GK are still secret that maybe Librarians and chapter captains know, marines are mind wiped after fighting near GK.
But yes GK should be specialist support who just get in banish big bad daemon, close warp rift and go on their merry way leaving normal forces to fight rest of the battle.
They even kinda operated this way on Armageddon, bulk of fight was done by Wolves and Guard only for 100 GK to teleport in front of Angron.
I think what GK are got lost in 5th ed warddex.

Would GW allow a dev to make a "digital adaptation of tabletop", not exact 1:1, modified slightly to be better for a vidya, but the general core rules, abbilities, model count etc. would still be there. And featuring army customization where you can paint troops, add decals, helmets/hairs whatever to make your dudes how you want em to be.

Well again, as long as you are making sure not to infringe on their IP rights you're good. The mechanics they use in their games are not unique by any stretch, so unless you literally copy names and titles for your game they have no argument. If GW had that tight a hold on the kind of rules 40k has, Bolt Action wouldn't exist.

Is it me or are 6 man Outriders w/Chaplain really strong in Blood Angels? Thats a lot of buffs you can stack on them. Spend 2cp and you've got 36 attacks with strength 7, +1 to wound, Lance, and Lethal hits. They also have a stratagem that lets them fall back shoot and charge.

I tried the sponge technique for putting chiping damage on one of my marines for the first time and it didn't seem to come out right. I'm not sure if I used the wrong kind of foam for the process, if Mechanicus gray isn't dark enough for it to stand out strongly enough, or what. I was on the leg of my Blood Angel. The foam is from a bag of extra pillow cushion that I could add if I wanted it to be firmer.

As someone who learned DE first many years ago they are definitely one of the harder factions to learn to play but you will learn the fundamentals better than any other faction. Getting horrifically punished for not having perfect positioning or not recognizing threat ranges or not assigning enough damage across multiple phases to the right kind of enemy to ensure a kill and not get hit back will make you far, far better at playing venturing forward into more forging armies with some solid defenses. You also learn a lot more careful resource management and how to exploit every tiny advantage you can get through tricks of the mechanics and you especially learn how to trade and sacrifice every unit when necessary to secure the win.

A lot of that list is skewed because of how well knights (both flavours; also to a lesser extent DG) are doing currently. Ork were in a not great spot before but now knights, an army orks are extremely weak to, are dominating the meta orks are in the dumpster.
Similar with EC, Death Watch, dark and blood angels, guard, custodes, and black templars.
Though weirdly, Tau and Admech are higher than they should be normally because they are ok-ish counters to knights but bad into everything else. As soon as knights get nerfed those two go right back down to the bottom.

I'm basing this entirely on my uninformed impressions, but it would probably need to be at least 2 assassins per gk.
