Which countries provide cheap and safe hair transplant? I discovered I have traction alopecia, and I rather have that fixed then shave it off. Currently the hair place near me said they'll offer me service, but it's 7 grand. I'm Thailand is cheap, and poland.

Turkey seems to be the go-to destination for hair transplants, but I advise you thoroughly vet any practices. The only reason I say this is because my boss went to Turkey for hair transplants, but he's still bald at the top, and he was insanely careful with his head.

I don't know of any deaths, but I do know of a 26-year old Brit who got a botched job.

I had my HT done in Mexico. Sounds sketchy, I know, but the place I had went to had a history/trend of people posting videos of their experience with the clinic so I felt pretty secure with him. It's been 3ish years and I've been happy with the results.

The transplant doesn't fall out. The non-transplanted hair falls out, lol.

Turkey is such a meme in this respect that even Ryanair's main Twitter account constantly makes fun of that. It's reasonable quality and the price is low.

Are you just naming random countries? Because the treatments here are good but quite expensive. I've actually been looking into doing the Turkey thing, it costs less, even with plane ticket, airbnb and all.

Not that i dont feel bad for the guy but turkish hair transplants are good quality for the price as long as you do proper research. Theres a reason like 10 millio people go there every day just to get their confidence back. Theres also always a certain risk during a transplant, maybe its higher in turkey but its everywhere even if you got it done in hyperborea by Dr Gigaaryan

Transplantoid here.

OP whatever you do, do not take their recommendation in terms of # of follicles. Ask for 500+ more and pay up.

My temples are still a little thin and it pisses me the fuck off. Even if I side part it there’s this gross thinner patch on either temple and it looks disappointing

Did you get it done in Turkey?

My main worry is that I can't tell which places are good and trustworthy and which ones aren't. If I am comparing prices here I know what red flags to look for on whether I should trust it or not but I have no such assurances picking a Turkish place.

So maybe it's better to get it done in my country where I know what I'm paying for than taking such a gamble.

Just depends.

I had a hair transplant done in Turkey about five years ago. It made a big difference, although I'll probably fly black for a second procedure at some point in the not-so-distant future. To try to answer your question, OP, there are a lot of clinics in Istanbul, and there's a pretty significant variation in prices and rates. Most reputable clinics will probably charge anywhere between $1,500 and $3,500, with some better-known surgeons setting higher rates.

I had a hospital in Bursa do my transplant, and I think I paid a grand total of about $850. I spent a half-day getting my head poked and then it was over. The whole process, including recovery, was much less intense than I thought it'd be. I mean, you'll look like a fucking space alien for the first few days, but you shouldn't be doing much in those first few days, either.

FWIW, I probably got an unusually cheap rate because (a) this was five years ago, but more importantly, (b), the rate was pre-negotiated by a Turkish-speaking friend who did his transplant the day before me and whose uncle had gone there, too.
