it was the only time i wept for beauty. I had a long day on the moto, riding some dirt trail over a mountain. The weather was rough, cloudy. But somewhere around the 12,000 foot level the clouds broke for about 20 seconds, a tunnel into the blue sky. Just how the light bounced down through the vortex of cloud, i swear it was just for me. Well, it was, just me up there. Maybe i cried due to the stress of it all, months on moto, all alone, body hurting. Many crashes. But that sight is stung in me.

But yes Peru is indeed beautiful. This national park (Manu Nat Park) takes you from the Amazon jungle tropical climate to snowy freezing Andes mountain peaks all in a single hike.

yeah its pretty great - it also has some of the best food in south america imo due to its amazing variety of produce and some asian influence

How to protect from getting food sickness in Peru? I rather dislike having multiple day diarrhea while traveling.
I've heard tap water is bad - only drink bottled.
But if I go to some restaurant and they've washed the salad/greens on the side of the meat with some tap water, I can't really do much about it.

I like seeing peruvian kids walking their fluffy camelids. It's among the more fantastic and whimsical sights on earth
