Turkish Airlines Challenge
Turkish airlines has a promo where you can get 1 million miles by flying to all 6 continents they fly.

You can do it for about $3k (depending on where you start from)

https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-us/miles-and-smiles/campaigns/fly-across-6-continents-Earn-1-million-miles/

Catches:
- All qualifying flights must go through Istanbul
- Miles expire after 3 years

Is anyone else doing this or want to be travel bodies? What routes are you considering?

You'd have to trust them to properly honor the deal.

>All qualifying flights must go through Istanbul
And that's the big catch, this is like 6 flights going trough CDG, just worse. Turkish airports are a next level of hell thing with endless delays, dysfunctional service and insane prices (12€ for a bottle of water and they don't even accept their own money).
Would be a fun thing I would enjoy but nah.

The prices there fucking blew my mind, how can they get away with this shit? Honestly the world is fucked.

It was like 24 euro for a happy meal and 20 euro for a slice of pizza

There are only three airports where people without EU/USA passport can transfer: Istanbul, Dubai and Doha. So they have near
monopoly in the region. they can get away with anything.

Is there any reason to think they wouldn't honor it other than ethnic stereotypes?

There is only one choice for all of Oceania, and that's Melbourne, with a stopover in Singapore. If you're going to fly that one, better do it in business for your sanity's sake.

There's like one water fountain in the whole place as well, and it barely works. You definitely want to bring some food with you on your trip through IST.
>>2800316
If you have a connecting flight, they print both boarding passes at once, saving you half the shitshow when you return to the airport the next morning. IST has a metro system that accesses the city, so it doesn't seem too difficult of an overnight stopover. I got a highly rated private room for $27 USD near Targum Plaza, in an area with a ton of competitively priced budget rooms.

Or don't be a poorfag and fly business class. The lounge in IST is massive and one of the best in the world.

Georgia (Asia)
Egypt/Tunisia (Africa)

Besides the Americas and Australia, this is very doable

I'm pretty happy with Turkish Airlines. Once again, the dude in the row behind me had the whole row to himself - but no such luck for me.

There's a big competency crisis brewing in American air traffic control. My flight from Istanbul had to suddenly abort landing, pull in the gear and change course at DEN airport. Then I see a story about a Delta pilot having to make an evasive manuever after spotting a military bomber in their flight path.

Just get an Amex Platinum for the lounge access. I got it when I flew weekly for business and can’t imagine going back to sitting around outside of a lounge.

So you're telling me I can sit on a plane for basically a week or two, in economy, with delays, forced layovers through one of the most expensive airports, and probable cancellations and rescheduling issues (knowing Turkish airlines) just to get what is basically $7000 worth of miles after spending $3000 and all that time?

As well as being forced to fly 10+ more times with Turkish airlines over the next 3 years.

I'm a Amex Centurion holder for 15+ years, I fly first or business exclusively and even the best lounge in IST is worse and more overcrowded than India.
You don't have seen hell unless you transferred trough any airport in turkey. The only worse airport I could think of would be in Israhell.

What are you talking about? IST lounge is massive and very well equipped. I've transferred through IST a few times and haven't had any issues. All American airports I have been to, bar none, have been worse.

I flew both Turkish Airlines and Air Arabia. The Air Arabia seat was more ample, but Air Arabia does not allow people to bring water on board. You must buy water on board for $1 per bottle. Turkish Airlines has the goyscreen as well.

>Travel period: June 27 - October 27 2025

KUL airport security doesn't give a single shit. They weren't looking through anything. The gate had its own gate security, which scanned my bags and saw the water bottles inside.

This promo is something almost no one can achieve. Who has enough time and money to travel to 6 continents between now and October? People who are itinerately rich enough to not care that much about miles anyway. Also it may force you to travel to destinations just to try to get the miles, which will likely involve visiting locations you rather wouldn't like maybe shitty Australia.

Comparing Turkey to Mexico, I'd say Turkey is the superior country. Turkey vs Brazil, same same. Turkey does have a bit of a value problem, especially in recent years; the quality of the Turkey experience isn't quite on par with a First World destination, while the cost of visiting Turkey is well in excess of Third World countries. It's easy to be disappointed by the financial realities of Turkey.

I have been protesting on the streets since I was 15. I have voted for the opposition eight times and also took part as an election observer many times. I published 100+ articles for international media. It will get better one day, or at least I can tell my grandkids that I at least tried my hardest.
