Spice & foodie tourism
Is spicy food a sign of lower class of people? I have low tolerance of spicy food, and perfect gourmet food such as French, Greek, or Italian.

What places in the world that aren't white can you go to eat where they won't put spices on slop to disguise the bad taste?

Colombia - they don't put spice on their slop to disguise the bad taste, they just eat it as-is

Which countries have the least spicy cuisine?

Several countries are known for having less spicy cuisine. Japan and Scandinavian countries like Norway and Denmark, are often cited as examples of nations where traditional dishes tend to be mild. Other regions with generally milder flavors include much of Europe, and the southern parts of South America.
Here's a more detailed look:
Japan:
Japanese cuisine emphasizes the natural flavors of fresh ingredients, and traditional dishes often avoid the strong spices and chilies found in other Asian cuisines.

Scandinavia (Norway, Denmark, etc.):
Similar to Japan, Scandinavian countries have a culinary history that doesn't typically incorporate a lot of spice.

Europe:
While there are regional variations, much of Europe, particularly in the north and west, tends to have milder food traditions.

Southern South America:
Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay are known for their relatively mild cuisines.

It's worth noting that even within these countries, there can be exceptions and regional variations. For example, some areas in South America, like northern Brazil, might have spicier dishes due to Afro-Brazilian or Caribbean influences.

Food in most of South America, and most of the Central American places I’ve visited, is pretty bland, or at least not spicy. And curiously, given that you describe the Caribbean coast as flavormaxxed, spicy food is rare on Caribbean islands. IMO good food is rare in the Caribbean, apart from some fruit and fresh seafood, but you may like it more than I do. I’m not crazy about most Latin American food, either—a lot of it is just heavy and greasy and tasteless.

>Is spicy food a sign of lower class of people?
Spicy food is a sign of biomes where spices and strong-flavored produce grow. And there are plenty of trashy people in the mild countries too.

But in all seriousness, even in countries whose cuisines are commonly associated with capsaicin, not every dish is spicy. Only a minority of Vietnamese dishes are hot. I’ve got a good Thai friend, born and raised there, who doesn’t like spicy food. He mostly eats Chinese-style stuff. In China relative spiciness is historically regional—Cantonese cooking, considered the most sophisticated in the country by a lot of Chinese people, is “subtle.”

If you are a beef lover, Argentina has probably the best beef in the world. And dey don't season dey food. The rest of the cuisine is mostly Italian and Spanish cuisine. (Good pizza, cheeses, salami, pasta, etc.) It's one of the least spicy cuisines outside of Europe.

Uruguay, Chile and South Brazil are also Latin American countries where the cuisine is non-spicy. Uruguay and South Brazil are similar to Arg. Chile is basically Peruvian cuisine but less spicy. Colombia and Venezuela ymmv but also tends to be non-spicy.

As for Asian cuisine, Japanese cuisine has also been rated as one of the least spicy cuisines in the world. Everywhere else in Asia is spicy, maybe excepting parts of China.

Otherwise IDK, Russia? You excluded Europe and I suppose North America. Everywhere else tends to be spicy.

This is a retarded thinly veiled racist/white supremacy thread. Unfortunately, OP is so ignorant that he doesn’t realize that European royalties were so desperate for spices that they literally funded exploration fleets to find new flavours. Most of which came from Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Whites spent so long inbreeding in caves that they never really developed a cuisine of their own. Literally everything is imported and culturally appropriated. Eventually, Romans conquered and civilized whites and they went out in search of spices beyond the salt, garum, and vinegar introduced to them by Romans. Before that, the only white people food was burning the hair off cave rodents and eating them semi-bloody.

I’m not sure if I’m feeding a troll, but it depends on what you mean by “spicy.”
If you’re just not tolerant of chilis/capsaicin/“hot” foods, plenty of the food in Singapore is just fine. If you’re honestly offended by the presence of spices/complicated flavor profiles, you might not like a lot of classic Singaporean cuisine (essentially Straits Chinese/Penang Malay cuisine), which isn’t usually very hot, but will have multiple flavorful ingredients—ginger, galangal, coriander, etc. But even so, there’s a lot of mild-to-bland southern Chinese cuisine there, too, and more authentic international restaurants than most of Southeast Asia if you want to eat Japanese or Italian food.

And if you’re just fucking around, silly me.

Ass-blasting hot sauce fetishism and chili pepper nerdery are exclusively white male phenomena, so I’m not sure real statistics bear this out. But sure, I know that most spicy cuisines are native to nonwhite countries.

>I literally have a disease that does not allow me to eat spicy food.
Bad lower esophageal sphincter? Some kind of ulcerations? My condolences. My FIL was messed up by that sort of thing for most of his life. He finally had some kind of surgery and was able to eat Indian food for the first time in his life at like 60.

Anyway, if it’s just capsaicin you need to avoid, there’s a lot of food in Singapore, including multiple local favorites, that shouldn’t make you ill. You probably can’t eat laksa, but Hokkien chicken rice is very mild, as are Hokkien mee, and most versions of “Singapore Noodles,” although some make use of curry powder. If you can eat white pepper, a dish known as “pork tea,” essentially just boiled pork, is quite delicious.

No, I am familiar with the beef market, plus I've been there. Most of the beef is grass-fed, and of Hereford & Angus breeds which are considered higher quality. Plus it has no import taxes as long as the quantities are below the Hilton Quota system, same arrangement as Australian beef, New Zealand, and Brazilian & American premium cuts.

European grass-fed beef (Irish or Scottish for example) are on the same level but in Europe these industries need EU subsidies to make a profit, as land in Europe is at a premium compared to other major beef exporters.

But I never seek out cheese anywhere in Asia apart from on the subcontinent, or, I guess Turkey. Oh, or Japanese cheesecake, which can be quite good. But it’s only technically cheese.

Bacterial fermentation is prevalent all over the world, dumbfuck. The bacteria which ferment foods actually prevent the bacteria which cause rot. It begins putrefying inside your gut and producing ominous gurgling noises, bloating, discomfort, horrific smelling flatulence and extremely foul floaty loose stools.

Imported, most likely. Go to the boutique-style cafes and bakeries in Malaysia; that's where you find the best Western-style food and baked goods. Hard to go back to goreng goreng slop after a good lasagna made with real cheese and real tomato sauce, followed by a carrot cake with decadent cream cheese frosting. Of course, the slop costs RM 8, while the lasagna + carrot cake meal costs RM 28.

The French bakeries in Vientiane have the best imported dairy products in Southeast Asia by a long shot. But go to the street hamburger stands in Vientiane, and they serve your burger with yellow chink "cheese" that turns black and blistery when heated instead of melting. Same with the "cheese" sauce that they offer with fried chicken etc. It's complete bullshit, yellow goop flavored vaguely like cheese. Faux dairy is the norm in most of Southeast Asia.

>Is spicy food a sign of lower class of people?
Yes. When something is heavily flavored it necessarily implies the fundamentals of the ingredients are poor, and is done to give a false impression of something or pretend to be something it's not. No one would ever do this to expensive, valuable, or rare ingredients, in any culture because they all know.

This is patently untrue—both South and Southeast Asia have a huge range of ancient and beloved fermented/pickled fruit and vegetable traditions. And of course Southeast Asians have been using fermentation methods on fish products for millennia, although OP wouldn’t want to go near that sort of thing; they’re an acquired taste even for adventurous eaters. Also too smelly and weird for OP are Lao, Thai, and Cambodian recipes for foods made with fermented buffalo hide, although most of these are dying out even among locals.

Oh, and and and… nearly every culture in Asia has at least one indigenous alcoholic beverage tradition.

Making productive use of microorganisms happens in hundreds of hot-climate cultures, and has for a very long time. You don’t have to like or respect it—you might find it all disgusting, and much of it would be injurious to OP’s compromised Aryan guts. But to suggest it doesn’t exist is just ignorance.

False. I have eaten it. Highland tribal/minority groups in Thailand, Laos, and formerly Cambodia have all got local variants.

It’s honestly not very good, and it is a dying recipe, as so many fewer people keep buffalo than once did. But it’s definitely a thing a few people do, and a few more used to do.

Here’s a description (with pictures) of one version as made by Tai people in Vietnam; the version I had was made by Tai Lu people in Laos, and had a very different presentation—the fermented skin was largely mashed up into a chili-heavy paste, almost a condiment. It didn’t smell great but tasted largely of chilis.

IDK if low-class Thirdies are capable of appreciating the complex flavor of yeasty Polish bread anymore than they are capable of appreciating classical music played at a low volume from a hi-fi speaker system.
Anonymous No.2813267
Not being a retarded direction-brain, it's clear to me that both sides have valid points (when they're not busy insulting each other). Creamy pasta dishes are so much better when you add spices. Lately I've taken to adding paprika to the veggies after they are finished frying. The hot oil brings out the paprika flavor really well, and combined with creamy cheesy sauce it is amazingly delectable. Adding spice makes food easier to digest, as the taste bud stimulation results in increased production of gastric juices.

However, it is important to chew spicy / Third World dishes thoroughly and avoid drinking large quantities of water or other beverages for 1-2 hours after eating a spicy meal. Diluting your stomach acid or washing down unchewed food reduces the stomach's ability to break down the food and kill any bacteria. This gives you that bloaty uncomfortable feeling that First Worlders often experience after eating Third World food.

People do much worse things to expensive, valuable, or rare ingredients.

At least spices would add something to it. There are chucklefucks who will pay through the nose for a high-quality steak, only to cover it in gold and an entire tin of caviar. The gold doesn't enhance the flavor, and the caviar would be better eaten separately.
