A single powerful creature can win a game. STP at best can only delay the win by a turn or two. You either need to get lucky and deck out your opponent or another way to win the game. STP or any other interaction will not do that for you. Interaction is by definition weaker than creatures unless it is one of the relatively few interactions that can contribute to your win condition. Those however are generally much more expensive than STP, doomblade, or the the typical single target removals.

There's no reason to run it. The decks that benefit most from it now don't even need it. The entire point of running mice over cutter in the Mice/Cutter format was because you can turn 3 the cutter decks. Even without rage, Mice would have been at 40% of the format if there was no mice ban even with a rage ban just because of what the mice package can do.

Emberheart is a 2/2 prowess haste Phyrexian Arena in a deck with Rockface Village and Manifold Mouse. That you have to cast the card that turn is not a meaningful restriction in a hand vomit deck. Manifold Mouse both draws you cards and for some reason has a card advantage kicker mode. Screaming Nemesis is a virtual 2-for-1 against any deck not playing white/black removal that can also turn dead Witchstalker Frenzies into a Lava Axe or Shocks into a 1 mana Planeswalker emblem. its a comparison you retard, companions are a fucking joke in this game and basically completely unplayable, only a single one is really overpowered and thats because of the interactions with broken 0 cost artifacts which themselves should be banned, pretty much every single 0 cost card in the game should be banned, and the game would instantly be fixed.
the problem isn't even companions in every case, its always the other card 0 or 1 cost artifacts that are already busted in other decks, stuff like mishras bauble, urzas bauble etc and all of the mox's need to be banned permanently

also yugiohs issue wasn't even the extra deck, its the fact that there is no summoning sickness so thats a complete other issue.

mono red just kills you turn 2, which is unironically faster than 99% of yugioh games, where the extra deck companion cards are literally coming out turn 1 in one go, why? because in a game with summoning sickness and mana values, giving 2 colours the ability to constantly scam or haste their way past all the other colours results in aggro being extremely dominant all the time, coupled with the very small health pool to power ratio,

ether raise the health to at least 60, or remove prowess, haste on low creatures, and remove all mox's and 0-1 mana artifacts from the entire game.

then everything would be fixed, IN fact most companions would just then be viable, with the meta right now in every format from vintage to standard being completely aggro dominated, cards like yorion never even comes out on 99% of games, in fact even if yorion did not have the 3 mana cost, it still would never be played, since most games against aggro end on turn 3 at most, getting to 5 mana unless you cheat it out like with tron or the eldrazi lands(except they are colourless so they can't even play yorion with them) this results in cards like yorion to be dead weight, and as a result having a much more inconsistent deck is a horrible pay off for a card that you would literally never see play 99% of the time.
