>>11475718 (OP)uh oh, Trini made a stinky.
After Hasbro mishandled the license so bad, fans are kinda just over the MMPR. Cutting ties with Sentai was a mistake and very stupid one.
>>11475718 (OP)Come back on August 1, 2025 to see
the full line-up of Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers toys!
>>11475746I'm dumbfounded by the lack of care which would allow this to happen the first time (pretty sure it was June 3rd before they changed it to July), but the fact that it's happening again is wild. Seven years ago this franchise sold for over a half a billion dollars, and now the company that bought it doesn't even give a shit if the domain name takes you to a website by a company they're licensing it to, which keeps running it's potential consumers around and failing to update when they say they will.
The toy industry is dead. It was fun while it lasted.
>>11475718 (OP)>yay badly made slop that worse than the slop I already have and more expensive that I can get excited about and consume!
>>11475855Dying. Prices are going higher and higher, these fucking tariff fears, and companies keep cutting corners to keep costs down which results in shittier toys.
>>11475855>>11475881>Americans can't afford toys no more because of their orange dorito president>the industry is just over fellas, I don't know what to say. just better pack it up and cut all loses while getting in those last few dealsHoly Shit Americans are this retarded
>>11475855Especially with this new big bill about to pass. Taxes going up, tarriffs going up. Forget toys, we'll be scraping just to pay rent and afford to stay alive.
>>11475886Are you having a stroke?
>>11475911>>11475913goddamn Americans seriously are poor and can't stop blaming others for their continued wars in the middle east no wonder they're so low iq
>>11475974go die for Israel you're white
>>11475977man your new material is painfully low effort
>>11475979low effort just like all of power rangers, you deserve this sloppy shit. I bet it's cancelled too because of tariffs no new power rangers for you
>>11475911I pay a mortgage. If anything the interest rate my drop and I can refinance. I'll be fine.
>>11475718 (OP)These look atrocious. Their helmets are comically bad. No reason to even elaborate on the rest of the figure
>>11476091I don't care, we've gotten a million MMPRs. I'm in it for the villains which scale with the old Bandai line.
Listen itโs a cheap line for kids like we had. If you want the franchise to die donโt support it. Either you can enjoy these for what they are which is a cheap entry for kids or you need to shut the fuck up and stop being annoying ass faggots. An adult line did not work. Power rangers are dead and this is the only shot at keeping it going.
>>11476250I've always thought Power Rangers collector figures were a mistake, so I'm excited to see a spiritual successor to Bandai's yearly toylines and rooting for it to succeed. So many people have lost sight of what toys are supposed to be. Fun!
>>11475829I guess you are new to Playmates. Buckle up, kiddo. You're in for a hell of a ride.
Well it's officially July 2nd on the west coast. What an embarrassment.
>>11476522>just time to pack it in fellas, Trump's tariffs have killed this once great American Dream and couldn't let dreams and liberty prosper for a once great franchise that kicked a ton of ass with a rock and roll swagger
>>11475718 (OP)Is PR mishandled? Bandai lost it's own license, Hasbro fucked something up, and Playmates is being Playmates with delays and pin joint thighs
>>11476576Yes, it doesn't understand how to innovate when it's beholden to a foreign source material and doesn't invest in itself to stand out from the source. Nostalgia will not save it because it's not owned by anyone that cares, it's a shitty dub that no one cares about anymore and needs to die already. No new movie is gonna save it, no new shows are being made.
>>11475718 (OP)main thing I'm waiting for right now is Lucky Cat's Dragonzord figure to go with their previous Megazord figure
as for the Playmates line, eh might grab some of the monster figures if they turn out okay enough(I overall like the two Lightning Collection monsters I'd bought a year or two ago but they're a touch too tall for displaying with the Lucky Cat Megazord, the Playmates ones will probably be more in the size range I want)
>>11476250My only gripe is how rough the rangers look. Otherwise the collection looks pretty palletable. I just worry the Re-Ignition effort wont be enough. The first three uploads only averaged 20 to 30K views, and subsequent episodes have bottomed out to about 10 to 15K tops.
>>11476677>not sure how this recycled garbage is gonna stack up against modern franchise like Fortnite when it's only leveling up a couple of chunky thousand views per YouTubeHoly Shit
>>11476233Those might be some of the worst toys released in modern times.
I have had the Mezco rangers and I recently got the Ultimates one. For the price and scale and lack of bobble heads, Ultimates are astronomically better. Especially with all the villains being available. Just got Scorpina today. SH might be a little cooler, but they wont scale and no villains.
Just with there was a Squatt, Baboo, Rito, and Vile.
>>11476250works for japan retard
>>11476373you can have fun with shit that isn't for babies
can't believe retards in this thread is unironically excited for this garbage ass line
oh great the unironic super7 shill is still here too
>>11476250I just want Power Rangers just plain dead too. It's the most boring IP because it's always the same character 5 times, and then sometimes a different guy. This is why He-Man won't end, because at least they keep selling someone else every wave
>>11477378>>11477485Why even come here if you're just going to whine about the franchise and other people finding things to look forward to?
>>11477656why are you such a red letter memedia Reddit meme and endlessly consume without questioning? are you a good little soys boys or something? do you need a little safe space where you can rock out like a bad ass to that wholesome childhood nostalgia with a kick ass theme song? are you a little 90s kids that remember when things were better and more wholesome in a kino kind of way?
>>11477378>works for japan retardB8
>>11477716Japan has no issues with man children like you, faggot
It's really over isn't it? No one gives a shit about Power Rangers anymore except for 90s kids who are on the cusp of middle age.
>>11476250>it's a cheap line for kidsWhich would be fine if kids cared about PR at all
>>11477378>works for japan retardYeah, Playmates should take a page out of Bandai Japan's book. Only 3,300 yen for this high quality figure.
>>11477739why can't power rangers be as badass and epic as skibido toilet?
>>11477744oh cool subby is crying about prices again when Trump is charging %125 tariffs on all import goods. Who the fuck cares about your precious 1/12 ass faggot scale.
>>11477739>if kids cared about PR at allPeople keep saying this, but an earnest attempt at a kid focused Power Rangers line hasn't been done since Ninja Stteel, and Bandai never had trouble moving their kid focused products until the 2017 movie debacle. Hasbro focused primarily on collectors, with their kid focused products being an afterthought. If Playmates' line bombs then you can all say kids don't care anymore, but all the doomposting before a single figure has hit a shelf is ridiculous.
>>11477750>Bandai never had trouble moving their kid focused products until the 2017 movie debaclethey've been floundering for years, no one gives a fuck about this dead brand
Rita's up for pre-order on Amazon. There's also gonna two-packs. Shame they didn't use two-packs to give us something different, like a civilian Ranger with the Putty, or maybe the Ranger and a villain not in the main waves like Scorpina.
>>11477870Good looking out senpai
>>11477870>Shame they didn't use two-packs to give us something different, like a civilian Ranger with the PuttyI agree with you there. Adult collectors wouldโve bought those up.
It's really weird that the Automorphin figures are being sold as the counterparts for the Evil Space Aliens, when the non-transforming figures are the ones which will properly scale with them.
>>11477912Are Automorphin still getting single releases?
>>11475718 (OP)....never getting a fucking Dragonzord....
>>11475829Because it's the exact same characters and season being sold to the4 exact same fans from 7 years ago, who already bought the Hasbro set 7 years ago. With no new media, no new anything, hype dies a little more with each passing year.
>>11475911Sorry liberals, the handouts are over. time to get a job and pay for your own things.
>>11475855>>11475881Even going over to /co/ it's the same story there too. Due to streaming being a big failure and studios hurting ever since covid and the strikes, all animation and comics are dying too. Pretty much all kids entertainment is dying right now.

>>11477937But we were promised free handouts if we give billionaire tax cuts. Their wealth would trick us down. Reagan said that not me.
>>11478006You were offered jobs for the tax cuts. Billionaires use said tax cuts to build up their industries that open up job opportunities for people who are willing to actually get up off their couch and go to work. The trickle down is they invest in their companies, companies expand, companies need new employees, hire people, people spend money back into the community, everyone wins.

>>11478103can't wait for power rangers to finally die
>>11478076No, lying about and just claiming rapid growth existed in all sectors when there was none, no capacity to back up the claim with proof, followed by out of control inflation tripling all prices of all goods and then sending it over to the Ukraine tax haven was really bad during the Biden era.

>>11479077It's become obvious that TMNT is what Hasbro actually wants the Power Rangers IP to be like. Just one set of characters that can be repackaged over and over again banking on nostalgia.
Apparently Hasbro has problems dealing with Toei when it comes to toy rights.
>>11479312The body of a teenage boy
>>11479314The vast majority of the Boom! comics Power Rangers ARE woke slop.
>>11479312The main problem with Cosmic is that it only had 3 toys in its toyline and the megazord was an Amazon exclusive.
>>11478676>Is it even possible to create a more crappy cheap plastic toy than this?Hasbro has you covered.
>>11479321I still don't understand how this happened.
>The season was done out of contractual obligation! That doesn't explain Hasbro leaving money on the table.
Why did they even re-engineer the megazord specifically to be compatible with a line that has a higher standard of articulation than the toy itself? And then make it more expensive and essentially hide it's existence from the main audience?
Why no 5 inch figures? The toys most likely to actually sell?
>>11479101This design doesn't even make any sense. Thunder Dragonzord would be pic related.
>>11479319True, but that means we should acknowledge the one or two times they aren't.
>>11479339With rare exception (very rare), Boom isn't very good at designing Zord combos, even obvious ones like your example.
>>11476443A short ride if Star Trek was anything to go by.

>>11478103Is anyone actually excited about these??? Or is it just copium and breadcrumbing that PR has a future?
>>11480186I'm extremely excited because I thought we'd never get 5 inch Power Ranger figures again after the Hasbro buyout which ensured 6 inch slop would follow.
>>11480459So you like buying crap?
>>11480466I like toys. Being able to expand on the largest collection of evil space aliens which will ever be made is more desirable than "muh 6 inch scale" or 30 points of articulation.
>>11480498>hasbro made 4 of these>$31.99 - $33.99 MSRP>all 4 of them have a worse sculpt and paint apps than the $3.99 figures Bandai made in 1994
>>11479319I don't mind pink male rangers as long as it's an actually subversive take on the color, like the schizo from Don Brothers, but it's always the least creative path with Boom.
Also, what's with the obsession in the West with female red rangers? I think we have had more female red rangers on comics only teams than male.
>>11480568>Also, what's with the obsession in the West with female red rangers? It's just the same Girl Power virtue signaling almost every Western franchise does these days. Another lame attempt at making the franchise seem more modern without any real care put into whether it makes for an entertaining dynamic or not.
>>11480632Power Rangers Prime genuinely seems to be written as a female power fantasy. All the women are in control and beautiful. Unfortunately, another part of the female power fantasy is also being as obnoxious as possible to people you don't respect.
>>11480775>My name is Rita Repulsa...Why does the comic absolutely HATE the idea of Rita just wearing her usual Rita attire? It's starting to feel like they somehow got the rights to the character but not the design. It's fucking ridiculous at this point. How do you have such reverence for a character but not their outfit?
>>11481445One possibility is the same as lots of modern adaptations that feel the need to unnecessarily change character designs, the people behind it want to put their spin on it and make it "theirs/their version"
>>11480504Pig and Elk were still cool
>>11480775I'm a huge Rita simp so I can live with it. Being obnoxious is her thing, it'd be like Gruntilda not being a bitchy old hag.

>these figures are supposed to be part of the same line
>>11482146This entire line deserves to fail because of how fucking moronic the idiots at Playmates are. Why the hell are they pairing the two lines that are different scales along with one another?
>>11478161Ah yes, everyone's favorite: the Beige Ranger.
>>11477870>>11477912Lol funny to see them do this again years later. Toy companies really do not give a shit about scale.
>>11480775Im surprised we've gotten this far into the thread discussing the BOOM! series and nobody has mentioned the shitillion wannabe Ranger comics out there right now. Radiant Black, Inferno Girl Red, Mighty Golden Patriot, Rogue Sun. Everyone wants a slice of Ranger pie except Hasbro.
>>11479335jesus from the thumbnail I thought that zord was made up of smurf-zords
>>11482224I thought of this too, and while it was pretty egregious on Bandai's part, I can at least understand why it happened. The Good vs Evil packs were cash grabs to make money off of pre-existing figures. Poisandra was the only exception of being a newly tooled figure made specifically for the 2-packs due to fan demand. The following year we got new figures Madame Odius and Spinferno in packs, but those were holdovers from the tail end of the Ninja Steel line. Megaforce was the last season of 4" figures before Bandai went back to 5", and while they tooled a new 5" Robo Knight for the Super Megaforce line, there were no Megaforce enemies in 5" scale to pair him with, resulting in this mismatch.
With Playmates the mismatching scale is completely senseless because they already have non-transforming Ranger figures which actually do scale with the villains.
>>11477870>>11477912>>11482146Why the hell are the Rangers roughly twice the size of the Putties (and all the villains?)?

>>11479319Say what you want about the BOOM comics, but they had some of the coolest ranger designs out there. The Omega Rangers are hands down my favorite Ranger designs (I really wish we had gotten a proper Yale from Hasbro). The only non-comic rangers that come close are Mystic Force.
>>11482421>hands down>on god>frfr>bussin>kinospeak English, zoomer
>>11482406That's a disingenuous example as 1.) It's a movie, Andy isn't a real kid, and 2.) those were a mishmash of toys from different lines/brands/years. Name me another action figure line made for kids where the figures were significantly out of scale with each other. We're not nitpicking taller needing to be taller and shorter characters being shorter. In any action figure line there is an expectation that the heroes and villains are going to be the same relative size, unless it's something like Ghostbusters where the villains can vary wildly from really small to really big.

>>11482934>Kids don't live on the internet. They live on social media. That's like saying I don't live in California, I live in Los Angeles.
>>11482939For someone who never leaves Los Angeles, that is very true.
>>11482942This has got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen said on this board, which is really saying something.
>>11482950I'm aware of Venn Diagrams and "logical" thinking about such things, anon. But you need to understand the deeper truth being pointed to. When you are engulfed in Los Angeles, you do not know what it's like in Orange County or Oakland or San Diego, etc. You know little about California if all you do is stay in Los Angeles. And likewise, you know very little about the wider internet, including toy manufacturers' websites, if all you do is go on instagram, tiktok, twitter or bluesky. This is why Playmates does not care about the website promoting the line. It's there just because it is "expected" to be. It might even be in the contract with Hasbro that it has to be. But it is irrelevant. Only a the aging adult collector would look there, and this is a line that does not target adult collectors. It targets the gullible next generation, who Playmates must siphon money from if they are to continue as a company.
>>11482950What's dumb is thinking anyone gives a dick about power rangers
>>11482950do you also believe the faggots in san fran are normal people too?
>>11475718 (OP)So this revival is dead right?
>>11482766>This Playmates line is made for kids. They don't actually expect any of you to care enough to go to a website on an exact day to see some information about it. You are not supposed to want this line. It isn't made for you. That must be why it's based on the 30+ year old first season that only adults would give a shit about because I would imagine most kids these days haven't even seen MMPR.
>>11482778>Chris Chan>>11482886>Chris Chan>>11482893>Chris ChanYes, anon, we're all very proud of the new insult you've come up with. It's very topical.
>>11483417 >TOMMY
>HAS>BLUE>ARMS>1/12>SCALE>IS>ALL>THAT>MATTERS
>>11482766>This Playmates line is made for kids.the old Bandai Megazords were for kids and they weren't cheap pieces of shit though
>>11483422>weren't cheap pieces of shit thoughBecause Americans didn't make them. whenever Americans get involved the quality of a product is always lowered
>>11483422Impressive how you're able to know the quality of Playmates' Zords before anyone has them in hand.
>>11483437They look barely any different than the original toys.
>>11483437I own the original 93 and the 92 daizyujin mold, they had stickers to pull out more details. These are 16 inches when combined, the original was 9 or 10 its also dealing with budget restraints that BOA and BOJ did not have back then. The Zords are fine, its the figures that are shit besides the villains.
Zords look fine, again quit being man child faggots
>>11483824The playschool hasbro one looked worse then this so I donโt know what the fuck some of you are on about or you just havenโt seen that one or the ZAP in the last 5 years.
>>11483824>>11483826>>translucent gun tips on triceratops and sabretooththe 1990 megazord was so much better
>>11483867then go buy it you nigger faggot
>>11483824>>11483826They look significantly better than the honeycomb greebled ZAP trash which cost $166. Probably won't instantly break either.
>>11483826Any other added articulation compared to Bandai or Hasbro?
>>11483903wholesome 1/12 six inch kino posing?
>>11483907I mean like the arms. I'm assuming they're still stuck sticking out straight as usual?
>>11483903No its built big and basic kinda like the playmates classic voltron. Only difference is playmates didnt break the bank for getting that License so they could add lights and sounds
>>11483993Damn. Ah well, the size makes up for it.
>>11483826I'm fine with everything but the dildo missiles. You can probably paint them grey to make it look better but nothing can be done to fix how short the cannons are to incorporate the gimmick. That said, I'll still likely pick them up if I manage to luck into a clearance deal on them like I did with the classic Voltron, managed to get all the lions for about $60 total.
How legit is this?
Or is this a set up?
>>11484224Considering they donโt release until September i find it highly suspicious unless its marketplace from an asian country
>>11484231No lol, in el Segundo, California.
The toy warehouse of the westcoast.
>>11484233I mean could be, worth a shot ask for more photos and pick it up and give a review if you do
>>11484231They release this month. Walmart has a timed exclusive in the US. Amazon Canada is getting them in a week or so.
>>11484224Price is too low, looked up the listing and he just gave a random number and wants you to haggle, he'll ask for 120-140, retails for $19.99 a piece x5
>>11475743Talk about ass backwards.
>>11483824>>11483826these look fine, fun even.
I still think this whole revival is gonna fall flat on it's face though, Kids just do not care about MMPR and their parents are not gonna buy this because the economy is fucked, and I don't think PR as a brand has built or managed its nostaliga well enough for adults that grew up with it to actually care about it.
But these will be amazing once they hit clearance.
>>11475743This image is Playmates in a nutshell. They literally made a promo pic with a QC error on the promo figure. I do not know why anyone is considering this line.
The only possible thing I want from playmates are these retro styled figs. And possible Babu and Squat since hasbro neglected them. Still waiting for the S7 bulk and skull to hit massive discounts or pop up at ROSS like some of the rangers.
These threads are so fucking depressing now. I miss the LC.
>>11484533I didn't think that was a QC error with the pelvis on backwards. I think that's literally how it's sculpted. Just plain awful looking, Right?
>>11484519>this whole revival is gonna fall flat on it's face thoughBingo. Kids don't care and won't like the low quality of the first seasons on Netflix. You see how they make fun of 'old' movies with outdated CGI? This will never interest young kids. Then these crappy PR toys won't draw in enough collectors to keep it alive since kids won't be buying them.
>>11484569LC was slop
After the first wave the allure wore off
lol all these ass blasted faggots the millionth reboot for a dead brand is already dead
This is what happens when a brand goes on too long past its expiration date. Some brands need to go away for awhile to remain fresh.
>>11484584that's the problem, no one is investing in a reboot. no one cared about the comics, no one cares about the original show it's dead
>>11484574Yeah, well, I like slop. It's filling.
>>11484249>They release this month. Walmart has a timed exclusive in the USOnline or in stores?
>>11484675Walmart has no listings as of yet so im assuming physical retail slog
>>11484672Looks like ugly melted clay, only the additional rangers looke decent like shadow, magna and senturion
>>11484672>yea well I just consume the product and don't question anything like a good little red letter media meme
>>11484675Joy. Means mine won't get anything until October.
>>11484675At Toy Fair they said online first, then in store a month or so later, then other retailers would get them in the fall. Though they also said the online Walmart release would be June, so that's all subject to change, but the Amazon US listings have said a September release, which tracks.
>>11484233Lul, that's where Bandai America's HQ was before they merged with Bluefin and moved to Irvine. What a coincidence.
Playmates finally actually updated their site, though powerrangers.com still embarassingly directs to a page saying come back July 1st. There's a 5 minute instructional video on the Megazord. Goldar's figure is oddly missing. No mention of the two-packs. Only the Red Battle Bike is listed for now. No purchase links for anything. Walmart says coming soon. Target and Amazon say coming in October.
It's an old meme but I kind of want to do a subtitled edit of this but it's Haim Saban talking about selling Power Rangers to Hasbro for 522 million (as well as bunch of other shit they're not gonna use)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fkk9DI-8el4
>all the green ranger stuff is exclusive to walmart
Any chance this line had at succeeding is irrevocably fucked.
>>11484559blood 1997 model base
>>11485268>all>literally one item
>>11485326>automorphin green ranger>dragon dagger>mask>one item
>>11484559I wonder if these are licensed from Bandai or just legally KO'd. Playmates really plays fast and loose with copyrights. Still, there's becoming precedence thart if you're a company that licenses an IP, you're free to digitally scan and recreate old molds, given Spinmaster's Batman forever line.
>>11485336Spinmaster's Batman figures were new sculpts. Not using old molds (they are looooooong gone by now, come on) or scans because after a scan, you still have to go in and re-sculpt all the surfaces basically. Tooling doesn't stick around for too many years, especially if the company loses a licensed property.
>>11485336The irony that Playmates would give NECA and Super 7 shit over making Playmates style figures then ripping off Bandai.
>>11484584You should take your own advice and stop whining in every PR thread.
>>11485268Holy shit are playmates just stupid?
>>11485331That image says none of that
>>11485331I donโt see a problem with this. Kids shop in the toy isles not online and all you faggots have been complaining nonstop how awful all playmates offerings are so surely nobody should care about retail exclusives the arenโt going to buy right anon?
>>11485910This.
Whatโs the problem guys I thought you didnโt want this playmates slop? lol
Going to be fun going down the toy isle with my kids and grabbing all this fun shit for us to play with while you forever alone social anxiety ridden bitches have panic attacks thinking about having to leave the house to buy green ranger merch youโve been screeching that you didnโt want
>>11485884So instead of saying what they're doing and posting a quick example of it, I need to spend the time making a photo collage so your dumb ass can follow? I think not.
>>11485910>Kids shop in the toy isles not onlineWhich is all the more reason why locking the most popular character behind a single store's exclusivity is retarded and will seriously gimp this line's sales potential. A lot of areas don't even have nearby Walmarts. I know I've never lived somewhere with a local Walmart, it's always been Target.
>>11485937>store's exclusivity>gimp this line's sales potentialOh youโre retarded

So is the combiner Mega Zord meant to be any good? Does anyone know anything about it?
>>11485570No, they know Walmart's money is worth more than ours.
>>11486235Same. On the east coast there aren't many Walmarts in the nicer areas. They're all in the shittiest parts of town. I've got like 4x as many Targets near me than Walmarts.
I miss Zordon and the cheesiness of the Evil Aliens.

>>11486502Instant clearance for a dead on arrival line
>>11485910They really do not.
we got the endcap too, a lot of green and red and 10 morphers
None of the walmarts have full zord assortments only Trex Tricera and Sabertooth, youโll have to give some specialty shop mark up bucks or wait for amazon in august/september
>>11485338> Not using old molds (they are looooooong gone by now, come on) or scans because after a scan>He doesnt know

>>11486668>those comments Christ shut the fuck up already. Simply donโt buy it and let the line run its course. Itโs happening with or without you.
>kids arenโt going to buy theseWrong
>kids donโt even like power rangers Power rangers Mmpr specifically is still insanely popular on Netflix
>>11486622This is such a retarded endcap. Only the male Rangers, yet the only villain is the woman. Only 3/5 Zords, so impossible to get a full Megazord. I swear it's like they're trying to tank this line with every move they make. Maybe Playmates only picked up the license so they could kill it for good and have less competition for TMNT.
>>11486846Itโs meant to get your attention walking by and get you into the toy isle. Man you guys are fucking stupid
31 years after Bandai's original prototype was shown, and 8 years after Bandai's second prototype was shown, a 5 inch Rita Repula has finally been released into the world. If nothing else, Playmates have fulfilled a big longstanding hole in my collection, and for that I'm grateful.
This is a big motherfucker.
>>11486869Yup
Going to be funny when all the people screaming how shit the line is get fomo and start causing sellouts
>>11486869And yet people will still complain itโs $30
>>11486880Yup, just bought the full zord set before that happens
>>11486869My concern is the plastic quality. The playmates Voltron feels like a brick because of how thick the plastic is but the zords look like they use a thinner, less quality plastic that I worry at that size will lead to stability issues down the line. I'm going to wait for reviews before I decide to pick them up.
>>11486869>>11486880>>11486960>>11486979>Yup, just gonna be kicking a ton of ass once these drop >Yup, just gonna be in for one hell of a kino supremo once these chunky little bad boys come out>Yup, just feeling like a badass myself once I get my hands on these
>>11486979Unless theyโre going to crumble in your hands the second you take them out of the package thereโs no reason not to get them if you want it. These are toys designed to be played with not some overpriced collectible or something thatโs going to a priceless family heirloom.
>>11486986Yup.
Gonna have a kickass time with my kids while you remain a forever alone joyless bitch.
>>11486988>These are toys designed to be played with not some overpriced collectible or something thatโs going to a priceless family heirloom.Ah, as a collector you convinced me not to waste the money then. Thank you.
>>11486991>my kidsLol, ok fag
>>11486845You really are the worst kind of customer. This is why we can't have a good line.
>>11486845>Power rangers Mmpr specifically is still insanely popular on Netflixhave you heard of adults looking up childhood shows for the sake of nostaliga?
These are going to go great with these power rangers. Playmates is kicking ass! Cry harder faggots lmao
>>11486869damn didn't expect them to be that big, I still think this whole toyline is kinda shite and the seperate zords being sold is just gonna lead to so many unwanted pink dinos shelfwarming, but hey if its that big thats a pretty okay deal, probably a great deal once they hit clearance.
>>11487015>Playmates is kicking assSaid no one ever
>>11486869And the ZAP Megazord was already big compared to the original.
>>11486986Why are you sperging out, its so easy to tell once the general casual collector seeโs how big the zords are theyโre going to fomo flip and this thing will be the next legacy in terms of after market.
>>11487020I just did. So uh yeah like that just happened sooo stay mad cumnugget :)
>>11487028You're a loser, however, so what you say means absolutely nothing at all.
>>11487031Hehe poo poo pee pee you still replied to me ;)
>>11487033Now it makes sense, only a literal retard would like these figures
>>11487027Heโs mentally ill and from Singapore.
Do you like Tiny stuff? or just big stuff?
>>11487056these are honestly pretty cool and would be a good way to get a ranger collection with every ranger in a team.
I'd flick Drakkon into the nearest trashcan though.
>>11487056These sorts of things are great to display with Zords. There was a second set shown at one point which unfortunately never came to pass.
>>11487064>I'd flick Drakkon into the nearest trashcan though.Based. Fuck Boomshit.
>>11486979>the zords look like they use a thinner, less quality plasticHow can plastic "look" thinner and lesser quality? These sorts of comments are always ridiculous. Wait until people get them in hand and give reviews before making assumptions.
>>11487128I will, read further in the post fucktard. It looks thinner and lesser quality because I own the Voltron and have eyes and can see the difference, shit for brains.
>>11487129You can feel with your eyes? Thatโs pretty rad.
Are we gonna get toys of this?
https://youtu.be/3axwQF4oX7A?si=4VQrndo-__LOGcZF
>>11487129It probably is thinner, they paid alot more for the license use for this than Voltron
Remember Voltron had like 60 fucking sounds and combining noises. This has none of it because of how much they spent license wise and economical factors. Playmates already shows a substantial loss in ROI this year due to no turtle movie to sell merch
>>11487183>how much they spent licenseHow do you know what the license cost them? Power Rangers was dead, Hasbro had no interest in making more product, I highly doubt they would ask for much as they themselves see it as a unviable brand. At this point they'd probably be happy to take whatever passive income they can get from it.
>>11487197More than voltron
Hasbro is going to make there competition pay some big bucks if they want help produce toys for an IP they own outright. Thats like Mattel asking if they could make transformers.
>>11487201>More than voltronWhat's your source on that?
>>11487201>Thats like Mattel asking if they could make transformers. It's not like that at all because Hasbro actively makes Transformers and greatly profits off of it, whereas Power Rangers is something they have phantom zoned despite paying half a billion dollars for it just 7 years ago. The person who cared and saw potential in Power Rangers died of cancer. The new CEO doesn't share his vision and sees the property as unviable, so Hasbro will take whatever passive pittance they can get from it.
>>11487216You still have to pay for licensing anon, hasbro did not go โwow we canโt do anything with this IP we own outright, please playmates take it for free even though its existed for 30 years continuouslyโ where as voltron was dead for years before playmates got it.
They paid more.
>>11487223Nobody said Playmates took it for free, but you're making baseless assumptions that they're paying more for it than Voltron. Playmates got the Voltron license when there was a new Netflix show, which was a much better position for selling toys than where Power Rangers is currently.
First review

>>11487329Yup about what I expected, this will sell well on the casual I had that when I was a kid 30-40 demographic who canโt afford a SOC or never got a ZAP and missed Legacy. Playmates will definitely up the Ante if they do Dragonzord next at that size.
>>11482550She's a self-insert for the writer. They should make a figure/stature of that design. Even though she doesn't look like a Power Rangers villain.
>>11487216>sees the property as nonviableIsn't that because there's some kinda of rights/licensing issue with Toei over selling their Sentai toys in the West?
They could make their own Power Rangers. But, then they'd have to make a team that's not garbage. There's gotta be diminishing returns on constantly selling MMPR toys.
>>11487329Haters BTFO
The autistic retards screaming about the line are going to scramble for this
>>11487216>The new CEO doesn't share his vision and sees the property as unviableHe's right
>>11487409look at this retarded shit, these comic book writers come up with the most idiotic ideas for teams then wonder why they're taken advantage and struggle to pay off bills. Japan does it a lot better and continually push out new shows year after year.
>>11487329>No elbow movement>Not even a swivelWhat the fuck, I thought this was gonna be like the Voltron they put out.
>>11487454No its a kid line. Its just supposed to be chunky and huge.
>>11487464Well they're gonna have to keep collectors in mind from now on.
>>11487329Nice and big. Might pick up Mastodon, Sabertooth Tiger and Triceratops and just wait for the eventual Dragonzord.

>>11487329you can just tell the original one is made better
>>those unfinished blue and yellow tail guns
>>11487555>unfinishedanon, those colored areas are part of the shooting gimmick the tails have. at least pretend to actually watch the toy in action.
Man, imagine how big the Ultrazord is gonna be.
>>11487464But it's literally about an inch smaller than the Playmates Voltron, and in the video the knees literally buckle under the figures own weight. I don't have that issue with the Voltron at all.
I don't know what I'm doing, but I think this is approximately right.
>>11487581Why? These suck
>>11487616Cool opinion bro.
>>11487555It looks like an overall improvement to me. Arms and legs have some outward movement and the feet can rotate, allowing for more natural, less bricklike stances. Knees are articulated. No overt hollow bits from the front. Overall better proportions with longer thighs and slimmer legs. Deco is also all paint versus stickers.
My biggest complaint is that the tip of the Tyrannosaurus tail doesn't fold back, which is a downgrade from the original toy. I'd expect better in that regard from a standalone release like this compared to Bandai's cheap 2010 mold or Hasbro's cheap mainline mold which had non-folding tail tips.
I also wish normal versions of the Sabertooth Tiger and Triceratops tails had been included, but it is what it is. Pterodactyl getting an opening mouth is great, but that puts more emphasis on Sabertooth Tiger and Triceratops not having them. For standalone releases I really would have expected all the mouths to open, so that's disappointing.
Overall it looks like a very solid toy to me. If you're expecting Soul of Chogoken it's not gonna meet the bar, but other than that I would consider it the best transforming Megazord since the original.
>>11487136I don't need to feel things like an autistic retard such as yourself to understand them, my eyesight is just fine.
>>11487623He said the Megazord chest stays on better for this one. Thank fuck.

>>11487630I knew the minute that happened you fags were gonna be all over it fucking pathetic
>>11487642Over what? Being able to spread the legs out more?
>>11487630This doesn't look like a thinner cheap plastic at all. It looks heavy, or else mishandling it wouldn't make the knees buckle like that.
>>11487647It stands with spread legs fine. The left knee wasn't locked in place as the guy was handling it.
>>11487642What, calling out the shoddy Playmates crap? Poor baby.
>>11487662Whatever man. Your loss. I await Dragonzord.
>>11487630This killed the hype for me.

>>11487689Apparently the legs aren't snapped in all the way/correctly.
>>11487674Yeah, this whole line is a travesty. I don't know how anyone can defend this.

>>11487889Last I checked, it was the fans doing the best work to keep this brand alive. And this is the respect we deserve? You gonna sit there and continue accepting these sloppy excuses from a known serial lying company such as playmates and their terrible toys? Think again bucko.
>>11487889>They donโt need ball jointed ankles. They don't need to progress! They don't need bare minimum improvements! They don't need to be functional toys!

>>11487891Theyโre $12 figures get a life
>>11487769Why do the legs need to lock?
>>11487329Damn. I was holding this to the standards of Playmate's Voltron due to size and pricepoint. Doesn't seem to deliver.
>>11487913True, it's been babies defending them.
>>11487917False equivalent
>>11487630>>11487610>>11487614man it looks cheap but at least it's big, a kid would probably have fun with it, issue is you have to get them all seperately at what? 30 bucks a pop so like he said in the review its just gonna lead to kids grabbing the cool t-rex and then the rest will shelfwarm hard.
They're probably gonna do some big completely pack release but it really highlights that none of these toys were made to be standalone releases.
I still think this reboot isn't gonna do that well outside of this megazord and like I said it will have its issues
>>11487952Kid's lives will be ruined because of how shoddy these toys are
Guys, there are tons of megazord options. You don't need to even look at playmates toys. Ignore them.
>>11488187True there's
The original brick which is overpriced and always incomplete
The Legacy - again overpriced now same with 2010
SMP which if you want the orginal non clear version is overpriced
Hasbro playschool one is small and missing so much paint
ZAP sucks
SOC is a fucking rent payment
French Model is two rent payments
The cube third party on is 100 bucks
Flame toys is overpriced
Robo Universe Daizyujin is sad.
but sure plenty of affordable alternatives.
>"If you don't like MMPR, just ignore this!"
I CAN'T ignore it. I can't pretend that this doesn't exist. They won't let me forget. I CAN'T forget. I want to, but whenever I close my eyes at night, all I hear is that song. That fucking song. Why won't it stop?
"Go Go Power Rangers." That little string of four words has haunted me for a lifetime. This song was around before I was born, and they'll continue playing it long after I'm dead. They keep saying "go go." I just wish they would stop. I was a kid once, too. There were Power Rangers I liked. Time Force, Dino Thunder, SPD. But I hardly think about them. I want to. God, I want to. But it's not about what I want. It's about what THEY want. It's always been about what they want.
I can't escape it, either. Every time I ram my car into a concrete wall or drive it into the ocean, I wake up in a hospital room hearing that fucking song on the TV. Oh god. They're running it on commercials now. They're trying to sell these metaphorical and literal dinosaurs to today's kids. They'll have to deal with this curse, too. They don't want this shit. Hardly anybody wants this shit. But it's not about what we want. It's about what THEY want.
"Go Go Power Rangers." They'll go, all right. Long after any of you or I are dead, they'll just keep fucking going. Even after all life on Earth has been extinguished, they'll still be there.
Those Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Figure review.
https://youtu.be/ysKvMwvNkYk?feature=shared
>>11487329Damn. It's definitely lacking in certain ways, but the size and extra gimmicks really makes it tempting to get. Especially if they do the Dragonzord as well.
>>11488318Pretty much what you'd expect. Not too bad, but not spectacular either. A little disappointed the weapons can't combine, but maybe they're saving that for the mainline figures.
I hope this makes it to seasons 2 and 3 at least. I'd love to have a nice and big Ninja Megazord and Shogun Megazord (since we never got Legacy Shogun Megazord).
>>11488449And Titanus to make the Ultrazords.
I mean, I would hope they'd be smart enough to make him Ninja and Shogun compatible.
>>11488467Ninja shouldn't be an issue since it's a very streamlined mecha. Shogun would probably be too big but that's still a long ways off.
>>11488318God that looks awful
>>11488281Honestly I just thought the idea of treating a 30+ year old children's show as some Lovecraftian presence was too funny to pass up on and I didn't know where else I could write this down. My honest opinions are that I find this pandering really annoying but it doesn't really bug me since I can always just watch stuff like Super Sentai or Kamen Rider instead.
>>11488467To be fair, all they need to be "compatible" with Titanus is "can stand in hole."
>>11488252I wish I had seen your post before the buzzkill replied. This shit's hilarious. Finally some good fucking food.
>>11478161Why do they all look so average...
>>11488807Don't listen to that guy. Your post was genuinely funny
>>11488808And the hole is big enough for the Shogun's feet. Which was apparently a stroke of luck back in 1995.
>>11488887Seconding, I had a good chuckle.
>>11488467Iโd say we should be praising the line if its the first one to get to Titanus since legacy. Anything after is just a bonus.
>>11489936SoC did a Titanus after the Legacy one, but to be fair that was just a slightly retooled version of the Legacy Titanus.
>>11475718 (OP)I'm surprised they didnt think to rerelease the original MMPR movie to theaters this year to help get this line off the ground. That would have been an easy win and TMNT is doing it anyways.
>>11490117Disney owns it.
But then, they might air the new show, so who the fuck knows.
>>11490117Its a season 1 toyline first though replicating the 93 line. The movie is s3 ninja shit
>>11490156>Disney owns it.No they don't.
>>11490438Unless something's changed in the last few years, the actual film is owned by Fox, which then got absorbed by Disney, so they'd own the movie.
Toy rights seem to be back with hasbro as there's no copyright mention of Fox or anything on the box of the new funko pops from what i can tell
>>11490570Saban bought the film rights from fox when he reaquired the franchise.
Embarassing that Playmates' Tommy is a better likeness then Hasbro's Remastered figure.
>>11487889I agree, They dont need ball jointed elbows, head, hips, knees or swivel ankles. they should have just made the REMASTERED turtles just like the original 88 molds with no updates.
>>11490346Pretty sure anon's talking about a venture independent of Playmates line. Like the recent re-releases of the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy in theaters.
>>11490595Trying too hard bro. Hasbro doesn't care that you hate them.
>>11490590Savannah never had the rights to the two 90s movies. Fox always did. And now Disney does.
ITS MORPHIN TIME
https://youtu.be/UukWDUsB5AQ?si=DLQoCbnjz7eaqpxB
>>11490906Saban didn't originally have the rights to the MMPR movie, but he purchased them around 2011 when he bought back Power Rangers from Disney. Saban always had the rights to Turbo, Fox just had the distribution rights. The Turbo movie was an entirely Saban in house production.
>>11490947I'll never understand voice clips in a roleplay toy. Not being the real actors makes it especially pointless.
Why not buy threezero's 1/6 scale rangers? They seem to be quite accurate
>>11491508>$100+ per figure>take up lots of space>virtually no villains
>>11491385>JDF records voice clips for the Master Morpher>No "It's Morphin' Time!">No "Dragonzord!">No "Tigerzord!">No "White Tiger!">No "White Ranger Power!">No "Zeo Ranger 5, Red!">No "Shift Into Turbo!">No "Red Lightning Turbo Power!">No "Dino Thunder, Power Up!">Has "Chocolate smoothies at Errrrrrrnie's Juice Bar! You know what I'm saying." though.I don't think anything is more infuriating to me, PR merchandise-wise.
>>11491782>No "Shift Into Turbo!">No "Red Lightning Turbo Power!"It actually DID have those, which makes it all the more baffling since the most accurate call outs were the ones he never used in Dimensions in Danger (Ninja Ranger and Turbo). It's like he or Hasbro were doing it on purpose.
>check 3 walmarts on Saturday, two yesterday
>no reignition endcap at any of them
All I want is the damn Rita so I can take some cool pics of her with old Bandai villains. It's very annoying to me that she's been in hands for a week now and not a single person has done anything of the sort.
>BBTS finally gets the Threezero Zeo Red I've had on preorder for like two years in stock
>>11491903I gave up after 3 in my area had nothing, just ordered it online fuck the hunt.
>>11491816>It's like he or Hasbro were doing it on purpose. So bizarre. The lines here
>>11491782 are literally the only thing a Morpher should ever say.
>>11490947>takes almost 5 min to get to the actual fucking toy>and almost another 5 until the sounds properjesus christ
>>11491782One night I was asleep and at like 3am the Morpher just randomly went off. Hasn't happened again since. Seeing as JDF is no longer with us it was kind of creepy. I feel like his spirit was with me in that moment.
>>11488211>SMP which if you want the original non clear version is overpricedI'm biased, but this is the best option. And with a popular as Daizyujin is, it's bound to get a third release of the normal version, though I'd wager a Black & Gold is coming first.
>>11492387I'd rather they do a 2.0 than another re-release. It feels a bit dated compared to ones which have been released since. There's definitely improvements which can be made.
>>11492390>There's definitely improvements which can be made.Like what? Only thing I can think of is better plastic for the metal parts than the shitty grey it has, and maybe trying to do the head change better.
>>11492387Black & Gold is already coming thanks to Gozyuger but it's one that doesn't transform.
>>11491782>Chocolate smoothies at Errrrrrrnie's Juice Bar! You know what I'm sayingUnironically love this one because he sounds drunk as fuck, especially at the end.
>>11492336This happened to me too. Extra creepy because it was the evil laugh/I bow before you Rita line.
What's the deal with Goldar? He's the only figure not listed on Playmates website, the only figure not pictured on the Walmart endcap, and the only figure who hasn't gone up for pre-order on Amazon, yet he's on the cardbacks. I'd think maybe he's exclusive to Target, but being exclusive to Walmart doesn't stop Playmates from listing the Green Ranger stuff on their site.
>>11492883Pushed to wave 2 most likely
>>11493443>all the figures I want except for Rita are in Wave 2Jesus Christ
>>11493443He's been released in Australia with the rest of the wave 1 stuff so I doubt it.
>>11492883Theory: Playmates is studying the latest figure market trends and made Goldar a secret chase in the US. It's EBAYIN' TIME, rangers.
Say what you will about Playmates, but this makes me so incredibly happy. This is a childhood dream finally fulfilled. If Squatt and Baboo make it to release I'm gonna be over the moon.
>>11493790Sweet, blends right in
>>11492324This guy's a little more thorough and actually bothers to go through the sounds (including the "secret" ones)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB_0sOctyXk
That said, it's really annoying these things haven't landed in the hands of reviewers who know how to edit their videos down into a concise pacing and timeframe.

>>1149386531 years since Bandai showed their original 5" Rita prototype at Toy Fair 94. But who's counting?
>>11493961Now Playmates just needs to release figures for Giant Scorpina and Mutaytus and we'll be all set!
>>11493973I know those were the other unreleased 94 prototypes, but I'd greatly prefer human Scorpina in a 5 inch figure. The monster form never made sense to me in the 5 inch line given Bandai wasn't making 5 inch Megazords at that point in time, and Playmates is similarly not making 5 inch Zords currentky.
>>11493961I can't believe some people are still obsessed with that
>>11493576Playmates did a two wave rollout for US every where else got the whole assortment in one wave.
>>11494036>I can't believe some people still care about getting the main villain of the first and most popular season of the series in scale with the original toyline.
>>11494089I don't think so. The Walmart endcaps aren't the entirety of the first wave, it's just what was chosen for those endcaps for whatever reason. The problem is Walmart has a timed exclusive on the line, and they haven't put out any normal cases of product yet. Amazon has had pre-orders for all 5 Zords to release in September after Walmart's exclusivity is over, as well as other first wave stuff absent from the encap like the Red Battle Bike, non-transforming Megazord, masks, and the Pink/Yellow/Putty figures. Walmart's temporary stranglehold on this line is screwing over US consumers while the rest of the world can buy the full assortment of products from a variety of retailers.
>>11494152Walmart screwing people over. What else is new.
>>11494137Yeah, the original line began release over 30 years ago. Let go of the past.
>>11494152It isn't that big a deal to wait for September preorders. At least you'll eventually get the figures--unlike walmart McFarlane exclusives
>>11494251It has the most comprehensive character selection, which is a large part of the appeal. Lightning Collection has numerous unfinished teams and many not even started. Aside from MMPR and In Space it also made very few villains, and even within MMPR a major villain like Rito was never made.
Remember Cyclopsis? No toy manufacturers did, lul

>>11494686Rude, but true. Playmates would build up some massive good will if they every made a figure. Bonus points if it scales with the Megazord.

>>11494686Which is weird, since he was the "final boss" of Season 1 and he was all over the video games.
>>11494256I wouldn't mind the Walmart exclusivity window if the damn shit was actually stocked on their website. Playmates said at Toy Fair they were supposed to be available on Walmart.com first, then in store a month or so later. That would have saved a lot of people a lot of trouble searching for them, and allowed people to get everything want, not just the items that were selected for the endcap display.
Here's a UK'er who got all the Rangers and Goldar. Goldar also seems to be available in Canada.
Here's a UK'er who got all the Rangers and Goldar. Goldar also seems to be available in Canada. I've not seen anyone having found the Putty yet.
>>11495097Did not even know that this existed
>>11495097>someone finally thinks to make cyclopsis>it's a 3" imaginext figure>it's never released because of the Hasbro buyout
I didn't realize just how early my local store got these. I picked up the Red T-Rex but they had a whole endcap with the T-Rex, Triceratops, and a Sabertooth Tiger. They also had all the Rangers and Morphers. I'll get a picture of the endcap tomorrow if I can get away from work in time. It's Southeast Texas, BTW.
Walmart.com has finally stocked the line. In addition to everything on the endcap they have the Mastodon Dinozord, Electronic Megazord, Blade Blaster, and Green/Red masks. No Pterodactyl Zord oddly. Still no Pink, Yelow, Putty or Goldar. This image in the figure listings omits Goldar, who has already been released internationally. I'm thinking maybe he could be an exclusive to Target.
>>11495108It doesn't. He and Serpentera got announced but the line was canceled before they were made.
>>11495289I just got Rita
Probably going to go back tomorrow and get a couple of morphors for me and my kids to play with. Will most likely get all the roleplay items when released. Going to take the kids with me and see if they are into the flip heads before buying them. Iโm going to pass on the individual zords and wait for the non transforming electronic one.
Toys are meant to be fun and I hope everyone that reads this knows that :)
>>11495371>Electronic MegazordFuck yeah itโs only $35
>>11495371>Green/Red masksDo they have some rubber around the eyes or bridge of the nose so it's not pressing down on your nose like a cheap halloween mask?
The way the Marvel masks get made these days.
The scale really hits you when you see them together.
>>11496689Do the Putties at least scale to the non-automorpin ones?
>>11496803I don't think anyone has the normal ones yet, I've seen one pic of someone seeing the bike that has the red ranger in it at a Gamestop in Canada, but no one's reviewed it or posted pics, and i don't think the single releases are out yet
>>11496803>>11496895oh, checking the listings at least, Putty is listed at 5" and the rangers are 5.25"
auto-morphin are 5.8"
so
short answer is probably not really
