1 man encased in steel tomb acting as both a shield and a prison? I guess Voltron? You’ll have 1 unit protected from everything but will never get to attack with him, you’ll spend hundreds of dollars in full art swords of X/Y knowing that as soon as you move to equip sword your commander is going to get swords to plowshared for the 5th time. Appeal to the table all you want about the blue player (the tyranids) drawing 50 cards, no one will listen, you have a 4/4 that’s was about to become a 6/6 that’s so much more scary.

Alright /edgh/, you seem to fancy yourselves quite the deckbuilders so I have a challenge for you.

This is a decklist and list of cards I found in my bulk that all vaguely center around the theme of "vampire", your challenge is to build the most functional EDH deck out of this list and explain how you're meant to win.
The rules are simple, use the cards provided within the mainboard or sideboard, if additions are needed your budget is 25$ (TCGplayer price)
Lets see how you do:

Since we're talking about Vampire decks, I'd love some opinions on mine
https://moxfield.com/decks/Hz0U2kM2Jka4-mWHgqdC6w
The theme is Vampires and Angels, and the goal is to combine Warstorm Surge triggers with lifelink creatures and Sanguine Bond effects. Cheap or free lifegain e.g. Venser's Journal can make Licia cost only Mardu, then I can use fight effects on her and something else which would make her deal damage so I gain more life, then she's still cheap to cast if she dies. The next turn I need a big boost to make her cheap and kick things off again, but another lifelink creature or upkeep lifelink gain can help with that.
What I want your opinion on is do I have enough cheap card draw, and enough interaction, and is there anything else obvious I'm missing? I feel like I have a good amount of draw spells but still might benefit from things like Revitalise, which you'll see in the Considering section.
Finally, you'll see there are a few silly spells like Heroes Remembered. Obviously it would be a better deck if I cut them, but I don't really want to. Thanks for reading.

If your deck has an actual gameplay strategy such as a commander that facilitates playing a certain type of creature, its probably not bracket 1. Broadly I think the best way to consider Bracket 1 is the level where decks are not actually being built. The example of chair or hat tribal is funny, but at any level beyond a joke its just vocabulary to describe "a pile that does not even perform at the level of a precon". You can make that intentionally and even have fun at it, but knowing what a one is will be most important when you are building a 2 in the same sense that knowing what a 5 is is most important when you are building a 4.

Oh sweet summer child, you’ve just cracked open the simplest nut in all of Magic: The Gathering, and you’re already asking questions like a seasoned planeswalker. How adorable. Don’t worryβ€”I’ll explain these terms in a way even someone new like you can almost understand. Maybe.
Aristocrats deck – Ah yes, these are the decks filled with cards of royal lineage. Think King Macar, the Gold-Cursed, Queen Marchesa, and obviously Serra the Benevolent. The strategy? You play nobles, bow before them, and win by collecting taxes from other players. The real power comes from the Estate Tax enchantment, which drains your opponents’ lands if they don't say "my liege" before each combat phase. It's all terribly regal.
Historic deck – So basic. It’s just a deck that only plays cards printed before 1997. You know, back when Magic was still printed on papyrus scrolls. Real decks. None of these flashy new cards with β€œkeywords” and β€œmechanics.” Just good old-fashioned vanilla 2/2s and the occasional Psychic Venom. Bonus points if you play with yellowed sleeves and aggressively sniff your Beta lands for authenticity.
Cantrips deck – Now, this one’s only for the truly elite. A cantrips deck revolves around horses, obviously. "Cantrip" comes from β€œcanter,” the gait of a horse. So these decks run equine-themed cards like Knight of the Stampede, Galloping Lizrog, and of course, the mighty Horseshoe Crab. The key is to gallop past your opponent’s defenses by trotting out creatures that neigh loud enough to cause psychic damage. It's a very equestrian meta.
But hey, you’ll get there. Eventually. Maybe start with a 100-card deck full of basic lands just to practice shuffling first, yeah? Baby steps.

I don't care about magic sets being serious and think the premise of a wacky race is fun. They should have leaned into it more and made the actual cards in the set more interesting and fun.

>Regeneration has historically been a confusing effect. Originally, regeneration was an ability that only could be activated in the damage prevention step, which was a step right after damage was dealt, to save a creature that would otherwise go to the graveyard. It could not be activated or triggered at any other time.
>In the Sixth Edition rules changes, the damage prevention step became obsolete, and damage was no longer "assigned" before being dealt - it was simply dealt. Damage prevention, regeneration, and other spells and abilities that generated replacement effects were now played just like other instants. As such, regeneration had drifted in flavor; instead of regenerating when a creature was about to die, you set a regenerative shield that would save the creature if it otherwise would die that turn.

Shield counters are one use (assuming no proliferation), while indestructible is basically always 'until end of turn'. Which is a lot stronger in a vacuum.

biggest loss at the discontinuation of regenerate, was green - regenerate used to be a green keyword action, and white as a secondary, but they axed it, gave white indestructible as a primary, and to green as a secondary.

Ok- so now the current rules state that regenerating creatures still do combat damage, keep their +1/+1 counters and keep their auras and equipments? That faggot was dead to rights if we followed the actual rules. I used rec sage to force him to pop his oblivion stone to deal with the rest of the table, leaving my thrun with 8 counters on it as the only nonland permanent on the table. He said the counters fell off it when it regenerates and I blindly trusted him because he's the resident lgs rules autist.

I'm still flabbergasted that they said absolutely positively resoundingly NO to making old werewolves daybound. Retards didn't even need to errata the text of the cards, just say "As long someone in your pod isn't an exhausting nerd, you can choose all your werewolves to be Daybound". Even MaRo wanted to errata them in a rare moment of not being a total retard. But nope, rest of the team said "Nope, not how it's gonna work, not even just in Commander." And, knowing that was the case, they printed a bunch of overcosted garbage werewolves and zero 1 mana WW for what can only optimally be a fast go wide aggro deck that they made the face of the set.

Malcom on board means every time a pirate does damage I get a treasure for each opponent that got damage. I attack with Glint-Horn and all 3 opponents get pinged for one and I get a treasure, then I hold prio, use his ability to keep discarding, and generating 3 treasures until there is only one opponent left. Once there I am only getting one, so assuming I didnt get enough extra treasures it wont finish off the last opponent..

Both sets were supposed to be half-sized packs like AC and aftermath, so they know both are going to be kind of shitty in terms of cards. They're not really draftable and they're trying to cover it by shotgunning card spoilers so we don't notice there's like 3 deck types per set
