its a 3 day (slow, with stops) drive from the east coast (each way) so it would have to be a 2 week adventure minimum

You want to go to Bolivia? You do realize it is one of the shittiest countries in the world outside of Africa, right?

Nobody should obviously expect that uyuni is going to be the cleanest looking town even with the tourisms, thats just how poor the country is. However imho, its one of those places you have to see to really believe the photos taken there. no picture will do it justice. If all goes well, you'll get the mirror effect all around you.

poor? one of the poorest, but shit? clearly you've never been to either place. Bolivia is definitely more safe than most SA countries. The people are warm and theres alot of things to do for the right tourist. It really is poor though, which is why the food wasn't that great besides their kalapurka and pizza.

NTA, I visited almost all countries in South America, except for Bolivia. Is it worth it for an adventure? I got the feeling that La Paz would be a waste of time, but I wanted to go to Potosi to see the Tinku, also spend some time in Santa Cruz.

For me it was an immersive experience in Middle America after six months overseas. Weather couldn't have been better, sunshine and 70s every day in early May. Hardly any pest insects. Lots of people waved at me from their front yards.

I wonder how Bhutan actually is as a travel destination. Everybody here complains about jeets (it's a valid complaint but jfc cool it down a little), so I don't know why visiting a country that's literally next to India and allows visa-free entry to Indians would be appealing to your average jeet-hater.

Even if I wasn't a poorfag, that would be a dealbreaker for me.

If its true that you're required to have a guide to go around the country then idk if anyone would see them besides the usual ones who work there.

Bolivia is really nice to visit dumbshit. Probably a safer country than whatever urban hellscape you come from.

It's poor as shit, but nobody is suggesting you move there. As a tourist it's a pretty unique experience the only country in the Americas where full-blooded Natives are still the majority and lots of natural beauty.
