>>11462722 (OP)So, a Lego DnD theme when?
>>11462728Lego fucked up badly by only doing a one and done deal with WOTC with how successful the CMF and dragon castle ended up being. The dragon castle isn't even a well designed set and is horribly overpriced but it's still very popular despite that. The CMF is genuinely one of the better ones Lego has made and I wish that we could get more of them.
>>11462756It's funny because the new green dragon set Lego made for Ninjago Legends is literally a Nicol Bolas set for MtG
>>11462756>>11462763See? Could have easily been a Magic the Gathering set
>>11462722 (OP)I hate this standard on built heads. They should always be a specific part
>>11462768Why? I think brickbuilt heads with printed eye tiles are the best
I love to shit on licensed sets but Iโd kill for a Moebius or Mรฉtal Hurlant theme.
What did you guys think of ninjago monstrosity? I thought it was ok.
>>11462728I'd rather have Lego make a full Legend of Zelda theme, I don't get why it takes them so long to do it, it's clear this would be a hit.
>>11462793Yeah, it was alright.

Does the fact that a majority of their victims were Muslims make them any less evil in your eyes?
>>11462805Well, the head looks like Toothless, it's clearly made to compete with Funko Pops
>>11462771No. It's a waste of parts meant for other parts of a build
>>11462805What an absolute abomination. Toothless' mom shouldn't drink while pregnant.
>>11462805Reminder that instead of this we could have had a full HTTYD wave and make it the spiritual successor to Vikings.
>houses and buildings reminiscent of the old themes>unique minifigs>cool colourful dragons>tons of options for duat collectors too>nostalgic license for Dreamworks consoomers>fuck ton of material to work with (4 movies and 6 seasons of a series)Imstead we get the one Icons set wasted on a turd that's probably just a recoloured Stitch prototype.
>>11462861Kek.
>fairest of them all
>>11462805>>11462866NEW LEAK! It will actually be a full theme! Here is a pic of one of the sets!
jk lol, enjoy your buildable Fuckno Pop
>>11462868Oh shit son is it 20 years ago?!
>>11462866>>11462868The Icons set initially made me disappointed. Now I'm fuming.
>>11462872Why can't we just go back to this? What is so dysfunctional about this set that Lego doesn't make anything like it? Vikings are still clearly popular, more so than knights even.

>>11462805>>11462888>Brick Fanatics was able to ask LEGO Icons designer and self-confessed How To Train Your Dragon fan Jae Won Lee about how this design choice came about.>โLEGO Toothless was always planned as a cute and chibi-style set from the beginning,โ explained Jae. โAs a designer, I had concerns about whether this style would be suited to the adult lineup for Icons, but there are three reasons why I kept this style.https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-toothless-always-chibi-not-cinematic/
>>11462891>โFirst of all, 10375 Toothless is more of a display model than a play set. The main focus was to design a small model that can sit anywhere: on a shelf, on a desk โ anywhere. The second reason is that this is a building experience, first and foremost.>โThe final reason is that this style and size will reach out to existing LEGO fans, as well as newcomers to LEGO. The most important thing for the designer is to try to satisfy current and future fans of LEGO at the same time.โ>Another frequent question about 10375 Toothless is: Where is Hiccup? While the LEGO Icons set includes a saddle perched on his back, as well as the prosthetic (therefore definitely capturing him in his Hiccup era), the rider is nowhere to be seen. Jae confirmed to Brick Fanatics that a minifigure was never in the cards for this set.
>>11462894>โAs a LEGO fan myself, I always hope a new set will include a special minifigure, but a minifigure Hiccup was not considered at the beginning,โ said Jae. โWe just decided to focus on Toothless, Toothless, Toothless.โ>10375 Toothless doesnโt stand alone on his adorably chubby little feet, however. He comes after several well-received buildable characters that lean into an animated style (although admittedly a style that those characters are known for having on screen).>The upcoming LEGO Icons set wouldnโt look out of place on a shelf next to builds like 43247 Young Simba the Lion King and 43269 101 Dalmatians, and is indeed built to a similar height and style as 43249 Stitch and 43257 Angel. The former stands 20cm tall and the latter at 25cm, while 10375 Toothless is 16cm.>โStitch was quite nice and really successful,โ observed Jae. โThe set has a very good design and is a very good size, so it was a useful benchmark for 10375 Toothless. When we considered having the set at the same size as 43249 Stitch, we thought it would be fun to display both together on a shelf or desk.>โBoth we and our IP partners really liked that option, which led to the similar sizes of the two sets. LEGO sets at this size and in this style are quite tempting for new customers.โLEGO Icons 10375 Toothless is available to pre-order now for ยฃ59.99 / $69.99 / โฌ69.99, ahead of its release on July 1.
>>11462898What? It's literally copy pasted from brickfanatics or you mean they used chatgpt?
https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-toothless-always-chibi-not-cinematic/
>>11462891>โLEGO Toothless was always planned as a cute and chibi-style set from the beginning,โ This company makes decisions against their own financial interests
>>11462891>>11462903Yeah, as it turns out designers are utterly retarded and management shouldn't let them do as they please.
>>11462917In the end, said management liked the idea and so did Universal, so who is really to blame? The designer or those who approved it?
>โBoth we and our IP partners really liked that option, which led to the similar sizes of the two sets. LEGO sets at this size and in this style are quite tempting for new customers.โ
>>11462920This just means they didn't want to do a huge $300 dust collector. They could have still designed a proper buildable character within a $70 price range (or even less) that actually looks like the character.
>>11462805>set flops>"Oh well, I guess people aren't interested in How to Train Your Dragon sets...">"Maybe dragons and vikings just aren't that popular...">never see it become a proper theme>never get a new vikings themed set againWhy am I always finding reasons to post pic related?

>more themes will get similar sets like this

What to do with Lego you no longer want and that has no significant value? I'm trying not to hold on to clutter and shit that takes up space.
Like obviously the valuable stuff gets sold but I would feel pretty stupid donating a bunch of plain old scratched up pieces in bad condition. At the same time it also feels sacrilegious to throw Lego bricks in the trash so I don't know what to do.
>>11463069>gift to kids of a distant family member>gift to an orphanage that takes toys>pawn off on facebook marketplace for a tiny bit of extra cashAbsolutely don't throw it in the trash. There's enough garbage piling up already. It's easy to get rid of if you just find the right person.

>>11463132that was a free $5. easy bet
Lego used to do "close-enough" piece selection all the time. now they have to make custom perfect-match pieces. (or large complicated brick-built things, that sometimes also need specific custom pieces)
Luke has even had his particular hair piece re-done several times already.
why does paul hate castle so much
>>11462874Lego couldnโt possibly make an original theme without an accompanying cartoon! Lego isnโt a toy itโs a multimedia franchise. And itโs just too much work making a cartoon. So stop asking for new cartoons thatโs a lot of work.
>>11463166Whoโs Paul? He sounds like a faggot.

>>11463244it's exhausting to keep wishing for "new things" rather than re-makes of original things
[blog post removed, general ranting about old version vs new version]
why can't these be new characters? make a new story. it might even be a better story. then they can both exist at the same time.
wouldn't we all rather see something new? new kids? new teachers? new evil villains? lazy slackers. they could do a new thing if they want.
then the new thing and old thing can both exist, and each of them be valid
I can't imagine how much better it would have been for the [diversity] Ariel to have been a new character. Then, she and [original?] Ariel could go on adventures together.

I bought a George Washington Carver fig for 8 bucks because that seemed like an insanely good deal and I donโt know what to do with it.
I think it's only a matter of time before Lego mass reissues it as the leaves of some botanical or whatever so I should sell him asap before he loses his value
>>11463333Put him to work. Why else would you buy a black guy?
>>11463117In the books, he literally has no teeth because he's an infant. He's also tiny, can speak (with a stutter), and rides around on Hiccup's shoulders. He's the baby form of the franchise's Big Bads, and will eventually grow to be a massive, multi-story tall Godzilla monster with lots and lots of fangs, but when we meet him he is indeed 'toothless'.
Also, it's a sin how they butchered the portrayal of the dragons in general - they're supposed to be intelligent, there's just supposed to be a language barrier that keeps humans from understanding them until Hiccup and co. teach themselves how to speak it.

Never sold Lego(or anything else online really). What's stopping the buyers from screwing me over claiming there's stuff missing (which I did sent) or returning the package after stealing valuable stuff, etc?
[I'm being hypothetical, haven't actually sold anything yet]
>>11463683there are bricks with studs on the sides as well as the top. (all different kinds, shapes and sizes.) those are called "SNOT" or "Studs Not On Top." using those, you can functionally make a cube with studs on all six sides. then simply make the slopes around each edge. Sorry I'm not going to post exact instructions, but you'll figure it out once you get some of those bricks. have fun!
as a new person here, you should also be aware that this Lego board can be quite harsh with negative responses. try not to take it seriously.

You fags always brag about playing with your legos but how do you do it?
By playing do you just mean rebuilding? Setting up scenes? Tardbashing?

Just bought my 4th copy of this battlepack and used parts from two of them to make this AT-RT and tri-fighter. I got the instructions from online but modified them slightly to be more accurate since I have a lot of extra parts from not building any of the ugly ass official speeders. I still have a lot of extra parts from this endeavor, but am not creative enough to come up with much else with this set of parts. The best I could come up with was a grenade backpack and grenade launcher for one of the B1 droids.

Why are train sets so expensive? Boats sets got expensive too
>>11463857Agreed the problem isnโt licensed sets necessarily, even the HP slop was nice to start, itโs more of a Disney/studio influence. At first they didnโt give a shit but now they can swing nuts and dictate which sets are produced or not.
Can you imagine this today?
>>11463861Sure, but from what I gather from designer interviews, studios give LEGO notes on what they can and can't do to avoid spoilers for the film. However, in the end, LEGO decides which sets they want to produce. For example, Disney/Lucasfilm told LEGO they should produce a set like pic related for Rogue One, but LEGO decided not to because they wanted to do Krennic's shuttleโa vehicle that barely appears in the film. Meanwhile, pic related had a substantial role in the film. In the end, LEGO makes the final decision on which sets they will produce based on what studios give them. Also, most of the time, the reference material is concept art, which is why the sets often look different from the final products in movie tie-ins.
Also, LEGO will decide if a movie or show is worth it to receive sets based on interest and franchise fatigue, which is why we don't have any Superman movie tie in sets yet, because Zack Snyder killed the DC brand for a good period of time.

Am I imagining things or are dual molded legs much looser at the hip than solid legs? Do they hold up the same over time or do the looser dual molded legs become unusably floppy at a faster rate?
>>11463968Dual molded ones are made in China, use a different plastic and at least don't crack as easily as single plastic ones.

Why are there so many people on places like ebay selling sets that are still in production for retail price or possibly even higher plus shipping? What is their endgame in selling something for higher than it can be bought from the official Lego site (the worst possible deal you can get on Lego most of the time) with worse customer service and slower, paid shipping? Do they just make these postings years in advance hoping that the set will get purchased once it retires?

Did anyone ever try to make a lego city? How much would cost to build something lile pic related? How do I even get all the needed parts? Other than normal sets.
>>11464279Those are all Ninjago sets. The largest cost 300+ bucks the smaller ones 100. So about 1500 for the sets. For the custom landscape I'd say 500. Buy the pieces from Bricklink or Lego depending on what's cheaper.

it's not hard to think they would try and leverage Lego sets, if the project was right (Netflix and Lego have colab'd heavily recently)

The military wants young minds that can be easily intimidated and molded into selfless meatshields; people who are beyond a certain point are 'undesirables', people who ask too many questions, are too set in their ways to buy into the whole 'my life to protect the country' idea, and generally physically beyond their prime and already starting to feel the effects of various physical or mental health issues. If you're past your prime, they'll take you if you volunteer, but you most certainly aren't going to be their top pick and won't be forced into service unless there's a massive shortage of bodies (which there isn't).

Which 3-in-1 is the better set to buy atm? I'm leaning towards the Castle because of the higher piece count and better displayability.
Why can't lego do it? It's like they hate money...

I wonder if anybody at Lego pitched the idea to do the funny scene where [Enemy Leader] grabs the journal from Indiana Jones and autographs it like an idiot? That scene was in the movie, too.

I had the opportunity when it was cheaper to get multiples and didnโt.
Go for the castle itโs more playable, thereโs a hundred Mocs for it, and the โblacksmithโ is already a pirate.

I have some insider info on the upcoming LEGO Pokรฉmon theme. The first wave is set to release in January 2026 and will include seven sets. The biggest set is a buildable Pikachu, similar in style to the Stitch set, and itโll retail for around $150.
All the sets will feature buildable Pokรฉmon along with some molded, smaller ones. Weโre getting characters like Charizard, Pikachu, Squirtle, and more. Trainer minifigures will be included too.
Each set will also come with a printed tile designed to look like a Pokรฉmon card. These tiles are a new sizeโnot minifigure scaleโand will be randomly packed. Itโs shaping up to be a pretty unique hybrid theme. One of the sets will even include a Pokรฉmon Center.

If lego still did small sets in themes I like I'd buy sets much more often, the last set I bought was the Shadow motorbike set, which was good and small, but I don't see much else like that which I actually want. I'm guessing that the margins are much better for focusing on huge afol and display sets though, so that's why small sets barely exist now.

>>11465413i remember being 12 wondering the same thing when i noticed all ive been collecting for that particular year was either star wars or harry potter. and prior, i was obsessed with lego city and aquaraiders. its clear they just want to leave a more global and generational impact thats easy for them to revert back to rather than actually use some original ideas. original ideas take TIME. and SOUL. something corporations lose the bigger they get. so now in 2025 i find myself looking towards smaller knockoffs brands like funwhole that actually still have expansive somewhat original themes.
personally i blame purists and disney adults for influencing LEGO to take the lazy route and just shell out 20 disney themed sets for every one original set. disney adults because their entire personalities revolve around being a fat stubby child surrounded by the mouse and his gay ass stories. and then we have autistic purists who will double down on any lazy idea LEGO makes because they need uniformity or theyll lose their shit. LEGO just follows what will make them the most money and i think those two groups of faggots have the loudest voice and for some reason the deepest pockets to spend on larger sets. i miss exo force
>>11466445>mentioning bionicle out of nowhereSeething
>>11466449Lego should do a icons subtheme in which they remake sets from old themes
>>11466452...But they're doing just that?
>>11466450>out of nowhereBut someone else brought it up ITT
>>11466421>>11466450Are you retarded or something?
>>11466445do you know why the bonkle fandom has so many trannies in particular, the way sonic has so many mac n cheese in a plastic blue bowl level autists? im not gonna commit to finding for myself because fuck them but im just slightly puzzled as to why the alphabet ppl flock to that fandom in particular. its just robots and elemental powers. the only connection i can think of is how a lot of MtF just so happen to have that nasally monotone robotic cadence & blank stares and maybe they think theyre robots too?
>>11466464I mean old themes like alpha team, mars mission, castle 2007, space police 2009, power miners, etc.
Old zoomer themes.
>>11466476All of those themes suck ass
>>11466476I'm pretty sure those are millenial themes, zoomer themes start with ninjago in 2011, zoomer peak lego hype was when they were 9 to 14.
>>11466476Fuck you give me 90s themes like Aquasharks and Rock Raiders

Is this still accurate?
>>11466417I try not to get caught up on what a MOC is because it's nice to see people doing anything other than posting pictures of UCS sets and expecting brownie points for following instructions, but of course I'd prefer to see a Ninjago city built from scratch
>>11466369Apparently this set was meant for Jay
>>11466489Well, Kai is back but Jay is neutral right now
>>11466476see anon, that sounds like something that would be PERFECT and would actually make a LOT of senseโฆ which is why they totally ARENT gonna do that. why revive a theme when you could remake another aluminum falcon? its not even for us zoomers, its for the millennial who has no personality outside of their cubicle so they need minimalist sets or well recognized sets to decorate their vapid workspaces
>>11466496Zoomer nostalgia is coming brother. They gave us fortnite, they will give us more sets soon. Ninjago will be zoomer nostalgic soon. Chima will return. We will get a hero factory 2.
>>11466489Jay cockblocked Nya
Why don't I ever find this type of deals at walmart?
>>11466472>do you know why the bonkle fandom has so many trannies in particularAutism.
No, that's the actual answer, bionicle had an impressive lore and worldbuilding that made it a catnip for autismos, so after the theme ended, the autists stuck around since there was no good replacement for it(hero factory was trash while ninjago was very shallow when it started out), and these people are especially prone to trooning out nowadays.
>>11466504I've literally never seen a single discounted Lego set at my local Walmart.
>>11466506yeah, i definitely see autism. but the tranny thing i dont get. trannies are 99% autistic but what the fuck is the connection between wanting to be a thing you arent and a white robot that shoots ice at a black robot that shoots fentanyl (shadow energy)
>>11466489Kai returned and anyone with half a brain could have seen that from a mile away anyway, Wu(alive or not) has been around all along, Jay is now evil-leaning, Cole is still gay.
>>11466510There really isn't one, you just have to understand that an autistic man with nerdy hobbies deciding to LARP as a kawaii animu lesbian full-time doesn't mean he's going to give up on these hobbies and actually try to get into stuff real women care about instead. That's also why there are so many trannies into warhammer, RPGs, programming, extremist political ideologies and so on.
>>11466435Had this set. It was terrible, I was beyond disappointed even as a kid.
At least I was able to sell the figs and the baseplate and the horse barding for a good really good amount.
I seem to recall seeing posted here a Lego set that was a kids playground with a pirate them. I think it was a 3in1 set. I now have some extra money to buy and I canโt find it. Was it a GWP? Did I just dream it? Can someone help me out?
>>11466558Treehouse treasures? It retired years ago but you can probably still buy it new for cheap
>>11466564Thatโs it, thank you. I should have been searching for treehouse and not pirate.
>>11466564This set would be pure soul if it stuck to the classic color scheme
>>11466484Zoomers star at earliest with mars mission. But 100% power miners. Ninjago came out at the peak of zoomer interest
>>11466504I was tempted too. The stegosaurus is like 45 and the HP boathouse and owlery are hella cheap. Clearing space for the summer wave coming in aug and people have cut back spending and toy buyingโฆ what with ww3 and all.
How does buying off bricklink work exactly? I have a few sets with missing parts I want to complete but don't quite understand how buying from multiple sellers from different countries work. I'm in the US so do I just make an order from all US sellers so I don't get fucked by shipping?
>>11466073He should have eaten more carrots.
>>11466663Make a wanted list with the parts you want in the quantities you want. Click the easy buy button to find one store that has all the parts if possible. Each seller is just some guy who signed up to make a store on the site, Bricklink doesn't handle the shipping. So the fewer stores you buy from, the cheaper shipping is typically.
>>11466663>>11466705By the way view the store's shipping policy on the Terms tab. Some may offer better rates than others depending.

>>11466790as amazing as the D&D CMF was, it highlights the -problem- Lego has, that they always seem to need to do MORE. why so little? they could have done so much more.
not a single one of those Minifigures was from the D&D cartoon, or from the classic 80's action figure line (Warduke?! Zarak?)
every IP Lego does, it's so incredibly frustrating that they only do a handful of minifigs. Animal Crossing, Fortnite, freaking Legend of Zelda... only 3 Minifigures? for ZELDA?! 2 Links, 1 Zelda. enjoy. (okay technically 3 Links, gimme a break. they know what they did.)
Pokemon is doomed. enjoy your 5 Pokemon and 2 trainers, each 6 months
WHY won't Lego do MORE? They easily could. Fornite the video game has Lego-versions of thousands of characters in the game. that work is already done. done. right now. why not put a few more of those in each set? $100 set with TWO freaking minifigs? insanity.

Also, really? They couldn't find a way to make it minifig scale? The dish/head could've been minifig scale. Like pic related had a small place to put minifigs in, atleast to roleplay. They could've made the main deck inside the head, atleast a smaller version and be minifig scale too for play.

Just look at the latest UCS X-wing, it just about minifig scale but you still can't put luke in the cockpit with taking his legs off.
>>11466988Dumbass AFOLs keep buying their shit is what
Stop peddling to adults and stop buying $200+ bullshit, course correct so Lego produces only toys again, problem solved.
>>11466485I'm almost 37 years old and remember power miners and it was a good theme, I wouldn't even consider this a zoomer theme. Stuff like Ninjago is zoomer coded, like pre-early 2010s lego.
