Votann having a full range now is pretty cool. Its also pretty well thought through I got everything needed and a surprising amount of characters. But the points per unit in the codex are so fucking retarded I have seen comments that people who got almost 3k points of Votann are not down to 2k.

I have never found a smoke or fire effect I liked, either sculpted or player added. I really hate liquid effects that are sculpted on, the sculpt for the Lt. w/combi weapon has that goop on his knife that's meant to look like tyranid blood but looks like he stuck it in jam. For water or liquids I will use a Vallejo water product or epoxy for large applications, and while some people can make it look good or use it to make really cool effects I use it exclusively for basing or diorama work

Depends on the detachment. Reapers and SSA have different strengths and goals. Either way though you basically need to have perfect threat assessment on how much you need to commit to kill enemy units without getting slapped back at all because you will disintegrate even understand basic bolter fire. And you have nothing that can hold primary so instead you have to play to deny enemy primary scoring while trying to outpace them on secondaries. Dark Lances are kind of just for softening up targets for melee town cleanup. Haywire is where the really killer damage comes from for clearing big hulls. Your best shooting units all hit on 4s though (Scourges) so you have to rely on melee to finish the job

Nah, KT rules are going to keep evolving and they will require homebrew to play. It's like saying you can play the 3E Witchfinders codex in 10E. If you are saying homebrew everything, sure I guess. But Kill Team is a different community that doesn't really work like that. My KT scene is fairly competitive and there isn't really a reason to keep any one old team alive when we have 40 other KTs to choose from and 2 coming out every 3-5 months. And it's also reasonable on GW's part desu. Having rules support for 100+ teams is kind of insane.

Were I GW and I wanted to follow the current trends.
1. Re-release the intercessor kit with mixed armor marks and reduce the amount of scopes/rifle bits.
We're not going back to the 'three gun' era for them so free up sprue space for extra helmets or sarge bits.
If we're feeling frisky, work in combi-weapons alongside the grenade launcher so you get a pseudo-tactical squad with underslung weapons on one/two models.
I don't see them going back down the tactical route at this point.

2. Replace the Hellblaster kit and do generally the same thing.
Work in mixed armor marks, cut down on the various gun bits to save sprue space, and make it a dual kit for Hellblaster/Infernus Marines.

The plastic kit had the two basic loadouts and the venerable has plasma but no missiles. Melta only existed in the black reach model and all the other guns were FW. I would love a new kit that comes with at least all the non-FW guns. They could even do like the 30k dreads and make one basic dread and two sets of weapons you can buy separately, one for the normal dread and one for the mortis.
