>>11460992This is cool as fuck but I cannot stand the oversized SM2 subtheme so I shan't be purchasing this one, Chang
No photos yet unfortunately, but I got some guys in the mail and unfortunately Dominion Zephon does seem to have a really small head compared to the other marines. Its not quite as noticeable with his helmet and jetpack on (which is good, because helmets r kewl) but it still looks disproportionate compared to the big barrel chest. The bionic arms look a bit small because they don't have the power armour plates but they do look good, and the bionic leg is better than it first seemed because while its narrow from the front its much more chunky in profile. The Alpha Legion sword praetor, Dynat and the Ultramarine-with-the-giant-standard-and-spikey-shoulerpad-I-can't-remember-the-name-of-offhand are all fantastic though. The Alpha Legionaries have a similar style of paint job to the Thousand Sons, but it appears to be all over rather than just the upper body. They also have the same style of shoulder pad movement system as Terminators do, with a little ball-jointed armature inside the pad connect with the marine's shoulder, rather than the soft plastic connector a lot of the other have.
>>11461834Well there's already the titus and his squad + Calgar (with guards). I don't think they need to anything more from the game. Maybe Acheran or Leandros?
It appears lerneans are pinheaded too. Not as bad as sekhmet, but still noticeable.

>>11461834They're probably gonna make the final cosmetic unlocks for every class, so I'd expect a gravis marine, a blade guard, a reiver (though at that point it looks more like an incursor), an eliminator, and a jump intercessor. Kinda cool cuz they're interesting sculpts, but kinda lame for me, because I'm not a fan of a lot of those cosmetics lol, especially since I wanted the sniper the most. Ah well, whichever weapon they each will have will be the biggest factor for me, and judging by the tactical's lame as bolt rifle WITHOUT the grenade launcher, it looks like meta weapons aren't being considered, and their default option is chosen. That means heavy filter for gravis, which is cool, but I think bolt sniper for sniper? Should've been las fusil, at least it's a more interesting gun (my favorite is scoped carbine or stalker, so I'm SoL regardless). Vanguard will be instigator, I think? Not bad.
Wait does tactical have a heavy bolt pistol? That's kinda odd (unless it's the normal bolt pistol that has a slight bulk underneath the barrel. Not to be confused with the reiver's special issue bolt pistol, which the game uses as the heavy bolt pistol).

These TMNT Triceratons are excellent figures but I'm puzzled why JT bothered with them. they are obscure side-characters from a 1980s cartoon. For the effort put into them JT could have produced a guaranteed money-spinner like new Orks, Ogryns, commissars, Inquisitors, Kasrkin, Catachans, Arbites etc etc

>>11463745I really want the predator tank but got no place to put it
>>11463476Because they only made shitty killteam sculpts with bad articulation. If they made them properly and made units people actually wanted then they would sell. Chang.
>>11463771>>11463771I actually really like the Ork Kommandos, but they definitely have problems. Apart from the sculpting issues the orks also have really hard plastic hands, so just getting the weapons into their hands can be a real pain and scale creep has hit them as hard as as all the other earlier figures - they're great hulking figures with normal human scaled ones, but with more recent Marines they're increasinly titchy. I was able to get the recent rerelease of Tau Shadowsun and she's fantastic. I especially love the weathering on the armour, it really adds something. I'd quite like the Tau warriors to go with her, but I can understand why that's not happening.
I just want more Xenos man. I get it, they're much more risky and niche for the amount of work involved, but even a one-off like a Farseer, Harlequin or Kroot tracker would be nice, never mind pipedream stuff like a Dreadnought sized Carnifex or basically any of the Dark Eldar.
>>11463748this nigga reads books!
>>11463476If they made cheap army-builder Ork Boyz and units like Thraka they would sell. Look at Tyranids.
>>11463467Shredder, Splinter, April etc sure but these dino lads are literal-who minor characters apparently. They are great sculpts and paintjobs though so I got them. They will fit into my 40k scenario.
The Ali summer sale is amazing. I managed to get this for ยฃ303 using coupons and coins. Also topcashback was doing 20% cashback on Ali purchases yesterday so if that actually tracks (I'm not holding my breath) it will be a real price of ยฃ240.
>>11463890That book on the right...
>>11463954While they were only minor antagonists in the 87 cartoon (which these guys are sort of based on), the Triceratons lasted for more issues of the original comic than Shredder did, and have been in nearly every iteration of the franchise except the movies and the two most recent shitty tv series.
Be honest how likely is it that they make a special scale knight the size of a primach?
>>11463972I would bet that GW would explicitly ban such a thing because it has a chance of being usable on tabletop and would be better and cheaper than actual models
>>11463955As a fellow Bonglander, I want to say congratulations on your prize and also that I am completely crazed with jealousy.
>>11463997You can use Klarna to spread payments out if it's too much at once.
>>11463467no space marines in the figures I listed. They would all be unique sculpts. These Triceratons are reminiscent of Orks in their size and build.
>>11463476Those Orks weren't great sculpts, JT are way better now. Also there's more of an appetite to have antagonists to go against the Astartes figures.
>>11463989well, the Knight is already exactly the same size as a Warlord titan (and roughly the same looks) for a quarter of the price
Do I need to rush and p/o him on BBTS? I remember he was also quite difficult to find on AliExpress last year, there were only a handful around for about $100 or more. Also, are there any upgrades to him now? Newer, bigger gripping/trigger hands?

>>11465717>Worldbreaker catches him before he is even back on his knees. The clubbing blow breaks his left shoulder, ribs and left femur. He collapses, trying not to scream from the pain, and failing. Horus starts to bludgeon him, beating him repeatedly like a disobedient dog. There is no art in this any more. No martial skill. No patience. Worldbreaker shreds armour and flesh. It pulverises both collarbones. It ruptures a lung. A fine drizzle of blood fumes the air around the two figures, the brutal, beating giant and his prey. The sixth hammering impact twists Sanguiniusโ head around, shattering his jaw, and transmitting such force that the skin on the left half of his face, from brow to chin, is flayed loose. It flutters, then drapes back like a slack mask. >As he falls forward, the Talon vices him again. It lifts the ruined, tattered Angel into the air, until he is face to face with the first-found instrument of Chaos.>Horus squeezes slowly. He is expecting some last word, some immortal and heroic declaration to mark the end of a majestic, noble life. It ought to be something good, something appropriate.>But Sanguinius is no longer capable of speech. He is drowning in his own blood.>The claws close. There is a double crack of spine and neck.>Horus waits. Blood drips. Itโs done.>The Talon opens with a mechanical clack. His brotherโs corpse, so loose and mangled it seems almost boneless, drops to the deck. An ugly sound of impact to mark an ugly ending.

>>11465731For me, it's
>The touch of the Knight's fury had seemed to drain away into them, or dissipated into nothing. In reply, lightning leapt from amongst the warriors, crawling over the Knight of Cratax, burrowing into its armour plates, melting power connections and whipping through its metal bones. It fell, but before it could hit the ground, an invisible force ripped its head from its body and cast it back before the gates of Crataxโs hold. The Knights came from the gates then, every single war machine of the blighted Household. The ground around the circle of Thousand Sons churned with explosions and melted, fused and cracked as the charging Knights poured their fury before them. The telekinetic shields protecting the Thousand Sons shook, and within their circle some fell to their knees, blood oozing from the joints of their armour to freeze and boil in the warp-charged air. But still they waited as the Knightsโ charge shook the ground beneath their feet. When the lead Knight was a shadow above them, Ohrmuzd raised his hand and closed his fingers. The Knight stopped, staggered and then fell, its pilot's flesh turned to vapour inside its cockpit. Before the metal giant had hit the ground, the Thousand Sons had dropped their shields, lifted the body of the dead Knight into the air and cast it at one of its cousins. From that moment the battle is said to have lasted no more than five hundred seconds, and at its end the molten and twisted remains of every single Knight lay on the witch-frosted ground. The Thousand Sons Legion lost three warriors, two killed by brain haemorrhage while using their powers, one crushed by the dead metal of a Knight. Those who had survived departed before the Explorator units of the Mechanicum arrived to strip Crataxโs hold. When word of the victory reached the Imperiumโs distant War Council, it was greeted only with the sound of fear: silence.

>>11460938I second the question. How do you go about creating an interesting terrain with ground texture, cathedrals, steps and other stuff?
>>11467584Mostly 3D printing and other forms of DYI. IIRC, the terrain that sparked discussion was a prototype made by Joytoy, but was denied by GW themselves, on grounds of it being in a direct competition with their minis or whatever bullshit.
There are also plenty of 3rd party sellers on Ebay/Etsy etc.
>>11468582>>11467584Yeah, it would not surprise me if a lot of the stuff in the official Joytoy photos is 3d-printed. If you look at the tower in
>>11460922 it looks like it was made from several blocks that didn't quite come together smoothly, leaving an odd seam line that the paint doesn't quite hide. The floor plates would also have been ideal for printing, if they didn't come from a Battle for the Stars 1/18 playsets.
If you have access to a 3D-printer there's lots of Warhammer style scenery out there, you just have to scale up to the size you need it. If you want to have a go at making DIY terrain objects there's quite a lot of good tutorials on Youtube, and the old GW "How to Make Wargames Terrain" books are still fantastic resources
https://gofile DOT io/d/s99zDV
>>11468673>pic relatedDo I need a mask or ventilation system for that? Or is it safe to do at my desk?
>>11468699For nearly all the DIY stuff, so long as you've got good ventilation when you're mucking about with chemicals like glue (so basically just open the windows) and aren't actively huffing the fumes you'll be fine 99% of the time. I do think that any fumes from a hot wire cutter going through high density polystyrene probably aren't good for you, but considering the size of the scenery bits you're making its not a huge deal and probably just me being boring. Same deal as the moon rocks in pic-related - a heat gun melting lumps of polystyrene is going to create some interesting chemical reactions I personally would try avoid breathing them in, but its not like trying to remove all the asbestos from an attic.
The big exception for this is if you're doing anything with resin, whether that's 3D printing or cleaning up more traditional castings. Resin dust and chemical fumes are Very Bad and should always be treated with care.

>>11472031Ok wow I tried a second figure and it works easily, they're almost soft to manipulate. The sorcerer guy is extremely stiff though and feels like it will snap. Was it like melted and refrozen or something? Or is it just an older version and harder to use.
>>11472031Skill issue, very homo.
>>11462308Also his buddies have bigger and cooler helmets
>>11472031>>11472083You are correct ,The older style ones often have very hard plastic hands, similar to what the bodies are made of, while the more recent ones have a different, more rubbery composition. You may need to either submerge the hands and arms in hot water or else use a hairdryer to gently heat them up into becoming more pliable. I had to boil the crap out of an Ork hand just to get it to move a little. Also, be careful when you push the parts together, I managed to snap the shoulderpad peg on a Sister Warsuit clean off, and now I can't find a way to fix it..
>>11472031soak the hand in warm water for a minute.
>>11471666Yes but itโs clearly what inspired the helm you and I have. >>11485403>but still buys their toys regularly.i wish.
Due to Joytoy's terrible reputation for their bad QC and shitty plastics, i need to constantly lurk these threads to find out what i can actually buy that won't come broken straight out of the box, have missing pieces, bad paint jobs, or shitty engineering. Nevermind their fuck up with scale early on.
Then i have to wait 6-12 months to see how brittle the plastics end up being, so I only buy their figures at intermittent times.
The only thing that's actually regular is regularly missing out on figures i actually want to buy, like the fucking Primarchs. All of them have problems with poor paint jobs and some have engineering issues too.
So my collection is spotty as hell, which makes me angry at Joytoy for being cheapass assholes who don't care about QC or accuracy. They release so many figures I'd love to buy and most of them are halfassed.
>>11485345I haven't bought any JT figures since the tariff debacle and this development has made me not want to start up again. I think I might just be done with the line. The worst part is that it had to be Iron Warriors of all things, my favorite traitor legion that I was most excited to see in action figure form. I might still end up getting a tyrant siege terminator since they are one of my favorite units in the entire setting but I think my collection might be done after that.
>>11484552I'm so sick of microcephalic marines. Why do these retards keep making the overall body bigger while making the head smaller? Did a quick edit and it instantly got x10 better.
>>11481266The Emperor had an even more claw-like lightning claw. Are you suggesting that He was evil?
>>11485508That tiny adjustment makes a huge difference, what the hell?
Now that the Iron Warriors season is open which figure is going to come out next? Some kind of specialized armor variant, Perty, Iron circle?
>>11485345Not as bad as we thought height wise, but still. Difference in proportions is extremely jarring.
>>11485345The Chad Iron Warrior vs The Virgin Son of Horus.
>>11485865nope beaki means the SoH fucks
>>11485508Maybe bigger heads limit range of motion and that's why Joytoy always makes them small? I'm not supporting it, just trying to understand their decision-making priorities.
>>11485771they perfected the 40K look with 2.0 pauldrons and legs
30K started off good then everyone got katoki'd
>>11486913total smurf victory
>>11486874I would, if Heresy Blood Angels had good, basic bitch troops. But they're all specialist or elites.
No Primaris crap in this house.
>>11487112But Brother every Blood Angel is an elite.
>>11487112Based and same
50+ figures and zero primarislop
>>11487112A real shame we never got any blood beakies on the old mold.
>>11487281I have 20 figures, and none are Primaris. 1 Deathwing termie, 3 Custode Guards and rest are Heresy.
The bigger you are, the smaller your head is
>>11487819>they didn't fix cape cinderblocksThis is failure on a multiple levels. Not only JT engineers approved this garbage, GW also apparently reviews these before letting them go into production. (Valdor spear feedback for example)
Nobody said shit.
>>11487281I'm not. I just hate their their nonsensical lore and soulless helmet design.

>>11485508damn
its really too bad this whole collection isnt related to a miniature hobby where a non-secondary could easily, trivially fix and improve upon these issues themselves
>>11485593>Are you suggesting that He was evil?the guy who couldnt even, for a second, pretend to give enough of a solitary fuck about half his kids, to the point he'd cause a 10'000 year long galactic war, ruin said galaxy, kill half his kids alongside half the galaxy all in a bid to achieve godhood on their coattails?
yeah, great guy. its just the claws that made him evil
>>11488135>all in a bid to achieve godhood on their coattails?chaos propoganda, the Emporer did nothing wrong
>>11460315 (OP)Haven't been around in a while, but hey! That's my pic! Love to see it featured like that, thanks OP.
Still holding out hope we'll get a couple more Admech releases some day, but losing any faith in it. I would think they'd at least do Vanguard to reuse the ranger molds but I guess not. I guess doing HH means they'll be drowning in marines for a good long while. Can't complain too much though, I grabbed some 1ksons (dread, Ahriman, the librarian) and really enjoyed those.
>>11488181Don't lose hope yet, Priest. HH is a gold-trove for Mechanicum goodies, so hopefully JT comes around eventually. They have to, if they'll continue making HH stuff.
Also. Well... there is an upcoming release of Questor Mechanicus Knight of House Raven, but I guess it's a tough sell.
