For sure a horde based Tyranids army, I've always loved the look of them. Without a 3d printer the cost just seems way too high to justify.

I finally have 60 cultists so I feel like I can play Deceptors proper. Managed to find 20 of the old 6th edition starter box cultists to mix in as well so that's awesome and something different as a halfway break from painting the 40 new sculpts I'll need to do (10 done already). After that 20 Blooded are next but I don't think that's going to happen until December.

As established in DoW1.
DoW2 subverted this by pulling Chaos for Nids (at least as being playable, Last Stand included a teaser of Chaos) until the first Expansion, but Chaos was still a much bigger deal than Nids were.
DoW3 was a train wreck, but still maintained Marines, Orks, and Eldar as the major playable factions, with Chaos being a final boss.
Now we're in DoW4, and while Chaos is not shown it's near guaranteed that they'll be the final boss faction again, allowing Adamech to get some spotlight. But now Eldar are gone as well, with Necrons replacing them.

Excited but the art style looks a bit soft and cartoony. Reminds me of the 9th trailer which looked like an Bionicle animation. Obviously the originals weren’t exactly going for photorealistic but they it had a grittiness to the artstyle this appears to lack, at least at the moment.

As for Primaris, it’s whatever. The helmets lack character but it’s far from a deal breaker. More worried at seeing Marvel tier Nercons and le gender neutral toaster Admech.

It really does not matter that much, because there absolutely will be DLCs with the other factions. Just look at pretty much any "recent" 40k strategy game, like Gladius, or Battle Sector. There will be all the races, sooner or later.
The only way this will not happen is if the game flops so hard, that they abandon it right after release, just like that one AoS RTS they did a while ago. I have high hopes for DoW 4, but maybe they indeed learned nothing from DoW3.

Not unless they significantly buff them. There's enough design space to have two weight classes of dreadnoughts, a basic one and a heavy one, but it's ridiculous for the basic boxnought to cost the same points as a ballistus while being worse in literally every aspect. A significant cost reduction and adding dreadnought talons back for them like they could get in 7th or 30k would make them different enough of a niche.

It's too bigger, the new dreadnoughts are nice but apart from just being symptoms of game experiencing early stage Warhammer fantasy deathstar cancer they fulfill different roles. New dreads sit between a predator/gladiator and a repulsor and the old dread could fill a nice spot between a terminator and a predator. Also they're attractive and well loved models so it would be nice to see them stick around. They still need a slight upscale to fit the general one, but that is something I would like to see become true of most older space marine vehicles.

I like anon's idea of putting them in a squad but I would probably limit it to two.

One thing tho: the game seems like a gacha game, but those requisitions are the least reliable and most stupid way to actually get new characters. You are right, and more isn't needed at all, but a 40k RTS is not really comparable with those games, simply because 40k has so many factions, and ideally, they all end up being playable at some point. Hence why Soulstorm was so great, because by then they added pretty much all the races.

For pure RTS-gameplay, the number of races are not important, as long as the 3 or 4 factions that are present are balanced but still different enough to give some interesting playstyles.
But if you collect Eldar armies for 20+ years, and there is no playable Eldar in the game, then its just not the same as if there is an Eldar faction.
