Why the hell is this so common in SEA? Holy shit I thought this was a meme, is there some magic words I am missing? Not even staying in one of those shitty OYO rat dens these are pretty decent hotels with gyms, included breakfast, etc. Like fuck man my check in at my next hotel isn't until 3 let me kill time with my luggage in peace for a few hours. Asking to chill in the lobby before or after check in often seems like a roll the dice and I hate paying stupid high prices of late checkout. What's the work around?

They do this in all countries at some hotels. Some places are run by kikes anon it’s that simple. Accept it, mark ot woth an X for next time, warn as many others as you can, and move on.

Literally the first time I made this thread, I heard this was a thing through people but first time dealing with it on a consistent basis

Dunno in North America never experienced it, they usually only come back like 10 minutes to actual checkout time telling me to GTFO

>11 AM checkout in Southeast Asia
>3 PM check-in
It's 12 PM and 2 PM at every place I've stayed at here. Only if I'm staying over does housekeeping sometimes knock and ask if I need toilet paper or fresh towels. Most of the times they don't give a shit.

do you use the safe in the hotel? Thinking about whether I should leave my passport in my luggage or leave it in the safe.
Anonymous No.2796389 [Report]
>>2796386
Any luggage zip can be opened in seconds with a ball point pen unless you have some fancy pacsafe type shit going on leave it in the room safe. Sometimes there'll be a thin piece of foam in there lining the base, hide it your passport underneath it.

There's never a 100% secure way to do this, someone always has the override.
Anonymous No.2796393 [Report]
>>2796386
Aren't you suppose to have your passport on you at all times?
I was also told never to trust the safes.
Anonymous No.2796553 [Report] >>2796653
>>2796386
Don't.

I work in a 4 stars hotel in a popular Mediterranean city, and sometimes the management and the staff is so fucking useless that it might take them a really long time to unblock the safe if it gets screwed. Imagine having your passport in there, having to go to the airport and this shit happens.

Or maybe you can use it during your stay BUT not the last day, just in case.

I already answered this you mfer. You check in to your other hotel the day before your last day at the current hotel. Also don’t go out on your last night.

THIS WAY, you seamlessly transition from hotel to hotel without having to sit in the cuck chair in the lobby twiddling your thumbs for several hours, or trying to pretend like you’ve got some cool wacky plans you can do in the interim to eat up those few hours.

Nope! I want to go from laying around to immediately laying around with no interruption.

LMFAO. You richfags are constantly touting the expensive hotels you stay at as a flex over us budget travelers, and this is how they treat you. Good. You fucking deserve it.

Eat lunch and then move on to your next destination on the 1 PM train or bus. What's so hard about that?

I mean, regarding what I said before, the chances of that happening to you are really rare. If I think about it I've dealt with thousands of people, many of them leave their valuables in the safe and have no problem whatsoever. However, I did have situations were the safe is locked, the guests are in a rush and the maintenance guy had to do his magic.

While travelling outside of the EU (eurofag here) I always carry my passport with me. Most of the times I wear sweatpants with zipper pockets when I travel so I can keep my passport there. If I'm within the EU I still carry my passport anyway (in case my ID gets lost), but I keep it in my large backpack in the hotel/hostel. What I always do is having a "security bag" hidden, normally inside my extra pair of sneakers, with my passport/ID (depending where I'm travelling), one of my credit cards and like 200-300€ in cash.

I hope my autistic explanation helps you in one way or another.

Oh forgot about the luggage theft thing. It's also really unlikely, it hasn't happened to me while working, but I know some cases. Guests lose their keycard with the holder in which the room number is written (NEVER carry your holder with the key), or they get their wallet stolen and they had that inside, and someone comes to the hotel, gets in the room and steals something.

I once worked in a hotel where the bellboy got fired because he stole money from guests safes. He did it a couple of times, there was no way to sue him because obviously there's no cameras in the rooms and some room doors are not covered by the security cameras in the hallways, but they checked the key-slot thing in the door and say his masterkey opened it.

That's also unlikely but more likely, also with housekeepers. But they wouldn't care about your passport, they would just steal money or jewellery.

I only travel for sex tourism so I never have any of these issues. I always book 2 rooms. One to fuck and one to sleep and store my stuff. And I sure so love to fuck

Yes, while nomading, "double booking" was necessary in order to sleep until 3pm.

Depends on the country and hotel, I've had some want to charge me ~10 USD to hold it for 4 hours while others have done it for free. Hostels seem to always give 0 shits so long as you get out of there at some point

No it hasn't. cuckbnb is 10x the hassle of booking a hotel with a reception desk, especially if you don't have cell data service to text back and forth with the host.
>>2803406
Cheap hotels never bother me, because I look like an experienced and respectable (albeit impoverished) traveler. If the staff start harassing you before checkout, it means they don't want your scummy ass extending your stay.
>>2797419
In fact, the front desk at the budget hotels in SEA usually gives guests the option of paying a late checkout fee (usually $2.50-3 USD per hour to stay until 3 or 4 PM, and the full nightly rate if you stay later). Thai housekeepers at the budget places I stay can make up a room in ten minutes, because Thai guests are very clean. There are always people who leave early in a hurry to continue their trip, so they never bother people like me who check out at 11:55 AM.
>>2800424
Yeah, my hotel in Denver had the housekeeper come around at 10 AM knocking on doors reminding everyone of checkout time.
>>2796850
Paid campsites all have a noon checkout time, anon.
>>2800428
Specify that there is nothing valuable in the luggage, hence you do not need it secured and will not hold the hotel responsible should anything go missing. Some receptionists have stowed my bags behind the desk without me asking, but usually I leave them next to the wall in the lobby. In countries with a threat of terrorism, you should never leave your luggage unattended in the lobby without notifying staff.

Airbnb is so shit. I booked 2 airbnbs without realising it because I booked them on the Booking app. Had to text them back and forth for forever and meet in person and listen to them lecture me about everything. One even had the nerve to ask "can you give me a 5 star review?" even though she was a tattooed harpy. Gave terrible directions to find her place and would take 30 mins to reply. Needless to say I gave her the lowest score possible.

How is that an airbnb issue if the host was trying to skip on excess fee's by listing on booking.com?
Had that shit happen all the time in PH, SIRS PLEASE USE VIBER PLEASE SIRS I CAN NOT TEXT YOUR NUMBER WITHOUT CHARGE!
>>2809254
>cuckbnb is 10x the hassle of booking a hotel with a reception desk, especially if you don't have cell data service to text back and forth with the host.
I feel like I must have been stupid lucky or something here, most airbnb the hardest part with it is just realizing "oh yeah that's the correct address", but that's a ~5 minute issue at tops.

Maybe I do it differently but my airbnb stays usually roll like:
>get to stay
>take a 1-2 pics of bed/bathroom(do this for hotels as well)
>send pics to host along with "I arrived" that way chat/support for anything is forced to see it
>day before check out ensure large trash items are out
>fold up sheets and tell the host I left the key at X
Never had any stupid fee's, and I don't care about the itemized "wtf cleaning is 85 dollars?" at booking if the listed price is still a good deal at the end of the day.
Anonymous No.2809326 [Report]
