In 2025 Portland, Maine is the worst city in America. Its now filled to the brim with colored hair fat sjw's, trannies, and blacks & browns that can barely speak any english from some random shit hole. Every alleyway reeks of weed and there's a schizophrenic bum on every streetcorner. Adding to this is the contrast created by architecture which is both gorgeous but also creates a sense of how far the city has fallen with the light it shines on the human refuse on the streets. The weather which is cold, cloudy, and foggy in these conditions doesn't create a feeling of coziness, but utter ugliness and suicidal depression.

Even 20 years ago I would've killed to live there but now its in every way just awful.

I'm pretty moderate but I also had a similar Paris-syndrome encounter in Portland. I had been there for work 10 years ago and remembered really liking it. There were an incredible amount of Somalians.

I was there 15 years ago and it was like a miniature big city, bustling and nice and clean. Like a small town slice of Boston.

Portland went from 96% White in 1990 to 83% White in 2010. I bet now it's closer to 65%. Is that more White than other American cities? Yes. Most American cities are White minority at this point.

This is what happens anywhere that shows up as 90%+ white in the stats. They flood it with addicts & migrants then watch the stream of purple hair social workers flood in to hand out needles or ensure that migrant sex crimes get tossed out of court. Same shit happened in Burlington VT, Madison WI, Boise, even Billings.

There’s a few cities that escape this fate. Really expensive western US mid size cities and a few upper midwestern cities (due to climate). They tried to flood Duluth and it didn’t take, winter was too much for the migrants and it’s not survivable for homeless fent addicts. Similarly the rich people in Bend don’t tolerate it and bus them all to Portland.

The trick is you either gotta be able to afford it or tolerate an 8 month winter.
