i think it depends a lot on the specifics. Agri worlds can be generic medieval worlds where peasants live like they lived in medieval times or monoculture hellscapes where the constant clouds of toxic fertilizers blot out the sky and where very little can live except for wheat. At the same time paradise worlds could vary from "relatively pretty nice, even for servants", and one were regular peasant hunts are scheduled as entertainment.

The custom IG regiment I'm working on is from an Agri-world. They're inspired by WW2 France and other small countries. Being an Agri-world they're big on food, fielding a lot of abhuman auxilia (mainly Ratlings, Ogryns and Squats).

They're a small regiment, so much so that they only have one super-heavy/baneblade which is quite the celebrity.
I want them to be sort of "clueless" to the wider galaxy, they're clean and almost elegant, "hopeful" even.

This is no longer the case. Tau evolve very fast. In the new fluff they are basically at human level or higher depending on the caste and their souls are getting brighter and brighter.

I'm not sure if this is news to any of you but recently a rumourmonger with a pretty good track record has posted picrel on an aos forum mostly used for leaks, seeming to imply iron warriors getting a release. I don't know enough about 40k to decipher what anything else of this means but maybe it's useful to you guys.

Like I said the guy has a decent track record for aos, calling the nurgle whq, the ogre teaser, a bunch of minor shit. He's claimed to work in the 40k department and he just leaks aos shit because it's funny. I don't know if that's credible though. Also lately the attention has kind of gone to his head and he's been posting a lot of vague shit. All this to say you should take it with a grain of salt. Anyway yeah enjoy.

Most civilized worlds in the Imperium seem like they are fine to live on. A shitty shitty maybe, but like, Russia, not North Korea. You see them in the Cain and Eisenhorn novels. And those are the majority of worlds in the Imperium. Feral worlds are bad but only in the way that the Middle Ages or the Renaissance was bad-they're probably better than a lot of places in 40k.

But I'd guess the majority of humans still live on hive worlds because of how densely populated they are and hive worlds absolutely suck

Looking to start a second army and I'm looking for advice. Narrowed it down to two options with this year's battleforce boxes. Tau or CSM.
My first army is Thousand Sons so if I go CSM I'll have enough points for 2000 point games out the box with vehicles, daemon engines, and a few other units being carried over. I love the magic, but also the range which is why CSM has be second guessing.
Tau has the range and speed I want, but no psychic. I do like the high tech theme though. Also I'd be starting from zero. Money isn't that big an issue, but I like to have my models painted and ready before putting them on the table.
What is /40kg/'s opinion?

Drukahri as a whole lost a ton. They are the most fragile army in the game and are slower than gladius, die to overwatch constantly and got more expensive.

In every Tau story I've read they are capable of squaring up with an average guardsmen. They even describe fire warriors as muscular and sweaty gymrats. I think it's more that the Imperials are fucking psychos.

Of course, its also a bit of an abstraction from the tabletop. Tau have no specialized melee units, but technically guard don't either. Their melee units aren't human, they are stuff like Ogryn.

Tau don't have an equivalent to Sacresants or Intercessors and so are "bad at melee" because they only have CCWs.

I've been playing two to four games per month in my circle of 5 people at our LGS.
