High intelligence demands an environment as close to perfect as is reasonable. But it also has its drawbacks. All high IQ societies drink heavily and struggle with mental issues. Not to mention their unwillingness to have children. In Third World countries you have to be more tolerant of shoddiness and incompetence, but the people are more mentally sound.

All urbanized society's face a similiar issues when it comes to birth rates. The major issue is that developed urban societies chronically underpay their workers so they cannot afford to have a family. This reduction in child birth then causes havoc 30-40 years down the line when there are now less people in the breeding age.

This has nothing to do with it. Poor people have more kids than the rich/middle class, and this is well known. The real issue is that, when a society gets safe, men relax and get less aggressive, conflicts are resolved non violently, men increasingly have to simp harder and harder to get female attention since women increasingly don't really have any good reason to want men anymore, and it's a zero sum game that continues until female standards are impossible to meet. It has nothing to do with wages. Women simply have no reason to get together with men anymore. The core cause of this is not technology either. Even Rome had low birthrates at the end.
