for the old world, all the old fantasy units are being removed from cities over time.
buyer beware
>>96216366>>GW will not deliver female fyreslayers barely coverI for one am ok with this.
>>96216349Don't get your hopes up, guys, because if GW were to release official miniatures of female gargants, we would undoubtedly be greatly disappointed.
>>96216294It's gonna be hard to top. That new Tzeentch/CoS one is also super cool looking.
>>96216366Giantess fags are pretty annoying and monstergirl fags are just closet furries 90% of the time so I'm mostly with GW on this one. The lack of scantily clad literally-smoking-hot shortstack cuties is a missed opportunity, however.
>>96216357You can and a bunch of their units are pretty solid, some of the pain points with the racial segregation of deployments and keyword bingo on abilities have been mitigated with their scourge of Ghyran rules update too.
I sort of agree with
>>96216380 that itโs unclear which units will be staying or going in this tome, but I will add that there is absolutely 0 chance theyโre just squatting them from the army completely, biggest risk is that they release CoS wave 2 this edition and it comes with new city duardin units that replace older kits, but even then worst case scenario is you have cool proxies/kitbash material for those new units.
Disciples of Tzeentch need female Tzaangors
Why? True devoted knowers understand why without needing an explanation
>>96216387The fyreslayer women models weโve already got are wearing croptops and loincloths
I really want to make my runelord a woman but itโs fucking impossible to find any lady dwarf heads anywhere, anyone got any advice?
The ideal for me so far has been finding someone selling the votann grymnyrrโs female head option, or getting one of those fyreslayer women cheap & carving the head off to use, but Iโve never found either of those available on bit sellers or eBay whenever Iโve looked.
>>96216536Just look for a female head you like retard, you're boxing yourself in by only looking for dwarves
>>96216431Giantess fag here
Seethe
>>96216427Yeah if they gave us giantess gargs they would just be ugly with poor tits
>>96216652Boy a lot of things come up on Google when typing in that username, you should delete this
Man this is a lot of discontinued models that don't have replacements.
>>96214975Wtf is happening in that image?
>Forfs Vs Rats Vs Ghouls>Vampire Scaly Giant Dwarf>On top of a mountain but actually its a caveI don't know what to focus on. It's lovely
>>96216730>man this is a lot>5 of those images are from the same kiti dont disagree, losing sacrosanct was brutal, but that image is a bit misleading
>>96216812I was just looking to see if the Lord-Arcanum still existed an pulled it from the wiki. Didn't look any further than that.
I wanted to see if I could potentially make a good looking Gelt.
>>96215466>Every single character in the art is a recognizable model in a warhammer army>Except the mandatory black empowered heorineThe anglo mentality is absolutely broken. I fully expect the art in this book to be full of the same type of DEI characters.
anyone have a link for the 4e IDK book?
>>96216837She's pretty cool lookin for a mandatory darkie, to be fair.
>>96216679Can't believe I doxxed myself like a retard
>>96216837Thatโs literally just a genderbent slaughterpriest, what you talking about? What kind of mental illness produces people like you
>>96216837Hey can you show me where to buy that warlock engineer
I can only find a guy with a sniper rifle and telescope
>>96216730Itโs insane they squatted every single wizard in the army except for 1 foot hero, 1 named monster, and a non-hero unit thatโs just three of the foot heroes hanging out together. Turning a magic heavy army into the darkoath literally overnight
>>96216827you could definitely make a good looking gelt with the right models
>>96216653Thatโd look like shit, the proportions of a dwarf hero are way off of human ones. You can sort of get away with it for kharadron because the bulk of their suits can hide the mismatch, but you canโt throw an ironbreaker head on a freeguild marshal and expect it to look good in the same way the reverse is also impossible.
>>96216730I feel more infuriating the death of two whole factions.
Specially one that had a lot of possibilities, a stablished player base and a whole range to update.
>>96216536It sounds like you have identified multiple head options already. What's the issue?
>>96217087i really dont think beasts was the aos teams choice. i think whoevers in charge of the old world project demanded it and went over the aos teams head
>>96217095I donโt want to buy a whole ass kit for either of those two options and neither are ever available anywhere Iโve looked as bits, was hoping someone might have insight into any other options or where to look for those parts if not
>>96217109I think itโs hard to argue that isnโt the case, the way they had to pivot on a dime despite building up the morghur shit, giving them endless spells + a foot hero, and integrating them into the Thondia narrative doesnโt make any sense if they always wanted to squat them. Itโs too much investment even if you buy into that dumb โoh they wanted to push them as a last hoorah and hope they became profitableโ narrative people peddle
>>96217073The middle one immediately caught my eye. The head is near perfect, just cut off the parts in between the spikes.
>>96217087Beastmen and who else?
>>96217112What kit are you using as the base? If it's the standard Runelord kit be aware that there's no details on the front of the torso because they expected it to be covered by the beard.
I'd honsetly say that the Grimnyr kit would be a way better starting place. All you'd need is some arm swaps, and the sleeves would make that easy
>>96217146Naked Orruks I supposeโฆ The truth is, plain and simple, no one liked those armies.
>>96217157you are full of shit because i liked goats
>knights of the crimson keep
>can take their Kastelai leader
okay
>Scions of Nu lahmia
>Cant take neferata
Make it make sense. The army of renown was already bad in 3e when they could take a...vengorian lord? For some fucking reason? they're even worse now. I think cado was also excluded.
Alright, I've got the big fuck off Sigmar guys vs Rats box. I'm not vibing with the Stormcast at all, but I feel the rattos. What are some must have things to grab expanding off of this?
Hey, does anyone know the canonical size of the Gargants and Mega-Gargants, because the thumbnails don't tell me anything?
>>96217381The Aztec/Mayan/Inca Space Lizard Men
>>96217381Paint the stormcast first so you know what youโre getting into. Maybe even practice some schemes for your rats on them.
>>96217386Gargants should be about 6 to 10 meters tall and megas double or triple that or more.
>>96217381Do't buy anything else until you've finished at least half the models you already have, but after that ether the Skaven Spearhead or a Verminlord would be a good move
Kruelboyz, Skaven or both?
>>96217622You can get both gutrippaz and clanrats for relatively cheap on ebay so I say grab one of each and see which one you like painting more
>>96217622>>96217658Also on that stormbringer magazine
>>96217695Is there a better way to get those in the US than ebay?
>>96217622Kruleboyz, they have boltboyz and all boltboyz are my sons
>>96217175Post your fully painted goat army
Has anyone used Ak interactives green putty? I donโt really see what its use is, but Iโm looking to make some hair for some bald fucks. Maybe some teeth too.
>>96217751Directly from the website. They have a us storefront online.
>>96216954Really fucking bad too dude. Keep your head down for a bit and don't shitstir with your models for a bit and you'll be fine though. Take some time and watch some more anime about elves with big tits and asses. I suggest Bastard! And Airmaster
>>96217776Just use miliput or greenstuff, one part puttys tend to go bad very quick if you don't use them up
Does anyone have the latest (or previous) Seraphon tome WITH the painting guide? I find GW battletome guides yield some nice results without taking too much effort or requiring advanced techniques that are prone to error.
I have pic rel and while I got my airbrush out and freshly cleaned I want to get the stone basecoats done on the chair
I tried a light grey with aggrax and it looks like crap. I prefer a cold grey or a warm yellow-y sandstone color that looks dusty similar to the egpytian ruins from movies like The Mummy. I plan to go for a dark cold green leaf and vine color that highlights up to a yellow-y green similar to moot green. nice and saturated
>>96217381errr it depends on the type of list you want to run. if you want a skryre clan heavy list then get the skaven spearhead for the stormfiends and lightning cannon. after that get some weapon battery teams that can be built as 3 different guns.
for clan moulder, get some more rat ogres off ebay if possible, a master moulder, and the hell pit abomination is prettty strong and tanky but the rules could change in the future.
I'm not knowledgable about a verminus clan list, but they run mostly foot melee infantry and some heroes to support them.
clan pestilens and eshin have very little support and kits at the moment so I wouldn't recommend them unless you REALLY like their theme and lore. their current kits are very very old and you're better off printing them.
besides that you want plenty of clanrats since they fit in any clan's list and make for great multipurpose infantry/chaff.
>>96217622Kruleboyz are sick, I need to do more of them at some point

>>96217992why didn't they just call it Yu Tube
>>96218121>Yu>google what does Yu means in Chinese?"The Chinese word "yu" (yรบ, ใฉห) can represent many different characters and meanings. It can be a surname, like "Yu" (ไบ), or it can be part of a word with different meanings, such as "fish" (้ฑผ/้ญ), "to meet" (้), or "surplus" (ไฝ/้ค).
Here's a breakdown:
Yu (ไบ): A common Chinese surname, and also means "at," "in," or "from".
Yu (้ฑผ/้ญ): Means "fish".
Yu (ไฝ/้ค): Means "surplus" or "extra".
Yu (้): Means "to meet," "to encounter," or "to come across".
Yu (ๅป): Can mean "to describe" or "to liken".
Yu (ไฟ): Another common surname.
Yu (่): A surname and also means "to expect" or "to worry".
Yu (็พฝ): Means "feather" or "wing".
The specific meaning of "yu" depends on the Chinese character it represents and the context in which it is used. "

anyon else see the rules for Claws of karanak in spearhead?
seems super aggresive and snowball-y. you get buffs for focusing down single targets
>>96215813Tbh I donโt get the hate. Personally I think 4e is the most fun in any wargame Iโve had in a while. Personally 10e 40K is painful to play rn, but AoS has been hitting almost every note for me. I wish we had some sort of world building device like the previous path to glory rules had, but homebrewing some territory side thing isnโt exactly hard either.
>>96217386Megas are varied, depending on how much Behemat juice they got they can be bigger or smaler

These conspiracy theories about FW/Specialist Games studio somehow being these evil puppetmasters are hilarious. They're the second class citizens who do whatever GW tells them to, like becoming the Bloodbowl and Nucromunda slaves to the detriment of everything else.
>>96218645>they literally got armor, which is heresy to FS design languageRunefather and Smiter have pauldrons
>>96218795Ornamental and absolutely minuscule compared to a breastplate.

>>96218938It's a giant breastplate, fuck off retard.
>>96218735I don't think it was the specialist team per se, just probably the higher echelons of gw's management. It's just weird that they would feature them so prominently in the campaign books, building up to some shit only to unceremoniously squat them a bit later. Maybe the aos team tried to give them a last hurrah ? Idk the squatting felt pretty rushed.
>>96218645NOOOOO THEY SHOULD HAVE EXPOSED BREASTS
I miss the hints at higher tech stuff for cities but now they're pre renaissance
>>96219049They should have a bra so they don't flop all over the place

>2 years into its 2nd edition it goes dark for 9 months with no promise of future content
An unorthodox play, let's see if it pans out.
>>96219470I think GW justvwanted to fix the "buy 5 blister heroes to make 1 unit" thing
>>96219477Pyre and Flood was April 2024
4th edition starter box rules were in May 2024
So it's well over a year since the last update no matter how you cut it.
The lead designer left in February but before that he lead the Spearhead development afaik.
Chorfs will supposedly get Warcry rules and it's due a new edition as per 3 year rotation standards in Aug/Sep/Oct. That said the bumbling idiots hosting reveal streams probably meant Spearhead as they're known to get things wrong
>>96219510*Sep 2024 for Ruination Chamber
Decided to add another box of wardens and a bannerblade to my lumineth. Bannerblade with silverwand, putting him In the shrine to be a level 2 wizard to hold down an objective with 20 wardens seems pretty fun
>>96219477Honestly I never found a passion for this game. It was a cool idea as a chaos thunderdome it was originally pitched as but then it just grew into a worse version of early kill team. I'm just praying our path to glory league in September doesn't include this and underworld into it. Way too much shit going on when I just wanna play fluffy AoS
>>96219584It's a lot more fun than kill team for casual play and dice rolling. Kill Team has an autistic amount of gear and data sheet tracking by comparison and every team has a completely different role set compared to the relatively standardized warbands.
I wouldn't mind Warcry going away if they hadn't also brutally murdered my beloved Underworlds with the new edition.
Whatever happened to terrain traits like Inspiring, Arcane, etc. Is that all gone now?
>>96219584Cant agree, i find warcry to be the probably the best GW game they made in a long ass time, mostly because the scenario generator is actually fun
>>96219584They were talking about using Stormcast and other armies before release? Check the stormcast podcast on it
3rd edition warcry will be competitive shit if it does release
Hi all
I come bearing ogre things
They are getting a pretty mid size release, more to come later but the core of the range is getting shored up. Byebye resin
Named Tyrant coming.
Current Tyrant is getting retired, new, larger, multi-option kit coming.
Butchers will get a plastic kit, dual build also makes a Firebelly.
Slaughtermaster will get a plastic kit, less Skrag looking, visual build choice of him lugging a chained cauldron or having him posed cooking in it
Gluttons getting a new plastic kit, 5 model count. All command options from current kit kept, although Bellower and standard bearer are combined into 1 model (see pic). Build with 1 club and open hand or 1 club with ironfist. Leader can have 2 ironfists and more armor.
Ironguts getting a new plastic kit, see Gluttons for most changes. 3 models, larger, much more armor, butcher knife glaives and big clubs as options.
Leadbelchers getting a new plastic kit. See Gluttons for most changes. 3 models, cannons or harpoon guns as options.
Gutwrangler Beasteater: new plastic hero. Equipped with chains and nets and goads. Comes with 3 mountain lion looking animals.
Icebrow Hunter, yetis and Frost Sabres getting retired.
Don't know anything about rules, didn't see anything about Maneaters. The little goblins are still around.
>>96219727Incredible fatties will get an almost full revamp and Goats were erased.
>>96219727Big if true. Love the picture.
Any BBW lady gluttons?
>>96219727Also are the Stonehorn and Thundertusk staying?
Is the design aesthetic the same or are they going to look wildly out of place
>>96219727so... BCR kinda getting the middle finger right? we will embrace full Gutbusters Mawtribes.
Raiders are staying AFAIK.
Think the new hunter as the new aesthetic.
There will be female ogres.

did the GHB revive interest in playing AOS at your local scene?
>>96219764>new hunter as the new aesthetic.bloodpelt hunetr, or the underworlds one? Because the bloodpelt is just not it man
>>96219778Yes
But it's still kinda flavorless. And I made a list that hasn't lost yet so it's kinda meh that this point
>>96219547Where are you getting the second power level? Heโs not a wizard natively.
>>96219727Why would they retire the current tyrant ? It's like 5 years old, and doesn't seem aesthetically different from what you're proposing, unlike say the old Wight king on horse? Smells fishy to me.
>>96219780The bloodpelt isn't that bad with a headswap imo, like picrel i found.
>>96219778Yeah. Like anon said lots of flavor missing but looking back sometimes the flavor was fucking obnoxious and not fun for most people to have casual games with factions dropping 800 free points on the table. But yeah my local scene is on an uptick since late 2e finally with 4e. We have a couple games on Wednesdays and weekend warriors show up. Planned path to glory coming.
So far we have
Ogor
Orruk
Gitz
2 skaven
Kharadron
Slaanesh
Tzeentch
Lumineth
Fyreslayers
2 Cities
Idoneth
Stormcast
FEC
And SBGL
Seraphon player is still building and one guy wants to play Chorfs but no idea if they'll be here in time
>>96219807I'm boomed. I forgot it's reroll spell I get it mixed up with Sanctum. Could also just sanctum him up on a point for the ward and that'd make him level 2.
>>96219727It's the opposite of the thing a different guy said previously, but I'll believe it.
ell, I'll believe both. Bring on the Ogors!
>>96219727It all sounds like an extreme fake and gay wishlist because you don't like the new ogres having small heads
>>96219727I smell a lot of bullshit here.
Actually hold on a fucking minute guys Whitefang is also hinting at ogres today

>>96219976>>96219978It would be funny if the AoS designers team showed Total War how to make a new Greasus model that doesn't look like shit in a wheelbarrow.
>>96219913For real tho the new ogres have tiny fucking heads (the Cathay ogre head is so fucking small)
>>96219842That's a BIG local scene to me
I just want some indication of things. I'm fine buying Ogors if I get 3 years out of them but they could be refreshed this edition so what's the point
>>96220120We'll likely get a new roadmap by Nova (one month from now) at the latest. So not too much longer until we've got an idea what the next year has in store.
>>96220113You literally can't fit the Cathay ogre head on the neck stump of the old one, I was literally comparing the heads last night you fag
>>96220170I can imagine, from the image clearly indicating the scale difference
>>96219976>>96219978Over/under on this being an ogre butt scratcher or something ?
>>96220224its too small for it to be that desu
>>96219998yeah, though there was one earlier than that too funnily enough
>>96220056It's pretty healthy but we had maybe 4 people playing in the end of 3e
>>96220224Pretty much nill, that's too delicate for an Ogre. Most likely either a Kurnothi or Wood Elf model.
>>96214903The fact that there isnt some AoS flavored Paul Bunyan like Mega Gargant is such a waste of potential.
Also give us a ranged Mega Gargant with a giant slingshot or something fun like that.
Why is Warhammer's X account dead since March? I was confused why they still shilled Emperor's Chidlren and then realized they haven't done shit in months
How many points is the mortal khorne spearhead? I'm trying to reach 1k points and eventually 2k of mortals and maybe some daemons (I can print some bloodletter proxies). I was also looking at the new regiment or renown but the sculpts on the 5 elite guys and the slaughterpriest aren't worth the price tag to me. I know the bloodreavers are old but they're just meath shield dorks. I also don't like the big bloodthirsters very much. I'm also curious about the points in the start collecting. I know the tome jsut came out and I heard that it's a very fun army now compared to the intricate army it was before, so are the points values in the free faction pack correct or do you need to buy the tome for a code to access the info and warscrolls on your phone?
>>96220282They're brits, I doubt they even know who Paul Bunyan is
>>96220282At first i only saw the 1st part of the post you've replied to and wanted to say that Fate's depiction isn't exactly accurate...
>>96220323The old spearhead ? Was pretty good iirc, around 700-750 points. Might've changed with the new points though.
>>96219470they're fine, cheap, decent damage, infantry+skryre keywords.
>>96219727>yetis getting retired.NOOOOOO
>>96219778Actually, yeah. That and Sand & Bone has lead to quite a bit more AoS seeing play at the local club. The GHB missions I've had a chance to play so far have been pretty interesting.
>>96220323the points are here
>https://assets.warhammer-community.com/eng_aos_faction_blades_of_khorne_battle_profiles-ggaboatyxu-qa20sqbr9e.pdfthe spearhead is 680 but it only has 5 bloodwarriors and you need to be playable.
The rules in the factionpack are now completely outdated.
>>96219727Very cool, this paves the way for them to not be the starter faction for 5e.
>>962204775e starter will obviously be Fyreslayers Vs Helsmiths of Hashut
>aos cavalry
>3 models
>champion, musician and bannerman
>not a single regular guy the unit should actually be composed of unless you get more boxes
Why is this so common?
5e will be tyrion elves vs malerion elves surely
>>96220490Even worse, if you want to be entirely optimal and entirely WYSIWYG, they usually have 1 champion, 2 musicians and 2 standard bearers in a 6 model unit. So 1 normal one.
>>96220490they want cav to be elite but feel attached to the idea of command squads for aesthetic reasons.
>>96220490AoS is not WYSIWYG
>>96220510Aren't current rules made in a way where there is no difference between 1 musician and 10 musicians and all the effects that targeted specific model were changed to units?
If they follow the pattern so far, 5th ed starter box will be Slopcast vs Death. I can't think of any Death factions at the moment that would fit.
Am I overdosing on copium if I think there's any chance of Vampire Coast?
>>96220510That's one rule I always just ignore. Fuck that shit, it should be 1 per unit.
>>96220528The difference is you have more freedom what models to choose to remove from the unit and maintain the buff. Very minor but still, optimal.
>>96220490i genuinely dont understand why they keep bothering with the banners and musicians, just make it a cool little bit in the box? Whats the oint of giving them rules?
>>96220490Find it annoying too, I just build mine without the musician, or in such a way that the musician is still just holding weapons.
>>96220487Fyreslayers vs sons of behemat obviously
>>96220531Ossiarch maybe ? Coast would be cool but idk if it's realistic.
>>96220558I think Ossiarch are the next most likely. Beginner friendly, not too gory for the kids, room for new units.
But I want sea shanties and gunpowder.
>>96220558>Fyreslayers vs sons of behemat obviouslyIf gw stops being retarded, and makes Slayers "Herohammer the army" it would be pure kino.
1 megagargant vs like 3 dwarves
>>96220542It doesn't realy metter though. Every copy of musician/banner might as well be a generic dude. Only the OG ones metter.
>>96220434>Juggerlord still has a year left in him before he gets taken out to pastureFuck yeah. Gonna take my sweet prince out for as many outings as I can manage until then. Gonna make my local meta fear the 2+ saves.
>>96220531the game really doesn't need a new army, if it has to be death I put it 50/50 between soulblight & obr.
Soulblight because they're an evergreen faction and the most popular death one, though I have no idea what it would be since just about all their units are refreshed at this point.
OBR because they haven't really gotten much and the way the army is now really doesn't live up to the fluff. I don't believe they're intended to be like less than 20 models on the board hyper elite. Think of it as Flesh eaters before Ushoran, they played completely different with a focus on monster mash. I'll say this a million time but it's completely inane that they don't have ranged infantry when they're Nagash's military force.
I doubt NH because they were already on 2e, and I doubt FEC because I don't think they're that popular but I still think more of a chance than NH, and they could do with new ghouls & flayers/horrors.
Vampirates could happen as well, but I think it would be more like undead pirates with a focus on deadwalkers, than straight up vampires.
>>96220531It's insanly blantantly the easy to paint Death faction that has no upcoming releas planned unlike every other Death faction this edition. Your specific proposal is retarded in it's own league
>>96220598Someone's pet run off
>>96220531Mortarch: Lady of Flesh
Faction: Deadwalkers (finally the zombie faction)
Units: Tesla Frankensteins, Undead zombie necros, amalgam of flesh
Is the thing that lacks in Death
>>96220477Adding onto this, my best guesses for releases for 4e boxes
2026:
Ogres (extremely likely)
Cities (I give it 50/50)
2027:
Lumineth/Sylvaneth/OBR/Tzeentch/Kruleboyz/DoK in that order of likelihood.
>>96220531hopefully its exactly whatever you don't want the most.
>>96220557The rules are so minor as to already be functionally irrelevant. Be glad the days of them doing something arbitrary between units, sometimes being as powerful as adding literaly run and charge, are gone.
I'm so tired of people saying this game doesnt need new factions or that what should be released is Malerion when Death and Destruction specially the later are literally half the armies.
>>96220619Thanks anon, you're right, I should invest time in what I already have instead of another Helsmith tier disappointment.
>>96220635What people mean is all your OC ideas for Death factions are shit and Destruction is actually like 8-9 factions badly pretanding to be 4
>>96220571Well their current attempt at the herohammer army with blades of khorne is complete overpowered ass disaster that should be immediately nerfed and giants trackrecord is barely better, so they aren't trustworthy at it yet.
>>96220635THe issue is not Death and Destruction being small, its Order being bloated, you could easily for example, move Sylvaneth to destruction, or Idoneth to death
>>96220648Is it really that overpowered?
>>96220635It's just going to be like that though, even if they eventually add more Destruction or Death armies, they're never gonna be as numerous as Order or Chaos. There is no timeline where we get 8-9 Destruction armies.
GW has never cared about symmetry either, look at 40K. Xenos is a footnote compared to Imperium and Chaos and they like it that way.
>>96220646>Destruction is actually like 8-9 factions badly pretanding to be 4????
>>96220651We need to move some fucking elves armies to the gulag.
>>96220666Kruleboyz and Ironjawz, Wolfgits, spiderfags and Night goblins
>>96220666Every book other than SoB is some amalgam of subfactions that share a species and nothing else and mostly don't work with eachother in gameplay or lore (often both)
>>96220648Wait, the gorechosen aor is actually considered overpowered? I mean, yeah, the army rules it gives you are completely hilariously retarded, but they all go on little 5"-moving dudes and only the one guy has any control score to speak of, and none of them hit all that hard even with crit mortals.
>>96220635It's exactly the death and destruction armies that are the reason I don't want new armies. I'm surprised chorfs came out with basically every major archetype but at least half of destruction and death are still micro armies and need to be developed further. Even nighthaunt is mostly foot heroes and infantry.
>>96220674Beastcalw were their own faction and their Mad Max always on the road lore is practically incompatible with footsloggers
>>96220666people can't deal with any factions that aren't boring monodesign, mono-species apparently. Fucking Stormcast has more variety than ironjaws.
>>96220615I don't think zombies can really stand on their own as a faction, especially when ghouls compete for a kind of similar look.
>>96220618Nurgle and cos are the most likely additions this edition, with I guess ogres also being on the table now.
>>96220666I assume he means gitz being split into moonclan/gitmob, and warclans into ironjawz/kruleboyz. But after that it's kind of weird, you could see beastclaw as their own thing like in 1st edition i guess ?
>>96220681They hit hard as fucking hell when you have 3 or 4 of them base to base and they're getting Scarring Blade and Bloodsecrator.
>>96220690>fucking by far the largest army in the game has more variety than some other faction
>>96220666Goblins is actually wolf dudes, moonclan, and trolls.
Warclans is KB and Ironjawz.
Ogres is just ogres, no the forced split of BCR and mawtribes never made since it was their retarded 1st edition micro faction push.
Gargants are just gargants
>>96220701I could see that, the leaker had mentioned nurgle getting a bit more, and I could see them squeezing 3 boxes in a year. Haven't really compared to 40k or last edition to see the most boxes in a year but we are getting 3 for this year so maybe that's the pattern (with 2027 being 5e so only 2 boxes that year).
But damn I want some tzeentch chaos warrior & chosen units badly.
>>96220716correct and? Adding more units doesn't create that effect, KO get more units that are nearly identical to skywardens and a hero identical to the derigible suit. IJ expansion was yet another pig rider and yet another unit of brutes, now with no shirts.
>>96220705Do they, really? I assume a meta list would run mostly deathbringers or mighty lords, but the deathbringer seems like the best choice, he's one of the cheapest and gets a lot from crit mortal with his D3 weapon. But 4 of those guys are still 480 points, and lets assume the scarred blade is giving them +2 attacks and the bloodsecrator is popping his once per game, they're doing 7 attacks each (across 4 activations, so if you're fighting something really dangerous you might lose a dude or two in between) so that's 28 3+/3+/-1/3 crit mortal attacks. Yeah, pretty damn punchy, but nothing really special for a bunch of dudes that move 5" and it needs a once per game ability and a 3+ roll. A 10 chosen brick or their weight in grandhammer annihilators hits way, way harder and is around the same ballpark in terms of points. Yeah, they got their little special rule doing damage too, but really doesn't seem anything truly special. The khorne dudes are probably tankier, they have less wounds but the 4+ ward and the 5+ stand back up probably makes killing them an absolute pain in the ass. Still not really seeing what makes them so OP, the whole army will basically consist of around 4 of these bricks with some minor variations and their total control score has to be less than 25 once the CS dude drops (and anyone with a brain will prioritize killing him).
>>96220745Yeah pestigors specifically were mentioned iirc?
I agree about tzeentch, theoretically they're the chaos faction I like the most but their models are a bit meh. Tzaangor are decent and all but it's not why people are into tzeentch (I think). Some chosen equivalents would be nice. And an update for some of the old demons.

man I never knew how good we have it
here's my collection of nurgle dudes. mostly mortals. the 2 blightlords, a GUO, and a rotmire creed are yet to be painted
Glottkin 510
harbinger of decay 150
lord of afflictions 180
lord of plagues 110
lord of blights 140
bilepiper 100
spoilpox scrivener 90
GUO 480
Blightkings x10 380
plaguebearer x10 140
rotmire creed x10 130
Solo blightlord x1 130
Pusgoyle blightlords x2 220
I also have 3 beasts of nurgle and a rotbringer sorcer that I printed. 130 points on the beast and 110 on the sorcerer but I don't think they fit in with what I got since the beasts seem to want a horticulus for support and the sorcerer only has 1 cast and just gives -1 to ward saves. The plague cyst formation that makes your mortals explode and deal mortal wounds on death looks fun, but I think the Taliban formation that gives +1 to disease mortals is more reliable. are ten blightkings enough for a mortal nurgle army? I heard the cavalry formation is strong but it seems kind of boring in comparison, but I would be open to trying it. I love my glottkin and I think my lord of afflictions with the new charging enhancement as a general would give me some laughs.
Can somebody help me turn this mass into a proper army and help me plan what I need to buy/print and paint next?
>>96220783You use skullgrinders, the wound count is insane with 6w 3+ 4++ with hate-fuelled which can proc multiple times on the same guy raw. Reinforced annihilators don't have 48 effective wounds with wards. The whole list is over 200 wounds with the ward save before the reincarnation spam. Having to split attacks between them to try and efficiently kill them is impossible. There is going to be a warmonger icon somewhere in a little group of them making it impossible to charge them with something expensive. They'll start winning tournaments soon, there's no reason to argue over it. We've seen this crap before with immortis guard and to a lesser degree trolls.

>wouldn't mind half Ogor women for CoS>haha maybe if you're blind!
>>96220872I do think you're overreacting here. The army has zero mobility and incredibly low control scores. Yes, it's tanky and somewhat punchy (but skullgrinders are far worse at dealing damage than deathbringers, that 4+ to hit can be crippling, just ask any SoB player, and you can't even really mitigate it with all-out attack because the attacks are spread out across so many units) but they really are slow as fuck and it's basically impossible for them to secure more than a single objective with any degree of certainty, you can't do any screening and you have zero flexibility, no fast units at all.
>>96220869Their strongest unit is now Rotigus, basically mandatory. Stick him midboard with 20 plaguebearers and a piper. LoA is good with reinforced bugs. 2 by 5 kings with LoB+witherstave is good. Harbinger prayers are really good. Maggothlords are good, particularly Nurgling guy with reinforced nurglings. DP is good. Play a midboard block and two or three flanking packages.
>>96220867Yet we have people here desperate to foster that kind of moderation. Never give them any ground.
>>96220959Lol. Moderation here is even more power tripping, They just have an opposit goal of derailing instead of keeping things on track

>>96220937Screen for what, they charge you they die. You have 18 dudes with 11 skullgrinders, which you run them because they're cheaper. Just run up the board and make your opponent figure out the gigabrain math of splitting attacks into 4 msu high save 4+ ward models that revive on 5+, and they avg like 6 damage vs a 3+ with just +2 attacks which they'll have every turn. And one blob is unfightable because they're all on demand fight first. One of them has fucking megagarant control score on a tiny dude 4" behind that can't be shot.

No wonder the army set was such a disaster

>>96221621Yeah there's a reason gitmob hype died practically overnight when we found out about rules and prices. The two sunstealer chariots are also at like 70 euros. Gw chariots are expensive in general honestly, but these are ever so slightly worse.
But the snarlboss is another level. 80 euros for a fat goblin on a medium sized chariot. Come on.
>>96221643>>96221658Just saw this which really just shows just how ridiculous it is.
>>96221788It's fuckin dumb, I'm hoping GW realizes it's dumb and doesn't double down but EHhhHhHhH we'll see. It didn't pay off this time but I imagine they'll try again.
>>96221621The more i look at this models the more i ask myself: Why don't give them the chance to be their own thing?
>>96221792because gw has no confidence in them being popular enough on their own and no plans to support them going forward
>>96221791>I'm hoping GW realizes it's dumb and doesn't double downThey'll just charge more money for the next kit. You'll buy it anyways is their motto.
>>96220683Chorfs had dual build options for basically every kit which I was pleasantly surprised by. I had the feeling they were slowly cutting down on that but glad to see I was wrong. It really helps flesh out the army, even if it's only a little.
>>96221802Even crazier side by side, on the left is like 37 euros (already high) and on the right is 80 lol. Not bad sculpts or anything but that price...
>>96221311the bone tithe nexus is pretty awesome but holy shit it's impractical and was definitely made with 2e placement rules in mind.
other than that I wish I could get my hands on withfate tor and I unironically like the magewrath throne.
>>96221922I've had the witchfate sitting around for a bit and I'm still back and fourth on keeping it since it's just so fucking much to paint. But it's also sick as fuck and GW hasn't put it out again.
And Magewrath is fuckin' cool, I'm using that as my ghoul throne alternative.
>>96221945looks pretty sick and totally works, glad I scooped up that ghoul king model as well. Like the choice of skin color, very distinct. Haven't started my ghouls up yet but looking at a warm off white or a desaturated green, thinking mortarian grime over an off white.
>>96222121I originally was aiming for them to be much more pale but honestly the minty green wound up looking nice so I stuck to it. I still got like... 20 I think cryptguard I left like half finished and an unbuilt ghoul block that I dread to start. I got 2 terrorgheists and Ushorann alongside my heroes done that feels fine.... Shit I have morbhegs I gotta finish too...
>>96221945>>96222121Still funny that the ghoul king was a rumour engine for close to 3 years and just ended up being a commemorative model lmao. Wonder if they end up doing something for the scrapped spider incarnate just to get it out of the way. Surely they'll have to address it at some point?
>>96221897>>96221802Surely you could kitbash the right model out of the left kit and some plasticard and a bigger base. There isn't anything the right model does that the left doesn't also do
>>96222153I hate event exclusive models so much it's unreal
>>96222334Eh, this one is pretty bad, normal flamekeeper is much cooler looking
>>96222415It's a runesmiter and variety is nice. I really like his beard.
But yeah in the grand scheme of things it's not a huge loss.
>>96222334>I hate event exclusive models so much it's unrealOh shit is he exclusive? I think I saw one for 8 bucks at my FLGS case, picked up a few random slayer heroes and the pizza oven for funsies the other day.
>>96222334You'd think GW would want more people to spend money on models instead of limiting them and never making them available again.
>>96222497Indeed
Thankfully we have recasters.
>>96222334Agreed
What's up with fyreslayers and the key motif anyway
>>96222806Its a symbol of aqshy, also they live in the underground holds that are supposed to be closed to everyone else, so its probably a symbol of that
>>96222806It's a symbol of aqshy and thus fire, they also unlock their urgold vaults. And also why not, it looks cool.
>>96222334Should this one be the general aesthetic for FS?
>>96222877It is? It's perfectly in line with their other heroes, besides the mask guy clearly done by a different sculptor
>>96222497desu i think othar is kinda meh, especially compared to old wight king, but I agree they should make it more available.
>>96222877You know that's just a Runsmiter but without the full mask?
>>96222497>>96222524It's called Fear Of Missing Out.
Buy now! Buy buy buy before you no longer can.
>>96222946It clearly wants to be a Knight of Shrouds and would work great as such
>>96222978But majority of those models CAN'T be bought now because they only give them out on some events
>>96222971I always get the impression people never look at the range beyond the vulkites even though all the heroes are amazing sculpts.
>>96222978But that's the thing, I can't even buy them!
>>96222988>>96223003Sounds like a personal problem.
>>96222978Let me buy them. I would pay for actual quality but you force me to not.
>>96222997I hadn't seen any of em in person until yesterday and the heroes and dragons look sick as fuck, I just wish the infantry didn't look absolute shit.
Speaking of Fyreslayers, the first chunk of my army is scheduled to arrive in the mail tomorrow. Incredibly excited and I have been working on their backstory and paint scheme while I eagerly wait. Nothing like worldbuilding between sets and getting into that Fyreslayer muscle mindset. /Blog
>>96223052They look good to great though.
>>96222806People who like dwarves are into kingdom hearts
Since we have the Chaos Chorfs and Hobgrots in the same army, do you think it would be possible to have the AoS version of the Black Orcs in the future and if so, how would you imagine them to be?
>>96223203We have those they are called "Ironjawz"

>>96223140These guys never really sold me on them, I feel like it's a bit clunky and silly, I always imagine them being a bit more jumpy and crazy. They feel comparatively static. I think the later stuff and heroes still look great though and will probably pick up any remainders for 8 bucks.
>>96223203Iโm honestly expecting a army of renown that lets chorfs take orruks in
>>96223203They would be diminutive if anything. Anyway, Chorfs do not endorse slavery they just humiliate their employees they have a symbiotic relationship with because AoSification
>>96223138So what's your lodge and color scheme anon
>>96222330Better yet, with a single kit you could have 3 or 4 wolves so it looks even more distinct
>>96222806aqshy's symbol is a key, so meme magic means that the aqshy dwarfs would develop a key as symbol regardless of whether they knew the symbol of aqshy was a key
in their specific case they rationalize the importance of the keys because they open the vaults of ur-gold deep in their holds
yeah, the giant keyblade axe also works as a real key for a big door
>>96223233Almost every bit on those models is interchangeable and you pay a bit of a price for that, also in a samey army they need to make the other guys look better.
I still think they're really neat though.
>>96223293Their god is THE god Aqshy, who inherited it's magic and was formed in the realm. Even if they didn't provide justification independently that would be enough
>>96223300That is a fair point, they're the basic infantry so I can't hate too much. I can see what GW was going for but realistically a bit more robes or some pants (sacrilege I know) would make them more appealing to me at least.
>>96223300You're neglecting to mention that the entire body and arms are one piece, the hands and heads are the interchangeable bits.
They all look the same regardless of what combination is used because most of the model is set in stone
>>96223279It is a /yourdudes/ lodge in Shyish. Certainly not the best place to live of course, but that is where they ended up after a Runeson left Aqshy to form his own lodge with the blessing of his Father. They currently have some trade and communication with Urlang and Ulrung, but for most of the Lodge's history they were trapped after the uzkull-krunken imprisoned them in their hold.
The Fyreslayers are albino levels of pale between the influence of the realm and being trapped underground for so long. They favor a mix of bright oranges and darker greens in their limited attire.
>>96223301the god of aqshy doesn't get a lesson about the elven runes for the winds of magic
also grimnir was never the incarnate of fire and is not the god of the realm like sigmar is the god of azyr and alarielle the goddess of ghyran
>>96223315Yeah that's no small task when said heads have huge beards and crests that would block most poses.
>>96223331The slayer king received Grimnir's power and died, so it obviously returned to him?
Grimnir is dead but he would be if not surely.
>>96222855>>96222868>>96223293Thanks anons, never made the Aqshy/key connection.
>>96222997Noticed that too while scrolling through the range the other day, the heroes actually look good. The mask on the runesmiter is great.
>>96223138>>96223326Good shit anon, good luck with your fyreslayers.
>>96223352The beards are all jutting forwards and confined to torso width, which is also why they look so samey
Face it, we were just about the first AoS army and suffer from WHFB design sensibilities
>>96223233Out of all the 1st ed minis, those guys definetly need a second chance, the dude from Silver tower looked stellar and thats like a year after
>>96223372>The slayer king received Grimnir's powerNo, he just got the wind of fire, and then died, the wind of fire going to an elf later
grimnir's power went to gotrek
>>96223378>Good shit anon, good luck with your fyreslayers.Thank you, Anon!
>>96223404I just want the ranged profiles back on everyone who had them and the return of the Slingshield throw from older editions. 2E had my favorite incarnation of it.
>>96223203Well, I think they should have a higher status than hobgrots, comparable to the dwarves themselves. They should be very disciplined and loyal to the Chaos Dwarves. They should be a ranged attack unit, not a melee unit. They should carry advanced equipment such as firearms. Finally, they should not have green skin, perhaps white or grey.
>>96223511>favorite incarnation of ityeah, classic dwarf +1 save standing ground but you could change mw on a 6 if you did charge which was evocative of both the old and new
>>96222806It's because they're keyed (formerly based)
>>96222334That guy shares a lot of posing and design cues with the new votann dude, I wonder if they were done by the same dude
guess someone bought the rest of the fyreslayer heroes, did pick up this guy for 2 bucks I guess they stashed him into some of the generic infantry.
Side note, what the fuck are the little wands these guys are using? Do they shoot fire, are they a weapon, a little totem?
>>96223610I would assume its a religious staff.
But to me it seems like a goedentag, a german short spear.
>>96223697"They also carry a runic war-iron in their off hand that absorbs slivers of their rampant energy as they fight, allowing them to become more powerful even as they sustain wounds that should weaken them. "
I guess a magic staff kinda?
>>96223610Looking at his warscolls over the years it's a Runic War Iron.
Initially it powered its damage up by +1 if he killed stuff with it + improved his rolls if he got hit.
Later they consolidated the abilities so he powers himself up by +1 or +2 if he got hit
>>96223610Additionally, for a short guy that just has an axe, having pike and a hook is anything but shortsighted (but why not attach it to the axe itself then)
>>96223743Aren't these guys like the actual slayers from WHF where they're just trying to get killed fighting stuff?
>>96223748They are not going to make it easy tho, wanting to die in a glorious fight, doesnt mean to not be practical about fighting
WIP and changing my white on the next set of guys but I actually really like how it's coming along.
>>96223856Looks good anon. What's the recipe for the orange?
>>96223862Monument pro acryl orange straight. I'm not paid by them but I will shill for their paints being good as fuck
>>96223567There are no similarities other than both being dwarfs and both having a rather static pose
>>96223610I think Fyreslayers look great and with little teawks the army could be impressive. Is a shame since the first edition and microfaction hopes they are waiting their turn.
>>96223884Pro acryl tit white is so nice if you haven't tried it. Their warm gold(can't remember the name rn) is a pretty smooth alternative to retributor armour
>>96223897Just need to come up with ways to make each infantry unit a bit more distinct. Spinning slayers into a faction was a good idea but they stayed too close to the source.
>>96223963They're adding a Slayers army of infamy to The Old World! They are making a second army that's all Slayers! That alone should be proof that they could flesh out Fyreslayers if they wanted to.
>>96223999Oh they could, I just fear Fyreslayers are slowly sinking into the same mud as Beasts of Chaos:
>Updating this army wouldn't be cost-efficent because no-one plays them.>No-one plays this army because we haven't updated them.
>>96223944>>96223884Seconding this, I replaced pretty much my whole workflow with proacryl these days, it's amazing. I personally prefer bright ivory to titanium white (though I have both) as it's just a bit less chalky and mixes better. That said It is somewhat warmer hue.
Also posting wip on the cities cathay. Bronze sentinel with carved jade inlays
>>96224019It's the year of dwarf, GW won't squat Fyreslayers yet.
>>96223944yeah i'm switching to their white ivory and i believe that's the gold i have too.
>>96224044this is so unbelieably sexy and giving me the will to keep painting today.
>>96224019Beast were such a weird decision. They never gave any support to the army then everyone is just waiting to support to actually play it but they consider that as "not enough customers" is pure madness man.
>>96224044Cathay just looks so impressive man...
>helsmiths of hashut
>not HORNS of HASHUT
GW isn't going to include the warcry team Horns of Hashut in the CD army as human followers/slaves are they. Man. The one thing they were really doing right was addin in the myriad slaves like knobgobblers and humans to the chorf borg, my ideal army where the god of fire and darkness just gobbles them all up.
>>96214999Death is?

>>96215304>>96214869 (OP)>>96215397>How would (you) expand the Sons of Behemat range? What you really need is fully take-apartable walled terrain. "Stormhost castle under siege: the terrain set" and then have a mega gargant on the box knocking the walls down. Only 300 USD.
>>96216245Stench just kind of sucks. Even in 40gay most of their models are old and dated from 2016 while DG constantly gets new stuff and WE/EC both got their releases in the past 2 years so are still fresh. Only Thousand Sons/Tzeentch is forgotten, or given stuff that looks 'off'. And Tzaangors. All those tzaangors in both AoS and 40k. They should be their own faction.
>>96224019>>Updating this army wouldn't be cost-efficent because no-one plays them.>>No-one plays this army because we haven't updated them. The same logic behind leaving dark eldar in the dust in 40k. Though supposedly the DE will get a bunch of Corsair kits to share with the Eldar.
>>96224081>>96224164Beastmen were squatted to punish the players for spurning Tzaangors
>>96224172And I'd do it again, Tzaangors are trash.
>>96223999Slayer army was a thing back then too, there was a special karak kadrin army list.
People love slayers, people want armies of all slayers, that has awlays been the case, the "ooh they all look the same" is not really an argument people make in real life, because most people want their toy soldiers to be in the same theme.
The only issue fyreslayers have is that they are a conventional army, with a small roster of mid to bad infantry regiments, instead of being a herohammer
>>96223999I think it depends since the Slayers AoI is based on the Karak Kadrin army with its models from 2006 like the guys with the whirling chain axes or the thing that throws axes into goblin heads or Long Drong and his Slayer Pirates. It is easy to reprint old models and repackage them, it is harder to devise and make new molds.
>>96224172>You WILL play tzaangors and you WILL like themGW NO!
>>96224177If they were just one flavor unit they'd be fine but they're effectively a whole subfaction, taking away energy from other ones. They even got a detachment in 40k now all to themselves. The fuck is up with their fetish for tzaangors, it's just weird.
>>96224181I think to some degree they might also suffer from lacking heroes and big lore like the Votann in 40k. They push into dwarfs, but then lack inspiration for what to make. That new Votann thane looks cool, the one with the tyranid trophies on his armour. Fyreslayers could have a big centerpiece guy "Mograin Bakrazi, berserker of the Gronti mountains" leaping off a dead gargant's severed head while yelling loudly with a big axe held aloft like he's about to chop another giant's head off. And give him good stats otherwise he will suck.
>>96224172I hate HATE Tzaangors. Look how EVERY other Chaos armies, those well done at least, don't have more than 1 Beast unit.
Beast of Chaos were a great army. Punish Tzeentch to be a bird army here and in 40k when is the god with more possibilities in the setting is just plain lazyness
>>96224212They have Gotrek, hes universal, but very fyreslayer coded with his new axe and shoulderpad
>>96224219this, i still can't believe after so many years what they give to thousand sons was a pair of horrible robot chickens.
Please keep deriding Tzaangors it only makes the unused sprues being sold at game stores (from TS players who bought bundle boxes and don't want them) cheaper for me
>>96224212>I think to some degree they might also suffer from lacking heroes and big lore like the Votann in 40k. They push into dwarfs, but then lack inspiration for what to make.My fellow Chorf players will hate me, but K'daai constructs would fit right in with Fyreslayers.
Take a page out of Votann second wave making a bunch of Lava Golems with Ur-Gold runes.
>>96224236if you look at the back of those guys, it looks like the model hasnt left the block-out stage
>>96224241Old fantasy dwarves had Rune Golems (never had models tho), a golem made from wrought iron, brazier style, with fire inside would be kino
>>96224241i dont think thats out of pocket at all, they're known to summon fire and magma elementals.
>>96224260>a golem made from wrought iron, brazier style, with fire inside would be kinowe literally just got that last week
>>96224275wrong army tho.
was very shortsighted on gw side
>>96223549It felt really good in use. People meme about Fyreslayers, but their rules have had a lot of flavor and are consistently interesting if not the most tournament optimal since 1e.
>>96223610The Doomseeker is so cool, such a nice sculpt. I've been eyeing it and the Grimwrath Berserker to add to my Fyrd.
>>96223999Pretty hyped about that. I have my old WHFB stuff but the Dwarf line has me looking to start a Mountain Holds army, probably after I finish my Fyreslayers.
>>96224229Isn't the shoulderpad specifically from some random cities of sigmar guy (or was it stormcast?) he was working with who got murdered in Realmslayer
>>96224275>>96224278They could easily make an automata that is distinctively Fyreslayer while stile showing a shared ancestry with the Chorf robit.
Like, the Fyreslayer robit is what it looked like before the Chorfs went all in on bull heads and burning Daemons for fuel.
>>96224376I feel like a giant lava robot with like... Axes on chains for hands, could have a giant fire spout mohawk. I'm shocked we haven't gotten an "Avatar of Grimnir" but I guess that's just Gotrek at this point.
>>96224397I think I've pitched this before, even before the Chorf automata was revealed, but the FS automata should have a shield. That would make it visually clear it exists to defend the Magmahold. As opposed to the Chorf one, which exists to destroy.

>>96224240I think tzaangors are neat. One day I'll get a bunch of them cause they're a blast to paint
>>96224275If this thing is an attempt to attract daemon engine fans to the army, it definitely isn't working on me
Anyone else feel like these zombies are more like parodies of zombies than actual zombies? Like why the fuck do they have roots growing through them and some of them have floor boards and shit on their backs? One of them looks to be carrying a gravestone.
>>96224547they're related to the cursed city zombies, in sigmarland you nail corpses down into coffins or stake them so they don't get out. The roots I guess are just to imply they've been underground and overgrown.
I don't hate it, realistically if it's an issue you could probably just snip the roots off, I was thinking about that but figured I kinda dig it. (heh)
>>96224547the implication is that they were dead and buried, but then a vampire or a necromancer commanded them to rise from their graves
>>96224547The visual implication is that it was an (obviously flawed) attempt to bury corpses in a way that would prevent them from rising
>>96224547This is just me being cynical but it looks like a bunch of mandated extra detail to give people at least one reason to choose buying these over any other generic zombie sculpt.
>>96217809Kruleboyz are some of those models where you don't realise how good they look until you see them in person. I think dull green and brown default colour scheme dosn't do them much justice. I never thought I'd be collecting swamp niggers but I got my hands on a unit of Boltboyz but I had so much fun building them I became a convert
posting WIP of my frigate over the past week. this thing is a nightmare to hold while painting, especially since I've already painstakingly finished the white and don't want to touch it with my slimy hands and screw it up.
Thankfully, the magnet baron holder is a nice little nub i can grasp and not care about the paint peeling off of it.
cant wait for my Floating Box to arrive. love that stupid thing so much.
>>96224615You fool you attached the flight stand before it was finished?! But looking good so far, I always liked Kharadron myself but never quite could wrap my head around what color scheme i'd want and how to paint them.
>>96219182Ironweld arsenal Dwarfs sure, the Dispossed should maintain there old aesthetic, theyre refugees from fallen dwarf holds hanging on to their old culture.
>>96224619Well, it's all magnetic so I can remove the glass part and just hold it by that little golden piece on the bottom that it attaches to. Also I haven't glued the balls on yet. Think I'd do harmful things to myself if I were trying to paint this thing fully assembled.
>I always liked Kharadron myself but never quite could wrap my head around what color scheme i'd want and how to paint themcan't go wrong with white gold and blue, my friend. Really any old naval ship color scheme works.
