Is Pauper actually in a good spot right now? Sure 70% of the meta is Aggro but no deck makes up more than 10% of the meta. Granted, Mono-U is 14% but that's actually two quite different decks crammed into the same category for some reason.

each thing that causes a stack to be made starts with the active player and goes clockwise. between most phases creates a stack. notably, draw step and main phase does not. combat does, upkeep does, end step does. priority is by default held by the active player, who can cast whatever he wants. casting things, triggers, and activated abilities (not mana abilities) create a stack. mana abilities always resolve first above all else even if its got a bunch of other stupid shit stapled on like lions eye diamond. if it adds mana, its a mana ability. this supercedes even things like split-second. everything that creates a stack passes priority along starting with the active player and going around, with each new spell creating a new stack and passing priority starting with the caster.

most common use of the stack:
planeswalkers will be able to use their abilities once before getting killed by a removal spell. why is because entering the battlefield does not create a stack by itself. meaning that the planeswalkers controller can hold priority and use an ability on the planeswalker before priority passes around.
