>>2791508 (OP)Ok, here's my run down as a solo female tourist. For what it's worth, I'm not the kind to go to bars or go out late at night. I sleep early so I can wake up early to beat the crowds in the morning. I'm also Asian, so people generally assume I don't speak English.
>JapanGreat. No bothers you at all. Probably only had a conversation with 1 other person during my 3 week trip that wasn't a service worker of some kind. Excellent customer service for the most part. There was one place that was so overly attentive, I actually felt a bit unnerved. They noticed things like me struggling to use the sauce bottle, so they replaced the bottle. Saw I was slowing down on eating, and asked if I wanted to take it to go, via Google translate.
>SpainHonestly didn't get harassed at all. But I went in 2021, right after places were opening up. If anything, I felt quite invisible in Spain. It was weird hearing about how friendly and warm Spaniards are, when really, I felt they were very apathetic.
>FranceHonestly, a bit sketch in some places. Encountered someone wanking it at a bus stop and another time saw a dude pissing at train station wall (bathroom was downstairs). I'm not saying avoid, but I found Paris (and Nice) lacking. Lots to do, but keep your ears peeled.
>Sweden (not solo)Honestly, I thought Nordics were supposed have cold autistic people. They were quite friendly and most spoke English. Felt very safe.
>Baltics (not solo)I went to the capital cities and honestly felt very safe. They don't have as much people so the nice part is lack of crowds. They're not as visually friendly, as in, they don't smile very much, but some will help you out if you have problems with things. Like in Riga, I was trying to buy milk and couldn't figure out the differences, even with Google translate. And another customer saw me struggle and helped explain to me the differences. I think everyone has their personal favorite Baltic capital. Mine was definitely Vilnius. Great food.
