The grab drivers at the Hanoi airport are shady too. They insist that you cancel the ride and pay them cash to ride with somebody else. They use an excuse that they're out of gas and have a problem with their bank card so they need cash to fuel up. Vietnam gives more of a shit about paper than any country I've been, which is infuriating not only to me, but many businesses, and they change them every year, this year has had so many changes I may not get a work permit for next year, despite having a degree just not the "correct" one. Vietnam still has the mindset that your degree has to exactly match the job you are applying for, so it led to humorous cases such as managers in nvidia and other companies unable to get visas to visit, because their degrees didn't match the criteria. It may have changed this year but who knows.
