I do not like how uninvolved demons are in warhammer outside of Aos, and even there they aren’t heavily utilized. I guess if I liked kh’bhanda id be happy with his involvement in 30k, but overall, gw has no fucking idea how to utilize chaos efficiently.

The problem with the Emperor's plan was that he ran a sort of...'looting based economy' so to speak. Basically, he didn't really improve the places that he conquered, but rather he just went from planet to planet, conquering them and then taking their stuff for his army.

This worked out fine initially, and he presumably wasn't planning on his plan with the Primarchs backfiring, but either way, in the end it did backfire, and that's why the Imperium is such a decayed shithole.

It is now, 10k years of stagnation later, that many worlds are run down and decadent. But even then, the worst Hive World isn't as bad as Galaspar, and Galaspar was very tame in comparison with other compliances, and the Death Guard made it into a decent place. And they aren't known for their kindness, so you can imagine most other legions were better.

The Emperor had four entire primarchs who were experts in engineering, architecture, infrastructure, infrastructure, etc. These are men who could could have and should have been used to build up the Imperium.

I got to send my Vindicator on its maiden voyage, it did good work. Mostly killed (dropped them to 1-2 wounds which something else picked up) a couple of Invictors and ate a bunch of hits before finally folding, definitely earned its points back.

I actually think Emperors Children straight up stealing World Eaters Schtick of army wide advance charge was for the better. In the past WE and right now EC are very one note. They have one gameplan and thats engage the enemy and mince them faster than they can kill you. From the competitive side it was EC was really strong 55%+ winrate initially but as got used to it and powercreep started setting in they fell off hard. Meanwhile WE now have much more controlled style of play with more options in how they engage and punish an opponent. Most of the damage is still in Fight Phase but they arent so one note anymore

personally, I love the modelling/assembling part the most in this hobby, especially scratchbuildn ork stuff. my enjoyment in painting lies with the process itself. sure you can always be proud/happy with the finished product but I really enjoy "peeling" the finished model out of the grey, seeing glimpses of the finished artwork through the two base colors you applied. on another note I left the deffkoptas for about half a year since thinking about painting the details made my head ache

just paint what you want to, don't feel bad when leaving a model half finished, don't sweat it with the quality (it will improve soon enough), MOST IMPORTANTLY remember it's a hobby and those are supposed to make fun foremost

It's how daemons started off as in 40k. They were just part of the same fucking book as chaos marines.
And that was intentional design by GW. And it was fine, good even.
Chaos marines didn't get access to all of the shit that loyalists did, but they made up for it by having daemons, sorcerers and daemon engines.
But chaosfags got pissy about the fact that they HAD to take daemons in their army when they only wanted to play chaos marines. Eventually GW did the stupid thing and gave in, and separated daemons from the CSM.
Which has then onward spawned the god forsaken "we want what imperium has but with spikes!" shit.

GW separating daemons and CSM and even the lost and the damned from the same book, was a mistake.
Even the cult legions shouldn't be their own separate armies.
Perfect evidence of this is the fucking Thousand Sons and World Eaters, both of them should just be codex supplements to the regular CSM book. Same goes for DG and EC.
