UK Travel Reccs
I, a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, am now the proud bearer of a UK passport.
I haven't been there since I was a toddler. I haven't left my locality in the US since my school days. Where can/should I go where I won't need a visa? What should I do there?
London's too obvious. That's where we went when I was a toddler anyway. I was thinking Belfast since I like industrial cities and Irish history, but are the troubles still going on out there? Is it very dangerous?

There aren't too many differences (currently) for UK vs US visas.

A few countries you'll get an extra few days or months.

For example, Bolivia.
US passport requires visa on arrival and you can stay for 30 days.
UK passport can enter without a visa for 90 days.

Brazil
US needs an Evisa
UK is visa free for 90 days

And a dozen or so others with similar differences.

Overall the UK and US passports offer similar travel permissions with only minor differences between them, having both simultaneously does open up a few more doors for you vs someone that JUST had one or the other, but it's not a significant difference as most countries you'd actually want to enter will accept both with similar requirements.

This doesn't apply to my current trip since I don't want to go through getting any visas. I'll only be traveling to places a UK passport alone can take me. Hence the subject of the thread.
Which pay-to-win country should I get my third passport from once I'm filthy stinking rich?

Bullshit. UK passports can get multiple years' worth of visas for Australia, Canada and Japan

>Bullshit. UK passports can get multiple years' worth of visas for Australia, Canada and Japan
Lol what? That's simply untrue.

Both the US and the UK have 90 day visa free stay in japan and longer stays require specific visas, except UK passport holders can request a 90 day extension, but would still be required to follow the normal visa pathways for longer stays. Hell, the US has a slight advantage in that US passport holders don't pay any visa application fees but UK passport holders do.

As for Canada, outside of the work holiday visa program for UK citizens, the visiting requirements are generally less strict for US passport holders due to the physical proximity to Canada. For a regular UK citizen not doing a work holiday visa, the UK requires an Electronic Travel Authorization for travel to Canada for up to 180 days. The US on the other hand is visa free with no authorization at all for up to 180 days.

Australia is the opposite, UK has the work holiday visa program and the Evisitors program which is much easier to apply for than a true visa or Electronic Travel Authorization, and allows stay for up to 90 days. The US requires an Electronic Travel Authorization, but has the same 90 day limit as the UK.

The only way you're "easily" getting a multi-year visa is if you can qualify for the work holiday visa program.

Retard UK pass holders can do 2 years in japan and work for free same in Canada, New Zealand and Aus and other places i cba to name. US passports cant do anything like this

>, the visiting requirements are generally less strict for US passport holders due to the physical proximity to Canada

You dont fucking say! Keep inmind Canada is a part of the UK commonwealth so there arent any restrictions on UK hodlers either

>qualify for the work holiday visa program.
>qualify

If you have a UK passport you just send your details and keep $2k in the bank and they approve within 48 hours or go to an embassy. You have no idea what you're on about

You're talking to me like you have any clue about UK passports but you dont so its funny

>The US on the other hand is visa free with no authorization at all for up to 180 days.

Getting aN ESTA takes 10 mins and gives the same privledges as US passports exepct US passports cant apply to work in canada for 3 years and become citizens if they find a job, only UK passports can do that.

You're lost

Almost forgot the benefits of UK passports in former colonies. UK passports can stay in Hong Kong for 6 months then dip out and come back for another 6 months without issues.
If Brexit never happened the UK passport was probably the strongest in the world

yeah people like to glaze the Asian passports like Japan or Singapore for some reason but European ones are clearly superior, and having acccess to the EU+Commonwealth was such a fucking amazing perk that it's sad it's gone

now I'd pick an EU passport over UK if I could choose

So like I said
>The only way you're "easily" getting a multi-year visa is if you can qualify for the work holiday visa program.

Which stops at like 33? So if you're older than that, you're fucked without specific skills or experience.

Basically everything you said for Canada/Australia/new Zealand only applies if you can qualify for the world holiday visa program.

Depends on the country

> Australia and New Zealand, have a standard age limit of 18-30
> Some countries, like Canada, France, and Ireland, extend the age limit to 35

Only if you're married to an Irish citizen

> This applies if you are married to, or in a civil partnership with, an Irish citizen. In that case, you can apply after three years of marriage/partnership and three years of reckonable residence on the island of Ireland

Otherwise it's 5 years within the last 9 years.

It allows the government to control immigration, which they couldn't do inside the EU.
Unfortunately, they forgot to consider the government would just let millions of third worlders in by choice.

Belfast is safe unless you're stupid, you're not going to be visiting the areas where shit still happens.

Do not talk about the Troubles when you're there, just don't, no matter how knowledgeable you think you are. It should go without saying but don't order an Irish car bomb or a Black and Tan...

For places to go out on the pull, cities (especially Newcastle and Liverpool) or "hen do" locations like Blackpool (warning, Blackpool is the full on "working class brit" experience, do not visit outside of Summer or November if you're interested in the illuminations). Expect slags.

If you like industrial history, visit the Black Country Museum (name comes from coal before anyone starts) or Beamish.
