I doubt that this one's true, and think that most likely the next Baroness is a recolor of the Rattler pilot one since that figure is in demand and Hasbro was clever enough to make her in her OG outfit underneath the flight gear.

I think this one's pretty much a guarantee after getting the Iron Grenadier
>Thrasher
I'm surprised that we haven't gotten him already. My only guess is the hold-up is tethering on whether or not they decide to do a HASLAB Thunder Machine.
>>11570376
After looking at the SnowCat campaign, I’m really thinking Hasbro is looking for HasLab with less expensive parts but more purchases. Basically lower costs for smaller product, but higher purchases.
The Thunder Machine could really get a lot of bang for their buck. Basically amp up the “Mad Max” factor. Then there’s the fact that in fiction, the Thunder Machine is suppose to be a unique vehicle, not an army builder vehicle. So it’s not like a shelf item where customers will go out of their way to buy more than one.
Hasbro knows folks want to complete their Dreadnok collection. Have Thrasher as base price, some lesser known Dreadnoks as tiers like Heartwrencher and you live got a popular HasLab.

>Basically lower costs for smaller product, but higher purchases.
Water Mocassin fits that bill. The Thunder Machine might, too.
>So it’s not like a shelf item where customers will go out of their way to buy more than one.
When considering that every HASLAB Joe vehicle instantly sells for more than retail on the secondary market, there are lots of people who will always buy more than one. Just look at the last one where the figures were in such high demand that if you sold them, then they paid for the Rattler itself which you essentially got for free.
There isn't a lot they could do with Thunder Machine for gimmicks beyond light-up headlights and maybe a light-up dashboard. So it definitely could be something Hasbro can sell at a lower price. The only real catch is they better have awesome motivators with the tiers because those matter. As a tier-3 unlock Baroness easily helped sell the Rattler. But with the Snowcat there was a bit of struggle because cartoon-likeness Lady Jaye and Flint weren't as motivating.

The Conquest X-30 is a very doable plane that wouldn't be any bigger than the Rattler. It might even be a little bit smaller as a single-person aircraft. And it would need multiple figures for the tiers so it would have to come with more than Slipstream. Ace would fit in there nicely. That's my high hopes since the Skystriker is undoable for Hasbro.

Pretty much. During that era, they brought back a lot of Joes for new versions (Snake Eyes, Duke, Rock n Roll, Stalker, Hawk, Cobra Commander, Destro) but I guess they didn't want to go full-blown "remake" of every early character. So they made new replacement versions of other pre-existing characters (Ambush/Recondo, Heavy Duty/Roadblock, Metalhead/Scrap Iron, Blizzard/Snow Job).

Would anyone be interested for Classified to bring out the Plague sub team?
We have SAW Viper, Range Viper, Snow Serpents, Eels, and Crimson Guard.
So repaints could easily make Gallows, Body Bags, Bayonet, Guillotine, and Infrared.
Plus a Classified Night Creeper with a new head could be Incision, the Night Creeper Leader.
You could go straight to new Plague figures of Blackout and Munitia. And Hasbro could do regular Interrogator first and then have him in Plague colors.

>>11573525
There's an interview back when they were doing Reaction where Brian Flynn states that the only character more popular than Snake Eyes with casual collectors is Cobra Commander, so Super7 deliberately did a lot of variants of both characters in that line. Flynn said he could put Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes in every wave and sell out everytime. We've already got 4 CC's and 3 Snake Eyes and it's only Wave 5.

Cobra Trooper- 3rd most popular

Destro- if you count Reaction+ has 5
Zartan- if you count Reaction+ he has 5 figures
Duke- has 5 if you count Reaction+
Shipwreck- had 3 Reaction figures
Storm Shadow- surprisingly only had like 2 figures.
Used this checklist to add it up, but it's missing a couple of figures:

>originally an exclusive release
>redesigned modern version
>had a vintage carded figure
So something like Serpentor, Range Vipers, Arctic Storm Shadow...
Firefly got a redo in the mainline already, Zarana was pretty much vintage inspired with minimal updated. they even included the vintage hair, so she's unlikely to get a retro card release. Road Block has a good chance, but we'll probably get his movie version for the retro card. Beside we just got the TF RB and he looks very similar to the Amazon version.

Ebay is full of sellers selling off the Tele-Vipers without the Trouble Bubble because they bought multiples to have the vehicle itself. There are even Stinger drivers up for sale without the Stinger. Those are non-descript troops that people are selling off anyway, and even Clutch is available in plentiful numbers. People who even bought multiple Rattlers sold off the figures.
That's the pattern as people do buy multiple vehicles for the sake of the vehicles. And they'd be happy if Hasbro saved them a few bucks at the retail level by selling a couple of vehicles without a figure.

This one's a better possibility since it does have more to it. I guess it depends on the release schedule because Hasbro likes to have one female and one Black guy in every so many figures. If they already just got a female figure out or about to, then there's a high likelihood that this one's Scalpel.

Did we watch the same series? It was bonkers but most the Joe got character development and actual human drama episodes. "The Greatest Evil" two parter was the most straight played anti drug episode with one of the rare moments GIJoe and Cobra teamed up. "I Found you Evy" is pretty fucking weak start to finish and I don't understand why anyone cares outside of more grrls in the toy line.

Series 2 was a lot like Season 3 of the OG Transformers show where for every 2 or more silly episodes(which I fucking loved) we get these surprisingly well made gems. You get episodes where it felt like the old Sunbow show like the one where Lowlight and Scoop(I think) get tangled up in a underground tomb with ghosts learning that Lowlight has trauma with being in the dark but he overcomes it and helps the ghosts be laid to rest to then have an episode where Pathfinder and Cobra Commander are strap together and getting chased by a love sick gorilla. It was all over the place and felt like two different shows at times.
>anti drug episode
That ending where it panned over the implied dead Headman with the jump scare DRUGS KILL flashing on the screen made me jump as a kid.

Original Joes Flash, Zap and Grand Slam.
Oktoberfest Guard Daina and Horror Show.
And the Joes Airtight, Spearhead, Muskrat and Repeater.

Glenda, Quarrel, Pimp-daddy Destro, and Zartan in yellow Spandex pants and a Beyonce wig aren't on that list. Roadblock is Classified #001. So I am pretty sure that Hasbro is not going by someone else's poll.
Personally I wouldn't mind new "retro" versions of previous figures they fucked up, like Falcon with that ugly face, Zaranna also with ugly face, black battle armor Baroness, and Tripwire.
I personally want battle armor Baroness redone. I know they did her three times and don't want to deal with it any more, but they really need to fix the proportions, and a better head sculpt wouldn't hurt. You can see the flaws here in this pic. She has a longer torso with shorter legs than the current pilot version, making her proportions look weird. Plus her armor is a modern version and not the classic version with all of their efforts to needlessly add details. Plus her knees don't go perfectly straight.

Obviously easy repaints like Glenda and Quarrel are less expensive to make and getting them out to retail quicker, have nothing to do with popularity but mold availability..

They made it so large that it's not really armor, and is a mecha. But yeah it's sold out at retail ($75), and sellers are now selling for anything BUT retail.
So last night I had a weird dream about G . I. Joe.
Basically it had a new kiddie cartoon (think Rescue Bots) but in the vein of P.A.W. Patrol.
It was called G.I. Joe Pets and it started with a quartet of animal military characters who were small but anthropomorphic.
They wer:
Timber the Commando Wolf
Freedom the female eagle
Junkyard the army looking dog
And Polly the talkative sailor who keeps hitting on Freedom.
They all reported to General Hawk, an actual Hawk.
As they fight the forces of Cobra Commander, now an actual Cobra.
Allies included Lt Falcon (an actual Falcon), Sandstorm the coyote, Max the bobcat, Finback the Dolphin diver, Order the MP canine, Muskrat the swamp soldier and Tunnel Rat, the digger.
Cobra’s forces included Lord Voltar, General Ledger & his birds of prey, Wild Weasel the weasel pilot, Big Boa (an huge boa constrictor) and Fiona the Croc mistress, a large hulking crocodile.
There was also Chameleon with his three Dreadnoks:
Yobo the monkey
Pork belly the warthog
The dumb Ruckus the pit bull.
Timber’s archenemy was Storm Shaggo, his former friend.
Weird crazy dream since I never dream about cartoons.

The only place with more bitching about GI Joe is probably HissTank.com
Interview with Brian Flynn about the new wave of Reaction+
>Brett White: Where does Super7 start when it plans new lines of Joe figures?
Brian Flynn: Beginning in the ReAction line, the very first thing we did was like, "Okay, here's what the cartoon looked like at three and three quarter." [At the time] that was completely foreign [to Hasbro]. Their deal was, "We'll just update the original figures. That's what people want." And, well, yes and no. People do want those, but quite frankly, if you're on the collector side, you have that [3.75" figure] eight times already and you can buy it on eBay. You don't need it. So how do we do something new? Up to that point, nobody was doing anything with the old content. They weren't looking backwards. So what we really did was focus several years of ReAction — and to a degree then Ultimates!, but really in ReAction — looking backwards at all the moments in G.I. Joe fandom that hadn't been touched, whether it's Kwinn from issue #2 of the ['80s] comic or —
>Or the original Baroness design.
Exactly, the original Baroness; what's happening in DIC versus Sunbow; what's happening in the comic books. Our point of view as fans is, we experienced it through all these things, so they're all on an equal playing field.
>The initial waves of ReAction figures were very focused on the characters and designs from those first three mini-series, "M.A.S.S. Device" through "Pyramid of Darkness." When did Super7 decide to move forward to 1987, to G.I. Joe: The Movie?
Quite frankly, where we are with the line plan is, had we not been able to switch to O-ring, this is where we would have been in ReAction. So we were able to make a break and then jump over and go make O-rings.

For the movie, it's fascinating to me that we were able to keep the last [O-ring] wave completely secret till the day it launched. Normally people would be hacking the back end of Target and figuring it out. And it was shocking to me that no one spilled the beans on this one yet. You know now that we say that, somebody's gonna be like, "All right, well, that's a challenge. Now I'm gonna get on the next wave."
>That wave included Jinx and Falcon, two characters that had pretty iconic figures in 1987 tied to the movie. You had to reinvent the wheel a little with the ReAction+ figures. I imagine when you're designing these new versions, you're probably not looking at what Hasbro did in the '80s.
Yes, deliberately avoiding what they did. You don't need me to remake what you already have. I need to give you something that you don't have, something that is going to be additive to your collection, not duplicative to your collection. We really focus on that. So if somebody's like, "Where's the all-black Snake Eyes?" It's like, "eBay is your friend."
>I love how faithful this line is to the source material, which is something I've always wanted. When I was a kid, I got my Jinx figure and wrapped a tiny G.I. Joe logo decal around her thigh, because her figure didn't have that and that was how she looked in the movie. So when I saw that the new ReAction+ Jinx had that GI Joe logo around her thigh, I was like, "They get it."
And we did the different head and everything. Here's the Jinx you needed, not the jinx you got, to a degree. That's probably the most direct — but for the most part, we try to stay away from what you already have. That's why it was like, no, Cobra-La is really important for us.

>And that brings us to Wave 5 of ReAction+, which includes the first ever original sculpt Pythona and Big Lob figures in the 3.75" scale. One Cobra-La character, one Joe, both prominently featured in the 1987 movie — and they never got action figures. Why do you think that was?
That would be a conversation for the people that worked there. I can try to hazard a guess. If you think about what they were doing back then, it's a year plus to get things to market. They were developing toys, I think, still fairly independent of whatever was going on in the content. And I think by the time the content came out — if you talk to old people and they talk about how movie licensing used to be, it's like, even if a movie is popular and I license it, the toy doesn't come out for another year.
>The Star Wars Early Bird conundrum.
Yeah. So it may be a thing of, like, they were like, "We would have loved to have done stuff, but a year from now, is anyone going to care?" If you talk about '87, they're building stuff for '88 at that point. They're probably line planning for '89. By '89 they're getting into some goofy stuff already. They were probably like, "That was cool. We're moving on."
>So when you're approaching Pythona and Big Lob — two characters that people have wanted in this scale, in this style, for almost 40 years — you don't have previous versions to compare or live up to. You're starting at the ground floor. Okay, both of them have convention exclusive figures that are incredibly rare and go for $400, which I don't count —
— And they don't look like how you want them to look.

When we were talking about this, the amount of time that we spent arguing internally about whether the rivets are silver or painted is mind boggling. And in the end, my opinion is that they have to be unpainted — even though, technically, once you get to, like, year three [of the '80s toyline], they start getting painted. That's because when you see it, and you see that rivet, it takes you back to your childhood right away. So if you can't see the rivet, if all of a sudden the rivet is painted — in Pythona's case, purple — it doesn't feel as much like a vintage figure, even though that's technically accurate. So a lot of it is really getting to the psychology of how you remember these toys and making sure they live up to that.
Pythona and Big Lob, their body molds are so different from anything the line had done up to 1987. Big Lob is a tall, skinny dude, and all G.I. Joes are kind of chunky.
Especially in the beginning, they were reusing tooling and swapping. We have the luxury at this point that we don't have to live within those limitations. So it's always that fine line between what does your brain remember it being like versus what it actually was, and we have to play that game all the time. So these figures, in a lot of ways, are better than what they were, but they can't be too detailed, because then they don't feel accurate to what they are. Because when you go back and look without the lens of nostalgia on them, you're like, "Oh, these are kind of chunky."

It's sort of like if you go back to Star Wars, those first Star Wars figures are patently atrocious, quite frankly. It's like, don't sculpt R2-D2, just stick a sticker on it. But how you remember it is different. Forty years later of toy manufacturing, everybody's expectations are much higher, whether they know it or not. So if you actually make it really accurate to the old figures, people are like, "This is shit."
So it's finding that fine line. In this case, this Big Lob is going to be taller, because he should be, and you expect that scale differential now as an adult that you would not have gotten back in the day.
>The card backs are as iconic as the figure. That image that sits next to the figure, it becomes the definitive depiction of that character. What work goes into creating that art?
We work with different artists. So if you talk about the ReAction line, the entire ReAction line was painted by Jason Edmiston, who's obviously very, very well known. He's done a lot of stuff for us for the years, but the reason that he did that line was he was like, "Those card back paintings were what made me want to start painting." On the ReAction+, we have a different artist that's working on all this stuff. We do a bunch of loose sketches, and then once we kind of get there, you paint it up to look like what it needs to deliver for that fan.
>And then there are the file cards, which are equally important.
It's funny — we have a copywriter that we work with on a lot of them, plus there's some internal copywriter guys that throw their hat in the ring. There's some funny stuff that happens in there. You still have to make it fun. People get so serious about this stuff that you lose the plot. And I think that's where we come in.

>And I thank y'all for that. This stuff is supposed to be fun. I think G.I. Joe: The Movie was maligned for so long because it's so over-the-top and fun.
And I think the movie is being reappraised. You have enough companies now that have the license, and they're exploring all that there is. They're celebrating all the history of G.I. Joe, where Hasbro only celebrated the toy history because that was their job. Their job wasn't the TV job and their job wasn't the comic job. It just didn't come up on their radar, per se. I think that is why we really started diving into it, then the comics started diving into it. And I think as that's happened, everybody has sort of churned it all back up and said, "No, now we're going to talk about all of it rather than just the plastic."
>>11577696
Him saying "you don't need it" to customers trying to give the company their fucking money is a bit arrogant. Well he'll figure that out eventually when sales aren't what they'd like while trying to figure out what they could have sold to make more

I think he's saying Hasbro already tried reissing O-rings, but that he wants to focus more on new sculpts and characters who haven't been made for the die-hard fans who already have a collection and isn't in as much of a hurry when you have vintage O-rings can be bought right now. I don't fully agree with that sentiment, and would like them to refresh the line by doing all the key characters. I'm sure there's people who don't want characters they already have stealing a figure slot, so his statements aren't unreasonable l.

The Python Patrol he said was done to make a store exclusive that wouldn't upset people if they missed out, same with the bomb BAT and DIC Serpentor. Comic BAT was done, because he's unique to the comic and hadn't been done. According to the interview he mostly just kept the same road map for the ReAction line when he transitioned to Reaction+, explaining that it's why they're doing the '87 movie and haven't revisited as much of the characters they did during Reaction yet. Sunbow BAT is a no brainer. Everything for the figure already exists. I don't know why it's being dragged out so long? Maybe to let things breath a bit when they've made 3 BATs already?

I doubt they will with everything going on in the world. Other teams and toy companies have drastically reduced their plans. The Transfomers team just split their sets of 1Q wave of toys into two waves making them both smaller shipments and fewer toys at the start of the year. Matty has openly stated 2026 will be "smaller supplies to retailers" when it comes to most of their products. So I'm sure they have lots of stuff and ideas to share but they might not be sure of any of their fates.

Just take that blue version mold (which really is a good one that's immediately distinct and different from the 1986 original yet still instantly identifiable), and make it black with a red face. DONE. Sunbow BAT.

That won't solve all the issues at play. Right now no one knows what those shipping cost are going to be. The tariffs are still in wild flux, for example: 17 new tariffs were announced yesterday such as 25% on furniture and household accessories, with another 450 items to be announced between now and Jan1st when this all goes into effect. Add to this that we now have talks about a chance of hot war happening soon with the major nations and you have fuck up everything even more.
It's why everyone is holding their cards close and drip feeding what they have: The future is beyond uncertain with these products, we could be seeing serious delays to out right cancellations of products in the next three months. Most preorders are for items that haven't even started wide scale manufacturing yet.
This might be the end of a lot of these adult leaning toy brands

That's low, and in no way responsible for the price increases that we got. Reaction+ raised their prices from $20 to $25, which is a 25% increase. While factoring in the FACT that toy-makers have raised prices well above inflation rates for almost a decade now, I'm thinking they did their usual price increases while blaming Trump for them.
