Haste and Token Generation in the command zone, it's a 4 drop s it curves nicely, and it makes your deck Grixis Artifacts. I unironically might consider proxying this if I get tired of Golbez or just want a Simulacrum Synthesizer punching deck.

You can build half decent decks at around 100 dollars if you actually know how to deck build and know how pilot your builds. Most expensive cards have some sort of cheaper alternative you can play instead. It is a casual format, it isn't the end of the world if you are not playing the most optimized version of your build. I would rather have 10 decks worth 100 dollars than 1 deck worth a grand. Far more opportunity for fun with 10 decks. I can rotate decks and I can also use my extra decks to teach newer players about the game (and they won't be as intimidated by the cost to get into the game if I tell them the deck cost 100 instead of 1000). I've even given decks away to people just to get them started, even gave away a bunch of other cards to them so they can start building their collections and have some options for deck building.

anyways, another point: landbases make up a huge portion of many decks' cost, and running more guildgates and other suboptimal lands can often reduce the cost of your deck by several hundred dollars. there is no reason your shitty tricolour commander deck absolutely needs 6 fetches, three shocks, a triome, and every other expensive land you can shove in to fix your mana: there are loads of good budget options AND by relying on fetches/shocks you probably aren't getting a good understanding of limiting your cards to certain colours or whatever. i have 5C decks on extremely budget manabases that never run into problems because i understand that my deck is primarily UR or GR and make sure my lands prioritize those colours. too many retards think it is okay to run something with GGG or UUU in its cost despite their deck primarily being black or red. they don't understand colour balance BECAUSE they will just shill out for an optimized manabase as a bandage for their bad deckbuilding.

It is a theft deck but doesn't really have the feel bads of most theft decks where the theft is both removal and creating a threat at the same time. Not having answers myself and needing to hope my opponents libraries have the removal I need is very fun and leads to every game being very different, cobbling together strategies that would never work in a traditional deck. Im not much for tribal usually but I have fun playing this. End up with aome lesser picks for wipes and removal just to get more exile removal. Won the last time out with it killing the first player with Rite of Consumption for ~70 and the other players couldn't keep up. Yes, even when making decks from the bottom. I like when my deck tells a story, or most cards in it has a reason to be in the deck for a common theme. But I've gotten a bit jaded and tested in the last year because my decks are getting curb stomped by super optimized turbo autismo decks with players that have a win at all cost no matter how cancer their strategy is, while also being ultra slow and they all smell of standard/modern players that wantes to play "more casual".

repurposing bay is still cheap. welder and engineer are still like 10 bucks though. loyal apprentice. your other relevant blood artist effects are marionette apprentice, marionette master, disciple of the vault, al bhed salvagers, agent of the iron throne, psychomancer. reckless fireweaver and weftstalker ardent do similar on the etb. burnished hart, wayfarer's bauble, and dreamscape artist are all ramp effects that are doubled by ashnod. also commander's sphere's draw ability will be doubled. also the spellbombs (aether, nihil, pyrite), skullbombs (dross and surgical), and the two capsules in your colors if you feel like those. you can use rise and shine, cyberdive awakener and/or depthshaker titan as wincons. I don't know if you have a setup that wins if you cast scrap mastery. salvaging station.

I love green and I like the crossover between the colors but the red stuff is mainly there for damage multipliers, burn finishers as your mana dump, and haste enablers. Green has the draw, the ramp, the big creatures, the removal, and the protection. But god are the Gruul pip combo cards fun. Xenagos and Cactusfolk Sureshot are two of my favorite cards in the whole game. I've been considering spinning Xenagos off into his own deck since I play him in so much already.

I have been gold fishing with it and I make a lot of mana but with very few things to use it on. I ramp really hard by turn 6 but I’ve only got a couple but fatties cause I either draw a bunch of ramp spells, forests, or mana elves. I have a hunch that I need a better balance of mana ramp and things to use that mana on.

Elvish visionary and roaring primadox are likely getting replaced too. Might do scavenging ooze instead of visionary for a mana sink and graveyard hate. Roaring primadox is too situational and by the time it “comes online” by letting me repeat ETB effects on fatties I’d probably be better off with a different 4 drop. I’m gonna try it out for a while regardless
