Israel/Palestine
Seems like pretty interesting place to visit that's got millenia of varied history, cool geographical features like the Dead Sea or the desert, Middle Eastern culture and landscape coupled with first worldish amenities and overall a country not like any other being the world's only with a Jewish majority.

My country's travel information warns me not to go there but it seems overblown given that even the handful of rocket attacks that used to happen occasionally have all but stopped as their originators have been neutralized. I'd like to travel to the West Bank, too - I figure it shouldn't bee too dangerous either if you avoid places like Jenin or the various hotspots of settler chimpouts.

Any travel reports are appreciated.

Careful they might shoot down your plane and blame it on the Egyptians.

>don't care about sand people wars, just want to check out Jerusalem for its historical significance
>immediately give people the 'ick if they know you've been to Israel
Idk, I'll probably never go unfortunately

It isn't a warzone unless you somehow gain entrance to the Gaza strip.

Yeah just ignore the missiles going off overhead. The worst part about Israel is that the land itself has so much history, the oldest settlements on Earth, and it is occupied by worst breed of "human" on the planet.

The likelihood of being harmed by a missile in Israel negligible and arguably smaller than common travel risks like traffic accidents or regular crime.

Yeah, people may believe you're either some sort of Zionist or a bible thumper (or both). Kinda sucks, but it is what it is.

Settlements created by Jewish people 3000 years ago

Nobody is checking your passport to see if you went to Israel, when entering they don't even stamp it, they give you a little slip with the visit date

For archeological sites:
>Beit Alfa Synagogue
>Tower of David Complex
>Temple Mount Tunnels (You see very ancient stone foundations of the Jewish Temple Mount, alongside Roman modifications and natural pools)
>Masada (Requires a whole day and a tour guide)
>The Burnt House (Destroyed by Romans)
>Caesaria National Park (Ancient Roman stuff)
For Historical sites and understanding of the Zionist narrative:
>Israel Museum (Contains the Dead Sea Scrolls, frequent exhibitions, was just there yesterday for a kosher wine festival)
>ANU: Museum of the Jewish People
>Museum of the Underground Prisoners (A British prison in which Zionist underground fighters were imprisoned in pre-independence
>Haganah Museum in Tel Aviv
>Tel Aviv Museum (Very new, visit one time)
>Yad Lashirion (If you like tanks)
>Bahai Gardens in Haifa (Wear modest clothing)
Best places to explore and nightlife
In Tel Aviv:
>Jaffa port, lots of cheap bars and great atmosphere, alongside Arab architecture
>Cheapest bar I found so far: Chaser Joe's bar in Florentin
>All of the city center has great Bauhaus architecture if you're into that
>Florentin in general if you like trashy vibes and graffiti
>Old North if you want more upscale bars
>Many great clubs all around
In Jerusalem:
>Old city obviously
>Don't look like a tourist when walking through the Arab sector at night
>After East Jerusalem you will start seeing checkpoints
>Ramallah and Bethlehem are the safest Palestinian cities to visit as a tourist
>Don't rely on Public transport on Saturday, as Shabbat is observed seriously there
>Hurva synagogue has a great high point in which you can see the Dome of the Rock, and everything surrounding it
Let me know if you want to know anything specific

Why, are crimes against tourists common there?

Crimes against tourists are common everywhere, tourists are easy targets especially when they stick up like a sore thumb

You are a racist, I am proud Sephardi Jew rooted to this land, my ancestors were honoring Hashem in the Temple here while y’all were living in mud huts
