Going there alone this December to skip Christmas for a year. Renting a place near the nature with a swimming pool, spa, sauna and such. Just wanting to get away from everything for a little while.

What part are you heading to? I spent some time recently circling around Java with a few days in Bajo and Bali. Jakarta sucks, but there is plenty to do in a lot of different places. It is a huge country with a different vibe in different places. Yogyakarta was super chill and wish I spent a week there.

indonesian girls are the cheapest, and anyone white (mostly from poor slavic countries or poor ussr countries) were the most expensive ones, going up to the millions.

couldn't have said it any better. my driver even said that one time he offered a former indian tourist to take him there but when they got there, the indian guy called 2-3 more indians and they had to pay off the local yogyakarta police head or some shit.

this happens all over the country. another driver in another area, this was in bogor, told us that middle eastern men go there for "haram prostitution." they would marry a chink-looking bogor local girl, pump and dump her, and then get a divorce within 3 months. these men are usually married and have their wives back home in their sandy shitholes.

never going back indonesia again.

My buddy has family in Indonesia and invited me and our other friend along for a trip in summer of 2027.
I'm excited for it as it's something I would never normally do and I'm not a big traveler. Trying to learn some Indonesia before I go.
These replies have got me a bit worried, I think his family isn't really in the touristy areas and we're hoping to mostly check out like old temples or some shit.

Tickets are paid for so hopefully it's fun. Not looking forward to all of the indians, but it sounds like they'll mostly be in the red light and shitty loud night clubs.

As if you can tell Indonesians apart from Indians. Both eat with their hands. Neither use toilet paper. Neither respect any road rules. Both eat spicy food. Both live in overcrowded, trash-filled slums. Both will try to take advantage of a dumb whitey.
