Almost a decade ago, I had to flee from a country.

>ex was a local of that country
>seemed to be developing schizophrenia or something like it. we were aware of it and she was getting help but it suddenly got 100x worse within a couple of months
>she had a psychotic break and attempted suicide while I was there with her, saved her life
>she was not able to recognize anybody
>called her family
>Police came, actually before her parents. At the scene they did nothing, seemed to see that I was trying to help her although they took a photo of my passport and waited for the family to arrive and left
>family arrived and blamed me and thought I had done something to her (i.e.: drugs)
>family realized later I actually did save her life and forgave me (profusely), when my ex came down she cleared me so no bad blood there
>when I left the country, the police seized my stuff for a drug search but obviously found nothing.
>never charged with anything or fined anything, etc.
>happened almost 7 years ago
>I speak the language of this country

So I know it sounds stupid, but I really liked that country and its the place that I was the happiest in my life. Now that the dust is settled, what could happen if I tried to go back? Just refused entry? Its a sane country with a functioning legal system.

At the moment I have no intention of going back at the moment but its always eaten away at me because I will be travelling again near to that country soon.

If I wanted to go back, would I contact the embassy to see if everything's ok or is it better just to show up and see what happens? Like I said I was never charged with anything so idk.

you should apply for some sort of visa, and if they deny it you know you are on some sort of blacklist

if its civilized enough they will inform you why you are blacklisted

You literally just need to send an email or make a phone call, if they say you are blacklisted prove your case, if you are innocent provide letters from your ex-gf and her parents. There is a possibility they would hear you out. Donโ€™t just arrive in the country expecting to get in

its the fact that they seized all my stuff that made me nervous. What if they found weed residue (illegal there) on my clothes or something and they just banned me without letting me know? I was thinking about that yesterday

im assuming you mean make a phone call to the embassy of that country where I live? And yeah last night I was thinking "just show up" but that would be so much stress I'd probably get selected for screening just cause I wouldn't be able to calm myself regardless.

That would make sense..

Immigration officials aren't 4chan jannies. They don't slap a permaban on people for no reason at all. As to whether mentally defective people like yourself should travel, nah. Especially not solo. Nobody's gonna be there to soothe you when you get triggered and have a public meltdown.

You're acting like they have some kind of All-Seeing Eye technology at the passport control. Come on now. What's true is that other countries do not have the tolerance for mental instability that the USA has, where public freakouts are considered First Amendment-protected free expression. So if you start getting all agitated and nasty when the officials ask you a few questions, then yeah, you might end up falling afoul of the law which prohibits using abusive language toward government officials in the performance of their duty.

With reading comprehension like that, you should probably go to Reddit.

Had to calm down a friend who thought they were banned from Japan.

Basically unless there is an active court ruling, you aren't banned from the country, you will know when you are banned as most* countries border police only muddle with things after a judge has ruled on it.
>when I left the country, the police seized my stuff for a drug search but obviously found nothing.
Expect to be searched again while going there but that's about all that can and will happen unless they falsed the reports which

i suppose you're right the more I rationally think about it the more I think they probably don't give a fuck. But I think I will work up the courage to contact the embassy regardless, its more about closing a chapter in my mind than anything else I think..
