Honestly, I love drawfags because they are one of the few ways we can see things in WoD that no one else is making art for.
Like, take that Fomori, Nephandi Wednesday looking family portrait. Not even in my wildest dreams I can see Paradox greenlitting it, especially with their bland ass W5.
There are many things in WoD I would to see drawn, like say Chulorvian Elders. Or sections of the Labyrinth or a dramatic rendetion of the opening of the Mage The Ascension 2nd Edition etc.

I mean, Egypt IS their territory and the one place I'd expect Setites to be a major pest. You can't really divorce Mummies from them either, much less with the shitshow surrounding the Nagaraja and Ghost Enoch. I'm more irked by the fact that AFAIK there is no one clan that has a particular bone to pick with Woofs above the others and it's Setites alone who manage it.

Set actually did things. Is part of the world unlike most other Antes. Like, outside of Transylvania Chronicles, what did Abby do since the First City? By all intents and purposes, he just sat in Antartics or at the depths of the ocean, brooding outside of creating some monsters.
Set before he got killed by Jesus fucked over Silent Striders, fucked over Werecats, fucked over Werelizards, fucked up Mummies and Osiris.

What's the best way to do a JRPG-like thing but not go full Exalted? Is it just Mage but force the party into a Paradigm that's Wuxia-lite? I was thinking Sorcerer since it would focus more on them basically buffing and preparing spells ahead of time for fights and not run the same "It's True Magic I ain't gotta explain shit" deal with Mage, but that just feels like it would be far too limited and end up more like something akin to Witcher where you're just a guy+ instead of being definitely a step above. I'm just not sure how to, mmm, curate Mage the best.

I definitely want to hit the high levels of Mage power, but, very slowly. And base game isn’t really conducive to that unless I put guardrails on everything which at that point why play something as open ended as tabletop

If you want end game stuff you'd be better off trying to your trinity or aberrant for the system that allows for powers to get absurd but is somewhat balanced for it. Although I use that term very loosely. Maybe even 2e scion
World of Darkness for all the discussions about power levels and which splat is the best doesn't actually do well following the traditional zero to hero progression. You're kinda in the position to quickly gain a lot of power or not.

The system for KotE is so bizarrely fixated on limiting the utility of Martial Arts* that it can't really qualify. Of those that show up in the WoD, only what the Shih practice, Kailindo, and Do really manage to get into anything more than the lowest power levels of the genre. To get higher, you'd need to relax a lot, use WoD: Combat, and adapt a lot of Street Fighter material.
* Actually, I know why in context, but it doesn't make it stop being intensely stupid. The fears about game balance and combat in the 90s were a hell of a drug.

It's playable, but it's also kind of shit. The souls states, chi arts and demon arts systems are unnecessarily complex, especially for a book that's goal was to tone down the complexity of the original KotE.
It also nerfs everything across the board in a way that makes it fit better with WoD5 than a 20th edition supplement. Just like wraith 20 or sorcerer 20, playing this in a mixed game is a great way to get curb-stomped by neonate vampires.

Better gank me now before I become even more strong and big!"
If you really want to I'd say -2 to their stuff and reduce penalties by one every week or lunar month depending on what timescale you have planned. Maybe let them spend willpower to have full stats for a scene.

It's been a while since I last read it, but I feel like it's a decent 1st edition of something. Certainly things to iterate on, but generally a decent direction I feel.
My one gripe with it is that in an interview the author said something along the lines of "never use sources made by people foreign to a culture because they'll always misunderstand it", which is rich coming from someone who's claim to legitimacy is partly them being a 4th and 5th generation Japanese and Chinese immigrant (See: an American)
>>96508604
Do you still have the link for this interview?
>"never use sources made by people foreign to a culture because they'll always misunderstand it"
I always find this funny because one of the best TTRPGs based on my country were made by foreigners who loved my culture and researched a lot and consulting with people from my country who studied our own culture. Just because you were born into a culture, does not mean you know and understand everything about it. If someone paid me to do a TTRPG based in my country, I would have to study just as much as the foreigners who created those games. The only advantage I have is communication and how to cross a street during red light.
>someone who's claim to legitimacy is partly them being a 4th and 5th generation Japanese and Chinese immigrant (See: an American)
Ah, yeah. It's always one of those diasporic motherfuckers who think they're just as asian as those who were born and raised in the country. I always laugh at them when they discover they're mistreated when going to those countries.
Like some africans say to afroamericans: "Your ancestors were weak, that's why they left, while mine were strong and decided to stay".

(He is either going with the theory Ravnos (probably not since they themselves put Ravnos turning into a vampire by the Gods after Caine.) the first vampire, Set the first vampire (see image) or perhaps Lilith the First vampire.

Blame the late revised metaplot. Also, idk about anyone else's table but I go full schizo with it. I keep a good deal of Noddism but push the timeline back like a motherfucker and go with a more "the biblical cain story is based on a game of telephone about what actually happened at the dawn of mankind." interpretation of the "first" vampire. First Kindred would be more accurate. I've only ever shown "glimpses" of the pre-flood world and Noddism is more a kernel of truth than the full truth.

The actual powerful nations of Africa bragged about slavery and their slave-based economies is the funny part. It's a large continent, and the more centralized kingdoms looked down on the tribals like they were subhuman, taking pride in basing their economy off of victory in battle and the capture of enemy peoples as slaves. When the trans-atlantic slave trade was getting shut down the King of Benin went so far as to claim to the British that the slave trade was a core part of his people's identity, and that mothers sung their babies to sleep with songs of enemies defeated and reduced to enslavement.
As an aside, it's very silly to me that Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom made the choice of having no Ventrue in Africa pre-colonization. I feel like the Ventrue fit the African kingdoms quite well.

There were at least one Malkavion, Nosferatu and Setite, as well as a Puppetteer claiming to be responsible for the previous ones.

Is V5 a good edition mechanically? Do the simplified mechanics work well for combat orientated campaigns or should I seek a different system? Would Hunter 5 or Werewolf 5 better suit my purposes?

The resource management of blood points is exchanged for the risk management of the hunger system, which dramatically transforms how people psychologically view the game. It's a very bad game for risk averse people, as they feel encouraged to never use any vampire abilities that would cause them to a roll a hunger check.
The truth of the matter is that all forms of the Storyteller system, whether classic World of Darkness or Fifth Edition or Chronicles of Darkness or Curseborne, are all bad for combat-focused campaigns. These are systems designed for narrative-focused theatre-of-the-mind stuff.
>>96514430
That's because V5 mechanics are simplified, the most complex part, Combat, encouraged to be skipped after 3 to 5 turns, and there is a heavy push towards as little dice as possible.
This is also why the Discipline system got butchered.
>>96514661
This is the one thing I don't understand. Maybe it's just theater kids or maybe something not as obvious but I feel like at a certain point it's like they hate trying to make or balance combat. A lot of new tabletop rpgs seem like they followed a similar pattern for years. I think that has started to die down a little bit.

The reasoning behind the change is how the blood pool more often than not acted like buffer between the vampire and the hunger.
>>96514920
>Why did they change Blood Pools?
"Mana pool" systems are generally considered boring and passée. The argument was that using a variation of "mana points" to represent the blood that your character has drained from living, breathing people made it too easy for players to detach themselves and not realise the severity of their characters' actions. By using the hunger system and hunger checks, players need to weigh the risk of using their powers as every use of a supernatural ability incurs the risk of getting hungrier and having to roll more hunger dice, instead of just spending a set amount of blood points from your blood pool. Combine this with the fact that the only way to reduce your hunger to zero and reset yourself to a zero-risk state is to drink someone dry and kill them, and players never quite know when they'll need to feed again, if it's safe to use this discipline, when they'll fuck up and roll a bestial failure on their hunger dice. Instead of the banal accountancy of managing blood points and blood pool, players have to make difficult decision far more often.
The downsides of this is that this encourages risk-averse optimisers to not use supernatural abilities and make hunger checks at all, since they don't want to incur more hunger dice which gives them a higher chance of a bestial failure, and that it takes away character agency and leaves it in the hands of fate, tying your decisions to the whims of the dice. Oops, you failed three hunger checks in a row, you went from a safe one hunger die to a dangerous four hunger dice, now your character urgently has to feed in order to avoid fucking everything up for everyone with bestial failures - and it's all because you rolled poorly.

Sounds like the V5 writers had issue with a problem, they tried to "fix" it and created a bigger problem in the end. A big appeal of VTM to me is the clans and their unique powers. nta
V5 generally speaking seeks to address long standing issues with vtm and WoD, in general failing at it for 2 main reasons
1) they got writers who put their interpretation of the game above all else, this isn't unique to V5 but it is a bigger issue in it due to them being allowed to make bigger changes to the setting
2) they put no effort into follow up issues (if i fix this issue do i create a new issue?)
hunger dice suffer from both because it's balanced around tables rolling maybe once or twice a session with no rules or advice for tables that like to roll dice more because "it's not the correct way to play VTM"
The anons above are wrong for one very simple reason: the disconnect is fully intentional. It encourages the vampire (and in turn the player) to view mortal people as a resource to manage and consume rather than people. Picture a situation where you get into a really tough fight with a pack of Sabbat shovelheads and end up winning but you're hevily wounded, your blood pool is nearly depleted and it's only a couple hours until sun-up. You know it's only safe to take a small sip from a mortal (a couple blood points in game terms) or their health will be in danger. You could try to drink a little from the mortals you feed on to stay on the safe side, but hunting takes time you might not have. You know the consequences in the short and long term for draining a mortal dry, but your hunger is crowding your thoughts and it's so easy to believe you could drain a couple hobos dry and hide the bodies. Your beast is gnawing at you to get a move on and feed, because otherwise you can kiss your undead ass goodbye, and it's hard to think but you gotta make a choice fast. What will you do?

Players do get to indulge in them, as long as they're not afraid of taking risks by making hunger checks in order to use those powers.
>>96515340
That's something that V5 does away with because it very much wants to focus on the street level, intimate side of things, where every hunt is meaningful and every human that feed from matters. Seeing humans as resources might be an intentional design choice with blood pools, but each hunt being personal and human lives being far more meaningful is also an intentional design choice with hunger dice.

The Hunger system supports the ludonarrative congruence v5 is trying to go for. The focus is the player characters' personal brand of horror. If you fail too many hunger checks you may end up fucking over someone your character might care about. Even when you maintain your hunger levels, messy criticals remind you of the beast and that you have to hold on to your humanity.
In v20 gameplay players would just metagame blood pool away via blood bags, or conveniently located/placed blood dolls, or straight up treating NPCs as walking juice boxes for your mana points and took the humanity/horror away from the act

They do the same in V5, no matter if Hunger is random or not. When players reach Hunger 3, they are already desperate and do what you what you say V20 players do.
I've been STing V5 for more than 5yrs and rarely someone goes full dramatic RP about this.
At same time, I saw V20 players doing dramatic RP when their blood pool are low and etc.

Usually, there are 3 types of people who primarely respond to those posts.
A) Newbies. Complete and utter newbies to WoD and perhaps even TTRPG. These are the most innocent but also the most annoying, in my opinion. Key word, annoying. But they have the most potential to actually become decent players and perhaps, a ST in the far future.
B) Fuckwards who got chased from groups. They have nowhere else to go and they are looking to fuck up a new group. They are the most dangerous, because it can disturb your plans and if hidden well, the whole game. These are the guys who want every session to focus on them, everyone else is secondary. Some of them also have a tendency to sexually harass girls if they are in the group.
C) Older adults who have limited schedules these days and your game fits perfectly. It happened to me thrice, which is a pattern. They are great.

I think i've played an alright about of vampire games, but this is the one aspect about vampire I don't know if people experience the same.
I don't see people roleplay their hunger for blood and generally treats it like a resource point because personal horror rarely fits well with the chronicle. I think this might be because the storytellers are normally interested in promoting their plot or the politics of the vampires in x area. Maybe cross splat drama, but I cannot remember the last game where it focus on how vampires get food, how they feel about drinking from others, or people they care about being in danger. I guess maybe it's different in the youtube tabletop games like by night youtube channels. Did I just have a shitty vampire experience? Am I a bad player or had bad storytellers? Maybe both?

That's normal, or even expected. Players feeding is fun to act and focus on the first few times.
Afterwards it is just a chore. Whatever it's Blood Pool or Hunger, at one point, either the player or the ST or both just goes "Yep, you fed."

This is a matter of definitions. If someone tells me they have never seen another player roleplay out being hungry when low on blood, even something as simple as "Fuck, I'm hungry. Where's a late night jogger when you need one...", it sounds to me like they're living on another planet.
At the same time, a game that "focuses" on how a vampire gets their blood would be insanely boring, since it'd be a game entirely about subsistence and would very much feel samey, especially once you figured out a good system. Feeding, unless under stressful or otherwise extenuating circumstances, doesn't merit being focused on. It's the old "who puts new tires on the batmobile?" thing. Feeding isn't the focus because honestly, if vampires really struggled to feed themselves on the night to night, they wouldn't have grand conspiracies and Elders would be incredibly rare. The Masquerade itself becomes far less plausible. It just doesn't make for a very entertaining story and it's a storytelling game.
Still, whenever I make a player character, I go out of my way to figure out how they prefer to hunt for blood, as well as the other practical realities of their unlives. But that's because I like to flesh out my characters. Not because I expect the ST to indulge me with a unique encounter every time I roll a hunt. That's just a waste of everyone's time.
Whether or not you had a shitty experience depends entirely on if you had fun or not. Whether or not your ST is good or not depends on how much fun was had because of their choices vs. in spite of them. I can't say if you're a bad player or not because you didn't say anything about what you did in play.

Vampire, Werewolf, or Hunter. I'm not an expert on south american history, but the impression I have always gotten is politics, violence, and the new world mingling with the old in interesting and often weird to outsiders ways.
Vampire lets you engage in undead intrigue in a time and place fraught with political turmoil. Werewolf can do a lot with laying claim to the wild places of the continent and encountering strange spirits. Hunter can be all about fighting monsters of both the new and old worlds.

I have a question about sorcerer revised and sorcerer 20th. Can someone explain to me a bit more plainly how the aspects work? This is how I understand it
In Sorcerer 20th in order to cast a spell you must not only score one success by default but you must also score a success for each aspect you use. In another way it's all the aspects you use + 1. So for example lets say I am attacked by vampire name Phyre. In order for me to hit him with a basic firebolt I need to determine the Damage Apsect (Level 2), the Range (Level 2), the Area (Level 1). I have to declare I want to use those aspects to each of those levels. Roll at a difficulty of highest path rating use (2) + 4. So in order for me to cast the spell I need to get 6 successes on a difficulty 6 roll. If I fail the spell doesn't happen as well as the fact I lose the willpower. After all is said and done even if I succeed I still need to hit the npc and worry about their defense. Did I misunderstand anything?
I know you're in here Agent Hoover...

HtV Slasher game is going well. Last night the PCs received a bundle of pamphlets and leaflets for local businesses, and one also had a knuckle duster posted through their letterbox. Four of the leaflets were on the same street while others were for a fostercare, a dump, the cemetary and the animal pound. The players weren't clear on the meaning of half of them but went to investigate the adjoining buildings where they found a Slasher hiding in the alleyway. The Bouncer, suffers from a traumatic brain injury that has him in a constant state of fight or flight.
As they tried to talk him down, the Bouncer ranted about "lights" and refused to get into the back of their car. He was surrounded by silver cutlery and the bulbs of purple plants, his pupils dilated and contracted sharply throughout the conversation before he snapped and nearly killed two of the PCs with a broken bottle. He eventually escaped and the PCs had to wonder who sent them there and why.
In reality, it's a Puppeteer who has realised that the PCs are Hunters and not just people coincidentally near a lot of gruesome crime scenes. He's working to recruit and control the Slasher population in the city, and use his bizarre (but strangely accurate) mathematical equation that can predict which people will serve as a vector for supernatural contagion. The Slashers are then MKUltra hypnotised into murdering these specific people. The Bouncer is so compromised mentally however, that he's tripped and pulled the curtain down and hinted to the PCs that there is someone at work behind the scenes. He sent the PCs there to tidy up his mess.

I dunno my group are very risk averse. I can see my players having one look at the Hunger Dice rules and basically never using anything except for the at will "free" disciplines. Sounds like you need a very specific mindset to understand and appreciate the Hunger Dice which really limits how many people will enjoy your game.

nWoD2e is just nWoD1.5 in the end. Many things from previous edition are still usable.
I had an idea for a Hunter The Reckoning campaign based on a Bloodborne crossover. The imbued are receiving their powers from the Good Hunter, who became a Great One at the end of Bloodborne (which I guess would be an Incarna in WoD terms but some are as powerful as Celestines.)
Not sure what Bloodborne elements would work in WoD though. One I definitely like is imbued Hunters instinctively knowing how to create empowered trick weapons from seemingly ordinary materials.

Although I'd personally like the idea of tying it to Flora more than the Good Hunter, although that might just be some hesitance against PC character personalities
Although I'd note that making Hunters some kind of really weird ghouls could kind of work when you consider the way blood replaced all pleasures and vices in Yharnam and how ghouls can frenzy.

The way I was thinking of it is that the Good Hunter is from an alternate dimension or something and as a Great One has become a very alien being. It retains its desire to eliminate "beasts" and to protect humans (at least on a grand scale) so it imbues Hunters as its chosen children. It isn't anything remotely human any more, just more friendly than such beings would typically be. Insight does work really well in WoD and with HtR specifically because of how they can pierce all glamours and illusions
>Although I'd note that making Hunters some kind of really weird ghouls could kind of work when you consider the way blood replaced all pleasures and vices in Yharnam and how ghouls can frenzy.
Also the whole reason Great Ones interact with humans in Bloodborne is so they can use them to reproduce...there is a lot going on there

> considering that working with iron is a good way for them to fuck themselves up
Literally how? Iron is no particular threat to regular changelings other than bypassing Glamour-based defenses. It only causes aggravated damage to True Fae and only if it's hand wrought
>mortal society doesn't regularly produce bullets that can be considered iron
DIY loads are one of the unironically easiest things to make, and the tools are readily available on the market. Elemental iron is A) incredibly cheap to buy in bulk and B) not hard to shape with hand tools or a lathe because it is so soft, so hammering it into the shape of a bullet is not hard. It would actually be harder to produce good wrought iron blades, since it isn't well-suited for holding an edge without alloying it into steel.
>anyone who finds out that casually mass-producing iron weaponry on that scale will probably try to put a stop to it, since the mass production of iron bullets threatens everything fey, friend and foe alike.
"Hey Tom, I'm gonna make iron bullets for killing Gentry so they never crawl out of their stinking holes and kidnap people, or one of us, ever again." "Godspeed Hank, here, have $5,000 from the freehold's rainy day funds as a nest egg to get production underway."

"Hey Steve, did you hear that Hank is making a bunch of iron bullets for killing Gentry? Pretty sweet, huh?" "Yeah, that's really cool, I'm totally not a secret Loyalist or Bridge Burner or just paranoid that they'll be used against me and I totally won't raid the stash of iron bullets to either destroy them or use them to kill you all."

The only way I could ever see them being overpowered is by liberally abusing the mechanics for making new Contracts and the GM letting you build your own cheese. Very few clauses among the Contracts are of any real use in a fight, the notable exception being the Summer Eternal five dot clause that turns you into a walking Sun. You can delete regular people with that, and vampires just get ash babied on the spot.

Make it so that vampires that drink blood from a hunter start losing control to their beast and going mad, sometimes having odd visions. Their blood is somehow more potent than that of other humans and can heal or restore a vampire's strength much faster but after several strange incidents the Camarilla banned all kindred from feeding on the imbued on pain of death. The precise nature of these incidents is unknown and considered top secret, with most kindred only knowing that one involved a Malkavian whose visions began to grow even stranger.

>warp time
>deal agg damage
>reverse gravity
>increase gravity by a factor of 10
>horribly mutate you
>give you PTSD
Guns are OP in every splat. Even in Werewolf you can still make guns incredibly viable by just taking crew served weapons like .50 cals as akimbo sidearms while in warform and infuse your ammo belts with angry spirits of vengeance.

Old. Lore of the Forge is legit overpowered as shit. You need 1 success to
>decrease the difficulty of a tool or weapon's usage by 1
>increase damage by 1 to a maximum of twice the weapon's base damage
>increase another aspect by +20% to a maximum of +100% such as range or durability
And you may be saying, hey, you'd need 11 successes to make a 16 damage 3 difficulty shotgun. Yeah well, you can spend Faith to guarantee successes, take Apocalyptic aspects which reduce your difficulty or add dice or both, and plenty of Merits can do the same. You can also just chargen a guy with 9 strength throwing 11 damage punches which can be agg if you feel like it so Demon isn't the most balanced splat and relies very heavily on you and your players considering that the point is that while you do have the power of Creation at your fingertips you also have an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at 5 and you don't want to disappoint Carol by not showing up on time because you like Carol she reminds you of your dead mom.

It along with all the stuff about needing to safeguard your names really make the game very paranoid, because while you can come back from 'death' very easily by finding a new host, you really don't want that for obvious reasons, since it basically means replacing half your character with another one.
Really good of OPP to have DtD lean into that paranoia for a full on espionage game, but I'll always be a bit salty we never got a proper Chronicles redux for DtF, nor a D20 that fixes the original's jank and bad editing. Thanks, Paradox.

They way I would run it in a chronicle is that they the Men In Black, they’re too busy fighting off Cthulhu’s attempts to penetrate the deep umbra or insane archmages trying to eliminate the concept of death to take notice of whatever is going on in your chronicle. They have limited resources and attention despite their power, which is why they can be partially infiltrated by agents of the Wyrm. The boss can’t focus on everything all at once. If they show up at all it should be in a limited way that deals with your campaign. Maybe a pack of garou encounters a syndicate agent who is investigating oddities with the funding of the Special Projects Division of Pentex (whose wyrm nature is covered up due to its link to the union.) It relies on knowing a mage who wants to help you, it is absolutely worse than modern medicine. That's why people live longer in the modern age and don't die in childhood/childbirth the way they used to. It is better if you're a mage and only care about your own immortality.

However, the more toys they gave us, the lazier we got and we ourselves became stagnant.
One of Technocracy's "personal horror" is that they achieved their goal, but humanity just wants to site in front of a computer and argue on twitter all day long.
And they can't change that because surprise surprise: Humanity controls the Consensus at the end. It's a dead end Technocracy put themselves into.
Just like any other mage, their ego got the best of them.

All True Fae are powerful beings that operate on an entirely different definition of morality than humans, if indeed morality is a concept that they understand in the first place.

The Lost aren't sure how many True Fae there even are, let alone what proportion of them kidnap people. Technically, every realm, prop, and actor in Arcadia is a True Fae, but it's primarily the Actors (living physical person manifestations of a Fae) that do the actual kidnapping and stuff. So in theory, since every object and every land in an infinite expanse of pocket dimensions is a True Fae, even by that logic alone the Keepers are a statistical fraction of the population of True Fae.

>>96530504
probably they were referring to the idea of setting an entire splat around the concept of playing as classic pulp horror Mummies rather than having Mummies as a side archetype in something else, you know, like Vampire, Promethean, Geist, or any other splat where they either exist already in some form or would easily be added with a little sourcebook

Mexican mummies, Buddhist monks that practice self-mummification. You could throw some cool stuff there and I have no idea if it's different in Curse VS Resurrection
Goddamn, even Mummy devolves into World of Firearms. I feel lied to, the book claimed Mummies are as powerful as late game characters in other splats from the moment they awaken. But since it's hard to resupply Sekhem that just means you're all the more incentivized to buy an AK-47 and just start shooting people instead of using your fantastical powers

I can only speak for The Curse, but it's not strictly Egyptian, but rather based on the premise of an ancient pre-Egyptian empire that spanned from North Africa to South Africa to Mesopotamia in times of antiquity, predating the Old Kingdom of Egypt by centuries, which was ruled by super mages that cracked the secret to immortality and cast it on their most loyal servants. It still uses predominantly Egyptian terminology and mythology for some reason despite specifically NOT being an Egyptian Mummy thing. But it also specifically rules out Latin American and Asian mummies as being part of the setting because only specifically this not-Egyptian dynasty figured out immortality.

owod mummy in general pretty overestimate how strong it made mummies
they have some really strong spells but those are late game stuff so cost not a small amount of exp and most often require a lot of sekhem and very high rolls and mummies can only get superhuman stats with spells (alchemy or amulets) and can't get superhuman levels of skill. they are also lacking in initiative buffs and super speed so your ancient sorcerer is very likely to just get their head cut off by a garou pup or torewhore neonate before you can turn their bodies to silver

It's cited as one of the main inspirations for Mummy: The Curse, and one of the game themes you can focus on or ignore as you please
> All this supernatural activity did not go unnoticed by the forces of the Technocracy, who declared Code Ragnarok - a threat to the entire world, and authorized the use of unlimited resources to stop the disaster. In a first moment they tried to use orbital mirrors to focus the power of the sun on the Antediluvian, but they were unable to pierce the clouds and the magic that was sustaining it since Tieh Juh was strengthening the hold of the clouds, believing it was still too soon to spring the trap.
>At the peak of the battle as demons from Indian mythology, werewolves, mages, technocrats, and the undead clashed within the heart of the storm, while the fight between the Antediluvian and the ancient Kue-Jin could even be seen from the Sea of Shadows of the Underworld, and in a moment of despair the Bodhisattva opened the gate to the Yomi World, causing an eruption of the spirit world into this one. Having failed to disperse the clouds either by air or by land, the Union launched magical "neutron bombs" on the battlefield, killing all of Zapathasura's combatants
t>triggering the trap and releasing the clouds allowing thus the Technocracy’s solar mirror to strike. The Antediluvian was destroyed before it could regenerate, sending one last psychic scream that ravaged his own Clan.
I have to admit I wasn't familiar with the Technocracy's game because I really only know vtm but apparently they are like the Culture but in World of Darkness or something. So are the Carmilla sacred of these guys? I have to imagine seeing this would scare most vampire factions shitless. IIRC first edition had a whole section of Camarilla Elders who had contact with Technocracy to do diplomacy-stuff with them.
But they never went far on details about it and later editions didn't expand this concept.

So they'll tolerate their existence and let them larp as medieval lords for now, even work with them sometimes, but at the end of the day they're on the chopping block once all the higher level problems are dealt with. If they knew more about Caine and noddism they might devote more resources to wiping out vampires.
So the Technocracy created the God-Machine as their last desperate resort in case of the world ending, and all of NWoD is just the new reality it created on Earth after 19 different apocalypses all hit OWoD Earth and wiped out all life, right?
